The Brazen is Willa’s newest installment in her Calamity Montana series. You truly do not need to read any of the previous books in this series to read this one.

If you have read the other books, Kerrigan has lived in Calamity her whole life. And now she is taking her love for interior decorating and construction and building Calamity up building by building.

Willa gives readers everything you need to know about this book. This is definitely an enemies to lovers romance and it’s riddled with lots of heat and passion.

Kerrigan is a very strong woman and never backs down from anyone. She knows what she wants and goes after it. I love her determination and confidence.

Pierce has taken over his grandfather’s business and just wants to wipe it all clean. But Kerrigan is more than what he is expecting. While Pierce too does not back down from anyone, he is finding it quite difficult to walk way from Kerrigan.

While some of the nuances of this story might sound too cliché, it’s Willa’s writing and her characters that set this story apart.

Willa kept me on my toes and had me very much engrossed in this story from start to finish. I am quite intrigued to see what happens in the next book….

Cursed is the first book in a new trilogy by K.K. Allen. This is definitely a fantasy, mythological book with some romance tied into it.

I am really impressed with the start of this trilogy. I really enjoyed the details, descriptions and world building that Allen brings to her readers. It’s set in today’s world but shows how it’s possible for other beings to co-exist and lineage of older families still be in existence.

Readers are introduced to Katrina (Kat) and the nuances of her life. She’s always considered herself an outsider but it’s not until she is living with her only remaining family that she begins to understand why she’s always felt a little different.

Allen does a phenomenal job of keeping things very believable, real and authentic. Learning about the Greek heritage, the little nuggets of information that Allen magically drops with the story to keep readers on their toes and try to pull things together. It’s really interesting to see all this come to life through the eyes of Kat.

Cursed truly is just the beginning of what I feel will be a wild ride. Allen has just tipped the iceberg as to what is to come next in this trilogy.

Exposed is the fourth book in Kristen’s VIP series. This series is one of my favorites for Rockstar romances and I have been oh-so-patiently waiting for Exposed to release. And it was damn well worth the wait.

Exposed is Brenna and Rye’s book. While you don’t need to read any of the previous books to read this one, I would still highly encourage you to read them in order.

Brenna and Rye are like water and oil. They do not get along; they are always ripping into one another for one thing or another.

One night, Rye overhears Brenna’s situation and wants to help her out. Not only does the offer for help throw Brenna off-kilter, but it’s what he wants to do that truly knocks her down.

Callihan wrote this story beautifully. I loved how things just seem to progress so naturally and real. I loved the honesty from both characters; how raw and real they were with one another and themselves. I can’t say it enough – this story progress so naturally and real, I forgot I was reading a book.

Callihan’s words just floated off the pages. Her writing is like a balm to my soul. As soon as I started reading this book, everything from the previous books came flooding back and it was as though I just read those (don’t need to read them but it helps give you an overall feel for the dynamics of secondary characters).

Exposed is another reason why this series rocks. I really hope we get one more book and it is Whip’s!!!

The Rulebreaker is Claire’s next sports romance that focuses on Maverick and Rocky.
I love Claire’s ability to blend the sports aspects beautifully with the romance and deliver an entertaining read.
Mav & Rocky are best friends and are both very dedicated to their sports. They’ve been extremely supportive of each other and always there for another with everything else.
Now that they’re older and in college, things are starting to blur, but neither wants to ruin their friendship.
I really enjoyed how this story played out. Mav & Rocky are both mature college students and Claire stays true to that. She doesn’t sacrifice characteristic changes to fit a particular narrative to develop the story. The whole plot plays out naturally and real.
I really enjoy Claire’s writing style. I can sense she pulls alot from her own experience and that just adds another layer to the stories. It also makes them more authentic and real.
The Rulebreaker is another great sports romance from Claire that I’d highly recommend.

Say Yes is Kandi’s newest standalone romance. However, what makes this story standout from her others is that this one is set in the 90s era. I love that she wrote a story that readers today can still relate to and yet set in a time that many of us lived through. It was very nostalgic.

Kandi is truly known for her angsty stories. However, Say Yes, shows a more softer, romantic side of Kandi. I really enjoyed experiencing Italy during the summer months of 1996 through the eyes of Harley and Liam. These two are in Italy for a three month art course but for very different reasons.

There was so much about this book that I truly loved. It was very reminiscent of the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, the 90’s nostalgia and watching two budding people appreciate Italy and find themselves. Even though Harley and Liam are taking the same art course, but for different reasons, it’s how these two end up interacting with one another, that adds another layer to this story.

They always say people come into our lives for different reasons and this story is all about that. This story will take you on a journey in so many different things. It is about healing, living life in the moment, and overcoming fears. Liam and Harley were exactly what each other needed for one another in order to overcome their own obstacles in life. I loved their story so much.

Say Yes is a remarkable romance story that readers will thoroughly enjoy and love experiencing the 90s all over again.

Jock Royal is Sara Ney’s newest standalone in her Jock Hard series. Sara has really found her niche is writing the entertaining sports romances with unique plots characters.

I really enjoyed this story. It was like a breath of fresh air. Georgia (Georgie) and Ashley (Ash) are two opposites in so many ways but as things progress, have more in common than face value. Their initial meeting is one for the books but it also kickstarts their uncanny relationship.

There is so much to love about both Georgie and Ash. They are fiercely independent and dedicated to the sports they are in. I love that while Georgie isn’t exactly sure where she is going after college, she still maintains a level head and is mature in her actions. Ash knows that he will be moving back to his home country and putting his degree to work with his family business.

What I loved most was how their relationship transitioned throughout this whole book. It was natural and moved at a perfect pace. I truly enjoyed how authentic everything was and I felt connected to the book. Sara gave us the perfect blend of drama/angst with the humor and reality of life.

Jock Royal is the perfect read for anyone who enjoys a sweet romance that will leave you feeling giddy.

Falling for the Villain is a dark romance from M. Robinson and Rachel Van Dyken (RVD). I truly enjoy reading books by both these authors (they have many 4 and 5 star reviews from me). However, this book fell right down the middle for me.

This isn’t the first time Robinson and RVD have written a book together and you can tell. It’s extremely difficult to discern who wrote what as the story does flow very well in that aspect. This book is quite different than their previous book together and also slightly different from what they have written individually. This one takes readers outside of their comfort zone and into master/slave trope along with Stockholm syndrome.

Robinson and RVD are very strong and mature writers. I love their writing styles and love how they are able to blend their unique styles so that it is seamless when we read this story. And this book showcases that. The writing is strong, it is seamless in that you cannot tell you who wrote what and while the story flows in certain ways, it felt choppy in others and this is where I felt disconnected. The narrative of how Juliet (who is Sinacore and they bow to no one) so easily succumbs to Donovan. I wanted more of their encounters early on in their “relationship” to get a better understanding of how their dynamics came to be later on. It is truly hinted at, but I felt because it lacked that connection, it failed to deliver on connecting the reader to their twisted relationship.

The story is told from both their POVs, which does help readers understand to a degree where each character is coming from. But because their early encounters are much more rushed, it misses the mark on how they fully connect. I understand his reasoning for abducting her, the power he yields over her and why he does what he does. However, again, it was just missing the mark for me. I felt disconnected to these characters.

This book is not going to be everyone’s “cup of tea” but if you enjoy stepping outside your normal reads, like having boundaries pushed and/or just reading something different, then I highly urge you to give this one a try. I enjoyed the overall plot, the characters and the general flow of this book. I had no qualms any scenes or the dark undertones of this book. However, I struggled to connect to this book in various ways and that is why this one is right down middle for me.
