Release Day Blitz & Review….The Parent Trap by Jasinda Wilder

The Parent Trap by Jasinda Wilder is now live!

He was my worst enemy. He spent every waking moment devising fresh new ways of torturing me. No one has ever been able to make me cry like Matthais Bristow: my twin brother’s best friend, and the person on this planet I hate most.

Then, he left for college and I was free of him. For ten blessed years, I was free of his torture.

Now, he’s back, and he owns half of the family business I spent my entire life preparing to take over.

Is this going to be a new round of his old favorite game, Make Delia McKenna Cry, or are am I to believe he’s actually come back with good intentions?

I have never read a book by Jasinda (not sure why), so I felt truly honored to receive an arc of this one.

I have to be honest – this book started off at 5 stars for me and somewhere near the end (last 10-15% in slowly went to 4 to a 3). I can’t rate it a 3 because overall this book is written very well and I was intrigued by these characters. The plot was entertaining and I needed to see where they would end up. However, I just didn’t care for how quickly things seems to just come together near the end.

Jasinda does a phenomenal job of introducing her characters and allowing her readers to really get an understanding of the dynamics. There is no love-loss between these characters and it’s quite tangible that their hatred is real.

I want to say so much but what made this book all the more enjoyable was not knowing exactly what to expect from these characters. Their mannerisms, characteristics and overall vibe is also what kept me glued to the pages.

The story flows wonderfully and the pacing of everything is very natural (minus last 10ish%). I enjoyed getting to know these characters and their dialogue at times was quite hilarious. Delia does not hold back on anything and both her brother Dell, and his best friend Thai also know how to dish it out.

The Parent Trap was an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to Dell’s book in the future.
