I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn’t.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I’m more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King’s bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.

I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He’s already saved me in more ways than one. Now it’s my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else…

Excerpt

He cupped my ass and lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. “There was one point I’d made the decision to tell you the truth. I owed you that much. But then all the shit went down with Isaac and Preppy, so when I made the deal with your father for Max, I thought I was doing you a favor by giving you your life back and getting you out of all the shit that came with being in mine.”

I squeezed my thighs around his waist, rubbing myself against his hardness. I moaned. “But you weren’t giving me my life back.” I corrected. I placed my palms on his cheeks and held his face in my hands, searching for any sign in his eyes that what I felt for him might have been wrong, but instead what I found was a resounding need to fix what was broken between us. Tears formed in my eyes. “You were taking it away.” King’s lips parted. He ran his thumb across my lower lip, turning his head he kissed his way up my arm.

“Goosebumps,” King observed, running his fingertips across my already stimulated skin. I bit my lip and stifled a moan.

“It’s just the heat,” I lied.

“You’ve got that fucking right,” King growled, bending my wrist behind my back, his lips came crashing down over mine. We were a tangling of lips, clanking of teeth, sloshing through the water to better line ourselves up with each other. It wasn’t pretty.

It was need.

“I’m still fucking mad at you for letting me go,” I said into his mouth, while our tongues did things other parts of me throbbed to do.

King stilled and held my face away from his, our chests heaving in unison, my erect nipples rubbing against his hot hard skin as we panted together. Our breaths mingled in the air. He ran his hand down the side of my face and cupped my cheek in his palm. “I didn’t give you away, Pup. I released you.”

I stilled. “You released me?” I couldn’t hide the hurt in my voice. For some reason, releasing me sounded worse than letting me go.

King ran his tongue across the tip of my earlobe, holding me tightly against his warmth. Chills ran down my spine and into my very core and they had nothing to do with the temperature of the rain.

“I tried to release you, Pup. For Max. But there was a major problem with that plan, and no matter what happened, it would never have worked,” King confessed.

“Why is that?” I asked, needing to know, but at the same time acutely aware of the pulsing between my legs. Relief and release was only a scrap or two of fabric away. Throbbing for me.

“The problem was…you never released me,” King growled, crashing his lips to mine. He moaned into my mouth when I rubbed myself up against his straining erection. He pushed the fabric of my shorts aside and the second he parted my folds with his index finger, I shuddered. He plunged a long index finger inside of me, and for a second my eyes rolled back in my head until he withdrew it. I cried out in frustration, wiggling myself against him, needing him to make me feel anything other than empty.

Drunk On You by Teri Anne Stanley….Blog Tour & Review

Book Title: DRUNK ON YOUDoY_500

Author: TERI ANNE STANLEY

Release Date: July 21, 2015

Book Synopsis:  Justin Morgan would happily drown the pain of his injured leg—and the guilt he brought back from Afghanistan—in bourbon. Except, there won’t be any booze if he doesn’t rescue his family’s century-old distillery from financial ruin. The problem? Allie McGrath—youngest daughter of the distillery’s co-owners, and the one woman he can’t have.

Allie has been in love with Justin since…well, she’s always been in love with him. Now he’s home, broken up over the death of her brother, and he needs help. She can fix the distillery—she’s sure of it—but no one’s taking her or her sweet new idea seriously. Convincing Justin is her only hope.

Allie is more tempting than Justin expected, threatening a promise he swore he’d never break. If he can’t keep their attraction under control, there’s a solid chance they’ll send the whole enterprise crumbling to the ground…if he doesn’t crash and burn first.

review

Drunk On You was a really quick and good read for me.
It’s sort of a different take on the dating your brother’s best friend.  Allie has always felt more towards Justin since she knew him.  As they got older, Allie realized that he wasn’t going to return those feelings so she moved on.
Justin returns from Afghanistan dealing with alot of different things.  Coming back to civilian life is only just the beginning for him.  He is trying to get a handle on the death of his best friend and Allie’s brother, Dave.  He promised to take care of her and that’s where things get sticky for him.
These two come together again and she is left to help him heal from his injuries.  All the while they are both trying to save the distillery their parents co-own together.  So as they try to fix their families company, these two also have to handle whatever is going on between the two of them.   The chemistry wasn’t off the charts hot, but there was definitely something simmering there.
The banter was funny at times and had some heated moments thrown in.  The author did a good job of keeping the book moving along and adding a bit of angst in.
Overall, it’s a good start to the Bourbon series.  I would read the next in this series to see what else the author brings us.

Excerpt

Justin tucked the towel around his waist and hoisted himself up onto his

good leg, holding on to his crutches with one hand. Allie put a shoulder into his side and an arm around his waist. He tried not to lean on her, he really did. He tried not to put his

free arm around her and smell her hair.

“Holy shit, Justin, you’re heavy.”

He couldn’t think about her soft body beneath his,

those green eyes staring up at him, all soft and wanting. He

was Justin the Buddy, not Justin the Creeper. “It’s because

my manly muscles are extra dense. Like Superman, except

instead of steel I’m a man of granite.

“You are the most full-of-crap person on the planet, do

you know that?”

And yet she didn’t pull away. If anything, her hand

tightened on his waist.

“Let me go, babe. I can hobble in there under my own

steam.”

She let him go, but hovered close by. From the corner of

his eye, he could tell she was checking him out.

He tried to gimp a little faster to keep her from noticing

that his towel wasn’t hanging flat in the front.

They made it to the bathroom, and Allie turned on the

faucets to fill the tub. She patted the edge, and he lowered

himself to sit, his bum leg sticking awkwardly out into the

room. He had to put his hand in hers to steady himself.

She knelt and began unfastening the Velcro strips

holding the brace in place.

Jesus, Mary, and Uncle Steve. She was on her knees in

front of him, and he was wearing a damned towel. He had a

moment of dream déjà vu. A strand of rich honey hair had

come loose from her ponytail and curled in the steam rising

from the tub. He reached out to tuck it around his finger,

but then pulled up short of actually touching her. She was

Dave’s kid sister. No touching.

She looked up, something like heat in her eyes that was

quickly masked by humor. “Do you want some Mr. Bubble

in your tub?”

He actually considered it. She was going to have to help

him in and out of the tub. But he couldn’t quite figure out

how he was going to casually scoop a handful of bubbles

over his semi-stiffy between dropping his towel and getting

into the water.

He turned a little, to maneuver his good leg into the tub.

He took a breath and grabbed the side of his towel, ready to

yank it off.

Allie must have realized the reality of his predicament,

because her face was red. She met his eyes with a stricken

expression, then dropped her gaze like his groin was an eye

magnet.

“It’s just a dick, Sneezy,” Justin said, pulling the towel

off Band-Aid-style—all at once, to get the agony over with.

He lowered himself into the water while she cradled his

damaged ankle.

She stared at his crotch. And kept staring.

Justin almost reached for the towel again.

“You’re right. It’s just a dick,” she said, once he was

settled. She turned to walk out. “I’m going to get started on

some work. Holler when you want to get out of the tub.”

“It’s not just a dick,” he called after her. “It’s a really

nice dick!”

Sneak into Bound

 Interview

1. When did you first start writing?

A: I’ve been writing all my life; from short stories I’d ‘sell’ to my sisters, right up tomy first really terrible novel at 14. But the Dark Secrets series was my first really serious try, which has roughly been years ago maybe more.

2. What inspired you to write?

A: Music. I hear stories in all kinds of music and love to sit quietly and imagine what the story might be.

3. Who are some of your biggest influences?

A: That’s a tough one, because there aren’t really any literary ones these days. I’d say my influences are mostly musicians and filmmakers now. Peter Jackson, Muse,Thirty seconds to Mars and Birds of Tokyo, to name a few.

4. Is there a special place you go and a certain mind frame you like to be in before you write?

A: I have 4 kids. I write when they’re not hanging off my leg.

5. What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you during your writing career?

A: I could say hitting number one several times on Amazon, but I like to think my most exiting thing is yet to happen.

6. How do you come up with all the characters and different exciting plots?

A: I imagine or dream about a character then start writing the story and the rest just falls into place, as if I have an ‘invisible friend’ writing along with me, or as if the story happened somewhere else and I’m just telling it.

7. What authors have inspired you through your writing and how did they inspire you?

A: Stephen King inspires me toss out excuses as to why I can’t write and also to write boldly.

8. Do you have advice for any writer who’s struggling right now?

A: Nothing to it but to do it. The only guarantee you have with writing is that persistence pays and quitting leads to ultimate failure. You will begin as a terrible writer, as we all do, and you will get better. But only by actually writing.

9. What’s the silliest thing that you have ever experienced in your writing career?

A: One star reviews. Ha ha ha.

10. Could you share something extra that you would like your viewers to know about you are your writing?

A: I’m a chocoholic. I suck the candy off M & Ms, three at a time, then eat the chocolate, while I write. I’m also a huge Reign, TVD and Outlander fan.

Extra things your fans would like to know

Your favorite song? Exogenisis Symphony by Muse
Your favorite food? Cadbury chocolate. And Mexican food. But it has to be authentic.
Your favorite movie? Moulin Rouge

Second Chances by Abigail Lee Justice….Release Day Event

Second Chances Blurb –

Knowing that happily-ever-afters only happen in fairy tales, Sophie Spencer spends an amazing night with her Prince Charming. Being new to the lifestyle, she allows her hidden fears to take over and does the unthinkable. She screams her safe-word…and runs directly into danger. Will her moment of weakness cause her world to be torn apart again? Or will she overcome her trust issues and fully surrender to her Prince. Falling in love had been the furthest thing from Kyle Zellar’s mind, but when Sophie Spencer fully submits to his dominant demands, his only recourse is to claim her as his. Before he can claim her, he is forced to let her go. Fighting his inner demons and past issues of childhood abandonment, he knows he must sort out his own life before he can move on with his future.

But will it be too little too late?

Warning: This book contains adult content which may offend some readers; BDSM, spanking, punishment, wax play, piercing,
bondage, and exhibitionism.

~Author’s note. This is the second book in The Heart Series, and NOT a stand-alone. You may read them in any order you like, of course, but I would recommend you read Bound By Her Master first.

Abigail’s Bio:

Abigail Lee Justice writes emotional, erotic, romantic suspense that includes a BDSM theme. She creates strong characters who seem real but are flawed in some ways; some couples Happily Ever After will be a work in process. Some characters’ problems are just too steamy to fix in one book.

Born and raised in Baltimore City by two wonderful, supportive, loving parents, as a child Abigail made up vivid stories in her head. Until one day a friend told
her instead of keeping her stories locked in her head she needed to put them on paper and that’s exactly what she did.

Abigail met her husband 29 years ago on a blind date (thanks Dan C.) while working a part time job to put herself through college. She fell madly in love with her Prince Charming and has been since the first day they met.

By day, Abigail practices medicine in a busy Cardiologist practice. By evening she switches her white coat for more relaxed comfortable clothing. She has two wonderful adult sons and a very spoiled chocolate lab. In the wee hours of the night, she writes BDSM romances.

In her spare time when not working or writing, Abigail enjoys reading, concocting vegetarian dishes, exotic vacations, scuba diving, high adventure activities,
living in the lifestyle she writes about, and doing lots and lots of research making sure her characters get it just right.

Excerpt

Despite the fact that Lucky had just casually mentioned that the lobby lounge serves coffee beginning at six a.m., I’m pretty sure of myself that she’ll be down there. But when I step off the elevator, the lobby is quiet. Empty. The coffee urns are just being set up in the lounge. I pour two mugs, make them just as we like it, and settle on one of the couches on the far side of the room where it’s private, yet I can still keep an eye on the door.

I grab a newspaper and begin to flip through to kill time. Then my eyes catch a pair of pink-painted toes in flip-flops. I don’t know why, but it’s in this moment that I realize, I’m fucked.

The sight of her toes makes me smile.

I’m falling for another guy’s girl. Something I promised myself I’d never do.

But then I reason with myself. I haven’t done anything wrong. Thinking a woman is beautiful and spending time with her doesn’t have to turn into anything, right? They’re just toes after all. But look how cute they are. I’ve never been a foot guy, yet I wouldn’t mind sucking… Stop. Just stop. We’re just friends.

Because I’ve been friends with so many hot women in the past and not fucked them? Yep. I’m screwed. I need to get the hell out of here.

“Good morning,” she whispers and smiles down at me. My eyes lazily travel up from her toes.

I’m totally not going anywhere.

I hold up her mug of coffee. And then I realize she still has the thin shirt she wears to sleep on and I’m eye-level with the sexiest taut nipples I’ve ever seen.

Screw sucking her toes… “Certainly is.” I grin.

Excerpt:

“Hayley’s pregnant again,” he said. “She told me this morning. She’s waiting until three months to make a public announcement.”

Pam felt her mouth twist. “I don’t know what to say,” she admitted. “That poor girl.”

“I hope this one takes,” John said. “I don’t know how much more of her suffering I can stand.”

Hayley was John’s secretary and desperate to have children, but she’d miscarried four times over the past three years. This would be try number five. Rob, Hayley’s husband, wanted to look into adoption or a surrogate, but Hayley was obsessed with having a baby the old-fashioned way.

“I should send her a card,” Pam said, then shook her head. “Maybe not.” She took a sip of her wine. “I have no idea how to handle this.”

“Don’t look at me. You’re in woman territory.”

“Where if you stray too far, you’ll grow breasts?”

“Damned straight.”

“I’ll write a note,” she decided. “I can say we’re rooting for her without a you’re-having-a-baby message. Did the doctor say she would be okay if she could get to three months?”

Her husband forehead furrowed. “I don’t know. She probably told me, but I barely want to know if she goes to the bathroom. Baby stuff is too intimate.”

“You’re not a complex man, are you?”

He raised his glass to her. “And that’s why you love me.”

He was right. She did love that he was dependable and predictable. Even if every now and then she wanted something different in their lives. A surprise trip to somewhere or a fancy bracelet. But that wasn’t John’s style. He would never plan a trip without talking to her and as for buying jewelry, he was more of a “go buy yourself something pretty” kind of man.

She didn’t object. She’d seen too many of her friends endure surprises of the not very pleasant kind. Ones that involved other women or divorces. John wasn’t looking for more than she had to offer. He liked his routine and knowing that gave her comfort.

“Jen got mail from the high school today,” she said. “An invitation to her ten-year reunion.”

“Okay.”

“You don’t think it’s stunning that we have a daughter old enough to have been out of high school ten years?”

“She’s twenty-eight. So the reunion is right on time.”

Pam sipped her wine. “I was shocked. I’m not ready to have a daughter that old.”

“Too late to send her back now. She’s used.”

Despite her earlier distress, Pam laughed. “Don’t let her hear you say that.”

“I won’t.” He smiled at her. “And you’re not old, sweetheart. You’re barely in your prime.”

“Thanks.” She heard the timer chime and stood. “That’s our dinner.”

He scooped up Lulu and followed Pam back to the kitchen. As Pam went about serving the meal, she reminded herself she was a very lucky woman. That a bit of sagging and a few lumps and bumps didn’t change who she was as a person. Her life was a blessing. If there weren’t any tingles anymore, well, that was to be expected. Wasn’t she forever hearing that you couldn’t have it all?

*

It’s just drinks, Shannon told herself as she pushed open the door that led into Olives—the martini bar/restaurant where she was meeting her date. Her online date.

She wanted to pause and maybe bang her head against the wall. Why did she do this to herself? It never went well. Dating wasn’t her strong suit. It just wasn’t. She was a successful businesswoman. She earned mid six figures and fully funded her 401K every single year. She had friends, she had a beautiful condo with an ocean view. Okay, there had been a string of boyfriends over the years and she’d been engaged twice, for no more than fifteen minutes each time. But no marriage. Not for her.

The truth was, she didn’t have good romantic relationships. Maybe it was her, maybe it was men, but she had to accept the truth that having it all simply wasn’t going to happen. Not to her. So why was she back dealing with the nightmare that was dating? Worse—online dating.

The only saving grace was that ProfessionalLA.com was a halfway decent site that actually screened subscribers. So the guy was going to look like his profile picture and wouldn’t have any felony convictions in his past. But the distance from that to happily-ever-after seemed insurmountable.

Still, she was here. She would go in and say hi. She would be pleasant and as soon as she was able to duck out without seeming wildly rude, she would run back to her office, get her car and head home. One glass of wine, she promised herself. She could survive that. Maybe what’s his name would be great.

She paused for a second, as panic set in. What was his name? Crap. Double crap. She kept moving even as her brain hustled toward whatever synapses stored short-term memory. Andrew? A something. Adam? Right. Adam. Adam something she would never remember. He sold cars maybe. He was about her age, divorced and possibly blond?

She made a mental note to spend a little more time with the profiles, even as she scanned the people in the bar and hoped to find someone who looked vaguely familiar.

A man rose and smiled at her. He was about six feet, with dark hair and eyes and a crooked smile. He was tanned and fit, but not in a look-at-me kind of way. And he was staring at her as if she had a monkey on her head.

She did her best to appear casual as she glanced over her shoulder to make sure she wasn’t being followed by Taylor Swift or someone else who would cause a grown man to simply stare. There wasn’t anyone of note. So she kept moving toward him and hoped for the best.

“Shannon?” he asked as she got closer.

“Yes. Hi.”

“I’m Adam.” He held out his hand and they shook. “Thanks for meeting me.”

Bound By Flames by Jeaniene Frost…Review by Selene

BoundByFlameCOVER

Bound by Flames (Night Prince Series, Book 3)
Review by Selene

Synopsis:

Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…
Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

Selene’s review:

What an exciting, sexy, and overall FANTASTIC read!

Going into this book, I was a little worried that I’d forgotten some important details from the two previous installments but I had no cause for concern as Jeaniene Frost always makes it a point to [briefly] summarize events and plant reminders from previous books. And this story in particular can be summed up in one word: engrossing. I was so totally involved in this book that I hardly got anything done and I finished it the same day as its release!

Leila, new vampire and wife to the notorious Dracula, or in this case, Vlad, is the perfect character and voice to carry this series. While she’s not relatable in the strictest sense, she’s more than likable and a perfect complement to her man. Vlad, like his wife, is also a great character to read. Frost’s version of Dracula is by far the sexiest… and I have to admit, sometimes, the scariest.

Like their courtship, Vlad and Leila’s marriage has a few rough patches. You know, the standard: kidnapping, torture, and the most undesirable of alliances. The ongoing feud with master vampire Szilagyi has already resulted in the death of Vlad’s former wife and family as well as the human death of Leila. And after this formidable villain kidnaps and tortures Leila, Vlad has finally had enough.

This episode in the series is easily my favorite. Both Vlad and Leila grow in mental and physical strength, but more importantly, so does their bond and loyalty to one another. In real life, Vlad’s possessiveness would be seen as over the top and, quite frankly, frightening, but on paper, it’s downright SEXY. And this is especially because it’s offset by his protectiveness. As cold as he is to his enemies and foes, his gentle side with Leila and his friendship with Maximus prove him to be warm where it counts.

Also, Vlad is HOT. Literally and figuratively speaking. Every sex scene between him and Leila is scorching. EVERY. SCENE.

Bound by Flames is most definitely a must read, as is the series and author Jeaniene Frost!

BOOK BLURB:

Once burned…

Finding my fiancée naked on my couch might’ve been a good thing, if her ex-boyfriend hadn’t been with her. For the past eight years I’ve been a witness to the power of true love, but after getting burned I’d decided there wasn’t any hope for me finding it for myself. Until I met Noelle Brandt in a hotel bar. Maybe it wasn’t the most romantic meeting, but the moment I met her I knew I had to have her. The more I learn about her, the more I know I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.

Twice shy…

I’d already found the love of my life, but I’d lost that love forever. And I’d been lost ever since. But one night a wounded man makes all of that go away. He makes me laugh, live, and feel alive. When he tells me he has no intention of letting me go, I finally begin to believe in the power of true love again. That is, until I find out who he really is…and by then, it’s far too late to correct the mistakes we’ve already made. By the time we both know the truth, the lines have already been blurred beyond recognition.
