This book was definitely interesting and honestly, I am still uncertain on my exact feelings.

I am a huge fantasy (and paranormal) reader and this book was definitely different from any that I have read in either genre. I struggled with the beginning of this book and even the rest of the way through, found everything very vague for a fantasy read.

I enjoyed the premise of this story, it just lacked of world and character development for a fantasy read (definitely not a paranormal read). The descriptions of the characters were very vague (minus hair color which seemed to be prominent) and while it’s set in today’s world, I felt like it lacking something.

I enjoy the overall idea of this book. There were things that worked for me and things that didn’t. If certain things were more developed, I would have truly loved this book more.

This was my first book by Piper Lawson. I was intrigued by the blurb and wanted to give this new to me author a try.

One thing I wish I knew when I started this book was that it was initially 3 separate books combined into one story. This book took me longer than usual to get through. Did I enjoy – overall, yes. However, there were times when I had to stop, read something else and then come back to this one. While it wasn’t bad enough for me to DNF, there were times it wasn’t holding my attention enough for me to care either. Then when I found that it’s 3 books combined into one, it all made sense to me. And I probably would have appreciated the story line a bit more.

Tyler and Annie’s story spans many years and full of so many different emotions. While the beginning of this story was very slow-paced for me (again had I known it was book 1 of a trilogy probably wouldn’t have bothered me) so I struggled getting immersed into these characters lives at first.

One thing I have to point out that, regardless of knowing this was one book or 3-in-1, was the fluidity of time – these transitions were beautiful and very smooth. As the story moved along, I found myself enjoying it more and more.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and I’m grateful that I didn’t give up when things weren’t to my liking. It definitely won’t be my last book by Piper.

I cannot get over this book. I was hooked from the very beginning and just drug under for the entire duration of this story. Good heavens I never wanted it to end.

Rocco is a man feared by many. Not much can shake him, except Lenora and her one wish. Rocco has never been one to deny himself anything that he wants. But Lenora isn’t exactly freely available to him.

Lenora has been raise in a very controlled lifestyle within the mafia and never defied any of the rules set before her. However, her limit is an arranged marriage. She’s not giving in so little but if she has no say, then she’s at least living out her best life beforehand.

Claire did a brilliant job writing one hell of a tension and angsty filled story. Rocco will do anything to protect Lenora, but who’s going to protect him and Lenora from one another. Their chemistry is off the charts and impossible to ignore.

GAH!! I LOVED IT ALL!!!!

GO READ THIS ONE! And yes, it can be read as a standalone within this series.

I waited a few days after I finished this one to write my review. I really wasn’t sure how I felt about it and wanted to give this book justice.

The Act of Trusting is a college romance. Camden and Blaire have a very awkward, not-so-cute meet-cute and things just go from there.

The blurb gives you the perfect background to know what you are walking into. Camden and Blaire are complete opposites on the college campus – she likes to remain unseen and he’s the center of attention.

I enjoyed the time frame that this story played out. It wasn’t too fast and it wasn’t too slow; things play out naturally and are fairly realistic. I say fairly because there are a few situations that just felt out of sorts.

I enjoyed Camden and his ability to see past the surface along with his innate need to protect Blaires.

Blaire – girl has been through a lot. She’s strong in so many different ways. However, there is one scene that irks me and I feel that it wasn’t given the proper attention and therefore, showed Blaire as weak.

Overall, it’s not a bad read. It’s right down the middle for me. As much as I enjoyed the characters, there wasn’t anything endearing that made either of them standout from others. Again, not a bad thing, just right down the middle enjoyable.
