Can Walker risk his own future and show her how to trust again? Or will the feelings he’s kept hidden for years throw him out of the game before he can even attempt to play?

All it brings is pain, misery and her life falling to shambles. After a very public scandal, her abusive husband takes everything, leaving her to raise two daughters on nothing but charity from others, a hope, and a prayer.
New to the job market, single motherhood, and with two court cases on her plate, the last thing she needs are the butterflies that Walker ignites in her stomach every time he comes around. But with his soothing words, supportive shoulder to lean on, and undeniable gorgeousness, he’s pretty hard to ignore.
Just when it feels like she might be standing on her own two feet, the world comes crumbling down around her. And the man she’s finally allowed into her heart abandons her, once again leaving her to pick up the pieces.
Is there a way to heal all of the broken parts, or will Hannah go down swinging while attempting one more shot at a happily ever after?

Did I really just read a book by Carrie Aarons?? Holy hell on wheels this book was written with so much fire and passion, it was nothing like I had anticipated.
I have read almost every book that Carrie has released in the last few years and this book has a completely different vibe than those. This book is filled with an array of emotions but what really shocked me was the level of angst she brought.
Walker is one of the most patient, loving and very driven men I have ever come across. He’s a legend on the baseball field and has always put his family first. He’s known Hannah since the day she started dating one of his teammates and he’s been respectful of her and that relationship. But that all ends the day Hannah’s secrets are bared to the team.
Hannah thought she had it all until her husband became the monster you read about in news articles. And when their dirty secret comes to light, her life truly unravels and she’s left with nothing. But Hannah has two reasons to keep going and not let her husband knock her down again – her little girls.
Let me tell you – this story is an emotional roller coaster. Hannah is determined to come out of this stronger and not dependent on anyone but herself. Walker just wants to prove to her that what they have is something that she is more than deserving of. But there are a lot of bumps and roadblocks in their path.
I enjoyed this book so incredibly much. I felt every single emotion both these characters went through. I felt myself fighting alongside Hannah and rooting for Walker to not give up. I cried, laughed, screamed and had tears of joy rolling down my cheeks. This was a great book to start my 2021 reading with.
This is Carrie Aarons at her best. With every book release, she continues to grow and become stronger in her talent. If you have never read a book by Carrie, you NEED to read this one. And if you’ve read her before, expected to be blown away.

A mafia romance about love and loss by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series.
…When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. — Mary Elizabeth Fyre
“I’m sorry for your loss.” I would rather be tortured for an eternity than hear those damn words from one more person, as if Claire, my dead fiance, was a cell phone or car keys. How about, I’m sorry your life is over. I’m sorry you want to die too. I’m sorry you see her in your dreams and wake up only to relive the nightmare. I’m supposed to be the strongest of them all. Ash Abandonato, ruler, assassin, made man, brother, friend–instead, I hurt everyone I touch in hopes that they’ll feel even a sliver of the pain that bears down on my shoulders. I didn’t lose. It was taken from me. And it’s all her fault, Annie Smith. I daydream about her death. And then I close my eyes, and I see her soft smile. I feel her touch, her kiss–it was a mistake what we did that night, but I can’t take it back, and now she’s under my father’s protection–my protection. My worst enemy. The woman I’m the most attracted to. I can’t decide if I want to strangle her or kiss her, and now that she’s stuck in my life, my only goal is to make her feel the same loss I do and destroy her in the process. I’ll trick her with my touch. Seduce her with my kiss. And in the end, when my enemy is at her most vulnerable–I’ll bring down an entire Empire and continue my reign as King. Bow down, I’ll say as I bring the Five Families to their knees. Blood in. Never out. Damned.

5++++++++ Stars RVD writes mafia romance like no one else. Just when I thinks he can’t surprise me, break me or get any more created – she delivers another smashing story. I had been vying for Ash’s story since the start of this series. He is an alpha asshole but has to be to protect his family. Annie was there when Ash lost Claire. She was there when he needed to get lost in his grief. And then she was gone only to return slightly different, yet still the same. Rachel wove a story that is not only intense and packed with so much emotion, but the twists and turns along with powerful action scenes just put her mafia stories on another level. My heart was pounding the entire time I read this book and for so many different reasons. I won’t go into details because there’s too much to easily give away even the smallest of spoilers. But I will tell you this: It is impassioned and fierce. This is not a sweet romance. RVD takes your heart, annihilates it, lights in on fire, and then slowly pieces the jagged edges back together in the most healing way possible. Your soul will forever be twisted after reading Destructive King. And you will lover RVD (and Ash) for it.

If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.)
Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.
He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it.
Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.
So why is she still standing there?
It’s been awhile since I have read Adriana’s books. I read her book that was in the Kings of Football series with two other authors back in Dec. 2020 and was intrigued by the secondary characters who were obviously a part of another series. And that is how I found myself vying to get an arc of Reputation because Coy & Bellamy really piqued my interests.
You definitely don’t need to read the first book to quickly and easily see the dynamics of Coy’s family and how Bellamy fits into everything.
And it’s extremely easy to fall in love with these characters. Not just Coy and Bellamy, but this whole huge family will warm your heart over.
Coy may be a music sensation, but at his roots, he just the boy next door who got lost along the way.
Bellamy has always been one of Coy’s closest friends growing up. These two plus Boone and Larissa always hung out when they were kids and even into their high school years. But it was in those high school years that Bellamy and Coy crossed the friendship line a few times, but never forced it passed that.
Now that Coy is home, he wants to figure out why they lost that connection they had as kids and become friends again. But Bellamy refuses to get her hopes up again because Coy will be leaving, again.
Both of these characters grow personally and in their relationship throughout this book. Coy refuses to let Bellamy walk away and slowly, Bellamy lets her walls down and sees that they have both failed in the past in so many ways.
“A life without tears is a life unlived.”
I really enjoyed this story a lot. Adriana’s writing is simple yet keeps your attention to not only the story, but these characters. The book flows smoothly and quickly. This may be listed as an enemies to lover romance but I would also throw in the second-chance aspect too and you have to read out to figure out why.
I am looking forward to see Adriana brings us with Boone’s book.
About the Author: USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own.
She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, and two dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather’s nice and there’s always a piece of candy in her pocket.
Blurb: It started with one night out with the boys.
She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school.
I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.
On paper we didn’t match.
Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.
She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me.
She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm.
But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.
I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time – just a good time.
She’s changed me.
But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.
I loved every single bit of this book. Meghan really brought her A-game with this one.
Holt and Harmony were created for each other. I love their dynamics – even from the rough get-go.
Holt is one their college’s star baseball players. He may come across as being full of himself and arrogant, but once you get to know him, you realize it’s truly a front. He has one the sweetest hearts and is extremely comfortable in his skin. His parents raised him very well.
Harmony wasn’t raised with all the benefits that Holt had, but we still raised by loving parents who encouraged her to follow her dreams. But one she got to college, she had some experiences and that has made her even more jaded towards certain individuals – athletes and rich assholes.
I won’t go into details but watching Holt try and win over from their very first interaction is very entertaining. Holt has never been a quitter and he’s not about to let a look spit-fire rain on his happy parade.
Every single scene flowed perfectly into the next one. And as much as some of the cliché problems arise, Holt and Harmony handle the majority like the college adults they are, except for a few. And I have to say – Meghan nailed those scenes very well in quite a unique way and readers will love the hell out of it.
Bravo Meghan for writing a book that was unique in so many ways and shows readers why you continue to grow in your art.
About Meghan Quinn: USA Today Bestselling Author, wife, adoptive mother, and peanut butter lover. Author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance, Meghan Quinn brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.
