The Romantic Pact is the second book in the Kings of Football series. Each book is a standalone even though you will read about the characters in each book, it’s not necessary to read them in order.

The Romantic Pact is Crew’s story and it’s a friends to lovers romance. It is a slow burn as we get to follow along when Crew and Hazel are sent on a trip through Germany. It’s a great book to read around Christmas or whenever you want those warm fuzzy, holiday feelings.

There isn’t much of the sports aspect in this one aside from knowing that Crew’s last season of college football was horrendous and he’s unsure what’s in store for his future. This story focuses on two friends who lost touch over the years and rekindling that friendship.

Hazel and Crew learn a lot on this journey – not just about themselves, but one another and it’s all thanks to Pops (he broke me in this book). This is probably one of Meghan’s more heartfelt stories with a touch of humor here and there.

The Romantic Pact has a connection to one of Meghan’s other books and once you make that connection (I did early on in the book), you will really enjoy this one even more. But if you haven’t, no worries! You will love this book just as much without that smidge of info.

Bound By Forever is the third book in Young’s True Immortality series and can be read as a standalone, but I would not recommend it. Many of the characters are either introduced in other books and are mentioned as the books are released. However, you don’t need any prior knowledge to read each book. But I would recommend reading them in order so you have a much more fulfilling experience as you read them.

Young’s third book brings us an immortal werewolf sent to find and protect a very powerful fae. Niamh has many enemies that want to find her and kill her. Kiyo made a pact with another immortal to find and keep Niamh safe from her enemies and possibly herself.

And that is all that you are getting from me about this book. I won’t ruin it by spilling the beans accidentally. This story is a slow-burn and it’s necessary with this one. The storyline and how things progress cannot be rushed. You can feel the tension and angst roll off the pages as everything plays out.

Even though each book is showcases a particular couple, there is an underlying plot that is happening throughout each book. I love that Young summarizes a lot to keep readers up-to-date on what has happened without taking away from the story and gives new readers a better insight. As always, we are left with smiles for the current couple but are let eagerly awaiting what we will get in the next book.

If you love paranormal romances, I highly suggest you read this series. Young delivers book after book full of a whole new world with unique characters that we wish could be real.

Mafia Casanova is the start of a new series for Rachel Van Dyken and M. Robison, however this can easily be read as a standalone. Mafia Casanova is a spinoff from both RVD & Robinson’s mafia series but you do not need to read any of those books to start this one.

RVD and Robinson weave a very intricate and enticing story between three best friends. It is told in both past and present times. I truly enjoyed how they placed each puzzle piece as the story played out; the scenes lined up perfectly with one another and allowed the story to unfold and flow beautifully.

Mafia Casanova is the perfect start to a new mafia series by RVD and Robinson. They’ve set the new book up wonderfully and I cannot wait to see where they take us next.

If you are looking for a quick and sweet holiday romance, A Wright Christmas is the book you are looking for.

A Wright Christmas is novella that will feature small glimpses of characters from the Wright Series but you do not need to read any of those to enjoy this one.

The blurb tells you exactly what you get in this story, so I won’t bore you by repeating what the author tells you. What makes this story enjoyable is Isaac and persistence in showing Peyton he won’t be so easy to give up a second time.

This love story is sweet and gives you some warm tingly feelings. I did not notice that I get the deep emotions that I prefer to have in my romance stories, but this was a short book so it was to be expected. There is very little steamy parts and a few unnecessary dramatic parts, but overall, it’s what you can expect from a holiday romance novella.
