A grumpy bartender learns he’s a dad in Kelly Siskind’s latest Bower Boys romance full of second chances, small-town charm, and steamy, slow-burn heat.
For the last ten years, I’ve been living a lie in witness protection. But the drug cartel that put me there isn’t a threat anymore, so I can have my life back. I should be thrilled, right?
Wrong.
The last thing I want to do is go back home and show everyone how far I’ve fallen. I’m not the high-powered lawyer they all expect me to be. I’m just a guy who slings drinks and scowls at the world.
But then I hear about Max, my ex’s ten-year-old son. My ten-year-old son.
I have to go back now. Figure out how to be a dad. Face the love of my life. Make things right with Sadie and earn her trust. Will she have me—or is it too late to reinvent myself as the man she once loved?
Kelly Siskind has delivered another great book in the Bower Boy series.
Demond is the oldest of the brothers and the broodiest of them. Everything was stolen from him when his family was forced into WITSEC because of his father’s choices. He’s never been able to truly deal with everything he lost. But now that he can return to his old life, he’s not sure he wants to until he finds out about Max.
I absolutely loved watching Desmond become more than his grumpy self. I loved watching him get to know his son and learning how he hits into Max’s life. The interactions between those two are my favorite parts of this book. It was just beautiful to watch Des become a better version of himself.
Des and Sadie fell into their familiar relationship with ease. I do wish we had her POV and how she’s handled things in the last ten years without Des around (that is my only gripe) but you can tell these two are fated to be together.
10 Signs You Need to Grovel is chocked full of emotions and will have you loving this small town (and all the people in it), very easily.
Kelly Siskind writes romantic comedies and contemporary romance novels for daydreamers and fantasists everywhere. From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson comes anenemies to lovers, forbidden standalone romance.
Look but don’t touch…
She showed up at my bar with a fake ID, I kicked her out. On her 18th birthday, the following week, she showed up again. Except this time, she was demanding a job. Willing to do whatever it took to get it.
Against my better judgment, she got her way, but I’m not going to make it easy on her. Neither are the guys at the bar.
I have two choices: Pretend she’s mine to protect her. Or deal with the consequences when her five older, overprotective brothers find out what their little sister is up to.
Either way…
It’s going to be hell on me.
Because the enemy is my temptation and like a sinner, I just can’t stay away.
The lovely Ms. Robinson truly knows how to start a series off with a bang!!!
Tempting Enemy was different than I anticipated and I loved it!!
Haven is the youngest amongst her siblings and the only girl. So she’s had enough of her overbearing brothers. She’s learn to be feisty and fight for what she wants. And she has sights set on Hayes.
Hayes does his best to keep Haven away from him. He does everything in his power to keep her safe too. He may not her to get tangled up with him, but he also protects her from others.
I loved everything about Haven and Hayes story. The chemistry is undeniable but that underlying drama that threatens to crush it, is what adds another layer to this story.
Monica – you have outdone yourself with this one. This is going to be one awesome series!!

The Score by Kristen Proby is now live!
I have millions of followers on social media, and it has absolutely nothing to do with my last name. It’s because I’m good at what I do. I work hard, and it has paid off. I’m not a trainer who only talks the talk, either. I walk the walk—or rather, I run the run. It was actually during one of those jogs through the park that I ran into him.
Of course, at the time, I didn’t realize it was the Isaiah “Ike” Harrison, Seattle’s hot new quarterback. All I knew was that I was suddenly pinned under some solid, sexy body, unable to breathe.
But even now, I keep running into Ike in the most unexpected places. And he’s doing everything in his power to convince me that he’s not just a player—in any form of the word. It’s so much more than that. But I’ve been there, done that. I have the mended broken heart to prove it and have no intention of doing it again. Except the frustrating man is convincing, and my walls are quickly lowering—especially when I feel responsible for possibly upending his career.
Is letting him in a mistake? Or will it be the best thing I’ve ever done?

Jasper must have put her under a spell with those soul-deep eyes because after a single night together, they woke up husband and wife. Her only hope is to keep this marriage a secret until it’s annulled. Then she’ll pretend it never happened.
Except Jasper begs her to stay married. To fake it for three months so she can accompany him to a wedding. Maybe she’s lost her mind to agree. But her brooding husband seems desperate. It’s only three months, right? Then she’ll say goodbye to Jasper Vale, and with any luck, hello to her new hotel.

Jasper Vale is the fourth book in Devney’s The Edens series and can be read as a full standalone.
I have been waiting for Eloise’s book since I started this series and I was not disappointed.
First off, I have to say that I love that we got to see Eloise in Vegas and being free for once. That started of this book in the best way and gave us a full circle of who Eloise really is. I loved Eloise from the start of this series and getting to know her even more throughout this book just made me love her.
We got to meet Jasper in the last book, but only knew him as Foster’s trainer. He’s definitely a closed-off individual but as the book progresses, we get to know him better through his interactions with Eloise. He’s got quite the past and it explains a lot.
I loved that I could feel the connection between Eloise and Jasper come to life as I read this book. There are certain scenes I did not care for, but it didn’t hurt my overall love of this book. Eloise’s story was everything I had expected it to be.
Overall, I absolutely enjoyed this book. Another smashing hit in The Edens series.

Compel is co-written by both Rachel Van Dyken and Patti Stanger. The blurb gives you fantasy vibes with a dark twist.
This book was definitely interesting and honestly, I am still uncertain on my exact feelings.
I am a huge fantasy (and paranormal) reader and this book was definitely different from any that I have read in either genre. I struggled with the beginning of this book and even the rest of the way through, found everything very vague for a fantasy read.
I enjoyed the premise of this story, it just lacked of world and character development for a fantasy read (definitely not a paranormal read). The descriptions of the characters were very vague (minus hair color which seemed to be prominent) and while it’s set in today’s world, I felt like it lacking something.
I enjoy the overall idea of this book. There were things that worked for me and things that didn’t. If certain things were more developed, I would have truly loved this book more.

This was my first book by Piper Lawson. I was intrigued by the blurb and wanted to give this new to me author a try.
One thing I wish I knew when I started this book was that it was initially 3 separate books combined into one story. This book took me longer than usual to get through. Did I enjoy – overall, yes. However, there were times when I had to stop, read something else and then come back to this one. While it wasn’t bad enough for me to DNF, there were times it wasn’t holding my attention enough for me to care either. Then when I found that it’s 3 books combined into one, it all made sense to me. And I probably would have appreciated the story line a bit more.
Tyler and Annie’s story spans many years and full of so many different emotions. While the beginning of this story was very slow-paced for me (again had I known it was book 1 of a trilogy probably wouldn’t have bothered me) so I struggled getting immersed into these characters lives at first.
One thing I have to point out that, regardless of knowing this was one book or 3-in-1, was the fluidity of time – these transitions were beautiful and very smooth. As the story moved along, I found myself enjoying it more and more.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I’m grateful that I didn’t give up when things weren’t to my liking. It definitely won’t be my last book by Piper.

Piper lives in Canada with her tall and brilliant husband. She’s a sucker for dark eyes, dark coffee, and dark chocolate.
With too much on my plate, the very last thing on my mind was a relationship—the football draft was looming and dating got in the way. I never understood why my teammates bothered with girlfriends. None of us had the time.
When my sports agent suggested that being seen in public with a respectable girl would begoodfor mybadreputation, I couldn’t think of a single person to help me out. The only girls I knew weren’t wifey material, and the ones who were? Might catch feelings.
Except Ryann Winters.
Responsible. Sarcastic. Smart. Ryann was perfect but there wasoneclincher: she was my teammates ex-girlfriend and I had recently beenpaidby him to dump her.

Lenora De Luca
I’ve always been a good girl. The perfect daughter. The perfect sister. And, in two weeks, I’m supposed to become the perfect wife. I don’t know or like the man my father chose to marry me off to but I have no say in the matter. That’s why when I see Rocco Marchetti, the man I’ve had a crush on my entire life, I decide he’ll be my first. When he looks at me it’s electric and I know he wants me. We keep stealing glances and hiding smiles, but I want more. I want one night with him. So what if I’m the daughter of the most feared man in organized crime? So what if he’s my overprotective brother’s best friend? It’s just one night.
Rocco Marchetti
Lenora De Luca is as forbidden as they get. She’s also kind, and thoughtful, and makes my d . . . makes it hard to think. It starts off innocent enough, just flirting, but then she kisses me and tells me she wants to spend one night with me. It’s wrong on so many levels, but I don’t even try to deny that I want her. I tell myself that it’ll be her wedding present (I know I’m sick, get over it). I’ve had plenty one nightstands that end amicably. Lenora can’t possibly be any different. As long as her brother doesn’t find out, things will be fine. I usually strategize and think through every decision, but something about her makes me walk right into the fire.

Forbidden romance. Sibling’s best friend and childhood crush. Forced proximity and arranged marriage. Then add in the maifia aspect and you get Because I’m Yours by Claire Contreras.
I cannot get over this book. I was hooked from the very beginning and just drug under for the entire duration of this story. Good heavens I never wanted it to end.
Rocco is a man feared by many. Not much can shake him, except Lenora and her one wish. Rocco has never been one to deny himself anything that he wants. But Lenora isn’t exactly freely available to him.
Lenora has been raise in a very controlled lifestyle within the mafia and never defied any of the rules set before her. However, her limit is an arranged marriage. She’s not giving in so little but if she has no say, then she’s at least living out her best life beforehand.
Claire did a brilliant job writing one hell of a tension and angsty filled story. Rocco will do anything to protect Lenora, but who’s going to protect him and Lenora from one another. Their chemistry is off the charts and impossible to ignore.
GAH!! I LOVED IT ALL!!!!
GO READ THIS ONE! And yes, it can be read as a standalone within this series.
Meet Claire
Claire Contreras is a New York Times Bestselling Author who traded her psychology degree to write fiction. Don’t worry, she still uses her knowledge on every single one of her characters.
She’s a breast cancer survivor (x2), who was born in the Dominican Republic, raised in Florida, and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, two adorable boys, and French bulldog.
Her books range from romantic suspense to contemporary romance and are currently translated in over fifteen languages. When she’s not writing, she’s usually lost in a book.
There was a sadness in her clear, gray eyes that I could see she tried to hide. A fight with her inner demons she didn’t want to show anyone…
Camden Collins Life was going well for me. I was on the right track: captain of the soccer team, grades were passing, and I had the respect of my team. Girls threw themselves at me. It was every twenty-year-old’s dream. Then I saw her… One look at her, and it all changed. Something about her drew me in. A sense of protectiveness to guard this small, sad girl. In her eyes, I could see the fight she had within herself…and I wanted to be there for her. To protect her and be someone to lean on while she fought whatever it was. Nothing else seemed to matter but the dark-haired, beautiful girl I couldn’t stay away from.
Blaire Wentworth I wasn’t the same girl I was four years ago. My life was stolen from me one night and I’d never have the chance to get old me back. Now I was just existing, not living. I went through the motions of my everyday routine, staying quiet and keeping to myself. Trusting and letting people in was a constant struggle. Until he showed up… I’d never seen someone like him before. Not once had I described a guy as beautiful, but that’s what he was. He struck something in me, and I didn’t know how to handle that. I was chasing nightmares no one knew about. Ones I kept to myself for a reason. Could I let this new person into my life that I had kept closed off from many for far too long? What if I let my guard down and he ended up destroying me? And that became my greatest fear…
I waited a few days after I finished this one to write my review. I really wasn’t sure how I felt about it and wanted to give this book justice.
The Act of Trusting is a college romance. Camden and Blaire have a very awkward, not-so-cute meet-cute and things just go from there.
The blurb gives you the perfect background to know what you are walking into. Camden and Blaire are complete opposites on the college campus – she likes to remain unseen and he’s the center of attention.
I enjoyed the time frame that this story played out. It wasn’t too fast and it wasn’t too slow; things play out naturally and are fairly realistic. I say fairly because there are a few situations that just felt out of sorts.
I enjoyed Camden and his ability to see past the surface along with his innate need to protect Blaires.
Blaire – girl has been through a lot. She’s strong in so many different ways. However, there is one scene that irks me and I feel that it wasn’t given the proper attention and therefore, showed Blaire as weak.
Overall, it’s not a bad read. It’s right down the middle for me. As much as I enjoyed the characters, there wasn’t anything endearing that made either of them standout from others. Again, not a bad thing, just right down the middle enjoyable.
