Kandi Steiner has revealed the cover for Washed Up!

Releasing: December 6, 2021

It was just another day in the Emergency Department — until she was wheeled in through the doors.

Amanda Parks, my childhood best friend’s mom who I may or may not have secretly kissed before leaving for college.

I haven’t seen her in over a decade, and in so many ways, she hasn’t changed.

Same killer curves.
Same hypnotizing eyes.
Same reaction from my heart when I see her.

But something new?
There isn’t a ring on her finger anymore…
And I’m much more of a man than I was at eighteen.

Washed Up is a stand-alone age gap medical romance coming this winter!

The Bayside Heroes series is a set of four interconnected STAND-ALONE medical romance novels that will have you panting, faking an injury for medical attention and begging for more.⁣

Meet Kandi

Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

She’s baaaaaaack!!! And I am so damn happy!!

Rebellious and Reckless is the start of a new series from Michelle and each book will feature a new couple but they will all be inter-connected. R&R is a great start to the series and an amazing welcome back book!!

This is the first book this year that I read in one sitting – as in I didn’t get up off my ass to do anything while I read this. I was really enthralled with the story and had to see not only how each scene played out, but the mannerisms of these characters and did they stay true to themselves.

This book definitely goes deeper than the blurb. There’s a lot of growth and maturity in this book, but also of reality blended in. Michelle does a great job of staying true to these characters, their ages and their characteristics, which keeps them believable.

Sky may come across as shy, but once readers get to really see her, she’s quite the firecracker. Luke was a surprise to me. I had expected some typical college doucheness to appear and well, Michelle definitely shocked me with this one. Baker is the one who kept me captivated the most; he’s just as surprising but in a different way.

I really enjoyed this story and how things came to fruition and played out. There’s a good bit of sexual tension that keeps readers right at the edge of their seats and has you wondering what is going to happen next between these characters. While I was not thrilled with the quick ending – I am looking forward to the next book and how things progress from there.

Great start to a new series!!

The Girl in the Love Song is exactly why I love contemporary romance books.  This is definitely a YA/NA book but it is one that I think anyone who reads contemporary romance will enjoy.

This was my first book my Emma Scott (I know, I know – scold me later).  And after reading this, I am really not sure why I have not before but this will definitely not be my last.

The blurb of this book gives you a small glimpse of what this book is about but this book is so much more.  This story covers from when Violet and Miller first meet and continues on through becoming adults.  Emma does a phenomenal job of setting the perfect pace with these two from start to finish.

Emma wrote this story beautifully with amazing characters.  She introduces them all in a way that you won’t ever forget any of them but none of the secondary characters overpower the main characters.  The mannerisms and characteristics fit the characters and their age very well, which makes this book so much relatable on different levels.

What I love so much about this story though was feelings expressed and life lessons taught throughout this story.  I am not sure if Emma attempted to do this but they there.  They feelings of empathy, compassion, love, hurt and anger.  The life lessons of seeing beyond what people present themselves as, staying true to who you are, taking risks and never giving up.  This book is so much more than story of love and for that, I love this book that much more.

Emma – thank you for writing a story that touched me in ways I had not expected.  This book was so much more than the surface read that I had anticipated it to be.  I am looking forward to what you bring us next with these Lost Boys.

Becca
Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with him. He became my everything. The only thing standing between me and my happily ever after, he’s also in a relationship with my identical twin sister.

These characters were originally introduced in Alexa Series Duet.

Amazon US: https://goo.gl/918Vk8

Tangled with the Twins truly has so much potential but fell somewhat flat for me. I have read most of Cupak’s books that she has written and know what her potential can be. I will be honest and say that this one felt rushed and needed some work on certain areas. I know the author is listing this as an inter-connected standalone, but the way it is written, I feel that anyone who has not read the Alexa duet, won’t capture these characters or their story correctly. I know that I am in the minority on this, but it’s just my opinion.

Tangled with the Twins is Jeremy, Jessa and Becca’s story. If you read the Alex Duet, then you will know who these three are. If you didn’t, you’ll get an idea of how they are connected to that duet, but I am not sure that you get an understanding of who they are as individuals and came to be where they are today. I feel that development of Jessa, Becca and Jeremy characters was very much glazed over in this book and was too dependent upon knowing their story in the Alexa Duet to fully grasp who they are.

Jeremy and the twins, Jessa and Becca, have had this unconventional relationship between the three of them but it’s always worked out well for them. But as the years passed, things started to shift. Again, where the shift started, happened in the duet and readers who didn’t read that, have to fill in the gaps as to what happened then to see where they are now. Cupak tries to explain briefly what happened but I feel that’s an important part of the story and hurts the connection to these characters.

About the story – all three characters are finally figuring out who they are and what the want out of life. However, lack of communication and lots of secrets that are made worse by lies is what throws a wrench into all their lives. This plot works out well as they all go through these changes in their lives. The underlying plot that involves Jeremy’s job is a continuation of the Alexa duet and readers will be confused on that part if they did not read the duet. There is a lot that goes on in this book; there is not a dull moment which helps keeps the reader invested in the story, but may also confuse new readers. The story is told from all 3 POVs so that definitely helps readers get a better understanding of each character and their thoughts.

Overall, I did enjoy the story, but I also read the duet so I wasn’t too lost reading this. There is a lot that goes on and a lot that needs fleshed out in order for all readers to truly enjoy this book. If the book wasn’t considered an inter-connected standalone, I can see this book working out fine the way it’s currently written. However, there are too many assumptions that need to be made for readers who have not read the duet to understand the dynamics of these characters, their relationship and how it all ties together. If the author wants this to be an inter-connected standalone, the story needs to better written and the focus solely on Jeremy, Jessa and Becca with glimpses of Alexa and Ethan.

Needing Him by Kennedy Fox…Blog Tour & Review

Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor.
Hardass, brooding, and all business.

Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor.
He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.

Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.

After all, some rules are made to be broken.

They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning.

*A contemporary romance with a little Southern drama. This is book 2 in the Bishop Brothers series. Each book features a different brother and can be read as a complete standalone. HEA guaranteed!*
Not suitable for readers under 18 due to adult language and sexual content.

Kennedy Fox has done it again!! I think every book in this series is going to have my loving the next brother more than the last. LOL And I love that they are so different with their personalities and quirks.

Evan didn’t follow in the same footsteps as his brothers and stay to work at the ranch. He felt his calling in another way – becoming a doctor. On his rare days off, he does go to the ranch and help out, but he’s dedicate to his job and loves what he does.

Emily Bell has grown up always knowing she wanted to be a doctor, but didn’t exactly want to follow in her father ways and become a fertility doctor or even work in that environment. She wanted to be in the ER where her day was always a surprise. Living in her father’s shadow was never easy and she worked damn hard to prove to everyone that she got where she was due to her work ethic and not because of who her father is.

When circumstances have Emily moving out of her hometown to start anew, she’s determined to focus on her career and prove once again, this is what she was born for. However, her best friend still wants Emily to live a little and invites her to a wedding as her plus one. But when her best friend Keira ends up bailing on her at the wedding, Emily finds herself having a hard time saying no to one gentleman in a tuxedo.

It’s only one night. Emily does even give him her name. She doesn’t know anyone here and she won’t even see him ever again. Right??

When Evan and Emily meet each other a second, sparks definitely fly, just not in ways that they did the first time. And that’s where everything gets good!!

I love how the dup that is Kennedy Fox lets this one work its out. Evan has this chip on his shoulder and definitely lets Emily have it a few times. But Emily is in no way a pushover and doesn’t let his barbarian attitude turn her away. She goes toe to toe with him and that just aggravates him even more.

I loved all the emotions and dialogue in this book. These may be hotheads, but they also are mature even to talk things and sometimes “work” things out of their systems. There is definitely no shortage of chemistry between them. And Kennedy Fox does a phenomenal job on this and delivers a great transition into the next book.

I caved.

Fuck me. I caved, and now he thinks he’s in control and God’s gift to the world.

Fucking great.

I won’t let him manipulate me with sex. He must not be that smart if he thinks that’s actually going to work. I said those things in the heat of the moment and because I really needed to fucking come, but that doesn’t mean I meant it. Hell, I would’ve told him the sky was purple if that meant he’d give me what I needed.

Regardless, that was really damn hot. The way I yelled at him, and he yelled back, and then we just attacked each other. Every moment of our first night together has replayed in my head since it happened, but now… angry Evan is the one who will haunt me in my dreams. Angry Evan is hot and demanding and knows just how to tease the fuck out of me. I almost hate him for it. Except I could never hate a man who knows how to worship my body like he does.

But God, does he really have to be such a controlling asshole?

I scoop my scrubs and shoes off the floor and adjust my just-fucked hair. Once my top is on, I search for my panties. When I don’t find them on the floor, I shake out my scrub bottoms, but they aren’t there either. What the fuck?

Panic starts to surface at the realization that I lost my damn panties. Shit, shit, shit.

My pager beeps, and it’s painfully obvious I’m going to have to put my pants on without them. Quickly, I finish getting dressed and push my shoes on before grabbing my lab coat and the soiled shirt and flying out the door.

I throw Evan’s shirt in the trash before anyone can see me and ask questions.

Rushing to the nurses’ station for an update, I look around but don’t see any commotion or people scrambling like normal. “What’s going on? You paged me?” I ask, trying to catch my breath.

Fiona looks at me like I’ve gone crazy. She swallows and lowers her eyes before bringing them back up to look at me. She witnessed the heated argument back in the trauma room, and now she looks uncomfortable as hell. “Dr. Bishop asked me to page you. He wanted me to tell you that your break is over and to get back to work.” I can tell she’s uneasy delivering the news, but that doesn’t stop the anger from brewing inside me.

The vein in my forehead is about to burst, but I remind myself to play it cool. For all they knew, Evan sent me on the break to calm down, and now I’m the one looking like a slacker.

“Okay. Thanks.” I pinch my lips together to prevent any further words from spewing out of me. No one can know that Evan and I are…whatever the hell we are. Considering I came to this hospital to make a name for myself all on my own, the last thing I need is people thinking I sleep my way to the top.

Crap.

“Dr. Bell,” Evan barks from the other side of the room. He’s holding a pile of charts in his hands that are no doubt from the huge fire incident that just unfolded.

Taking a deep breath, I put my lab coat on and dig my stethoscope from the pocket and wrap it around my neck. We have to act impartially to each other publicly, but hell, I didn’t realize how hard it’d be now that we’re together.

“Yes, Dr. Bishop?”

He doesn’t even look up at me when I approach him, and I hate that it irritates me.

“I need you on beds seven through fifteen until the next shift rotation, then finish these charts before you leave.” His head tilts up, his lips in a firm line as he piles the stack in my arms. “I also need an update on the Brauer kids once an hour.”

Swallowing, I adjust the charts in my arms to prevent them from falling. I won’t let my pride get in the way of doing my job, and if charts are what I need to do right now, then I won’t make a scene. At least not in front of everyone. However, once we’re alone, I’m going to give him a piece of my mind for treating me like a damn intern again.

“Absolutely. Anything else, sir?” My tone is laced with fake sweetness, and he doesn’t flinch a beat at it.

“Yes, actually.” He takes a step forward and dips his head until his mouth hovers over my ear. “Make sure those charts are done correctly before you leave. I’ll be looking through them extensively.”

“Of course.” I grind my teeth, wishing I could give him a piece of my mind right now.

“And since I know you’re going commando, I won’t ask you to perform any oral procedures.” He winks before walking away, making my blood boil.

That asshole stole my panties!

I caved.

Evan and I suit up in our surgical gowns, gloves and masks but before I can ask for help to tie me up, he’s behind me knotting the ties around my neck and waist.

“Thanks.”

He only nods in response without making eye contact. I see Veronica is already tying him up and that’s when I get the impression she’s his right-hand man. She always has his files ready for him, relays his messages, and I’m pretty sure she handed him a coffee yesterday afternoon.

She’s his work wife.

I giggle a little to myself at the term I’ve heard my dad use about one of his assistants. When you work in the hospital as much as we do, you’re more married to the people you work with than the actual people you’re married to.

“Something funny?” He shoots daggers at me.

“Are you seriously going to scold me for laughing to myself?”

“This isn’t a laughing matter. We have a job to do.”

I roll my eyes, but he walks off before he can see me. You’d think the guy didn’t just get laid last weekend or something by his bad attitude.

The paramedics rush in just moments later and the whole scene unfolds. Three stretchers are brought in with patients with minor injuries and Evan directs them to the three nurses to assess them. An unconscious patient is brought into trauma room one and when the last patient is rolled in, I follow Evan into trauma room two.

“Transfer on three,” Evan orders before counting and the nurses and I help him move the patient off the stretcher and onto the hospital bed.

“Patient is a twenty-nine year old female and was the passenger when she got T-boned on her side. Driver said she smacked her head and couldn’t get her to wake up. BP was at ninety over eighty,” one of the paramedics tells us. Veronica is already hooking her up to the blood pressure cuff and heart rate tracker.

“That blood pressure is too low,” Evan mutters, unwrapping his stethoscope from his neck and listening to her heart. “Her heartbeat is slow and her breathing is unsteady. Bag her.”

Moments later, Veronica hands me the equipment to manually ventilate her and Evan watches as I push the tube down her throat and into her lungs. I’ve done this hundreds of times but with his piercing eyes on me, I get nervous.

“Dr. Bell…” His warning tone has my nerves on fire.

“I’ve got it,” I say, attaching the bag to the mask and pumping.

Once he checks for himself, I roll my eyes when his expression doesn’t change. He orders Veronica to check the head wound where blood is pooling and Heather places an IV in the woman’s arm so she can administer medication.

“She has a pretty deep cut near her right temple. Going to clean it up and probably need some stitches,” she tells Evan.

“She might have some internal bleeding, so let’s get radiology in here to do some scans while her breathing is stable for now.”

Evan gets radiology within minutes since they’re in the next room. Once the x-rays are done and processed, we see she has a bleed in her spleen.

“Ruptured spleen,” Evan confirms what I already knew.

“Her abdomen must’ve been hit pretty hard,” I say, handing off the ventilator bag to Heather so I can look at the x-rays more closely.

“Or she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.” Evan’s body tenses and his eyes go dark. His mood shifts, and I wonder what the hell just happened. “Veronica, she needs to be prepped for surgery. Page me when she’s in recovery,” he orders before facing me. “Stay with Veronica and help her prep the patient then find me.”

He walks off before I can respond.

I do as he says and help Veronica while the trauma surgeon comes in all ready to go. We roll her down to the OR and once she’s securely inside, Veronica and I walk out.

“Good job, Dr. Bell,” she praises me, which takes me off guard a bit. I don’t even feel like I did that much, but I smile at her compliment.

“Thanks. You too. You’re the superhero of nurses.” I smile.

She blushes, a small smile gracing her lips. “Thanks, I love my job. Dr. Bishop makes it easy to do my job well.”

My stomach twists at her words, wondering if that means what I’m thinking. Does Veronica have a thing for Evan? I mean, I wouldn’t blame her in the least, but this is only my second shift so who the hell knows.

“It’s obvious you two make a great team. I envy that.”

“We do. It’s nice.” She smiles wide, and that’s all the confirmation I need that she definitely has feelings toward him.

Once we’re back to the ER, I find Evan and wait for his next order. The other three patients are in beds and all stabilized with minor injuries. The other unconscious patient is a child and I rush in to help once Evan calls for my assistance.

“She’s crashing,” one of the nurses shouts, announcing the code.

Evan grabs the crash cart and I add the gel to the paddles before I charge it to three hundred and he shouts, “Clear!”

He shocks her chest and her heart begins beating again. She’s so little, I’m relieved that we don’t have to do it again.

“Bag her,” Dr. Moody orders.

Veronica hands me the tube and supplies, but the tube is too big. “Her throat is too swollen.”

“Here,” she says, handing me a smaller sized one.

I’m quick to grab it and attempt it once again with no luck.

“Veronica, take over for Dr. Bell.” Evan’s tone is cold and harsh.

“I can do it,” I bite out, trying again but the way he’s scolding me with his eyes has my nerves all over the place. I can do this in my sleep, so my frustration grows the longer it takes.

“Veronica, now.”

“I said I got it!” I shout, but it doesn’t matter because Veronica grabs the tube from me and pushes me out of her way. She manages to ease the tube down her throat and quickly attaches everything together.

“Compress the bag,” Evan directs his order at me, keeping his eyes down as he assesses her other injuries that have already been checked. Veronica steps aside so I can take over ventilating. My blood is boiling, but I know I need to remain calm and indifferent right now.

Two hours later, the ER is calm again but that doesn’t mean my annoyance has died down. Evan continues his bossy demeanor, and I’m so irritated with myself that I let him get to me. I’ve done that procedure so many times in my career and have never had issues, but him watching me and shouting made my nerves get the best of me.

I’m sitting in front of my locker, taking angry bites of my licorice when I hear the door behind me open. I immediately know it’s him when the hair on the back of my neck stands up, and I prepare myself for an ass chewing.

“That’s a gross habit,” he starts, walking to his locker that I realize is next to mine.

I snort at his first choice of words. “Eating?”

He scoffs, digging around his bag. “That isn’t eating. It’s high in sodium and carbs and filled with corn syrup.”

“Well I could be a smoker. Or drinker.” I smirk. “Or I could—”

“Or you could eat food that’ll help sustain your energy levels instead of falling asleep on the job.”

“I did not fall asleep on the job!” I stand up, appalled at his accusations.

“Could’ve fooled me.”

“You screaming and shouting at me while I’m trying to do something isn’t how I work!”

“You want to be an ER doctor at a trauma hospital?” he taunts, stepping right into my space. “Then act like it. There’s no time for emotions or your feelings to get hurt. You focus on the patient and you get your shit done. Bagging is med school 101 so forgive me if I have my doubts about you, Dr. Bell.”

We’re both breathing hard and my heart races at an intense speed. Knowing what he looks like under those scrubs has my brain malfunctioning on a witty response. I want to grab his face and kiss the attitude right out of him, but I won’t let him win.

“Though considering your last name, I expected more from you.”

His words sting and I know he said them to get under my skin, but I won’t give him the satisfaction that it hurt. I ignore him and pretend it doesn’t phase me at all.

“Goodnight, Dr. Bishop. Hope you sleep well,” I say smugly, widening my smile before taking another bite of my licorice.

I see the corner of his lips twitch and the thought of driving him crazy the same way he does to me makes me do a little victory dance in my head.

“Sweet dreams, Dr. Bell.” He reaches for his bag and before he turns, grabs the half-eaten piece of licorice out of my hand and walks out.

Bastard.
