Once Forbidden, Twice Shy by Carrie Aarons is live!
Running from your problems only brings you hurtling face first into even worse baggage.
After experiencing a brutal trauma in New York that I’d rather bury than address, escaping to a new job in London seems like the perfect solution. That was before I was introduced to my new boss, who is none other than my brother’s best friend. You know, the one I’ve been head-over-heels in love with forever.
Jack Merrick had been my crush since I knew what one was. For years we fought the feelings; I didn’t want to humiliate myself and his excuse was not betraying my brother or parents, who had accepted him as their own. Then, the night of my college graduation party, he undressed me in my childhood bedroom and confirmed that there was no one else on this earth for him but me.
When I woke the next morning he was gone, off to take a job as a coder halfway around the world. Four years and a mangled heart later, Jack is the last person I expect to see in London, and something close to fate is tricking me into thinking this is more than a coincidence. Our shared love of programming has always connected us, but now it’s the thing we’re weaponizing to get back at each other.
Until one night, when the emotional scars from my attack resurface and he’s the only one to witness a massive breakdown. He coaxes out my secrets and swears to love and protect me like he couldn’t before. But with everything stacked against us, I’m not sure we can ever have what we’ve always dreamed of.
Except just as we’re beginning to tackle those obstacles, I learn the truth of why he left all those years ago. And suddenly there may be no future for us at all.
Author of romance novels such as Fool Me Twice and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.
When she isn’t writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in the suburbs of New Jersey with her husband, two children and ninety-pound rescue pup.
Carrie delivers another sugary sweet romance that readers will absolutely enjoy.
Once Forbidden, Twice Shy is Taylor & Jack’s story. Jack had always been in love with Taylor but never allowed it to be more because she’s his best friend’s sister.
Taylor reciprocated those feelings but after one night when she finally thought she’d be getting the guy she always crushed on, he crushed her heart.
Now, years later they both find themselves in a whole other country working for the same company. But an even bigger kicker is that he’s her boss.
Carrie did a brilliant job of writing these two characters. They’re both very independent and strong-willed but together, they’re absolutely amazing.
Jack has always been confident in himself, except when it comes to Taylor. She keeps him on his toes in various ways.
Taylor has a very determined personality but she’s also fragile. She’s had her trust broken and her safety shaken. She’s always been able to find security in Jack, no matter what.
Carrie delivered a heartwarming story with some mild drama that is quickly taken care of. The characters handle things (mostly) like the mature adults they are & when they don’t, there’s others to knock sense into them.
Once Forbidden, Twice Shy is a quick second-chance, romance that’ll readers will thoroughly enjoy, start to finish.
50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover by Kelly Siskind is now live!
From Kelly Siskind comes a slow-burn romantic comedy about one man’s creative attempt to win back his high school sweetheart after a change in fortune gives them a second chance at love.
Growing up, I had it all—my art, close friends, a gorgeous girlfriend who owned my heart—but then my life exploded.
Turns out my father was laundering money, and my whole family got shoved into witness protection. No notice. No chance to explain. I was ripped away from beautiful, blue-eyed Delilah Moon, shattering both our worlds.
A decade later, fate has given us a second chance.
The cartel my father worked for has been wiped out. I’ve returned to my hometown, determined to win back the love of my life. But Delilah is engaged.
Or . . . is she?
I’m almost positive she’s lying about her fiancé to protect her heart. Which means I need to up my game.
I’ve made a list of fifty ways to prove we’re meant to be. Except Delilah’s barely looking at me, never mind swooning. I have a feeling my disappearance scarred her more than she’s admitting, and no one in town will tell me what happened . . .
Author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance, Kelly Siskind moved from the city to enjoy the charm of northern Ontario. When she’s not out hiking or home devouring books, you can find her, notepad in hand, scribbling down one of the many plot bunnies bouncing around in her head.

I can’t remember the last time I read a book that was told solely from the male’s POV. Bravo Kelly on nailing your character’s voice.
This was definitely a slow-burn romance. Lots of groveling, alot of memories being rekindled and just watching two loves rekindle their romance.
Kelly has to do a lot of plot development for this entire series in this first book and introduce all the characters too without taking away from the main plot of this book. While it was great and reads perfectly, it definitely wasn’t holding my interest as much as I had hoped. I wasn’t itching to turn the pages til about 60% of the book.
I truly loved watching Edgar grow in this book. He’s literally lived a lie for the last ten years and now he can finally be himself again. It’s really difficult thing to do when everyone else has moved on.
Edgar and Delilah’s story is filled with lots of emotions. I went from laughter to sadness and then grinning like a cheeseball. These two have a connection that is once-in-a-lifetime and you can feel that coming off the pages. And not sure the author meant to do this or not, but the name of a resort in this book made me think of the movie Dirty Dancing. I enjoyed that whether is was a nod to that movie or not.
While this one started off a bit slow for me, it definitely didn’t deter me from continuing. I loved their story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Bower brothers.
It has the power to take everything from you—even yourself. It’s why I stay clear.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m a big fan of insta-lust. The kind that only lasts as long as the heat does. Come morning? It’s a whole new day. That’s why, when I meet the perfect girl at a wedding, I know, for the next couple of hours, I’m going to love every little succulent inch of her.
That’s until she tricks me, leaving me high and dry, literally.
It’s now my mission to find out who she is.
Makayla
My life couldn’t be going any worse. Falling apart would put it mildly. Comparing it to a dumpster fire sounds more accurate. And now, I’m being forced to move back home, a place I swore I would never return to.
When the one person I’ve spent my entire life hating walks back into my life, it finally pushes me over the edge.
He’s still so arrogant. So full of himself. And still has a way of lighting a fire inside me.
I need to stop looking at him the way he’s looking at me.
But everything will go up in flames once he finds out who I am.

Enemies with Benefits was definitely more than I expected and I really enjoyed it.
J.D. wrote a unique enemies to lover story with a thrilling twist to their story.
Mak and Ben were much enemies til Mak unexpectedly moved away. Now they are both at a mutual friend’s wedding, except one of them doesn’t realize it til it’s too late. And that’s the start of their whirlwind journey.
I am not giving anything else away because then it would take away from the tension and angst that J.D. fills these pages with perfectly. There is no love-loss between these two but as adults, the chemistry is explosive!!
I loved the banter amongst everyone, but especially Mak and Ben. These two are true fire in so many ways together.
J.D. wrote this story beautifully. She kept true to the characters and their mannerisms. I loved that she added a thrilling layer to this book to give it more depth and go beyond just the enemies to lovers story. While I was able to figure things out fairly early on, I still enjoyed the story.
Enemies to Benefits is more than what you think – don’t pass this one up.

The Scandal is an all-new marriage of convenience, age-gap novel set in the Single in Seattle Series, featuring Stella McKenna
The Scandal by Kristen Proby is now live!
Who knew that weddings in Vegas were the real deal? I certainly didn’t when I agreed to marry my co-worker while on a bender in Sin City. Now, I need a quick annulment, which means I need an attorney, STAT.
Honestly, with a name like Grayson Sterling, Esquire, I expected an old man in a three-piece suit. But the guy behind the desk is anything but stuffy and old. Tall and sexy with tattoos and striking blue eyes, I simply can’t take my eyes off him, and I have no intention of declining his offer of a date…and more. So much more!
The conversation between us is good, and the man should win awards for his bedroom escapades. I find myself trusting him in ways I never thought I would–until he breaks that trust.
Gray insists he can fix it.
He claims he loves me.
But I don’t know if we can survive this.

The Scandal is a standalone romance within Proby’s Single in Seattle series.
I’m not normally one for insta-love stories but when it’s done right, I really enjoy them. And this is another that I absolutely enjoyed.
Stella finds herself needing to get an annulment and quickly. When she walks into the office of the attorney handling the paperwork, she’s knocked back a few steps. Grayson may be slightly older but there is an air about him that she finds absolutely attractive. And Grayson doesn’t mix words in letting her know just how he feels about her.
Kristen delivered this story with the perfectly. The pacing and timing of everything is right on the mark. I love the maturity of both Stella and Grayson and it just feeds into their attraction for one another. The secondary characters definitely add another layer into the story and just keep things very well rounded.
Another great book from Kristen!

New York Times Bestselling author J. Sterling brings you a steamy story about a dirty talking pro-football player who doesn’t take no for an answer and the woman who is trying her best to resist him.
I don’t date my clients.
Being the top relocation specialist for professional athletes- a woman has to have rules. And that’s the only one I need. The only one that matters. The only one I’ve lived by since starting my own company.
But when Crew Maxwell walks through my office door with his cocky attitude, arrogance and downright delicious body, I’m half tempted to throw my rule straight out the window.
Crew doesn’t help matters; flirting with me at every turn, telling me he’s different than the other athletes I’ve known in the past, all while trying to convince me to go out with him.
But I don’t date my clients. And why would I break my rule for him? I don’t date my clients.

Summer Lovin’ is the fifth novella in Sterling’s Fun for the Holiday’s series but they are all standalones.
Summer Lovin’ features Crew, a recently traded quarterback and Summer, the football team’s resident transition manager.
Summer helps newly traded players with getting settled into their new territory by helping them find housing, cars – pretty much whatever they need in order for the player to focus on their job. She has sworn off all athletes so when Crew waltzes into her office an throwing the same swag and doting words at her like every other player to cross her threshold, she shoots him down immediately.
Crew is not one to give up so easily. And he doesn’t see Summer as a conquest to work out of his system. Crew sees Summer as so much more, but he knows that he has a tough road ahead of him.
I loved this book so much. Sterling delivers a sweet and sexy novella that will have readers salivating by the end. Truly, a great and quick summer read.
I lean back against his chest while I grind against him. “Tell me how it feels for you.” His lips fall to my ear, and he whispers, “Familiar.” The instant the word is out of his mouth, my heart thumps chaotically against my ribcage because I know exactly why he would say that. “Tell me you remember that night after senior prom.” His words are so soft and airy, they tickle my neck and linger there for a long beat before he speaks again. “We were all camping out in the woods, and you and I had decided to share our own tent.” Heat billows through my body at the memory. “Everyone was having the loudest sex. We were trying not to laugh,” I add. “You were trying not to laugh,” he says. “That’s right.” My cheeks heat. “Because I was muffling you.” “So I started tickling you.” “And we started wrestling.” My skin is scorching, thanks to the very vivid memory. I remember that night well, not because of what happened between us in that tent but because Jami was the only one who had asked me to our senior prom. Heartbroken, I told Jami I wasn’t going, and that was when he asked me. It ended up being one of the best nights of my life. “You were wearing that sexy little red tube dress.” His tone becomes raspy with his words. “You had stripped down to your boxer briefs.” His nose grazes my cheek. “And you had a— what’d you call it again?” “A wardrobe malfunction.” He chuckles with his next groan. “Yeah, that’s it. Your tits came bouncing out, and I couldn’t stop staring.” There’s a whirring in my chest as I sneak a look at him. “And I let you.” He sighs as his eyes flutter closed then back open. “I wanted you to look. I wanted you to do more than look.” My mind fogs as I continue to move for Jami while imagining myself right back in that tent with him. Back when there was still the possibility of something more. I still remember the shock that lit up his face when my tube top slipped down. He had my hands pinned behind my head and his knees between my thighs when it happened. Just like that, my bare breasts and hard nipples were the focus of his attention. He looked so hungry sitting there, his tongue sliding around his lips so slowly I thought I might die if he didn’t kiss me. But it wasn’t my lips he leaned down to kiss. When he lowered his head, the movement was so still that I knew it was on purpose. He was asking for permission without actually saying the words. I had plenty of time to push him away, to tell him no, to pull my top back up before we laughed it off like it never happened. I swear, a chorus erupted in a rendition of Hallelujah when his mouth finally touched down. A warm breeze from his heavy breathing hit my nipple first, creating an ache between my thighs. His lips grazed me next, causing my entire body to shiver beneath him. But when he took my nipple into his mouth, sucked, and started flicking it with his tongue, my need for relief was so intense that all I could do was work my hips to rub against him. Coming back to the present, I still feel like I’m floating somewhere in between. “You’re so big for me,” I croak out to him. “Just like you were in that tent.” He lets out a desperate breath in my ear. “You didn’t believe me when I told you to keep grinding on my cock until you came.” “So I told you I wanted to test your theory. You gripped my waist and moved with me.” “I was hitting you as deep as I could, but our underwear was in the way.” He’s right. Neither of us had dared remove another layer. We were both virgins, and still just friends despite all the time we spent together and the number of intimate moments we had shared in the past. It had been an unspoken agreement that we didn’t cross that line even though we were steadily approaching the point of no return. “You flipped us so I could ride you. Remember that?” I use that opportunity to flip myself around so we’re face to face. I continue my rocking, the friction sparking my core. “It felt so good when I finally came. Like fireworks were shooting off in my body.” His mouth parts slightly. “I wanted to be inside of you so fucking bad that night.” “I wanted that too.” I’m so lost in him, in us, in the past, that I almost forgot my mission. I was going to tease him until he was close to climax and then abandon him to teach him never to come back to my place of work again. But I don’t know if I can do that anymore. Not when these feelings I’ve kept buried for so long keep rising to the surface. “Still do.” Pain lances across his face, my words striking him deeply. “Let me touch you, Vi. Where can I touch you?” His words—an ice-cold bath of reality—hit me hard. This moment we’re sharing isn’t special like the one we once had together. This one is muddled with present-day confusion, painful secrets, and dark desires. I’m wearing a mask, for fuck’s sake. And we’re on camera. This isn’t real. With my heart beating triple its normal speed, I seize all movement and slide off his lap. “Time’s up.”

Moments in Time is Allen’s newest interconnected standalone romance featuring the Bexley brothers. This book centers around Jamison and his high school best friend, Violet. Violet and Jamison had been best friends growing up and well into college. They supported one another and were there for each other through everything. They also even shared firsts with one another. Then one moment happened and that destroyed everything between them. I won’t go into much detail as I enjoyed not only the story but these characters so much. I really enjoyed getting to know both of these characters as individuals, as best friends and as a couple. Moments in Time is told in both past and present from both Jamison and Violet’s POV. Allen gives readers a well-rounded look into this story and I truly enjoyed it. It was like walking down memory lane with two of your closest friends that reconnected later in life. This was another beautiful story from Ms. Allen and I cannot wait for the next Bexley brot
I didn’t plan to marry a reclusive heiress. Lucky for me, I find myself attracted to my beautiful new bride. Our arranged marriage connects two powerful companies. That we’re compatible between the sheets is a bonus, but I didn’t bargain on her ex showing up at the wedding reception uninvited.
That pushed me right over the edge.
I protect what’s mine, and Charlotte is now mine, whether she likes it or not. Our honeymoon is a disaster in paradise. I’m angry. She’s resentful. All those swirling emotions explode in the most physical ways.
But even as I’m drawn closer to my new wife, there’s still a threat looming out there. Seamus McTiernan is determined to destroy what we’ve created.
I won’t let anything tear us apart.

Title: My Professor
Author: R.S. Grey
Genre: Romantic Comedy
About My Professor:
Young and naïve—those are his exact words.
Professor Barclay views me as a nuisance, a disruption of his otherwise obedient class and perfectly regimented life. His bad impression of me stems from a simple misunderstanding, and when that impression sours from bad to worse, he decides to make an example out of me in front of the entire class. Every other female student in that auditorium looks on, longing to trade places with me, wishing they were the object of his attention. It’s humiliating. I want nothing to do with him or the tension growing between us, but he feels inescapable.
Deep down, I know I have a crush on him. It’s a shameful feeling I refuse to give life to.
Not that it matters—nothing can come from it. Besides our mutual dislike for one another and the fact that he’s my professor, there’s an age gap that should be warning enough.
While we might cross the line once—the dark glance across a dimly lit bar…the metallic sound of the bathroom door locking behind us…his hand slowly sliding up my skirt—I know it’s a boundary I can’t break again.
Now, more than ever, he’s off-limits.
After four years apart, I’m a brand-new hire at his firm. I’ve convinced myself he won’t remember me. I’m safe here in the wolf’s den.
It’s funny, isn’t it? How easily we can delude ourselves if only we want something bad enough.
Nothing has changed.
That same friction roils between us. My gaze still flees from the chill of his glacier blue eyes. At times it seems the only difference is how I respond to his commands.
He’s my new boss, so it’s no longer “Yes, Professor”.

My Professor is Grey’s newest release and is a fairly quick read.
I am honestly quite torn on this one. While I loved the premise of this book and how things played out, I struggled with the connection between Jonathan and Emelia.
This book is told in two parts. Part One is where Jonathan Emelia first meet; he’s the professor of one of her classes. And that is where the “sorrid” first encounter occurs. It’s a very short part of the book but it establishes the allure that they both have for another.
Fast forward four years, and that is where Part Two starts. Emelia is finding herself in a job she doesn’t like and being cheated on by her boyfriend. She applies for a position at Jonathan’s company for one her dream jobs and ends up getting the job on her own merits. Jonathan isn’t even aware that she’s working for his company til their first company meeting.
It’s during this part two where the back and forth kick back between Jonathan and Emelia. While I loved the angst and tension between the two of the, I had a really tough time seeing past more than the lust and attraction. The back and forth is more of an internal battle on both their parts and never getting to know one another past that physical attraction. This is where I struggled. Once things started to move in the right direction, I wanted more.
While I struggled to with the connection, which is a key component in these books, it was the writing that kept me engaged and wanting to see where this story would go. Rachel’s writing is gripping and enthralling, which allows the reader to still love the story. If I felt the connection between Jonathan and Emelia, this would have been a 5 star book, hands-down.
Overall, it was an entertaining and a fairly quick read for me. I am hoping that we get a story about Emelia’s “brothers” in future books.
