Cover Reveal….The Trade by Meghan Quinn

THE TRADE COVER REVEAL!!

MQTheTradeBookCover55x85_HIGH

Can you pinpoint a time in your life where you realized you are completely and utterly screwed?

I can. I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes.

I was traded. Yeah, that phone call.

Traded from my long time team of over ten years. And not just to any team, but my childhood rivals; the Chicago Rebels.

Completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns.

I met a girl. Natalie. Man, she’s perfect.

I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. Too complicated. But can you believe I have zero restraint when it comes to this girl? I couldn’t get her out of my head and the more I talked to her, the more I realized I needed her in my life.

So what’s the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can’t stop crushing on, yeah . . . she’s married.

At least, that’s what I was told . . .

Blurb:

When my best friend died of cancer just before her eighteenth birthday, she left her coveted bucket list to me.
The things she already crossed off? Skinny dipping, going to Paris, completing the local hot wing challenge, road tripping to the ocean, and sending out a message in a bottle.
So, it falls on me to finish it for her, to honor her memory. In the next year, it’s my mission to:
1. Dye my hair

2. Have sex

3. Camp out in a tent

4. Go bungee jumping

5. Get revenge on Lincoln Kolb
Most are doable, some terrify me, and then there is the last item on the list. When the raven-haired football god dumped my best friend during senior year of high school, she was devastated. The jerk with charm for days found out she was sick, and betrayed her in the worst way possible.
But he doesn’t know me, I went to school a town over. Now, to fulfill my promise, I’m the newest freshman on the campus where he is the big man. If there is one thing, aside from cheap beer, that a jock can’t pass up, it’s a shiny new girl.
So when I catch his eye, play hard to get, and then fall into his bed, I know my scheme is working to perfection. But what Lincoln can’t see coming is the beatdown I have planned for his ice-cold heart.
Unfortunately, what I never saw coming was the one he had planned for mine.

Cover Reveal….Life of Debauchery Duet by M. Robinson

From the First Verse
Release Date: March 24
Dear diary,
Once upon a time…
There was a girl with long golden hair who had the truest, bluest eyes that turned white when she cried.
She lived in a kingdom far, far away in a tower made of stone, but her mind was made of glass that she kept sharp as knives.
Where her memories hid behind her darkest doubts.
Her deepest thoughts.
Her diary became the only thing she could rely on.
No one saw through her looking glass.
No one cared.
No one tried
Until the villain presented himself as the hero in her life.
He took and took and took some more.
With no regret.
With no shame.
With no apology.
The page never turned.
Their story didn’t end.
Tomorrow never came.
His life of debauchery was their journey to nowhere.
She’d give anything to go back in time.
To walk where she had walked.
To see what she had seen.
One step.
One breath.
One day at a time.
Though in the end, “I love you” were just words.
That destroyed us inside.

Jeremy
It started out as fun and games. We were never supposed to be anything more than temporary. But, before I knew it, I was in the middle of an unconventional relationship with sisters—twin sisters.
Becca
Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with him. He became my everything. The only thing standing between me and my happily ever after, he’s also in a relationship with my identical twin sister.
Jessa
What happens when you and your sister willingly agree to share the same boyfriend? Secrets, lies, and misunderstandings begin to shadow the relationship—that’s what happens.

These characters were originally introduced in Alexa Series Duet.

Tangled with the Twins truly has so much potential but fell somewhat flat for me. I have read most of Cupak’s books that she has written and know what her potential can be. I will be honest and say that this one felt rushed and needed some work on certain areas. I know the author is listing this as an inter-connected standalone, but the way it is written, I feel that anyone who has not read the Alexa duet, won’t capture these characters or their story correctly. I know that I am in the minority on this, but it’s just my opinion.

Tangled with the Twins is Jeremy, Jessa and Becca’s story. If you read the Alex Duet, then you will know who these three are. If you didn’t, you’ll get an idea of how they are connected to that duet, but I am not sure that you get an understanding of who they are as individuals and came to be where they are today. I feel that development of Jessa, Becca and Jeremy characters was very much glazed over in this book and was too dependent upon knowing their story in the Alexa Duet to fully grasp who they are.

Jeremy and the twins, Jessa and Becca, have had this unconventional relationship between the three of them but it’s always worked out well for them. But as the years passed, things started to shift. Again, where the shift started, happened in the duet and readers who didn’t read that, have to fill in the gaps as to what happened then to see where they are now. Cupak tries to explain briefly what happened but I feel that’s an important part of the story and hurts the connection to these characters.

About the story – all three characters are finally figuring out who they are and what the want out of life. However, lack of communication and lots of secrets that are made worse by lies is what throws a wrench into all their lives. This plot works out well as they all go through these changes in their lives. The underlying plot that involves Jeremy’s job is a continuation of the Alexa duet and readers will be confused on that part if they did not read the duet. There is a lot that goes on in this book; there is not a dull moment which helps keeps the reader invested in the story, but may also confuse new readers. The story is told from all 3 POVs so that definitely helps readers get a better understanding of each character and their thoughts.

Overall, I did enjoy the story, but I also read the duet so I wasn’t too lost reading this. There is a lot that goes on and a lot that needs fleshed out in order for all readers to truly enjoy this book. If the book wasn’t considered an inter-connected standalone, I can see this book working out fine the way it’s currently written. However, there are too many assumptions that need to be made for readers who have not read the duet to understand the dynamics of these characters, their relationship and how it all ties together. If the author wants this to be an inter-connected standalone, the story needs to better written and the focus solely on Jeremy, Jessa and Becca with glimpses of Alexa and Ethan.

Swallowing lies has never felt so good.
Reed freaking Rivers. I wouldn’t trust a word out of the arrogant music mogul’s mouth if his gold-plated tongue were notarized. The Man with the Midas Touch would say anything to get me into his bed, and I know it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want him to succeed.
Indeed, the moment I laid eyes on Reed while he was speaking at an on-campus event I’d crashed, my body physically ached to feel his golden fingers—and tongue—all over me. Unfortunately, though, I can’t give into my powerful craving to jump Reed’s cocky bones. Not until I’ve figured out my best strategy with him . . .
The truth is Reed has something I desperately want. Something my heart desires even more than my body craves one night of delicious fun with the yummiest man alive. Reed assumes he’s running this game of seduction. He thinks he’s a thirty-four-year-old big cat on the prowl, and I’m nothing but a blushing twenty-one-year old field mouse with stars in my eyes.
Yeah . . . no.
As Reed is about to find out, he’s not the only cat on the hunt in this game of cat-and-mouse . . . .
BAD LIAR is the first book of the standalone REED RIVERS TRILOGY. The full trilogy is BAD LIAR, BEAUTIFUL LIAR, and BELOVED LIAR, to be read in order.

Bad Liar is my first Lauren Rowe book. It came across my radar because I have a love for rockstar romance or stories within the music industry and this one definitely piqued my interest.

I truly enjoyed this book. Reed and Georgiana are two individuals who have no problems stating what is on their mind and not backing down when being pushed.

Reed is a very confident (sometimes overly cocky) music mogul who knows where he stands in this world. He has no qualms about showing off his wealth but he also takes care of those who mean most to him. Reed isn’t one for committed relationships and makes that clear upfront with whomever he is interested in sleeping with.

Georgiana is a recent college graduate and is doing everything she can to not only help her father, but make sure that she finds herself the best journalistic job she can find. She’s not ready to settle down and has no issue with expressing herself to others that marriage isn’t currently on her radar. As a woman, this isn’t always viewed well and she has no problems with her fiery personality putting people in their places.

Reed and Georgie are woven from the same cloth. Reed has never encountered another woman like her and one that has no problems telling him to fuck off. However, Georgie knows that she currently has this addiction to assholes – she hates to want them. So while her mind and common sense tell her Reed is nothing but a dick, her body has other ideas.

This story is definitely sparks and fire everywhere. Lauren does a great job of giving us the background on both these characters and explaining how they gotten to where they are in life now. This book is very fast paced and Lauren keeps everything from interesting. There isn’t any real slow down in the book, which I appreciate because that could easily happen when trying to give readers background on characters.

I am sure many of you are wondering I enjoyed this book so much and don’t really have anything bad to say about the plot, why not 5 stars?? For me, it’s the writing – something is missing for me. Also, I am not fan of the chopped off ending – I feel like we ended in the middle of a scene. I understand there has to be a cutoff somewhere but this one just felt too abrupt. Am I left with this craving of wanting more – yes. However, I was expecting another chapter, not a complete cutoff with the next book starting at that point.

All in all – yes, this is a great start to a new series for Lauren Rowe. Any romance reader will love the tension and banter between Reed and Georgie. Lauren definitely sets the stage for what is to come and I really hope that there is more to story between Reed and Georgie.

About the Author:
USA Today and internationally bestselling author Lauren Rowe lives in San Diego, California, where, in addition to writing books, she performs with her dance/party band at events all over Southern California, writes songs, takes embarrassing snapshots of her ever-patient Boston terrier, Buster, spends time with her wonderful family, and narrates audiobooks.
Much to Lauren’s thrill, her books have been translated all over the world in multiple languages and hit multiple domestic and international bestseller lists. With enticing characters, enthralling situations and a general love of romantic fiction, Lauren has created a world of her own, full of wit and sensual desire.

Ritual, Book 5 in the Palm South University series by bestselling author Kandi Steiner, is coming July 30, 2020!Ritual.png

Written like your favorite drama television show, the Palm South University series has been called “a mix of Greek meets Gossip Girl with a dash of Friends.” Follow seven college students as they maneuver unrequited love, teacher/student romance, the tangles of “no strings” relationships, love triangles and more. Cover Designer: Kandi Steiner

About Kandi:

Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a diehard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer, and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

I never wanted to be a royal.

I could leave that to my older brother and sister and be happy.

I’d rather see the world, experience life with unjaded eyes, and meet people who liked me based on something other than their expectations.

Gentry Barrington saw exactly who I was the first time we met, the real me.

My title wasn’t part of the equation.

It was our connection that made the impression…

And maybe our kiss that stopped time, it was so good.

He had no idea how young I was.

I had no idea how old he was.

But sometimes appearances did matter, and there were rules that must be followed…

Or else the forbidden became too alluring to ignore.

Chapter Reveal….Waiting For My Queen by Georgia Cates

🔥🔥 CHAPTER REVEAL 🔥🔥

Are you dying to get your hands on Waiting for my Queen by Georgia Cates?! You are in for a treat. We have a chapter reveal to hold you over until release day, March 3rd!

BLURB
Emilia—
All I’ve ever wanted was to marry for love.
But girls like me don’t have that luxury.
We are used as pawns in a game we can’t control.
The game? It’s called Mafia.
I was foolish enough to try to change the rules… and I lost.
Luca—
She was promised to me years ago.
And he dared to take her from me.
Dared to touch what was mine.
I put an end to that.
I hope he’s enjoying the view from his dirt room.
Emilia—
My beloved’s killer placed a ruby ring on my finger and called me his queen.
But that red gem symbolizes something different for me.
It represents the blood shed by those I love most.
Hell was empty the day we wed.
Because the devil was standing before me and said “I do.”
Luca—
I saw her as a possession.
A shiny toy I didn’t want other boys to play with.
But she’s so much more.
Beautiful and brave and strong and broken all at once.
She tastes like everything I’ve ever wanted.
Emilia—
Hidden and patient.
I wait for the perfect time to seek my revenge.
But slowly, I feel him possessing me.
His heart is full of darkness… and I still want every inch of him.
Hard as I try, I can’t escape loving this beautiful monster.
Luca—
I’m waiting patiently because I already know that she’s mine.
Mine in a way that no one will ever understand.
Even if she hasn’t yet realized it.
For love, I’d do anything.
For her, I’d do everything.

CHAPTER REVEAL
Chapter 5
Luca Rossini

New York, 1978
My father’s consigliere, Arrigo, also known as his right-hand man, comes into our conference room where we’re sitting around the table. He’s one of the few people without the last name Rossini who are allowed into this room.
“The Bellini women have arrived. They’re waiting for you in the living room.”
My father goes to the wet bar and chuckles as he pours six glasses of whiskey. “They came. You know what this means, don’t you?”
“It means they have no allies willing to go to battle for them. They’re out of options,” my brother Stephan says.
“Exactly. And that means we’ve won the war. The Bellini assets are ours.”
And Emilia Bellini is finally mine.
Everyone takes a glass of whiskey, even my youngest brother Enzo who is only sixteen.
“You should be the one to lead us in this toast, Luca. This is your victory.”
I didn’t do this alone. It began with my grandfather’s foresight so many years ago. “From long ago until now, here’s to all of the decisions that led us to this place.”
“But mostly your clever decisions, son. Your bravery,” my father says.
We click our glasses together and toss back the whiskey. Enzo coughs and sputters much like I did the first time I had a shot of whiskey.
“Such a mamma’s boy.” Dante loves ragging on Enzo.
I place my hand on top of my baby brother’s head and muss up his hair. “What’s the matter? Can’t handle your liquor?”
“I can handle it. It just went down the wrong way.”
“Sure, it did, little bro.”
I was younger than Enzo when I had my first shot of whiskey. I still remember the way it burned on the way down. I also remember pretending that I could handle it although I wasn’t certain that someone hadn’t swapped the liquor out with lighter fluid.
My father slams his glass on the table. “Come on, boys. Time to collect our spoils of war.”
This moment has been a long time coming. As I walk to where the women are waiting, it suddenly doesn’t feel real to me. I’m so accustomed to delays that I find myself wondering what the next one will be. But I remind myself that we’re in charge now, and there’ll be no more excuses. Emilia is going home with me tonight.

The six Bellini women are seated when we enter the living room, and my eyes bounce back and forth between the daughters seated on each side of their mother. Both are beauties and very similar, but one is much lovelier than the other. I can’t decide which one is Emilia because it’s been too many years since I’ve seen her.
“Welcome to our home,” my mother says as she comes into the room.
Sofia smiles, but the hostility in her expression isn’t disguised. I don’t fault her for that, though. We’ve earned her hatred a hundred times over.
“Your home is as lovely as I remember it.” Her tone is ice cold.
“How long has it been since you were last here?”
“Many, many years.”
“That’s a shame. Looking back on it now, you and I should have spent more time together and raised the children to know each other. Perhaps things would have gone differently if we had.”
“Perhaps.”
I focus my attention on the girl sitting to Sofia’s left. The more beautiful one. The older-looking one. The more frightened-looking one with tears pooling in her lower lids.
Dark brown hair cascading over her shoulders and down her arms, the ends nuzzling against her bare skin like a frightened child clinging to its mother. Almond-shaped deep-caramel eyes surrounded by lush dark lashes. A few scattered freckles across the bridge of her perfectly shaped nose. Plump, glossy coral lips.
In my wildest dreams, my betrothed didn’t grow up to be this beautiful. And it annoys the hell out of me because I don’t want to be attracted to her.
I want to make her suffer.
Sofia Bellini grips the hand of the girl in question. “Please, Marco. Swear to me on your honor that my daughter will be safe with you.”
My father chuckles. “Emilia is going to give us babies, heirs to the Rossini empire. There is no safer place for her than with our family. You know that.”
Sofia and the girl beside her, my Emilia, embrace one another and sob. Her grandmother and sisters cluster around her, doing the same. It’s pathetic. I would have expected less of a display from Bellinis. Certainly not this spectacle.
My betrothed has weaknesses. Those will need to be eliminated before she influences our sons with that nonsense.
“That’s more than enough of that,” I tell them.
She lifts her chin, and her eyes meet mine for the first time. Inside those deep-caramel orbs, I see something I like very much: rage. There during one heartbeat and gone the next, it was only a fleeting flash. But I saw it and I don’t mistake it for what it is.
This girl is going to be so much fun to break.
“Come, Emilia. I’m ready to take you home.”
“She won’t be living here?” the grandmother asks.
“I have my own home. She’ll live there with me.”
“You didn’t mention anything about her living outside of the Rossini compound.”
“I don’t think we’re obligated to tell you anything more than we wish to tell you, Sofia. In case you’ve forgotten, we have full control,” my father says.
Soft murmurs pass back and forth between Emilia and her mother, and I’m unable to decipher what they’re saying. And it pisses me off.
Reaching for her upper arm, I tug. “That’ll be all of that.”
When she’s on her feet, I realize just how small she is. A dainty little princess to break. That’ll be fun.
“Where’s your suitcase?”
“The foyer.”
“We’ll pick it up on the way out.”
There’s an overlapping of goodbyes and I-love-yous as Emilia and I leave, but her mother’s voice bleeds through the noise. “When will I see her again?”
It’s never been my intention to keep Emilia from her family. I see no value in separating them, but that’s something I’ll keep to myself for now.
Continuing to walk forward, I don’t look back. “You’ll see her when I decide I want you to see her.”
I’m pleased when I manage to get her into the back seat of my car without a bunch of carrying on.
“Where to?” Sal asks.
“Home.”
“Yes, sir.”
During the drive to my house, I don’t say a word to Emilia. I want her fear to escalate to the highest level possible. And I believe I’m successful as I listen to the sound of her rapid, unsteady breath filtering through the silence.
She takes a final deep breath and blows it out slowly through pursed lips when Sal parks the car inside the garage. I’d love to know what’s going through that mind of hers right now.
“Welcome home, Emilia.”
No response from her.
No surprise from me.
I fetch her suitcase from the trunk, and she follows me through the house as I lead her upstairs to the bedroom. Our bedroom. “You’ll get the full tour tomorrow. Right now, you and I have some loose ends to tie up.”
“What kind of loose ends?”
“You’ll see.”
I place her suitcase on the bench at the foot of the bed and point at the door to our left. “That’s the bathroom. There’s a pregnancy test waiting for you on the vanity. When you’ve finished, show me the results.”
“I don’t know how to take a pregnancy test.”
“You can read, can’t you?”
“Of course, I can.”
“Follow the directions on the box.”
“Why are you making me do this?”
“I have to be certain that you aren’t pregnant with Moretti’s bastard.”
“I’m not pregnant.”
“Then take the test and prove it.”
“Fine.”
There it is again. That flash of anger in her eyes.
That’s it. Come out, angry princess. I want to play with you.
She marches into the bathroom and shuts the door with a firm thud. A brave little princess she is to do that under my roof.
Several minutes tick by and she emerges from the bathroom. “The directions say it takes two hours for the results to appear.”
“I’m aware.”
Two hours. What shall we do while we wait?
She crosses her arms, looking around my bedroom. Avoiding my eyes.
“Come and sit next to me. I won’t bite… unless you’re into that kind of thing.”
“I’m fine where I am.”
“I’m not asking.” I pat the bed. “Sit beside me.”
She does as I tell her, but the scowl on her face lets me know that she isn’t pleased about it. “Happy?”
“No.”
“You’ve gotten everything you wanted. What do you have to be unhappy about?”
“Our union should have been a joyous occasion. A beautiful wedding where our friends and families came together to celebrate our marriage.”
“A marriage between us was never going to be a joyous occasion.”
“It could have been, but you chose to make things difficult and unpleasant. That means I was forced to do things I would have preferred to avoid.”
“I know the specifics of how you murdered Nic. You took pleasure in what you did to him.”
“Yes. I rather enjoyed it.”
“Only someone evil could admit that.”
I expected her to bring up Moretti sooner or later, but hearing his name on her lips pisses me off more than I anticipated.
“Would you like to know what his last words were?”
She looks at me a moment before answering. “No.”
“You really don’t want to know what your beloved boy said to me while he was lying there in a pool of his own blood dying?”
“I doubt anything you tell me would be the truth. And I know what Nic’s last words were to me. Those are the ones that I’ll always hold dear inside my heart.”
There’s my confirmation. Marrying Moretti wasn’t about not marrying me. She truly loved him.
“Suit yourself. If you can live without knowing what he said about you, then I can live without telling you.”
“I can live with it. The question is how do you live with yourself after brutally taking the life of an innocent man?”
“Moretti wasn’t innocent. He tried to take what belonged to me.”
“Contrary to what you may believe, I have never belonged to you.”
“We were promised to each other by our grandfathers. Betrothed. I was told my entire life that you were to be my wife.”
“It’s 1978. A betrothal between us when we were children should never have happened.”
“But it did happen. And you will always belong to me whether you like it or not.”
One of her brows lifts. “Unless that pregnancy test proves that I’m carrying Nic’s baby? You won’t have me then, will you?”
I had hoped that Emilia’s Catholic faith, or maybe Nicolò’s fear of Alessandro, had persuaded them to not have sex. I see now that any hope I had was in vain.
The thought of Moretti putting his filthy, inferior hands on my betrothed enrages me. But what’s even worse is that she let him. She wanted him to touch her and he did. Now, she could be pregnant.
I can’t handle it.
I’m so pissed off that I don’t trust myself to be in the same room with her right now.
I get up with the intentions of leaving, but I stop when I hear Emilia’s low chuckle. Moving to stand in front of her, I lean down until we’re so close that I have to blink a few times to focus on her eyes.
She doesn’t blink.
She doesn’t cower.
She stares right back at me.
“I’m going to do you a kindness, which is very out of character for me, and I’m going to leave this room. While I’m gone, I’d suggest that you get on those little Catholic knees of yours and pray very hard that the pregnancy test you just took is negative. Or we’re going to have a huge problem on our hands.”

Excerpt

“How good are you at keeping secrets, Lenora Astalis?” His voice wrapped around my neck like a noose.
I wanted to cough. I needed to cough. He terrified me. I hated him with the heat and passion of a thousand blazing suns. He made me feel like a scaredy cat and a snitch.
“Oh, yes. If you’re coward enough to pretend you’re asleep, you’re good enough to keep a secret. That’s the thing about you, Astalis. I can smash you into dust and watch your grains dance at my feet. My little circus monkey.”
I might’ve hated Vaughn, but I hated myself more for not standing up to him. For not opening my eyes and spitting in his face. Clawing his unnaturally blue eyes out. Taunting him back for all the times he’d taunted all of us at Carlisle Prep.
“By the way, your eyelids are moving,” he said drily, chuckling.
He straightened up, his finger making a brief stop at the base of my spine. He snapped his fingers, making a breaking sound, and I nearly jumped out of my skin, letting out a gasp. I squeezed my eyes tighter, still pretending to sleep.
He laughed.
The bastard laughed.
Was he sparing me for the time being? Was he going to check in on me from now on? Retaliate if I opened my mouth? He was so unpredictable. I wasn’t sure what my life would look like in the morning.

Sweet geez, that was intense!!! WOW. This book definitely takes your breath away.

Angry God was sooooo much more than I had anticipated. And it is by far, my favorite in this series. I am not sure what that says about me, but I freaking devoured this book because I could not get enough of it.

This book will not be for everything as it deals with some heavy subject matter and will hit the nerves of those with a history of being bullied. Also, Shen in no way glorifies or excuses bullying, but it definitely makes you view the actions of others from a different POV.

Lenora and Vaughn’s journey is not a pretty one. It is riddled with pain, grit and a lot of darkness. These two hold no punches when it comes to expressing themselves, especially to one another. Vaughn has always had this god-like presence and people have come to respect that. However, he has met his match when Lenora comes trapezing back into his life during their senior year of high school. And their tortured souls never get a break as they both continue on from high school into their internship at the same university.

Shen writes two complicated and twisted characters that will leave your heart breaking. Vaughn hides his scars behind his walls and Lenora is the only one who seems to be able to see past them. Lenora is the complete opposite of Vaughn in many ways and her attitude towards him is what slowly breaks down those walls he has built.

Shen truly delivers it all with Angry God. She saved the best for last and wrecked our hearts beautifully.
