While the characters from Eighty-One Nights are entirely new, their storyline is a combination of fresh material and carefully selected themes, scenes, and settings from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. This is intentional. I chose some of my favorite elements from previous releases and interjected them into Hutch and Lou’s story. Let’s call it a “story fusion” between our old favorites and new material. This work was briefly released under a pen name and was titled The Girlfriend Experience.

His hand slid around her face and tangled in her hair, tilting her head back farther.

She sighed and kissed him, warming right up. Her eyelids opened to see his intense gaze on her. She jerked, her body stilling.

Holding her gaze, he lifted lightly, his lips barely a whisper from hers. “You okay?”

She nodded, even though his hand in her hair contained her movement. “Yes. You?”

“Yes. You want more?” He held himself still, like one of those racehorses in a stall right before the gate opened.

Her nipples peaked. Fast and hard. More? There was more? She should think. Take a step back. “Yes,” she said. “More.”

He moved faster than humanly possible, ducking his head and claiming her lips. This time, there was no gentleness or coaxing. It was all fire and electricity and demand. Hard and fast, he took her mouth, kissing her in a way that took her completely out of the moment.

Shelby shut the door with a click and peered over at me. “What are you writing? If it’s permission to use the feather duster as a sex toy, the answer is no. Unless you buy your own, but if you haven’t figured out where the laundry room is yet, I doubt you’ll find where to buy one.”

She was as funny as a car crash, this one.

“Hilarious,” I drawled. “No, I’m making amendments as I go. I added a new rule.”

“You added a new rule?” She raised one dark eyebrow and walked over, hovering over me. “All right, what is it?”

“Decent clothes must be worn. Do you know how many times I wake up early on a morning to open the gym and find you basically in your underwear in the kitchen?”

“Basically in my underwear? Who are you seeing in the kitchen? I wear shorts and a tank top at the very least.”

“Yes, but the shorts barely cover your ass, and you’re sure as hell not wearing a bra.”

She paused, eyes glittering as she said, “And why are you looking at my ass and my boobs?”

That was an excellent question.

“Because there’s nowhere else to look!” I rushed out before my stupid cock could get any ideas. “Look, waking up in the morning can be challenging for a guy.”

She stared at me.

“I don’t need to get up for a coffee with… you know.” I motioned to my groin. “And see you half-clothed.”

She flicked her hair over her shoulder and walked to the kitchen, turning her back to me. “Why does it matter? I’m your best friend. I hardly think your little friend is remotely interested in whether or not I’m wearing a bra.”

Yeah, well, he is.

“Fine. If I have to wake up and see your perky nipples prancing around the kitchen, I’m going to stroll around in my underwear so you can get a good view of my morning glory.”

She spun, lifting up a finger. Her cheeks were flushed, and she had to swallow before she could speak. “My nipples do not prance. They are not horses.”

“Also, I have no desire to have anything to do with your morning erection, much less get a good view of it, thank you very much.”

“Because I was going to be homeless and you’re the best friend ever?”

I discovered Emma Hart not too long ago and I have been in love with her books ever since.

The Roommate Agreement is friends to lover trope, but I absolutely love Emma’s take on this one. It’s natural progression that you know is bound to happen, but it’s how it all plays out that makes this books so enjoyable.

Emma definitely knows how to blend the perfect amount of humor into a book and make it this perfect romantic comedy. The sarcasm, banter and overall vibe from this book is so tangible, it feels so life-like.

Shelby and Jay have been best friends for over 20 years. Jay is left needing a place to stay (naturally we all rely on our best friends) but his ability to actually adult, drives Shelby insane. So she creates The Roommate Agreement and idea stolen from her fave show (and mine), The Big Bang Theory. And things progress from there – but not in the way you make think.

The Roommate Agreement is very charming and hilarious with characters you can’t help but love. There isn’t a thing I would change about this book. Emma nails it all perfectly – I was laughing throughout the whole book, relating to the characters and just flat-out truly enjoying the hell out of this story.

Emma Hart does it again – delivers a story with the perfect blend of romance, quirkiness, amazing characters that you want to become your best friends.

He slides closer and I twist so that I’m facing him. His eyes leave mine, moving lower, and he looks at my mouth. “You have great lips.”

“I like yours too.” They’re so soft and full and framed perfectly by the scruff on his face.

HOT DAMN – This book was AMAZING!!! I CANNOT wait for the next book to release with parts 3 &4.

Part 1 is more of a novella and sets the stage for Part 2 and the next book (Parts 3 & 4). I loved every single bit of this book and was truly surprised by easily I could visualize everything.

The Cursed Series is definitely geared more toward YA age of 16+ because of scenes and topics that are brought up. One thing that I feel the need to point out is that 16 year olds in different situations and life styles react and do things differently. When you read the book – you will see what I mean.

Rebecca brought out so many emotions in this book. I loved how everything felt so real and like it was playing out before my eyes. Rebecca’s writing truly comes to life right off the pages. The character are real and so raw with their emotions and their actions.

And then there is the suspense – OMG!! Love the suspense that is slowly building in this book. I love the unknown surrounding Lana and how all these characters intertwine with one another. I love every characters because they all are equally important and bring so much to this book. I still have so many unanswered questions and I really need to know where this all ends.

Rebecca has written a fascinating and page-turning YA Romantic Suspense that everyone will love. I devoured this book within one day and that’s with working 8hrs plus doing all the other motherly and wifely duties added in. I could not put this book down – as much as I did not want it to end, I had to know what was going on and where this story was going.

The drive home is relatively silent, save for the occasional heaving noises from Izzy. When I pull into her driveway, I make sure to park with the passenger side as close to her front door as possible. Then, I carefully open her door, catching her so she doesn’t tumble out, and carry her up the front steps.

“Try not to collapse, okay?” I say, setting her down gently. “I have to look for your keys.”

“Are you feeling me up?” she asks as I slide my hand into each pocket of her jeans.

Her breath is coated in the sickly sweet scent of whiskey mixed with a trace of vomit. Her hair smells like the smoky atmosphere in the bar. But her body is dangerously warm and soft under my touch.

“No, ma’am,” I reply, pulling a set of keys out of her front pocket.

She reaches up and clumsily traces her fingertip down the front of my lips. “Why not?”

I shake my head. “Believe it or not, I’m not in the habit of taking advantage of women who are too drunk to remember their own name.”

“That’s a shame,” she pouts as I unlock the door. “It’s… It’s Jolene.”

She laughs as I scoop her up in my arms and carry her into the house, where we’re greeted by Steve. The gentle beast wiggles her butt violently as she sniffs me up and down, taking in the smells of the bar.

“Hey, Steve,” I greet her as I use my foot to push the door closed behind me.

“You have to call her Steve-Bella until she’s used to Steve,” Izzy corrects me.

Maybe I should refer to you as Jolene-Izzy until you’re used to your new name.

I lower her onto the worn-in beige sofa, which I assume she purchased second-hand at The Junk Drawer. Taking a step back, I watch with slight amusement as she adjusts a throw pillow under her head and closes her eyes with a big smile on her face.

“How did you learn those fancy moves?” she slurs.

“What are you talking about?” I reply, taking a seat on the edge of the coffee table so I can keep an eye on her for a bit.

I tell myself I need to make sure she doesn’t choke on whatever’s left inside her stomach, but I know I’m only kidding myself.

Her eyelids flutter open, her gaze unfocused as she looks me up and down. “You tackled that guy like a defensive lineman, but you don’t look like a lineman. You’ve got quarterback written all over that hard body.”

I shake my head. “I used to be in the military. How did you learn those fancy moves? That was quite an elbow you dealt that guy.”

“I used to be in the military,” she replies with a cheesy grin.

“No, you weren’t.”

“No, I wasn’t.”

This girl just made off with 1.4 million dollars cash from a criminal organization. She’s obviously drinking to cope with the sudden loss of her friends and family. Yet, she still remembers to clam up about the details of her former life when she’s drunk.

I’m more impressed with her by the second.

“All right. I’ll let you keep your secrets,” I reply, getting to my feet now that I’m pretty sure she doesn’t need me here to watch over her.

“Thank you,” she says, closing her eyes again.

“For what?”

“For saving me.”

King is another standalone in Cassia’s Power Player series and it can be read as a standalone easily. This book is solely about Izzy and King.

I have mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, I truly enjoyed reading this story. I liked the plot and the idea behind, but it was how things played out that felt too easy for me. There was a nice touch of suspense but again, things just felt like they were too easy.

King is suppose to be this ex-military, tough guy but I never truly got that vibe from him. Yes, he’s suppose to not raise any suspicions about him but his actions when no-one was around made him seem as though this was the first time he’s ever been placed in a seedy situation.

Izzy definitely made this book the highlight for me. I never once saw her squander or truly let her guard down. When she felt herself slipping, she’d mentally slap herself and get her shit together. I love that Cassia never made her think differently just because a hot man waltzed into her world unexpectedly. She kept her wits about her and truly made sure she didn’t become a victim.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the book. But I’d like people to keep in mind that things don’t plan out exactly how they would possibly in real life. There are certain situations that the author definitely used their creativity to play out so the results played into the story better. But it doesn’t deter from the overall vibe and underlying story being told.
