Did I really just read a book by Carrie Aarons?? Holy hell on wheels this book was written with so much fire and passion, it was nothing like I had anticipated.
I have read almost every book that Carrie has released in the last few years and this book has a completely different vibe than those. This book is filled with an array of emotions but what really shocked me was the level of angst she brought.
Walker is one of the most patient, loving and very driven men I have ever come across. He’s a legend on the baseball field and has always put his family first. He’s known Hannah since the day she started dating one of his teammates and he’s been respectful of her and that relationship. But that all ends the day Hannah’s secrets are bared to the team.
Hannah thought she had it all until her husband became the monster you read about in news articles. And when their dirty secret comes to light, her life truly unravels and she’s left with nothing. But Hannah has two reasons to keep going and not let her husband knock her down again – her little girls.
Let me tell you – this story is an emotional roller coaster. Hannah is determined to come out of this stronger and not dependent on anyone but herself. Walker just wants to prove to her that what they have is something that she is more than deserving of. But there are a lot of bumps and roadblocks in their path.
I enjoyed this book so incredibly much. I felt every single emotion both these characters went through. I felt myself fighting alongside Hannah and rooting for Walker to not give up. I cried, laughed, screamed and had tears of joy rolling down my cheeks. This was a great book to start my 2021 reading with.
This is Carrie Aarons at her best. With every book release, she continues to grow and become stronger in her talent. If you have never read a book by Carrie, you NEED to read this one. And if you’ve read her before, expected to be blown away.

If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.)
Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.
He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it.
Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.
So why is she still standing there?
It’s been awhile since I have read Adriana’s books. I read her book that was in the Kings of Football series with two other authors back in Dec. 2020 and was intrigued by the secondary characters who were obviously a part of another series. And that is how I found myself vying to get an arc of Reputation because Coy & Bellamy really piqued my interests.
You definitely don’t need to read the first book to quickly and easily see the dynamics of Coy’s family and how Bellamy fits into everything.
And it’s extremely easy to fall in love with these characters. Not just Coy and Bellamy, but this whole huge family will warm your heart over.
Coy may be a music sensation, but at his roots, he just the boy next door who got lost along the way.
Bellamy has always been one of Coy’s closest friends growing up. These two plus Boone and Larissa always hung out when they were kids and even into their high school years. But it was in those high school years that Bellamy and Coy crossed the friendship line a few times, but never forced it passed that.
Now that Coy is home, he wants to figure out why they lost that connection they had as kids and become friends again. But Bellamy refuses to get her hopes up again because Coy will be leaving, again.
Both of these characters grow personally and in their relationship throughout this book. Coy refuses to let Bellamy walk away and slowly, Bellamy lets her walls down and sees that they have both failed in the past in so many ways.
“A life without tears is a life unlived.”
I really enjoyed this story a lot. Adriana’s writing is simple yet keeps your attention to not only the story, but these characters. The book flows smoothly and quickly. This may be listed as an enemies to lover romance but I would also throw in the second-chance aspect too and you have to read out to figure out why.
I am looking forward to see Adriana brings us with Boone’s book.
About the Author: USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own.
She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, and two dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather’s nice and there’s always a piece of candy in her pocket.
Blurb: It started with one night out with the boys.
She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school.
I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.
On paper we didn’t match.
Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.
She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me.
She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm.
But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.
I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time – just a good time.
She’s changed me.
But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.
I loved every single bit of this book. Meghan really brought her A-game with this one.
Holt and Harmony were created for each other. I love their dynamics – even from the rough get-go.
Holt is one their college’s star baseball players. He may come across as being full of himself and arrogant, but once you get to know him, you realize it’s truly a front. He has one the sweetest hearts and is extremely comfortable in his skin. His parents raised him very well.
Harmony wasn’t raised with all the benefits that Holt had, but we still raised by loving parents who encouraged her to follow her dreams. But one she got to college, she had some experiences and that has made her even more jaded towards certain individuals – athletes and rich assholes.
I won’t go into details but watching Holt try and win over from their very first interaction is very entertaining. Holt has never been a quitter and he’s not about to let a look spit-fire rain on his happy parade.
Every single scene flowed perfectly into the next one. And as much as some of the cliché problems arise, Holt and Harmony handle the majority like the college adults they are, except for a few. And I have to say – Meghan nailed those scenes very well in quite a unique way and readers will love the hell out of it.
Bravo Meghan for writing a book that was unique in so many ways and shows readers why you continue to grow in your art.
About Meghan Quinn: USA Today Bestselling Author, wife, adoptive mother, and peanut butter lover. Author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance, Meghan Quinn brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.

A new angsty stand alone love triangle romance from USA Todaybestselling author K.A. Linde that will keep you guessing which man is her groom and which one objects…
I’m in love with two men.
But I can only marry one.
And today is my wedding day.
The bridesmaids button my wedding dress. They titter excitedly as the music begins. My groom is waiting for me. I walk down the aisle prepared to say I do. All according to plan.
Except for the shout from the back of the room, “I object!”
I should have known it couldn’t be that easy. After fourteen years of push and pull, neither of them is going to let me go. We’re a trio that should have never been. Me and Cole and Ash. One that I’m to marry and one that
I’m to leave behind.
Now, once and for all, I have to choose: my groom or the man objecting?
K.A. Linde is the USA Today bestselling author of the Avoiding Series, Wrights, and more than thirty other novels.
She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team.
She loves reading fantasy novels, binge-watching Supernatural, traveling, and dancing in her spare time.
She currently lives in Lubbock, Texas, with her husband and two super-adorable puppies.
That’s what I lost before I realized nothing good comes from dating my co-workers.
Usually, I don’t have much self-control. So, the fact that Frankie Grant is a hot, talented tattoo artist means it’s a damn miracle she hasn’t already been in my bed. But nothing can happen between us because Frankie comes with Jolie, her young daughter, and a crap load of baggage from her ex. And those are two things I never entertain.
Anyone who knows me—the screwed up foster kid from the wrong side of the tracks—knows I’m not the guy you take home to meet your parents, let alone your kid. But I also know what it’s like not to have parents, so things get complicated when Jolie asks me to be her daddy.
I somehow missed all the books between the first one and this one. I really don’t know how that happened except to say that it was 2020 and nothing was right with 2020.
Anyway – I saw that the Piper Rayne duo has this one coming out and I jumped at the opportunity to review this one because I really enjoyed the first one and liked all the characters that we met initially.
I do wish that I had read the other books before this one because I have no doubt that there was some buildup between Jax and Frankie throughout the other books that I missed that brought us to this book. Is it necessary to read them? No, because this is a standalone, but I could definitely tell there was “behind the scenes” scenarios that brought us to here.
I do have to say that I enjoyed the push and pull between Jax and Frankie. He loves to push her buttons and while she annoyed with him she also finds him to be quite attractive. However, they are both on different paths.
Jax is not a relationship type of guy and needs to deal with his past. Frankie is a single mom and needs to focus on her little girl and job. But she sees Jax with her daughter Jolie, that just melted her heart (and mine).
While there were things that I wished were fleshed out a bit more (personal preference) and wish I had the build up of these two prior to this book, I still really enjoyed this one. Now I must go back and read the rest because I need to know how all these all couples worked out.
The Rooftop Crew series is one I would I highly recommend (and I only read 2 of the 6, so that is saying something).
Meet Piper Rayne: Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have “Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle” (okay…you caught us, that’s our tagline).
A little about us…. We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
Blurb: The Devil comes with baggage, and not the kind you can lose. I was two years old when he saved me. I didn’t understand much at that age, but I remember the pale boy with hair as dark as ink, saving me from two evils. He said he would protect me; I just didn’t know he meant from himself. I was raised in the arms of evil, tailored for the Devil like a custom Armani suit, and every day he wore it like a weapon. Brantley thought by keeping me locked in his manor that it would protect me, and it did.
Until it didn’t.
As I slowly adapt to The Elite Kings Club and the dark, sinister world that exists around the outlaws in suits, I come to learn that the monster everyone fears is the very same one I crave.
Like a prized trophy, I sit on his throne… Something quite pretty, an object he owns…
She’s a porcelain doll, so shiny, so clean… Something I want to polish, but to never be seen…
The time has come, I am in his world… Now his Dea, can be admired by all…
The thing with porcelain is it’s fragile and delicate… It would only take a second for me to eradicate it…

She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic (Slytherin). She’s a profound work-a-holic, but when she’s not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & Husband at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.
New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.
