Crimson River is the fifth book in The Eden series by Devney Perry and this one is slightly different than the other books this is more mystery and suspense, while the others were more contemporary romance.

I love this book the most out of all of them because of its unique storyline and that it veered off the path a bit. Devney did a wonderful job of giving this book the perfect blend of suspense with the romance and piecing the story together perfectly.

Crimson River moved at the perfect, not just the story itself, but how everyone interacted and how things developed as the story progressed. It all felt natural and nothing felt forced or added for dramatic effect.

And I have to say that I love the mystery story happens to surround Lyla and she is probably the last Eden that I would ever expect to find in this situation. I loved it!!

Another phenomenal book from Devney and the perfect story for Lyla Eden.

Bless Your Heart is the first book in Lyla’s newest series, Valentine Texas, and knows how to grab her readers and keep them vested.

I absolutely loved this enemies-to-lovers story. Beckett and Summer have lived by one another for their entire lives and Summer also happens to be Beckett’s sister’s best friend. So these have always been at each other’s throats until Beckett’s family started seeing it as sexual tension the older everyone got.

A property next to the Beckett farm has now come up for sale and both want it for their own businesses. But neither is willing to help the other out because that’s just how these two roll. But what happens when Beckett challenges Summer and she’s loses the bet and now has to go on a date with him?!?

Lyla delivered the perfect southern romance with the right amount of sexual tension. I absolutely enjoyed the banter amongst everyone, especially the siblings. There were some conversations that started to veer towards weird, but thankfully Lyla handled that well.

Overall, this is a great start to the series and I cannot see who we read about next.

I haven’t read too many books by Saffron and those that I have read, have been a mixed bag with my reviews. And this is why I won’t ever say no when a book doesn’t win me over; not every book is going to be “WOW” for me and just because one book doesn’t “WOW” me doesn’t mean I stop reading that particular author.

A Gorgeous Villain is mixed read in itself for me. While I loved the story itself, the pacing and the writing kept dulling and stalling the story for me. There were alot of repetitive thoughts that were rewritten differently throughout this book. The plot didn’t move along well and felt stagnant through most of it. So why did I keep reading?

Well, I was truly vested in the characters – I wanted to see if Reed could go redeem himself, even though I felt he didn’t deserve Callie. However, in his effed up mind, he loved her in his own away, even if he doesn’t believe in love. But I needed to see if he was worth Callie’s love in the end.

Callie, oh you stupid, stupid girl who couldn’t walk away. I love her but wanted to smack her, ALOT. But I also blame her brothers for keeping her so guarded – I think she would have seen the red flags alot sooner and been stronger against Reed. I would have love to seen her give him a dose of his own medicine. And in her own tiny way, she did at times.

Overall, I did enjoy this more than the first book. While I skimmed alot due to repetitiveness, I didn’t want to stop reading it either. Did it need to be this long – no. But I still read it all.

I am intrigued about Ledger and Tempest’s story and hope to read that once it releases.

I have read two other books in this series and will read the other two that I missed because I am curious how those stories played out.
