I waited a few days after I finished this one to write my review. I really wasn’t sure how I felt about it and wanted to give this book justice.

The Act of Trusting is a college romance. Camden and Blaire have a very awkward, not-so-cute meet-cute and things just go from there.

The blurb gives you the perfect background to know what you are walking into. Camden and Blaire are complete opposites on the college campus – she likes to remain unseen and he’s the center of attention.

I enjoyed the time frame that this story played out. It wasn’t too fast and it wasn’t too slow; things play out naturally and are fairly realistic. I say fairly because there are a few situations that just felt out of sorts.

I enjoyed Camden and his ability to see past the surface along with his innate need to protect Blaires.

Blaire – girl has been through a lot. She’s strong in so many different ways. However, there is one scene that irks me and I feel that it wasn’t given the proper attention and therefore, showed Blaire as weak.

Overall, it’s not a bad read. It’s right down the middle for me. As much as I enjoyed the characters, there wasn’t anything endearing that made either of them standout from others. Again, not a bad thing, just right down the middle enjoyable.

This is a spin-off from her other series but you need no prior knowledge to start this series. Knox Maguire is the so of Owen (Four Years Later) and seems to be following in his dad’s footsteps.

Knox is in his final year of college and not only does he need to stay at the top of his game with football, this is also his toughest year in college with his class-load. So he chooses to focus less on the player lifestyle, choosing to be celibate in hopes it’ll help him focus on his courses. Knox knows that he has his struggles with schooling and finally comes to realization that he is going to need a tutor so he doesn’t fail.

Joanna Sutton is one of the few tutors that works with students who have learning disabilities and excels at helping them overcome their obstacles. Joanna has recently come off of a long-term, long-distance relationship and has no interest in any sort of relationship right now.

I absolutely adored how Joanna and Knox’s whole relationship came to me. It is a slow-burn but so worth it once they decided to take the leap. The chemistry is off the charts with these two and it never slows down once they’re together.

Monica wrote a very sweet, sugary story that has zero drama in it. There isn’t a lot of the typical college drama and I love that she has these characters stay true to themselves and not doing something out of character just to create unnecessary drama. One thing I wanted more of was the family dynamic on Joanna’s side but it does not take away from the overall story.

A great start to a new series!!

Holden is the captain and QB1 for his football team. It’s his last season in college and they have a new head coach. The day they meet their new coaching staff, they are also introduced to the coach’s daughter who is joining their athletic training team. But one thing coach makes clear to everyone, his daughter is off limits to all or they will suffer the consequences.

Julep traveled with her dad to a new state and college for various reasons, but her number one reason being she wants to prove to her father that she’s ready to do things on her own. Julep is very closed off to everyone but her father. The last few years have been rough for her and he’s been there every step of the way.

Julep may have moved with her dad, but her biggest step is living in her own place with a roommate, which also just happens to be across the street from The Pit – the place in which a few football players reside and where all their parties are at.

Holden and Julep are both focused are their goals and doing their best to avoid any distractions that could deter them. But neither anticipated each other and Coach’s rule just adds another layer to that attraction.

Kandi wrote this story beautifully. I was invested from start to finish and loved every bit in between. These two definitely toe the line and the angst level is really up there. I loved every bit of their story – the characters, the plot and the writing. All of it just made for an authentic read and a story to remember.

HOLY SHIT!!! This book was nothing short of the best sexual angst I have ever read.

Blind Side is the perfect blend of sports romance with fake dating. Kandi truly outdid herself with this one and I loved every word of it.

Clay is in a bit of a funk and everyone around him knows it. His high school girlfriend broke up with him and his attitude has been less than stellar. He normally has no problems giving interviews but recently it’s been causing problems for Giana, the school’s sports PR.

Giana is well out of her comfort zone being on the PR team but she did so because it’s something no one would ever expect of her. However, it’s due to being pushed out of her comfort that she excels at this. So when Clay becomes a bit of problem, she’s determined to fix it and prove to her boss that she can handle this.

Clay and Giana set up a meeting to go over a different approach for his interviews and this is where Clay finds a weakness in Giana’s wall. Giana is crushing on the college musician who plays at their local coffee shop. This is where they both come to an agreement on fake dating – Clay wants to win his ex back and Giana wants to gain the attention of the musician.

The fake dating was absolutely perfect. Giana was so open to learning and wasn’t afraid to tell Clay what she wanted to learn. Clay was the best friend and perfect guy to teach Giana. He was the perfect blend of sweet and alpha. I could not get enough of these two. They both went into this agreement with their own wants. Watching these two fall for one another and not realize it was just amazing.

“You don’t want to be someone’s muse,” Clay rasped. “You want to be someone’s undoing. And let me tell you, Kitten…You’re mine.”

Blind Side is Kandi’s steamiest book to date. I don’t think she intended for that but the chemistry between Clay and Giana was just off the charts. And their complete blindness to that, just added to the sexual angst. I devoured this book and yet never wanted it to end. Another great read from Kandi!!
