T. R. Cupak was born and raised in the California Bay Area. She now lives in a quiet town south of where she grew up with her husband and their shih tzu Harley. She is obsessed with cars, especially fast ones, and enjoys her music louder than anyone should. When she’s not at work or busy writing, you can find her curled up, reading and enjoying a fabulous glass of wine or a Dirty Shirley.

Despite her lifelong love of literature, Cupak lost touch with her creative side in her early twenties. Her passion for reading was rekindled six years ago, however, and in 2013 she started journaling. This practice helped Cupak hone her creative aspirations, and soon she saw her characters come to life. She has rediscovered her passion for storytelling and wants to share her words with everyone who wants to read them.

About WELL HUNG:

Here’s what you need to know about me — I’m well-off, well-hung and quick with a joke. Yup. Women like a guy who makes them laugh—and I don’t mean at the size of his d*ck. No, they want their funny with a side of huge… not to mention loyal. I’m the complete package—and I do mean package. I’ve got all that plus a big bank account, thanks to my booming construction business.

Enter Natalie. Hot, sexy, smart, and my new assistant. Which makes her totally off limits…

Hey, I’m a good guy. Really. I do my best to stay far away from the kind of temptation she brings to work. Until one night in Vegas…

Yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Bad news on the business front, drowning our sorrows in a few too many Harvey Wallbangers, and then I’m banging her. In my hotel room. In her hotel room. Behind the Titanic slot machine at the Flamingo (don’t ask). And before I can make her say “Oh God right there YES!” one more time, we’re both saying yes—the big yes—at a roadside chapel in front of a guy in press-on sideburns and a shiny gold leisure suit.

The annulment was supposed to be a piece of cake. But it turns out what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. And now, my dick doesn’t stay in my pants when she’s around. Why would it? Natalie’s hot, witty, and horny as hell—especially when we fight. And thanks to a snag with the annulment, she’s still my wife. Mrs. and Mrs. Wyatt Hammer and Natalie Rhodes.

I try to resist. Honest. But the more we try to keep our hands to ourselves, the more we end up naked again — on the desk in my office, in the cab of my truck, on the ladder — and the more time I want to spend with her fully clothed, too.

Sure, we both know a legit divorce is for the best, but my dick is the most loyal prick I know. Especially now that my heart is in the game too. The question now is…do I take this woman to be my ex-wife?

PROLOGUE

Ask me my three favorite things and the answers are so easy they roll off my tongue. Hitting a homerun for my softball league, drawing a killer cartoon panel, and, oh yeah, making a woman come so hard she sees stars.

Not gonna lie. That last one is my favorite, by about a mile. Giving a woman a sheet-grabbing, toe-curling, mind-blowing orgasm is pretty much the Best Thing Ever.

A woman’s climax is like summer break, Christmas morning, and a vacation in Fiji all rolled together in one fantastic package of window-shattering bliss.

Hell, if we could harness the beauty and energy from women coming, we could probably power cities, solve global warming, fix every problem known to man. The female orgasm is basically the manifestation of everything good in the world.

Especially when I deliver them, and I’ve given thousands upon thousands. I’m like a superhero of pleasure, a good-deed doer, the once-upon-a-geek-now-a-stud, and my mission is to dispense as many climaxes to my lovers as possible.

How have I managed to achieve this amazing feat? Simple. I’m both a student and a master of the art of giving Os. I consider myself an expert because — in the interest of full disclosure here — I’m completely, 100% obsessed with a woman’s enjoyment between the sheets. Getting her off is the name of the game, and if you can’t get that job done, you should get the hell out of the bedroom.

But, hey, I’m also humble enough to admit I’m still a learner.

Since there is always something new to discover with a woman.

Does she want it soft, hard, fast, light, rough? Does she like it with teeth, toys, my cock, my tongue, my fingers? Would she want a little something extra, like a feather, a vibrator, or some sort of fantastic combination of all of the above? Every woman is different and every path to her pleasure is its own erotic journey with so many fantastic stops to make along the way.

I take mental notes, study her cues, and always get out and do the field work.

I suppose that makes me the Magellan of the female orgasm. A true explorer, venturing forth, fearless and ready at any moment, to map the terrain of her pleasure until she cries out in rapture.

Fine, some might say I have an addiction.

But really, is it a bad thing that I love to make the woman I’m with feel good? If that makes me a guy with a one-track mind, then I’m guilty as fucking charged. I’ll freely admit that when I meet a woman I’m into, I’m picturing in seconds what she looks like coming, how she sounds, how I want to send her soaring.

The trouble is, there’s one woman I just can’t go there with, even though lately my brain desperately wants to figure out how to drive her wild. It’s been an epic battle, and I’ve had to keep her in a special drawer, locked, sealed and key thrown away because she is the definition of hands off.

Which sucks royally because she’s about to make things even harder with the words that come out of her mouth.

Mr Orgasm - full cover wrap

ABOUT MISTER ORG@SM:

Just call me Mister Orgasm. No, really, I insist. Orgasms are my specialty. Delivering them, administering them, giving them in multiples. Then doing it again for an encore. I’m like the superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to dole out countless toe-curling, mind-blowing climaxes.

But, hey, I’m not just a man with only one superpower. Step right up, and you’ll also find a hot exterior, a razor-sharp wit, and a heart of gold. And I don’t take a damn thing for granted. Back in the day, I was the quiet guy bent over his notebook drawing cartoons. Now I’m creator of the hottest animated TV show in the world –The Adventures of Mister Orgasm — and I’m living the good life as the once-upon-a-time-geek-turned-stud. That means I always put the lady first, and her satisfaction is guaranteed.

Then I’m thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. Sounds like my kind of mission. The only problem? She’s my best friend’s sister, but she’s far too tempting to resist–especially when I learn that sweet, sexy, witty Harper has a dirty mind too. What could possibly go wrong as I give her some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those sex eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I’m not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure –I’m thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.

Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun….

Angel Payne

USA Today bestselling romance author Angel Payne has been reading and writing her entire life, though her love for romances began in junior high, when writing with friends on “swap stories” they’d trade between classes. Needless to say, those stories involved lots of angst, groping, drama, and gooey kissing.

She began getting a paycheck for her writing in her twenties, writing record reviews for a Beverly Hills-based dance music magazine. Some years, various entertainment industry gigs, and a number of years in the hospitality industry later, Angel returned to the thing she loves the most: creating character-based romantic fiction. Along the way, she also graduated with two degrees from Chapman University in Southern California, taking departmental honors for English, before writing five historical romances for Kensington and Bantam/Doubleday/Dell.

Angel found a true home in writing contemporary-based romances that feature high heat and high concepts, focusing on memorable alpha men and the women who tame them. She has numerous book series to her credit, including the Kinky Truth series, the Secrets of Stone series (with Victoria Blue), the W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces series, and the acclaimedCimarron series. Temptation Court, a new series being launched through the Dark Nights Discovery project, debuts in 2016.

Angel still lives in Southern California, where she is married to her soul mate and lives on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with their awesome daughter and Lady Claire, the dog with impeccable manners. When not writing, she enjoys reading, pop culture, alt rock, cute shoes, enjoying the outdoors, and being a gym rat.

Risking it All by Christi Barth…Release Day Event & Review

Title: Risking It All
Series: Naked Men #1
Author: Christi Barth
Publisher: Loveswept
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release
Date: March 8, 2016

Synopsis:

Who doesn’t love Naked Men? In Christi Barth’s irresistible series, a group of close-knit friends talk out their problems with naked honesty on a popular blog. Bonded by a high-school tragedy, they’re moving on from the past—and fighting for the future with strong and sassy women.

Griffin Montgomery helps people. As a teenager, he kept his best friends alive after their soccer team’s bus crashed in the Alps. Now, as a Coast Guard search and rescue pilot, he saves lives with reckless abandon—until he goes too far and earns a lengthy suspension. Working on the Naked Men projects keeps his mind busy, but Griff’s itching to get back in the action. That’s when he finds his latest rescue mission: a pretty wallflower who’s stuck in her comfort zone.

Chloe Widmore doesn’t take risks. As a professional letter writer, she gets enough excitement out of expressing other people’s emotions. So when the hottest man she’s ever seen invades her coffee shop, Chloe surprises herself with how much she wants to be with him. Routines make her feel safe. Griff makes her deliciously unsafe, in so many ways. But falling for him is one risk she might just have to take . . . whether she’s ready or not.

My Review:

Risking it All is the first in a new series from an author I adore reading, Christi Barth.  This series kicks off with a wonderful start and I loved every minute of this sweet and sassy romance!

One of things I love most about Ms. Barth’s writing is her ability to deliver multi-faceted characters with a beautiful amount of depth, making them feel as if they were actual people you would hang out with.  This particular book really showcased that ability.  Griffin and Chloe’s is entertaining from the very first page and had me hooked until the very end.  Griffin is a wonderful hero with a lot of wonderful layers to his personality that had me swooning too many times to count.  Chloe is beyond interesting with a fun career and unique way of looking at things and saying what she means.  I loved the circumstances on how they meet and how their relationship grows at a slow and steady build with a very real life feel.  Nothing went too fast and nothing took too long.  It was the perfect balance.

I also loved meeting the rest of Griffin’s friends which I assume will be the other men in this series.  They are all so interesting and hold a string bond that makes the group as a whole really special.

Overall, this is a well-rounded, well written book I have no doubt any romance fan will love as mush as I did!  Thank you. Ms. Barth, for once again delivering a fabulous read!

review

Well isn’t that quite the exciting start to this season.

Season 2 starts off with Spring semester in full swing.  We are given a quick synopsis of what everyone did over winter break.  They are excited to start Spring off with a bang – and they do – in more ways than one.

We get our fill of Jess, Cassie and Bear and what’s going on from their view points.  We are given some hints about things going on with Skyler, Erin, Asheli and Bo.  We are even introduced to a new character who has his sights one of our girls.

Great start to the season.  Excited to see what goes on in the next episode!

“Kind of presumptuous, don’t you think?” She asks, but her eyes are already undressing me.
“Depends.”
“On?”
I shrug. “On whether you let me take you back to my room or not.”
She stares at the hand I’m now holding out toward her, seemingly debating her options. She could easily walk away, find one of her girlfriends and leave the party without so much as another word. But the way she’s chewing her lip tells me that’s not exactly the plan she has in mind.
“I’m only going back with you on one condition.”
I wait, hand still outstretched as she narrows her eyes.
“I want two orgasms tonight. And not the kind I fake, the kind I can’t hold back with. The kind that make my legs sore in the morning.”
My teeth find my bottom lip, fighting back a smile. Who the hell is this girl and where has she been hiding?
“I’ll give you three.”
Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.

Excerpt:

I spin around and throw my phone as hard as I can into the pool.

It lands with a small splash, sinking like a brushed-aluminum stone straight to the bottom. My momentary satisfaction is eclipsed by immense regret, because I just got that phone a few weeks ago. Fuck it, I can get a new one tomorrow. If that’s the price I have to pay to keep myself separate from Raven, then so be it.

I take a few healthy chugs of the Laphroaig.

“I hope you’ve got a good warranty,” a cheerful voice says from next to me. Even over the smoky scent of the whisky, I smell her. Cinnamon and sunshine.

I inelegantly swallow the Scotch still in my mouth, turning to face the person next to me. “Devi.”

She flashes me her sunny grin, and then returns the greeting by playfully bumping her shoulder against my arm. Heat flares across my bicep, emanating from the place where our bare skin touched, and the heat slowly migrates towards my chest, independent of the blood now pumping to my groin.

I am suddenly very aware of the fact that Devi and I have never been alone. Strange, given that we’ve given each other orgasms, but Raven’s Real Playdates was the only time we’ve worked together, and there are so many people on a porn set that it’s impossible to feel any sense of alone-ness, even when you’re staring them in the eyes while they suck you off. And even though we’ve seen each other at parties and events since then, we’ve only ever said hi or how are you or where’s the drinks? Not exactly the basis for a deep understanding of one another.

So I should probably explain why I just chucked a brand new phone into the water, and also maybe not reveal the fact that I have a massive crush on her.

I try to muster the casual, flirty guy I was earlier tonight. “Devi, I…”

I jack off to you almost every day.

“…I, uh, didn’t know anyone else was out here. Or I wouldn’t have, you know.” I mime throwing the phone.

She laughs and then bends down to unfasten her leather heel. “If it’s in a good case, it might still be okay,” she says. I watch, transfixed, as she kicks off both shoes, shimmies out of her shorts, and then walks to the edge of the pool. She’s wearing what legally might qualify as underwear, but only just barely.

Have I mentioned Devi Dare’s ass? Because I should. She has one of the best asses known to mankind. Plump and thick and juicy, the kind of ass that invites biting and squeezing, and the way it slopes out from her small waist is pure poetry. And those legs—despite the obvious muscles in her calves and thighs, they still move as she walks, like her ass does, and there’s something so healthy about it, so tantalizing about her body with its wide hips and slightly soft stomach and full breasts. She’s sexy in such a visceral, biological way, the kind of way that says you want to make babies with me. My cock lengthens as I watch her, tens of thousands of years of evolution telling me to haul her off and impregnate her.

She turns, hands on her hips. “Are you going to join me?”

“I was just enjoying the view,” I say, and it comes out a little too raspy, a little too honest, but then I follow it up with a weak grin and then she laughs and jumps into the pool. With a final gulp of whisky, I put the cork in the bottle and then fling myself in after her, clothes, shoes and all.

The water is cool and it’s the best kind of contrast to the dry heat of the night and the warmth of the Scotch in my stomach, and the new kind of warmth that’s agitating in my chest, something frictive and thrilling and pressing up against my anger and my broken heart. Something that started the moment Devi brushed up against my arm.

I jumped into the deep end, and so it’s a few beats before my feet press flat against the bottom and I can push myself back up. I break the surface, sputtering, and awkwardly try to swim over to Devi with one hand still clenched around my Scotch bottle. She treads water as steadily and gracefully as a water nymph, her long hair floating around her shoulders and her gold top drifting away from her skin, giving me just the barest glimpse of one nipple, dark rose and peaked into a tight furl. Water droplets cling to the thick fringe of her eyelashes.

“You’re not very good at swimming,” she points out as I make my way closer.

“Never liked it much,” I say, swimming past her and moving to where my feet can touch. With a sigh of relief, I set my feet down, examine the Scotch bottle to make sure no pool water leaked in, and then I take a long drink. I’m on my way to being drunk, but I’m intent on sealing the deal. What can I say? I’m a finisher.

Devi drifts up next to me, holding something in her hand. It takes me a minute to realize that it’s my phone, the entire reason we spontaneously jumped into the pool in the first place. And somehow, miraculously, the pricey case the Apple Store girl talked me into buying has saved the phone. The screen still glows with my unwritten text message.

Somehow, between the pool and the Scotch and Devi Dare with no pants on, I’ve lost the urge to talk to Raven. I take the phone and toss it carelessly onto the concrete and then turn back to Devi.

You, on the other hand, seem like quite the swimmer,” I say with a smile, offering her the Scotch. She takes it and raises the bottle to her lips.

“I was raised in California, you know,” she says and then takes a drink.

“Well, so was I. But my parents are Boston transplants, so I guess they never saw swimming as a priority for me.”

She hands the bottle back to me. “I think I had floaties before I had a bicycle. My parents are very, uh…” She searches for the right words. “Natural people. They think it’s important to be periodically cleansed of negative energy, and flowing water is one of the best ways to do that. So we went swimming at least once a week.”

I can see the faintest blush coloring the apples of her cheeks, as if she’s embarrassed of what her parents believe. And then I wonder if she’s embarrassed because she believes it a little too.

God, that blush is so sexy. I want to lick it right off her face. And then pin her down and lick her everywhere.

She tilts her head to the sky. “You can see Cassiopeia tonight.”

I look up, following her gaze, but I see nothing other than the golden glow hovering above the city and a smattering of faint, twinkling stars. “Is Cassiopeia a constellation?” I venture.

She laughs and nods, and then she reaches over and takes my head in her hands. My pulse thrums, that warmth in my chest explodes into flames, and I want her to kiss me kiss me kiss me, but before I can turn my head to her, she trains my face to the sky, facing the right direction this time.

“Do you see it?” she asks. Her mouth is close to my neck, and I wonder what it would feel like if she bit me there. “It looks like a letter M.” She traces the shape of it with her fingers, until finally I see it–an underwhelming handful of tired stars.

“You can’t see it this far into the city sometimes,” she continues.

“Cassiopeia sounds like a porn name,” I say frankly and she laughs again.

“Ptolemy named it.”

I give her a blank look. I got pretty good grades in school, but it’s been more than ten years since graduation, and anything not intimately related to film or the kind of math I need to run my business has been filtered out of my brain.

“Ptolemy was a Greek astronomer,” she explains, giving me an amused glance. “He named it after a famous queen in Greek mythology. She was so beautiful and vain and boastful that she brought the wrath of Poseidon down on her kingdom.”

Beautiful, vain, boastful. My mind swerves back to Raven, possibly still in this very house, possibly still being screwed with that evil smile on her face. Where is Poseidon when you need him?

No.

No, I won’t let Raven crowd into my happy, drunk moment with Devi and the Scotch. I speak as much to drive away thoughts of my ex as to comment on Devi’s astronomy knowledge. “You know a lot about this shit,” I tell her, turning my eyes back to her face completely.

And now she really blushes. “I really like astronomy. Stars and galaxies and stuff. It makes life feel so…big…you know?”

The thing is, I do know. That big feeling, I mean. I get it every time I watch an amazing film, every time I imagine my own films with just the right setting and just the right cinematography and just the right score.

“I’ve never met a performer who’s told me anything like that,” I say. And it’s true. Not once have I been around another adult film star and had them confess a purely impractical fascination. A call toward something that makes them feel like life is magical.

She blinks, and the way her long, thick eyelashes brush against her wet cheeks is arresting. “Really?”

“Really. Devi Dare, I do believe you are my first.”

Rough Rhythm by Tessa Bailey…ARC Review

Rough Rhythm releases tomorrow!

1001_2016_Tessa Bailey_300dpi

Synopsis:

God help the woman I take home tonight.
Band manager James Brandon never expected to find the elusive satisfaction he’d been chasing, let alone stumble upon it in some sleezy Hollywood meat market. Yet the girl’s quiet pride spoke to him from across the bar, louder than a shout. Troubled, hungry and homeless, she’d placed her trust in him. But after losing the grip on his dark desires that one fateful night, James has spent the last four years atoning for letting her down.
This time I’ll finally crack him.
Rock band drummer Lita Regina has had enough of James’s guilt. She wants the explosive man she met that night in Hollywood. The man who held nothing back and took no prisoners—save Lita. And she’ll stop at nothing to revive him. Even if it means throwing herself into peril at every turn, just to get a reaction from her stoic manager. But when Lita takes her quest one step too far, James disappears from her life, thinking his absence will keep her safe.
Now it’s up to Lita to bring James back…and ignite an inferno of passion in the process.

Reader Advisory: ROUGH RHYTHM contains fantasies of nonconsensual sex, acted upon by consenting characters. Readers with sensitivity to portrayals of nonconsensual sex should be advised.

My review:

Rough Rhythm is the 5th novella in the 1,001 Dark Nights 2016 lineup and is also part of Tessa Bailey’s Made in Jersey series, a series I already adore. I am a huge fan of Ms. Bailey’s and am always excited when she has a new release. After reading this story, I’m once again reminded just how much I love her writing…it was incredible.

Drummer Lita Regina and her band’s manager James Brandon have had quite the interesting and precarious relationship. They have been in each other’s lives after meeting years earlier in a unique and somewhat desperate situation. Ever since that night, things have been a push and pull between them and, at times, reaches a fevered pitch…mainly because neither one of them can forget what happened that first night. Of course, it was for very different reasons. James was trying to ignore what happened and keep Lita at arm’s length while Lita doesn’t want to forget it but, in fact, repeat it. Their emotions run high and are beyond intense. They will only be able to keep up this dance for so long before their feelings consume them both and history repeats itself…only this time it’ll be for keeps.

I don’t even know where to start in telling you all what I loved most about this novella. With each book Ms. Bailey writes she pushes herself farther as an author and I appreciate it beyond measure. James and Lita’s story was highly intense and beyond sexy, hot, and passionate. I loved the push and pull between them and how emotional things have become. Where this story picks up is pretty much at the breaking point in their relationship. James has dark desires he doesn’t want to admit to and he broke my heart when it came to his denying himself the comfort he once found in Lita. On the other hand we have Lita, who is equally confused when it comes to her yearning for what James once gave her.  Her determination in getting James back into her life and into a romantic relationship had me wanting to stand up and cheer while I was reading. I love when a heroine goes after what she wants even if it scares her and there’s uncertainty lurking beneath the surface. She knew deep down the risk was worth it and not taking the chance with James would be a choice she would forever regret. Together they are so damn hot and I couldn’t stop reading once I began. This was certainly a roller coaster ride of emotion and had one of the best endings! Loved it all from start to finish.

Whether you’re already a fan of Tessa Bailey and her alpha males and spectacular heroines or this is your first taste, I know this will be a book you won’t soon forget. Thank you, Ms. Bailey, for another fan-freaking-smoking-tastic read!

About the author:

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention. She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Liberty States Create Something Magical Conference Speaker Interview Series: Karen Stivali

LSFW Interview series graphic

Today the Liberty States Create Something Magical Conference Speaker Interview Series continues with author Karen Stivali:

  1. What made you want to become a writer?

I’ve always loved to write and have been making up stories in my head since I was a little kid. There hasn’t been a single period of time since I first learned to form letters that I haven’t been writing something—letters (I had over twenty pen pals at one point back in the days of paper mail), plot summaries (I worked for a film agent for a while as a reader), case histories (in my social work days), blog posts and editorials (about everything from restaurant reviews to reality TV character/editing analysis)—not to mention thousands of emails. When I finally decided to be serious about writing one of the novels I’d had in my head for nearly a decade, there was no turning back.

  1. Is there one piece of advice you would give an aspiring writer?

Once you get an idea in your head and you know “this is the book I need to write” don’t give up until it’s done. There will be a million times when you might say to yourself “but if I change this it might be better” or “I can’t do this”—but you can. Getting to The End on your first novel is one of the hardest things to do and one of the best feelings ever, because then you’ve done it. You’ve written a book. Not a few chapters. Not some ideas for a book. The whole damned book. And once you have that finished draft, you can mold and shape it into whatever you want it to be. Don’t worry about making it perfect while you’re writing that first draft. A draft is like an unfrosted cake. Once it’s baked you can frost and fill and decorate it however you want. Before that, it’s just batter. Batter that has the potential to be the most amazing cake in the world. When it’s done.

  1. If you could co-write a book with any author, dead or alive, who would it be?

I’ve co-written before and would gladly do it again or try it for the first time with several authors I know, so I’m not going to name anyone alive because I’ll hold out hope that some of those might happen in reality. If I could choose one author from the past who I’d love to co-write with? I’d have to say Madeleine L’Engle. She was one of my absolute favorite authors when I was growing up. I loved her books and read them over and over. When I was around ten year old we were taking a family trip to New York City (I lived in Ohio at the time) and I read in the New York Times magazine that she was due to speak at the New York Public Library while we were going to be in the city. I begged my parents to take me, and they did. But the date had changed and when we showed up at the library we were told she wasn’t coming until the following week. I was crushed and the librarian took pity on me and said that if I wrote Ms. L’Engle a note she’d be sure to give it to her when she came. I did. And even back then I was cynical enough to think that she’d never get my message. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later a letter showed up in the mail. One whole side of the envelope had a starry-sky looking print on it and a name etched into the design—Madeleine L’Engle. She’d written me back telling me she was so sorry we’d missed one another, that she hoped I’d keep writing and that perhaps one day our paths would cross. It was the coolest thing that had ever happened in my life. It still is. And I still have the letter.

  1. Who is on your bookshelf?

After contracting my eighteenth book I finally convinced my husband that the little kitchen desk wasn’t really cutting it for holding all my writing-related stuff, so I recently got my own home office. It’s still in the process of being turned into a real office so there’s currently a weird hodge-podge of makeshift furniture and what is actually on my bookshelf at the moment is my cat, BadKitteh. Pretty sure he thinks this room is his office, not mine. But once I unpack my things onto the bookcases there will be two filled with classics ranging from Russian literature to complete poetry collections, one filled with favorite books from my childhood (I saved my original copies of all the Judy Blume and Paul Zindel books I read growing up and acquired a signed copy of The Phantom Tollbooth at last year’s BEA), and one full of current favorites, most of which are written by authors I’ve gotten to know over the past few years and many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with—Tiffany Reisz, Andrew Shaffer and Karen Booth, to name just a few.

  1. Can you tell us about one of the most memorable moments in your writing career thus far?

The most memorable moments in my writing career all involve encounters with readers. Whether it’s an email telling me that they related to a character or that the story came into their lives at just the right time…or someone finding me at a conference and bringing one of my books with them because they were excited to meet me in person…or even someone friending me on social media because they read one of my books and wanted to get to know me—all of those things are mind-blowing to me. I don’t think I’ll ever get to a point where it seems commonplace to me. Every single time it happens is memorable in its own way and they all mean so much to me.

  1. Tell us about your newest release/current work in progress.

My newest release is MOMENT OF SILENCE, which came out in late December 2015. It’s the fourth book in my LGBTQ (male/male) romance series Moments In Time, but it can be read as a standalone. Jason and Quinn were both secondary characters in the earlier books in the series, but they don’t meet until they start working together in Moment Of Silence.  I don’t play favorites with my books or my characters, but I have to say I have a soft spot for this story. I grew up in a half Jewish/half Catholic household and this novel is the story of a nice Jewish boy who falls in love with a man who’s about to take his final vows as a Catholic priest. It’s set in NYC, which is also very close to my heart as I lived there for many years. Here’s the blurb:

Growing up, Jason Stern led a charmed life complete with devoted sisters, a father who was one of Brooklyn’s most respected rabbis, and a mother who made the world’s best babka. He headed to NYU ready for anything—except falling for the wrong guy, coming out, and getting disowned by his once-loving family. In spite of that, Jason managed to graduate with honors. He’s got friends who treat him like family, and he’s proudly running the largest LGBTQ teen shelter in Manhattan. Life is good, but he’s still falling for the wrong men.

When charming, sexy Quinn Fitzpatrick begins work at the shelter, Jason falls hard and fast. Quinn is tall, blond, funny—damn near perfect. Only if Quinn’s gay, even he doesn’t seem to know it. If he does, he’s not telling anyone. And he’s about one ceremony away from becoming a Catholic priest.

Long hours of work turn to long nights of talking and laughter, and Jason dares to hope this time he’s falling for the right guy. But Quinn’s got a past to deal with and major decisions to make about his future. When Quinn leaves for a silent retreat, Jason knows the silence may change everything.

My current work in progress is the next book in the series (MOMENT OF FATE, which can also be read as a standalone). It’s due out sometime mid-2016 and you can get a steamy sneak peek at a chapter from it at the end of Moment Of Silence. This book is also set in NYC but has a very different vibe. Bryan is a musician in a fairly well known rock band and is finally finishing up his photography degree from NYU (which got put on hold when the band had its first taste of success) and Oliver is new to NYC and newly out after several years of planning to have a marriage of convenience with his lifelong female BFF. They’re instantly attracted to one another, but Bryan’s on a self-imposed sex hiatus and Oliver just wants to sew his wild oats—or at least that’s what he thinks he wants—so they convince themselves they’re just friends.  (Spoiler alert: they’re not ‘just friends’ for long.)

I also have two male/female contemporary romances releasing: the re-release of my award winning novella ALWAYS YOU (now with Tule Publishing and due out as part of a Valentine’s debut of their erotic romance line EROS) and FOUR DAYS TO FOREVER (a contemporary NA releasing in late March from Bloomsbury Spark).
