Twisted Truths is the final installment in the Blood Brothers series. While this is Denver’s story, I HIGHLY recommend reading these books in order because there is an underlying plot that continues throughout the three books.

In Twisted Truths Denver comes to find that he needs to help out a former “flame” in finding her niece. Noni has been entrusted with raising her niece when the girl’s donor dad kidnaps her. And the only person she can truly trust to help her is Denver. But she enlists his help in ways that put him in danger too.

For those who have not read any of the previous books, Denver and his two brothers were raised in a home and a crazy “scientist,” Dr. Madison genetically enhanced them. They escaped many, many years ago and have stayed behind the scenes tracking down this nutjob and the crooked Sheriff. And since Noni blasted Denver’s pic all over social media, the lime light is once again on the brothers.

Rebecca does a great job of weaving the two stories together. There are a lot of twists and turns and action-packed plot. It was very difficult to put this book down. My only gripe was that a few parts seemed to be reminiscent of previous books (outing the brothers) but it did not take away from the overall story line.

If you enjoy a great plot line, with a lot of twists and great action blended with some romance, then this series is for you. Again, I urge you to read the books in order to get the full affect of everything.

Great ending to an amazing series.

Slowly, numbly, she shrugged. “I knew you were dangerous and relentless in pursuing somebody,” she whispered. But a killer? Her search for him had held a romantic element, and she knew it. This guy was all edge—no romance. “Am I in danger?” Her voice quivered, but she had to know.

“Yes.” He didn’t move. Didn’t even seem to breathe.

She blinked. Rapidly. “From you?”

His eyes darkened. “No. The only thing I’m capable of breaking is your heart.”

Cold swam through her. The arrogance. “You think you broke my heart?”

His lip twisted. “I know I did.” His tone was low with what seemed like self-hatred. Dark and raw. “I’m sorry.”

Those words. She’d needed those words and hadn’t realized how badly. “Thank you,” she said, going on instinct. “Then how am I in danger?”

“I’m in danger, and anybody close to me is free game for an enemy who will keep coming until I’m dead. Until everything I care about, everything I dream about, is taken away and I want death.” He looked back down at the computer, intensity pouring from him.

Whoa. Okay. Denver didn’t have one bit of hysteria in him. His words scared her, but curiosity still rose up. “Who?”

“Irrelevant. As soon as we get Talia back, you have to forget me. Now. Back to Richie.”

OMG Meghan – what are you doing to me?!?! I can’t get enough of this trilogy!! As soon as this book landed on my kindle, my whole body was dying to jump into this book and see what was happening next. I am seriously OBESSED with Keira and Mount.

First off, if you have not read the first book in this series, Ruthless King, go do that right now. Just stop reading my review (it may spoil something) and go read it. DO IT!! Why are you still reading this???? For those who have read it, continue on….or just go start this book now because like me, you need to know what happens!!

We learn a bit more about Lachlan with some snippets of his past and Keira is still fighting herself with her body wanting Lachlan and her mind raging a war against that. She knows that this will never be more than a debt being paid but when Lachlan starts complicating things more, she’s starting to see a different side to him.

Keira and Lachlan have this magnetic push and pull with one another. And with everything else going on around them, it just adds this perfect blend of angst, drama and sexual tension. I love every damn word in this book!! And that ending – OMG. I just can’t.

Every now and then, Sam would shoot me a sympathetic look, knowing that I had no idea what they were talking about, but in truth, their company was a welcome break. Kendall played this story out perfectly and left me loving both Maggie and Sawyer not only separately but even more so together as a couple.

And this book is perfect for this time of year – it’s not a holiday read, but with background in the snowy mountains of Colorado and everything happening around the holidays, it helps get you in the mood.

“Let’s get one thing clear—”

“One thing? I have a goddamn list.”

He bracketed her throat, putting just enough pressure there to stop her words. “Did you change your mind?”

She narrowed her eyes but didn’t try to pretend she had no idea what he was talking about. “You play your game your way. I’ll play it mine.”

Disobedient and willful to the very end. He couldn’t decide if she was trying to provoke a response or if she was just that opposed to being locked down in any way. In the end, it didn’t matter. “I should bend you over this counter and fuck you into submission.”

“Don’t think for a second it would work.” Charlie rolled her eyes. “And beyond that, we’re already going to be late, so unless you’re looking for a quickie, fucking me in any way is out of the question.”

The irrational side of him, which always seemed to come into play around her, rose to demand he throw caution to the wind and prove her wrong. He reined it in, but only barely. Every time she pushed him, intentionally or not, he slid a little closer to the edge. It was only a matter of time before he went over—and took her with him.

Aiden let go of her and stepped back. He didn’t like the confusion on her face—or the flicker of hurt that rose as he moved to the dresser across the room. For all her spikes, there was something fragile about Charlie, and he’d have to be a special kind of bastard to want to shatter her, no matter who her father was.

He opened the drawer at the bottom that had been empty until a week ago. “Take off your panties.”

“I’m sorry, what?”

He gave her a look. “You heard me.”

“I’m waiting for you to explain.”

Aiden shook his head slowly. “There aren’t two separate games—there’s only my game. Either play along or deal with the consequences.” He picked an item out of the drawer and held it up. “Here’s your first punishment.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong.” But her eyes lit with interest at the small blue vibe in his hand.

He motioned her forward, giving her plenty of time to tell him to go to hell.

But she didn’t.

Charlie moved to stand directly in front of him. He lifted her dress to the tops of her thighs, bunching the shimmering fabric. “Hold this,” he ordered.

“You are aggravating in the extreme.”

“So I’ve been told.” He pulled her panties down to her thighs. It was tempting to kiss her there, but he forced himself to stay on task. Aiden held the small vibe against her clit as he shifted the lace back into place. It took a few seconds to maneuver it to exactly where he wanted, but then he sat back on his heels. “You can let go now.”

“This is an important night, Aiden.” She shifted, a frown on her face. “We don’t have time for your sex games to distract me.”

He pulled out his phone and brought up the app he’d downloaded when he bought the sex toy. A flick of his finger and her entire body tensed. Aiden didn’t bother to hide his satisfied smile. It fell away when he touched his pocket and the little box it held. “One more thing.”

“I swear to God, I draw the line at anal plugs, so don’t even think about it.”

That surprised a laugh out of him. What surprised him even more was how good it felt. When was the last time he’d laughed freely in a way that wasn’t calculated?

Aiden couldn’t remember.

He stood and pulled out the ring box. “I’d go down on one knee, but that isn’t the kind of relationship we have.”

“No, it’s not.” She looked a little sick, but she held out her hand so he could slide the ring onto it. “Aiden, it’s beautiful.”

“It was my grandmother’s.” It had taken some shady work to figure out Charlie’s ring size after he’d first met her, so that he could get the ring resized. He hadn’t told anyone about it. Though he’d been as sure of her as he could be of a near-stranger, he hadn’t wanted to admit the lengths he’d gone through, in case things didn’t pan out.

If anything, she looked even more horrified. “I can’t wear your grandmother’s ring. It’s not right.”

“You have to. As oldest son and heir, that ring rightfully belongs to my future wife. It would be more than a little suspicious if I didn’t give it to you.”

She touched the massive diamond. It was in the same setting as when his grandfather had proposed, little rubies and garnets surrounding the diamond, to represent colors in the O’Malley crest.

It felt a whole lot like he’d just branded Charlie.

It didn’t bother him nearly as much as it should.

OMG!!! Monica – what you are doing to me?!?! WHY?!?! That ending has crushed me!!

“I’ve told you from the beginning of my story that I was noting but a fucking monster. At least now, you can’t call me a liar….”

So yea, as you can tell, this book ends in one hell of a cliffy. And the saving grace is that we do not have to wait long for the second book. And I for one, am extremely grateful that Monica didn’t try to wrap up their story in a few more chapters to rush everything and give us one book. Yes, I hate my having my heart ripped from chest and watching it sit on my bookshelf beating away til January, when I can possibly put it back in. But I am more than happy that Monica is sticking to her guns and giving us the complete and full story that Amira and Damien deserve and not this rush, hurry up shit that puts everything together in this happy package in a few short chapters.

Ok – onto this book. I am truly not sure what to say that won’t give anything away. Monica is one author I know that I can depend on to deliver, the suspense, angst and hotness all wrapped into one amazing story. I went into this story blind, as I have with every single one of Monica’s books since her first book. You do not read any of her previous books to read this one.

El Santo is about Amira and Damien’s past and how they came to know one another. There is nothing pretty about the environment they grow up in. Damien was raised to be a soldier. Early on he knew what his life would like; he just never realized how revered and feared he would he become to everyone. Amira was the one person who never feared him. She saw the darkest part of him but knew behind that darkness was someone who just as much of a pawn as she was.

“One day soon, I won’t be the man who saved her. I’ll just be another fucking monster that haunts her dreams.”

Monica weaves a very emotional story into this suspenseful plot. My adrenaline was pumping the whole time I read this book; my emotions on high waiting for the next twist or turn to take place. This book delivers the ugly, raw and heartbreaking truth of Amira and Damien’s fated relationship. And damn, if it wasn’t worth every emotional second.
