Release Day Blitz & Review…Mirrored by N. Theiss

Secrets make him rich.

Her choice makes him lethal.

Alex thinks she’s getting into an ordinary rideshare on a rain-soaked night in London.

She isn’t.

Luka is no ordinary driver. He notices too much. Listens when no one’s watching. And the moment Alex slides into his back seat, he clocks her as a target—and then can’t disengage.

Alex is a high-powered American marketing executive on a six-week assignment. She’s driven, successful, and wears corporate discipline like armor. Luka is the man who shows her exactly how thin that discipline really is.

What begins as a charged encounter between strangers spirals into a dangerous intimacy built on consent, control, and carefully negotiated surrender. Luka introduces Alex to pleasures she’s never allowed herself to want. Alex, in turn, earns something far rarer—his trust.

But when a night meant to stay private goes public, Alex draws the attention of a man who doesn’t understand the word no. And she learns just how dangerous Luka can be.

He doesn’t protect.

He dismantles. Quietly. Permanently.

Say the word, and he’ll burn it all down.

A dark, high-heat strangers-to-lovers romance where power is negotiated, trust is earned, and desire is anything but safe.

Nadine is a new author to me, but will definitely be one I read more of.

I really enjoyed this one and the dedication page makes so much more sense after reading this too. IYKYK.

This is a very fast-paced story that fits the narrative well. I am not a fan of insta-love, but the author crafted a unique story with characters that had an intense initial meeting that bled into the story.

There is an interesting twist on this story that added to the heighten state of the book and I liked how this played into the overall plot. I do wish this part was more developed and not so quick, but I also understand that part played into the pacing of the story as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I found the author’s writing style engaging and kept the reader intrigued the entire time. I will definitely be looking into this author’s previous works.

Release Day Blitz & Review…Resonance by Ketley Allison

Resonance by Ketley Allison is now live!

I never planned to resurrect anything, let alone silence the witness who caught me. One chaotic night later, I’m property of the Resonance Academy, chained to its most lethal Elite as my personal handler.

Falcen Reaves is everything my village warned me about. Tall, lethal, and currently rotting from the inside out with the same forbidden magic now squatting inside my chest. He’s got black veins, a soul-eating problem, and the personality of a brick wall that’s personally offended by sunshine.

Unfortunately for him, I am 100% sunshine and 200% done taking orders.

Then come the blood-soaked trials, where students are fed to Void creatures, and the academy’s sadistic Keepers circle closer, sending those who scream the loudest to the catacombs below. And every time my control slips, every time I nearly drain Falcen completely, he wraps his hands around my wrists and asks for more.

Close proximity? Check.

Forced training sessions that feel suspiciously like foreplay with a blade attached? Double check.

A forbidden bond that keeps trying to knot our souls together while the Keepers sharpen their weapons to dissect us both? Chef’s kiss.

However, if we don’t figure out how to stop hating each other, the Void will do it for us. And what it wants is so much worse than death.

Resonance is a dark romantasy drenched in soul-magic, deadly trials, and a love forged in blood and Void. Perfect for fans of morally gray heroes and heroines who refuse to be broken.

You know it’s damn good book when you dream about it.

This is my very first book from Ketley Allison (why, I don’t know) and she has blown me away!

I don’t even know what to say except that very first scene in this book sunk it’s claws me into and I was immersed in this story til the very end.

I will provide a more through review once I collect my thoughts instead of just, “holy shit, I need more.”

Release Day Blitz & Review…Match Penalty by Teagan Hunter

Match Penalty by Teagan Hunter is now live!

I have two goals this season:
1. Win the Cup with the Seattle Serpents.
2. Get my wife back.

I’ve always been the kind of guy who sticks to my vows. So when my wife asked for space, I let her walk away, hoping what we had built would be strong enough to withstand it.

When she shows up three years later in Seattle, smack dab in the middle of the best season the franchise has ever had, I’m torn between trying to figure out my marriage and not letting my teammates down.

I’ve never been one to shy away from a fight, and I refuse to start now. This time, though, it’s more than just a game on the line—it’s my marriage, and I refuse to call it quits.

MATCH PENALTY is a standalone hockey romance novel. It includes a marriage in trouble (angst), second chances, first loves, discovering yourself, a very grumpy hero falling first, plenty of “my wife” moments, found family vibes, absurd group chats with teammates, and a happy ending. There is no cheating in this book.

Teagan definitely saved the best for last with this one.

Callum and Chloe’s story is my favorite by far this series. And if you have been reading this series from the start, we now see why Callum was a bit of a grump this entire series. He’s married!! But they separated (never divorced) as neither were really ready to let go fully.

I won’t give away any details about these two or their story. Teagan delivered a very real, authentic and highly emotional story. I felt everything these two went through – confusion, heartache, love, passion – all of it!I want to say so much, but I won’t. I think what made this book come to life for me was because I had no idea what to expect with these two, what they were experiencing as the story moved along and I want other reads to experience that without any knowledge but the blurb.

This book is why I love second chance romances! This was the perfect ending for this series.

Release Day Blitz & Review…No, Don’t Ever Stop by Marni Mann

No, Don’t Ever Stop by Marni Mann is now live!

A guarded billionaire single dad meets the one woman who could heal his heart in this emotional and blisteringly hot romance by USA Today bestselling author Marni Mann.

One look at former NFL player Gavin Worthington has Emily craving things she shouldn’t. Yet his scorching-hot body and dangerously perfect smile are everything she wants. At the same time, a single glance at the breathtakingly sexy Emily Wren and her unforgettable blue eyes has Gavin desiring things he hasn’t in years.

Their agreement is simple: one night of uninhibited pleasure. No strings, no complications.

But one taste isn’t enough, and he can’t get Emily out of his head.

Gavin never lets women get close—his seven-year-old son, Ben, is his entire world. But there’s something about the gorgeous nurse that breaks through every wall he’s built. The second book in the Billionaires of Boston series and another amazing read!! Yes, it can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading them in order to get the full enjoyment because there is some overlap from the first book.

No, Don’t Ever Stop hits the ground running from the very start. The sparks are flying between Gavin and Emily almost immediately and things only heat up from there. Let’s just say that the first night scene is off the charts perfection.

I won’t say anything more. I inhaled this story and loved every bit of this story. From their interactions, banter, their chemistry to the how they are with one another as things progress. I loved that they personally did not change but they learned how they made one another better being together.

GAH! Marni never misses the mark on these books and keeps readers vested the entire time. Another fantastic story from Marni!!

If you read my reviews, then you know I am a huge ran of Kandi’s. I adore her, her writing and the characters she brings to life. She is my queen of angst.

I really enjoyed the layout of this book and how Kandi chose to write it. Each chapter starts off with crew talking things over with the producer as one would with a reality TV show. This was a unique way of getting other character’s perspectives without actually having multiple POVs in this book. I would like to notate this book could easily be written like Kandi’s PSU series (my favorite by her), and she could write one season per book with POV from multiple characters – just throwing that out into the universe – HINT HINT Kandi!!

I loved the dramatics and antics that happened throughout this entire book. I enjoyed how everyone interacted with one another, including the guests they all waited on. It showed multiple sides to these characters and what they were capable of handling. Did I like every characters, no, but I think that is to be expected in this environment.

Since I am a huge fan of hers, people will assume my review is biased based on that alone. Trust me, there are one or two of her books that were not for me, and my reviews of those books speak to that. So no, my reviews are always honest because not every book will connect with me and I truly believe that not every book will be for everyone.

Overall, I did really enjoy this. I did wish we got to read from Finn’s perspective, but that’s a personal preference. Kandi did a great job of showing Ember’s growth and her finally understanding that she doesn’t need anyone’s acceptance to realize how amazing she is.

It’s supposed to be temporary.
A clean solution to a messy problem.

I don’t think there will ever be a book that Bella writes that I do not devour in hours and absolutely love.

Listen, every new book she releases, I feel like I love it more than the last one. But it’s really just Bella’s ability to make me want to live in her stories and be a part of these fake places she creates.

Sweet Oblivion is Ryker and Delaney’s story. Let me just preface this by saying I previously thought I found my favorite Beneventi man, but Ryker just took that title easily.

I want to say so much about these two and what all went on this book, but I won’t. But I will say these two are perfect for each in every way. I love how attentive Ryker was to Delaney. And Delaney – my heart is with her through this entire book – lover her.

Sweet Oblivion is a perfect addition this series!

Getting to Yes
Nineteen-year-old Chris enters adulthood determined to find something authentic. Reflecting on his encounters with women, he navigates attraction, miscommunication, and emotional growth. Through colorful and often humorous episodes, he attempts to understand what intimacy requires.

Each relationship contributes to his evolving perspective. Some moments are sweet, others bittersweet, but all leave an imprint. Then he meets Chloe, and the connection feels distinct from the rest. Faced with the possibility of something deeper, Chris must decide whether he is ready to embrace vulnerability. The story captures the uncertainty and hope that accompany the journey toward lasting love.

Tim Hunniecutt has loved words since childhood, writing poems and stories for family and friends from an early age. Lifeguards have played a meaningful role in his life, from the rescue of his younger brother to several of his own children who later worked as lifeguards. He studied psychology and English at Florida State University, where the emotional spark for this story began after he fell in love during his first summer home from school. He now lives in Lithia, Florida, with that same girl, now his wife, and enjoys traveling, escape games, ballroom dancing with her, and time with his grandchildren.

Q&A with Author, Tim Hunniecutt

When did this story or idea “click” into place for you—was there a single moment you knew you had to write it?

Getting to Yes: I had long thought about using the subject matter for this novel, but had never been able to think about how to frame it and end it. One day, I was thinking about it, and the solution came to me. I started writing the novel the next day.

Some Love Lasts: I was thinking of a backstory for another novel centered around the hurricane and the rescue, when the story of this girl came into dazzling focus. An image popped into my head of her standing in the road, covered in blood, in the hot Florida afternoon, having just saved the man she loved, who had saved her as a teenager.  I knew I needed to tell her story.

Which character or real-life person surprised you the most while writing this book, and why?

Getting to Yes: When Chris realizes his relationship with Colleen imploded because he failed to tell her how intense his feelings for her had become. He had denied to himself what he really felt and his realization that failure to communicate leads him to sharing with Chloe too soon which causes him a new set of problems that sets up the whole last part of the novel.
Some Love Lasts: Madi’s mother, Elizabeth. As the story progressed, I was surprised at how Elizabeth’s strength had come from overcoming trauma, and that experience caused her to show her daughter tenderness when she needed it most. Madi inherited more than her looks from her mother. She also got her mental toughness.

What’s one belief, question, or emotional truth you hope readers carry with them long after they finish your book?

Getting to Yes: Despite his rejections and heartbreaks the male lead never stops trying until he finds his love. It all starts by trying.

Some Love Lasts: Love is more than an emotion. A lot of this book is an attempt to illustrate what that “more” means.

If your book were invited to join a shelf with three other titles, which ones would make you happiest—and what would that shelf say about your story?

Getting to Yes:

A Room with a View by Ford Madox Ford

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

All stories of a male protagonist falling hard and fast and initially being not accepted. None of them give up until they are each successful.

Some Love Lasts:

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

The Princess Bride by William Goldman

All great books about the enduring power of love that some love lasts regardless of the obstacles or time itself.

Visit Tim at his website and on Facebook.

I read a good amount of YA romances and they tend to be more on the light and sweet side and usually not a whole lot of depth to the story itself. And that isn’t a bad thing (I enjoy those stories) but Tim’s YA romance definitely hit on a more mature YA and I absolutely loved.

The blurb is all you need to know going into this book. I won’t rehash that in my review. But what I will say is that I loved being able to visualize and experience the growth of these characters from their respectful perspectives.

Tim does a wonderful job of capturing these two at two different points in their lives and brilliantly showcasing those actions, emotions and mannerisms at each point.

The writing is in this book just pulls you in and keeps you there the entire. Something that normally doesn’t really stand out to me in romance novels is the setting, unless it’s small-town romances that involve certain things. Tim brings Florida to life in this story; their college lives are so vivid on these pages.

I truly loved that I could not only feel what these characters are going through, but I could visualize the settings, the nuances – everything – and that just adds another layer to this story that made it magnificent.

Definitely going to read his other book, Getting To Yes.

If you have read Monica Murphy before, then you know she’s the queen of YA romances. She has dabbled in YA suspense/mystery before with Pretty Dead Girls, so I liked seeing her step into this genre once again.

I would absolutely agree that this book is in line with individuals who like Gossip Girl. However, for those of you who read mystery/suspense on the regular like myself, please remember this is not Monica’s normal genre, so you might be able to figure some things out faster than her readers of YA and NA romance.

The pacing of this story was good. I liked how things were unraveled as the story progressed but also keeping the reader guessing. The part that was difficult for me to accept was the insta-romance between Billie and Connor. I felt like that should have been blended in better and maybe not so rushed at the beginning.

Honestly, if you are a Monica Murphy fan – you will love this book. It has all her wonderful YA elements with some added mystery that I know her readers will really enjoy.

As a mystery reader, I still enjoyed this one because I really love Monica’s writing and her story lines. It didn’t bother me that I was able to figure some things out. I enjoyed the story and how it was told.

Release Day Blitz & Review…Almost Ruined by Abby Millsaps

Almost Ruined by Abby Millsaps is now live!

Mutual destruction makes way for hope and healing in Almost Ruined, the third and final book in the new dark, why choose, college hockey romance series from bestselling author Abby Millsaps.

I told Mercer I’d never forgive him, and I meant every word of that promise.

He hurt Tytus in the most awful, deleterious way while Noah just stood by and let it happen.

All three men in my life have contributed to the toxic, unnecessary agony of our collective heartache, but I’m the one who brought them together. This is all my fault. Everything is ruined, and I have no one to blame but myself.

I almost captured that once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, and I was lucky enough to experience it three times over. But almost has never been enough.

I’ll miss Mercer’s bold, dominant attentiveness just as much as I’ll yearn for Noah’s sweet, gentle brand of care. I’ll spend the rest of my life craving Ty’s intense possessiveness.

It all ends now.

I refuse to choose between them, so I’m opting out entirely. I’d rather break my own heart and mourn the loss of them for the rest of my life than let them hurt each other ever again.

Almost Ruined is the third and final book the Men of Evercrisp Orchard trilogy.

Yes, these books must be read in order as it’s a Why Choose series that surrounds Sawyer and the three men she loves inexplicably – Tytus, Noah and Mercer.

This book continues on where from we were left dangling on a cliffy in book two and praying Tytus isn’t forever harmed from what happened. We see Noah is beside himself with what happened and Mercer is remorseful, but is it because he saw how it devastated Sawyer or because of the great harm and injury to Tytus??

Each man is 10000% different from another but they also compliment one another in their relationship with Sawyer. All of these characters have ALOT of healing to do – on their own. That is where my issue comes in with this last book. I feel as readers, we are to assume they get the much needed help they need (we only know that Mercer gets help, which is absolutely necessary). But I feel like the other three rely on their dependency to each other to cope with their issues and not really work past it.

Also – please heed the TW in this book. There are certain scenes in the beginning that might be triggering for some (it didn’t bother me, but I know it will for others), so please be read them before starting.

Abby definitely delivers on the spicy scenes in this one and I really enjoyed seeing how these 4 come together (pun intended) in the end.

A great series for anyone who enjoys Why Choose Romances – just please read the TW before starting.

Release Day Blitz & Review…The Hotshot by Piper Rayne

The Hotshot by Piper Rayne is now live!

Raising my cousin’s three kids wasn’t in my five-year plan.
Actually, it wasn’t in any plan.

One minute I’m a single labor and delivery nurse living a quiet life and the next, I’m navigating guardianship hearings, meltdowns, and homework I’m pretty sure requires a math degree.

Enter Hayes Carlisle.

My best friend’s older brother.
Chicago Colts newest catcher.
And the man I once kissed and immediately pretended I didn’t.

So, when the custody battle I’ve been dreading becomes a reality, I shouldn’t be surprised that Hayes swoops in with a wild idea—a fake relationship. According to him, pretending we’re together will polish his image and prove to the court I’m not taking on an instant family alone.

But pretending to be Hayes’ girlfriend is a terrible idea.

Because he remembers how to make me laugh.
Because he looks at me like our kiss wasn’t a one-time mistake.
Because the kids start asking him to read bedtime stories.
Because my heart starts wanting things my life doesn’t have room for.

I can manage the chaos. I can fight for these kids.
But pretending not to fall for Hayes Carlisle?

That might be the one thing I can’t do.

Duet Narration by: JF Harding & CJ Bloom

Also Featuring: Teddy Hamilton, Sean Masters, Connor Crais, Erin Mallon, Willa Jaymes, Meg Sylvan & Austin Stone

Goodreads: https://bit.ly/41QEV0V

This writing duo smashed the first book in this series out of the park.

The Hotshot follow Hayes and Leighton.

Leighton recently gained guardianship of 3 kids and needs to prove that she is able to take care of them when a custody battle ensues.

Hayes just ended a rather rough season and is looking to fix his image a bit. Enter his solution with Leighton to fake relationship to save them both.

Talk about a slow-burn romance. Hayes won me over with his ways of always being there for Leighton and the kids. The chemistry between these two was amazing, but I love how it slowly built to neither one could deny it any longer.

I want to say so much more, but won’t. Just know that this story is filled with great banter, some funny moments, along with the sweet and spicy to round everything out.

I am really excited for this series!
