A new second chance single dad stand alone romance set in the world of the Wrights from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…
At seventeen, I left Isaac Donoghue behind to become a professional ballerina.
When I return home to dance in the Nutcracker, I never expect to run into him. Let alone on my first day in town.
I can’t help but admire him in a crisp suit with his toned soccer body, chiseled jawline, and all too familiar piercing green eyes. I thought nothing could surprise me more.
Until his five year old daughter runs out of the ballet studio.
I’m only in town for a month. I shouldn’t get involved with anyone, especially the ex I’ve been pining after for years.
Especially now that he’s a single dad with a daughter to consider.
But where Isaac is concerned, I’ve never been able to stay away.
With the help of some Christmas magic, maybe we finally have a shot at our second chance.
If you are looking for a quick and sweet holiday romance, A Wright Christmas is the book you are looking for.
A Wright Christmas is novella that will feature small glimpses of characters from the Wright Series but you do not need to read any of those to enjoy this one.
The blurb tells you exactly what you get in this story, so I won’t bore you by repeating what the author tells you. What makes this story enjoyable is Isaac and persistence in showing Peyton he won’t be so easy to give up a second time.
This love story is sweet and gives you some warm tingly feelings. I did not notice that I get the deep emotions that I prefer to have in my romance stories, but this was a short book so it was to be expected. There is very little steamy parts and a few unnecessary dramatic parts, but overall, it’s what you can expect from a holiday romance novella.
Looking for a quick holiday read? A Wright Christmas will get you ready and leave you feeling in the holiday spirit.
Meet K.A. Linde
K.A. Linde is the USA Today bestselling author of the Avoiding Series, Wrights, and more than thirty other novels.
She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team.
She loves reading fantasy novels, binge-watching Supernatural, traveling, and dancing in her spare time.
She currently lives in Lubbock, Texas, with her husband and two super-adorable puppies.
I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother.
My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.
But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office.
Coerced into participating in the teacher’s badminton league.
And instigated into passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education and decorum while losing my underwear at the same time.
Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.
PROLOGUE:
**GREER**
“Before we get started, I’ve been told I need to ask you a question.” Stella sits cross-legged in front of me, a nervous look on her face, water in hand.
“Oh?” I ask, trying to act casual as I bring my glass of red wine to my lips. I have a scary inkling what this might be about.
She glances over at Coraline and winces. “Uh, I feel weird asking.”
Oh God . . . I was right.
Shifting, I say, “You know, we don’t have to—”
“Then why bring it up if you’re not going to propose your query?” Keiko asks impatiently while pushing her green-rimmed glasses up on her nose. “You know the frequency of these meetings is dependent upon staying within the comprehensive itinerary I composed during my lunchbreak.”
“Cool your bloomers, Keeks,” Coraline says while taking a large sip from her wine glass. “I want to know what’s making Stella so fidgety.”
The four founding members of the Ladies in Heat Book Club—aka my mismatched collection of friends—each bring diverse and unique character traits to our group.
Keiko “Keeks” Seymour—resident AP chemistry teacher at Forest Heights High School. Her social etiquette is lacking, her intelligence is off the charts, and she’d rather play with beakers than penises. She wasn’t thrilled about the book club name and made a noble attempt to explain why her suggestion, the Austen Empowerment Collaborative, was far more credible. Majority ruled, she lost.
Stella Garcia—Spanish teacher at Forest Heights and my co-coach. Currently single, makes the best tamales I’ve ever had, and is one stamp away from getting a free donut at Frankie Donuts. Can be shy at times, but when it comes to her family and friends, she doesn’t take shit from anyone. Loyal to the core, one of the reasons I adore her.
Coraline “Cora” Turner—recent divorcée and living with her brother, Arlo. Jobless at the moment and couldn’t care less about it since both she and Arlo have enough inheritance to last them a lifetime. Often annoyed by her older brother or annoying him, doesn’t partake in Twitter—says it’s a filthy pool of opinions, and is the first to offer up a bottle of wine.
Then there’s me . . .
Greer Gibson—twenty-four-year-old fresh to the teaching scene as Forest Heights’s new English teacher and women’s volleyball coach. I love running, have a penchant for a man in a cardigan, and can get a little noisy in the classroom while teaching. I currently share a classroom wall with Arlo Turner, Forest Heights most prestigious English teacher, and might have lost my underwear—
“Out with it, Stella,” Cora says, snapping at her.
“Please, so we can proceed,” Keeks says, straightening her notepad on her lap.
Stella looks me in the eyes and says, “Brock wants to know if there’s anything going on between you and Turner. Apparently, Turner won’t say a thing, but Brock thinks there’s some strong sexual tension building.”
Cora whips her head to me, her eyes wide. “Are you getting it on with my brother?”
Finger pointed in the air, Keeks leans in and says, “The proper term amongst company would be coitus.” Rolling her eyes, Cora asks, “Did you have coitus with my brother?”
“You could also say intercourse if that amuses your jargon more,” Keeks adds. “Or copulating would be sufficient. But if you are inclined toward romantic terminology, since we are in the presence of the book club, you could say lovemaking or performing intimate acts. Although, given the circumstances of when coitus took place—in the work environment—I would deduce that your actions were performed carnally rather than with the interest of developing a devoted accord.”
“Good God, Keeks,” Cora says, irritated. “Who cares what it’s called? We just want to know if it happened.” Cora looks me in the eyes. “Did it?”
Did it . . .
Good question.
I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance when I was hired at Forest Heights, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met.
My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun, bring the volleyball team to a state championship, and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.
But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office.
Infiltrate the teachers’ athletic league.
And had passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education, decorum, and student-teacher friendships. Not to mention I’ve lost my panties to him in my dreams more than I care to admit.
Why did this all happen?
Simple.
The man dresses in a cardigan, that’s how.
Arlo Turner. The bane of my existence, annoyance to my sanity, and the only man who’s ever made me want to spread my legs in a classroom.
He’s torn down my metaphorical walls, strapped on a cottony cardigan—pushed up the sleeves—and has driven me to the brink of insanity, so now whenever I hear the mention of his name, my legs automatically spread, and my heartrate picks up.
Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason my star athlete is struggling to keep her grades up.
He’s the reason I tend to avoid the teacher breakroom.
And he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.
See Me After Class is quick pace and funny story. I read this one so fast and enjoyed every aspect of it.
Greer is starting her first teaching job at public school that is held in high regards and one of the hardest for teachers to get jobs at. She has a unique take on teaching and it’s her methods that annoy a certain teacher.
Arlo was one of the teachers that interviewed Greer for he job and wasn’t all that happy when she was hired. He’s in charge of the English department and holds all his teachers accountable. However, Greer throws a wrench into everything and he’s not sure how to handle her.
I really enjoyed this book. You know that there is an attraction and some chemistry between Greer and Arlo. However, they both loathe one another for various reasons. But that sexual tension makes the anger between them even more charged.
Meghan writes characters that are quirky yet memorable and they feel so real. This book flowed beauitfully and the characters made it all the more enjoyable. The is was the perfect romcom for me. I cannot wait to see if she brings us books about a few other charcters we got to know in this one.
About the Author:
USA Today Bestselling Author, wife, adoptive mother, and peanut butter lover. Author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance, Meghan Quinn brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.
Blurb: Lydia Montgomery is a Tramp. After fleeing a tragic past, Lydia’s determined never to go back to the life she left behind at any price. She lands in Grand Haven, California—a city booming with billion-dollar corporations and tech money—and everything changes. Armed with the only lesson she learned from her mother, Lydia builds a life of routine, solitude, and success. Nothing is out of reach when you’re beautiful. Nearly a decade after her arrival, Lydia’s the highest paid escort in the city, and only the most influential people in Grand Haven can get near her. She’s a goddess among her clients, and out of reach to everyone else. Lydia’s created the perfect illusion, and no one will take it from her again. Until a misunderstanding lands her in the office of the city’s most eligible bachelor. Talent Ridge is Grand Haven royalty. Despite running in the same circles as Lydia’s clients, he’s scandal-free and on his way to being the most powerful man in the area. Their chemistry is undeniable, but a relationship has the potential to destroy everything they’ve worked for. Especially when Lydia is running from her past, and Talent is running toward a future she can never be a part of. Beauty and money can’t save them this time. Are Lydia and Talent willing to give it all up for each other, or will their differences cost too much?
Tramp is the start of Mary’s next series and she does not hold back. This book was more than I anticipated and that made me love it even more
Lydia is a high-end escort; a tramp in Grand Haven. But she’s got her one set of rules and she refuses to budge from her routine.
Talent is one of Grand Haven’s most eligible bachelors and one of many prominent men.
Lydia is sent to entertain Talent, something that is outside her usual schedule. However, what makes things even more interesting is that Talent was unaware of who Lydia is. And that sends both on a path neither could have predicted.
I won’t go into many details about his book because that is what made this book come to life. Even the smallest details, gave this story another layer and more depth to the characters.
Getting to know Lydia and her past, sheds a lot of light on where she is now and why she operates the way she does. She is very cold and closed off. However, as the reader, you find yourself understanding why.
Talent had no problems holding back on how he felt towards Lydia. However, he himself has his own secrets. He’s not as pure as everyone thinks.
The passion and intense connection between Lydia and Talent set these pages on fire, even if it was just a look or a touch. I could not get enough of them.
I am quite intrigued on how things will continue in the next book. I enjoyed the added suspense that Mary weaved into this story. She delivered just right amount of puzzle pieces to keep things enticing and readers right at the edge.
Tramp is an intriguing read that flows at a beautiful pace with characters you will enjoy. I am so ready for the next book.
About the Author: Mary Elizabeth was born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She’s a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night. Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it’s perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she’s not letting go until every story is told.
The night Luke Rosen met Scarlett Marks was the only time he’s regretted becoming chief of police. One horrific night of blood and death, and now she’s living under his roof–all because he swore an oath to serve and protect. Scarlett is stubborn and infuriating. She has no respect for the order in his structured life, and she never does anything she’s told. Worse, she doesn’t seem to care that the information she has on a motorcycle gang means she might end up dead. But her unwavering strength, her courage and tenacity and beauty, makes it impossible for him to abandon her. If Luke is going to keep her safe, he’ll have to make the hardest decision of his life. He can either honor his values as a cop, knowing Scarlett is unlikely to survive . . . or he can break all the rules and protect the woman who’s invaded his home and his heart.
“If you’re not going to get out of the way, I’ll just go around.” I spun on my shoes, whirling the opposite direction, but when I went to take a step and carry my basket away, I suddenly found its weight missing from my arm. He’d stolen it from me before I’d had the chance to clutch it tight.
Then the world was spinning. The floors, the ceiling, everything flipped topsy-turvy.
I’d fainted.
No, that wasn’t right.
I was being carried. Hauled. That had been Luke’s threat and damn it, I’d underestimated him. The chief had made good on his word.
His shoulder dug into my belly as he walked. I lifted my face, pushing the hair out of my eyes. My basket of food sat exactly where I’d been standing. My chicken and rolls and cookies and chocolate milk. The items grew smaller with every one of Luke’s strides.
“Put me down.”
He kept walking.
“Put me down!” I shouted.
Still, he kept walking.
I lifted a hand and raised it above my head. My hair kept falling in front of my face, obscuring my vision, but that didn’t stop me from using every ounce of strength I had left. I brought my fist down on Luke’s lower back. Except my aim was shit so I didn’t hit his back. No, my fist bounced off his firm, perfect ass.
Luke didn’t so much as break his stride. “I promised Presley I’d keep you safe.”
And without another word, without stopping, he carried me in a fireman’s hold out of the grocery store and into the snow.
I was going back to the daisies, whether I wanted to or not.
Hello, Scarlett. I’m rock bottom.
Noble Prince is the fourth book in the Tin Gypsy series by Devney Perry. This book picks up exactly where Stone Princess ended and yes, it can be read as a standalone, but I would highly discourage that. There is underlying storyline that runs through each book and it’s also how it ties every single character together which just makes the books all the more gripping and enthralling.
Noble Prince is Luke and Scarlett’s story. Luke is the Chief of Police and Scarlett is the twin sister of Presley. If you read Stone Princess, then you’ll know Luke took Scarlett from Presley’s house and has been keeping her under his protection til he feels it is safe for her to be out on her own. However, no-one knows that Scarlett is under Luke’s protection. Everyone thinks he sent her on way and is keeping an eye out for her in other ways.
Noble Prince is much a slower paced story than the previous books. But it has to be. Scarlett has a danger past and is afraid to trust anyone. Luke has to keep looking over his shoulder and be more vigilant than ever before to keep Scarlett safe and hidden.
I love how this story unfolds and plays out between Luke and Scarlett. They are both attracted to one another but are cautious around one another for their own reasons. Watching not only the chemistry build between them, but the trust and companionships just made it all the more real and authentic. Scarlett really came into her own in this book and seeing Luke become stronger not only in who he is, but his job, added another layer to these characters
Devney does a phenomenal job of blending the romance with the suspense in this story. Neither overshadowed the other, but played key parts throughout the story. Each part of the story blended and flowed perfectly into one another, making the story seamless and fly by quicker than I anticipated. It may be a slow-burn story but it is a quick read because of well it is written.
I cannot wait for the next book, Fallen Jester. Devney has set this one up perfectly!
Meet Devney
Devney is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in Washington with her husband and two sons. Born and raised in Montana, she loves writing books set in her treasured home state. After working in the technology industry for nearly a decade, she abandoned conference calls and project schedules to enjoy a slower pace at home with her family. Writing one book, let alone many, was not something she ever expected to do. But now that she’s discovered her true passion for writing romance, she has no plans to ever stop.

Until she meets the team’s new star player. Their chemistry is instant, igniting the stadium and her heart. But the last thing she needs is a distraction, much less a surly God of the clay diamond who seems to despise her.
Fate has other plans, though. If they’re found out, it could mean the end of both of their careers. Except hurtling so close to the danger zone has never felt more right.
Hayes Swindell would prefer hell over the place he ended up.
After a series of bribes and blackmail gone bad, the league’s most desirable veteran superstar finds himself playing on a team that he wants no part of. The family who runs this dynasty is corrupt, and he’s spent his career avoiding limelight exactly like this.

In his ten years in the league, he’s never once gotten bit by the love bug. But the moment he lays eyes on her, Hayes can see his days are numbered. When the forbidden happens, he has a decision to make.

Author Bio
Author of romance novels such as The Tenth Girl and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.
When she isn’t writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She’s a Jersey girl living in Texas with her husband, daughter, son and Great Dane/Lab rescue.
WOW. This book was so much more emotional than I anticipated. I am truly at a loss for words on this one. I am going to have a book hangover after this.
Reforming Kent is the tenth and finally book in the Kennedy Boys series. It may be a standalone, but I HIGHLY, HIGHLY urge readers to read these books in order.
I honestly have no idea what to say. Siobhan ripped me open with Kent’s story and my heart is flayed. The emotions she rocked me with are powerful and have left me breathless. To say I am emotionally wrecked is an understatement, but it’s a good thing.
Reforming Kent is a story of first loves and reveling in those feelings. It’s also confronting pain, hurt and anger from a past that was buried so deep that any attempt to move past it, brings those demons alive making the past become the present.
“Never forget that no one can save you if you don’t save yourself first.”
One thing I have loved and will always love is Siobhan’s ability to never sugarcoat or hold back on anything in her stories. What her characters endure are unfortunate realties and it makes these stories all that more raw and deep. I will say this – if you have a hard time dealing with abuse and rape, read this book with extreme caution. It will bring those horrors to life – trust me on this. But I will never fault Siobhan for making me feel so much; for many of us it is sometimes cathartic when we empathize with these characters.
I loved seeing Kent grow in so many ways in this book. He kept himself closed off to everyone and lost himself in booze, sex and drugs. Presley was a light he never expected and her aloofness and strength challenged him. Presley wasn’t about to be another notch on his bed post and Kent never gives up when he wants something. As these two move along in their friendship/relationship, they learn more about each other and it’s this connection that makes them inseparable. Presley is the perfect woman for Kent – she handles and understands him in ways even his family doesn’t. But their journey is not an easy one – it’s not one for the faint of hearts either.
Siobhan’s writing is flawless. She knows how to grip her readers at the right moment and keeps you engaged in the story the entire time. Her characters are authentic, real and unforgettable. This book, this whole series, is one I will never foret.
Siobhan – you won me over with your first book about Kyler and made me an insta-fan. With Kent, you’ve only strengthened my love for your writing, your characters and their stories. I am sad this series has to come and end, but I am forever grateful that you gave us the Kennedy Brothers. They are forever etched in my soul and this series will always be in my favorites.

R.S. Grey’s next standalone romcom, Date Me Like You Mean It, is coming out November 5th! Check it out and be sure to grab yours November 5th!
Title: Date Me Like You Mean It
Author: R.S. Grey
Genre: Rom-Com
Release Date: November 5th
About Dare Me Like You Mean It:
I’m good at hiding my feelings.
Having to pretend I’m not in love with my best friend?
Pfft. That’s child’s play.
Here’s how I do it: I avert my eyes when he walks out of his room, shirtless in all his toned glory. I squash the butterflies that fill my stomach every time he slowly unfurls a dimpled smile. And, most importantly, I keep an arsenal of “personal massagers” in my bedside drawer. Wink.
Not to brag, but Aiden Smith isn’t hard to resist if you’ve been doing it for as long as I have. In fact, we might have continued as best friends forever if not for the fact that I needed him to play the part of my fake boyfriend.
Date me like you mean it, I told him. Nudge nudge. C’mon, just go along with a little lie, help a girl out, and then we can all return to life as we know it.
Except he veered from the plan.
He crossed the line.
Flirting with me when no one else was around? Pinning me down and kissing me like that? Okay, how exactly is taking off my bra part of the ruse, Aiden?!
I’d ask him about it if I could, but well…things got ugly and we’re not best friends anymore.
In fact, we’re the exact opposite.
Now, I have to play nice even though I want to crush his heart in the palm of my hand.
Pretending not to love Aiden was the easy part.
Pretending not to hate him?
Well…I might need a little more practice.

The Bribe is a debut novel for Willa Nash, but it’s pen name for Devney Perry so we already knew we were in for an amazing story.
The Bribe is the perfect start to this small-town romance series. We meet Duke and Lucy and a slew of other outstanding characters in this book and they will all win you over. Duke and Lucy’s first meeting was quite unusual and truly quite entertaining. They never thought they’d see one another again and just let it be.
When Lucy makes Calamity her new home – she gets more than she expected – Duke, who’s the sheriff of the town. Even from their first unexpected meeting, you could feel the chemistry between these two coming off the pages. I won’t say much as the blurb does the perfect job of setting you up. Just know that Nilla delivers an exceptional small-town romance wth characters you will love. I cannot wait to meet more of this town’s folks and see what happens next. And Nilla has set us up for the next book perfectly!
