I could either do the right thing, or I could let him crash and burn, paving the way for my family to get their greatest wish.

The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didnāt notice until it was far too late.
Vanessa:
The devil doesnāt always wear an evil mask.
Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.
Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.
I thought he was my savior.
But heās my ruination.
And heās just taken a machete to my heart.
Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And Iām out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except heās not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when Iām done with Vanessa, sheāll wish she was dead.

BREAKING NEWS: The Bad Boy of Baseball, Maddox Paige, is totally and utterly whipped.
Okay, that might not be the headlines in the newspaper this morning, but it’s the reality of my current situation.
It all started a month ago when I received a call from my best friend, Kinsley. She got a new job in Chicago and needed a place to stay. I’ve known the girl since I was five, what harm would it be to have her stay at my place for a while?
Ha! Total disaster.
Now instead of going out every night with my teammates, I’m couch surfing and sketching endless photos of my best friend . . . but that’s the least of my concerns.
The disaster, you ask? I’m rapidly falling head over cleats in love with my best friend, my roommate, and my number one fan.

My mortal enemy.
Gorgeous. All the girls want him.
Quarterback. All the boys want to be his friend. Heās the most popular boy in the senior class.
And he hates me.
Or so I thought.
What I mistook for hatred turns out to beā¦interest. Thereās that thin line, right? It makes me crazy. I canāt stand it. Attraction, chemistry, whatever it is, I also canāt resist it.
And neither can he.
Together, we make no sense. The odds are against us. His friends definitely donāt approve. Iām not a part of their crowd. Not one of the cool kids. I donāt fit in, or so they say.

I’m going to say this not once, but many times. Everyone should read this book. RVD wrote one of the most epic mafia romance’s I have ever read. She came in swinging to remind everyone why she’s the queen of mafia. Amo Jones, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author
Ruthless Princess: A Mafia Royals Romance about best friends turned enemies, by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series is LIVE.
The enemy of my enemy is my friendā¦
I never thought my father would ask this of me, to become the second generation at Eagle Elite University, to rule with an iron fist, and to take care of anyone who gets in our way.
But ever since the incident.
Ever since Him.
Thereās been a war in our little clique.
After all, a house divided cannot stand.
Heās the problem, not me.
He used to kiss me like I was his oxygen.
Now he looks at me like Iām his poison.
But we both drank it, again and again, never believing there would be a day when our love would start a war.
And our friendship would shatter into a million pieces.
Then again, the worst thing you could do in the mafia is hang on to hope that your life will be normal.
He licked his lips and repeated what he always did when we had to perform, when we had to do our jobs. āI wonāt be gentle with you.ā
Our foreheads touched, my chest heaved with exertion like it was hard to breathe when he was so near, but really it was the promise that killed me, a promise that he wouldnāt enjoy touching me ever again, that I was more curse than cure, and yet, I knew it was all we would ever get, these fleeting moments where we did our job too well. āThen make it hurt, baby.ā My voice cracked. āMake it hurt.ā
His lips parted in a groan as he spun me into his arms and crushed his mouth to mine. It was part pain, part pleasure as he pulled my hair then slid a hand up my shirt like nobody was watching when everyone was.
We broke apart, mouths swollen, my lower lip was bleeding.
A reminder for both of usāthis was no cease-fire, this wasnāt real, it was all a carefully constructed show.
āMmmmmā¦ā I smirked. āLooks like Juniorās not playing around tonight, ladies.ā
Screams went up as Junior grabbed my ass and squeezed so hard, I knew I would bruise later. He roughly pulled me against his chest and nipped at my neck.
I told my body it didnāt feel good.
I told my heart we were safe.
And I forced myself to believe the lie every single time we touched.
Because to do otherwiseāwould destroy me.
RVD is going back to her mafia roots and I could not be more excited.Ā Her Eagle Elite series is what made me a hardcore RVD fan back in 2013.Ā I have thoroughly enjoyed every book she has written since, but her mafia stories hold special place in my heart and I jumped at the change to read an advance copy of her newest series.
Ruthless Princess is the start of Mafia Royals series and Rachels throws down the blades from the very start.Ā You do not need to read the Eagle Elite series to read this series because it is a whole new group of characters – kids of the Eagle Elite.Ā The Mafia bosses do make appearances, however it’s more with showing of a lineage and helps give you and understanding how all these kids related.Ā It is a lot to taken in, but Rachel does it with ease so you are not lost.
And when I say kids, I say that very loosely.Ā They are adults now – all in their college years.Ā But growing up in the mafia makes you mature much faster than a child normally would.Ā Rachel definitely lets her characters rule the pages and does not hold back on anything.Ā There is a lot of blood, sex and intense scenes.Ā And I LOVED EVERY DAMN BIT OF IT!!!
Ruthless Princess is truly Serena and Junior’s story.Ā But Rachel also uses it to set the stage for what is come of all the cousins within this series.Ā She does is gracefully and never deters from the main story – Serena and Junior’s their forbidden romance.
I will not into details about anything.Ā Just know that not once is there a slowdown in this book.Ā Rachel brings the perfect mix of suspense, steam and even some humor to keep things entertaining on the lighter side.Ā The new Mafia Regime is not holding back on anything and they are determined to not repeat the mistakes of their fathers.
As I said before, you can read this book as a standalone and not have a problem.Ā However, I can’t promise you that after reading this, that you won’t want to go back and read the Eagle Elite series.Ā Rachel does a phenomenal job of introducing the next generation in the Elite mafia and holds back on nothing.
Another great series that will give RVD fans something to look forward to every year with a new mafia progeny.

I stared dully at my painting. My creative mood had left the building, under the weight of the many questions going around and around in my head. Adrenaline made it hard for me to sit still. Cursing Jamie under my breath, I grabbed my laundry basket and headed toward the front door. Peering through the peephole, I double-checked his door was shut before I left my apartment. Glowering at his door as I passed, I hurried downstairs. How the hell had he maneuvered himself into my building? And why?
To my gratitude, the laundry room was empty as I crashed around inside it. I hauled out my stash of detergent and softener from my allocated locker and started separating my whites. That rat bastard. My heart raced, sweat gathered under my arms, and it agitated me. An encounter with Jamie was the equivalent of fifteen shots of caffeine.
And I hated that he knew I was lying to Asher. Something he could easily hold over my head.
āYou are a very angry laundry doer.ā
Jamieās deep, rich voice startled me. Trying to control my breathing, I glared over at him standing in the doorway. Arms and ankles crossed as he leaned casually against the jamb. He wore a T-shirt and jeans. Nothing had changed there.
He was still the sexiest man Iād ever seen.
God, I hate him.
āWhat the hell are you doing in this building?ā I turned my back on him, marching over to the stacked washers and dryers.
āI had no idea you lived here,ā he lied, his voice growing closer as he crossed the room toward me.
Attempting not to react physically, to not hunch my shoulders in tension, I stared unseeing at the machines. What was I in the middle of doing again?
āWhat a surprise to find out youāre my neighbor.ā
I snorted in disbelief and turned around, shocked to find him already in my personal space. āLiar.ā I dragged my gaze insolently down his body and back up. āMove away. And I mean that in more ways than one.ā
āOh, does my presence bother you?ā His wicked smile caused somersaults in my belly.
āWhat are you doing here?ā I ignored his proximity. Okay, I tried to ignore his proximity.
In answer, he stepped into me and I stumbled against the machines at my back. Jamie pressed the palms of his hands on the dryer, caging me in. My breath caught and held as his scent flooded me. That dark, earthy scent was enticing, and my body betrayed my emotions.
Feeling panic rise, I pushed at his chest, but he wouldnāt budge. āJamie?ā
Those ocean eyes wandered over my face, cold, calculating. āHe doesnāt know who I am. You havenāt told him.ā
I lowered my hands. Touching him was even more discombobulating. āNo.ā
He bent his head toward mine until our noses almost touched. I sucked in a breath. āI wonder why youāre keeping it from him?ā
Determined not to let him see how much he affected me, I glared up at him. Heād only have to touch me, hold my hand, to realize I was trembling. His face was so familiar. His lips were lips Iād thought Iād kiss for the rest of my life. Why did the pain of it never dull? Why did it still feel like a shard of glass through my chest? āDid you leak those tapes of Foster Steadman to Asherās mom?ā
Something menacing flashed in his eyes before he banked it. āAnd if I did?ā
āAre you being smart, Jamie?ā
āAre you asking out of concern for me or for your billionaire boy toy?ā
āJamie.ā
āNever mind. I donāt care.ā The bastard dipped his nose to my throat, and I tensed against the stacked machines. He inhaled, his nose brushing my skin, and my fingers bit into the washer behind me. āYou smell different,ā he whispered, lifting his head to my ear. āExpensive perfume. Youāve come up in the world.ā
I felt his breath caress my skin seconds before his teeth touched my earlobe. Gasping, I instinctively pushed my palms against his stomach as he bit down hard, causing a flush of heat between my legs.
With a dark chuckle, Jamie released my ear after one last nibble and whispered, āIs he the jealous type, Jane?ā
Black Tangled Heart is the epitome of a great romantic story.Ā It is a riveting, captivating, heart-stopping and heart-pounding story of passion, grief, revenge beautifully mixed with a rough edge of suspense to keep readers on their toes the entire time.
You can truly never go wrong when picking up a book by Samantha.Ā She writes the most complex characters and her stories are told in a monumental way that leave you feeling as though you lived through it personally.Ā And Black Tangled Heart is the perfect example of just that.
Jane and Jamie’s story plays out from childhood to adulthood and readers can easily see how relationship progresses over time.Ā This story is filled with passionate and steamy scenes along with some very tense scenes.Ā Everything plays out at a perfect pace and keeps readers glued to the pages.
I will not go into any details because this book needs to be read without knowledge aside form the blurb.Ā Readers need to experience every scene without any notion of what it is to come.Ā This story was nothing like I had anticipated and that’s what made it so much more better than anything she has written to date.
This book has easily made it’s way to one of my top reads of 2020.Ā Black Tangled Heart needs to be one book that everyone reads!

We drew a line down the middle, and neither of us has crossed it. That is, until Savannah Reese blew back into our hometown.
The day my high school sweetheart left, she took my whole heart with her. We promised each other forever, made plans that only teenagers could believe in, and crashed and burned on the grandest of scales.
When Savannah last saw me, I was a disgraced high school athlete. All washed up, I took it out on the only person who loved me. Then her world really fell apart, and I was too selfish to care.
Now sheās back, ready to sell the only remaining thing tying us to each other. Iāve been breaking my back for the last ten years not to think about her, not to be reminded of the love we shared.
But now that sheās right here, itās impossible to forget how we used to be. Or let go of what we still are.

A Falling Stars stand-alone romance from A.L. Jackson
Coming June 1st
āRoyce,ā she begged.
All it took was my name raking up her throat for me to completely lose it. No control left.
Fuck it.
Only thing that mattered was getting closer.
I lifted her from the ground, one arm around the small of her back and the other wrapped up in her hair. I pulled her to my hungry mouth, kissing her wild, lips and tongues and teeth.
Cherry coated her sweet tongue, and need thrummed her heart into a fury.
āYou were right, what you said. You were right,ā she whispered frantically. āI want you to take away the pain. Take it . . . just for a little while. Just for tonight.ā
Fuck.
I was a bastard.
A monster.
But I couldnāt stop.
I let my lips travel over her jaw and tumble down her throat, both my hands holding her by the face. The girlās head rocked back on the wall where we were right out in the open, gasping and panting for air as I devoured her sweet flesh.
The girl completely surrendered.
Shit.
This was bad. So bad.
I ripped myself back, which was a goddamn travesty in itself. āWe have to get out of here. Right fucking now.ā

Itās why Iām wearing my girl’s decorative scarf over my head, clutching her lady drink to my chest, and singing ever so softly to Joni Mitchell while swaying back and forth.
This is what therapists refer to as LOSING IT.
Oldest story in the book: boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy screws up MASSIVELY, girl tells boy to suffocate in the fruits of his very own unborn children.
Heard it before? I’m sure you have.
So what’s so different about this story? Well, it’s about me, The Modern Gentleman, New York City’s top advice columnist, and my rather ungraceful downfall from my pristinely polished pedestal.
It’s about a girl I met who threw all my proven theories to the wind and left me awkward, needy, and absolutely head-over-wingtipped shoes in love.
This is a story about June Lacy and how she single-handedly dismantled The Modern Gentleman.
PROLOGUE
Dear Gents,
See that remote in your hand? Yeah, the one thatās covered in pizza sauce and last nightās Buffalo wings? I want you to take a good look at it. Do you have it memorized? Good, now bend at the waist, set it on the coffee table, and stand up. Donāt you dare look at that remote again, donāt even glance at it. And the Xbox thatās calling your name, go ahead and forget about that as well, because guess what? Youāre starting a new journey and it doesnāt include television, video games, or high-fiving over a bubbly belch from the bowels of your intestinal tract. Forget everything youāve ever known about being a man, forget the hall passes you have for being a man, and forget every natural instinct you carry inside your bones. Because Iām here to refine you, replenish your knowledge on the male species, and turn you into a modern gentleman: a well-respected, polished, and confident individual with an epic sex appeal and killer style that will woo any female with a simple flash of your honest charm.
Stick with me, gents. Iām starting a revolution and it begins with you.
Sincerely,
The Modern Gentleman
