First Lindsay but now it is Drew who is locked up with false evidence against him. I have got to tell you that in most series I have an idea of how it will play out but not so much in this one. I love that it is action packed making for a fast read because I could not wait to see what was going to happen next. I wanted to know how Drew was going to save Lindsay! However, it was Lindsay who surprised me in this book more so than Drew, I love that she went balls to the wall on saving her man and herself. Meli Raine’s writing was superb in this series leaving the reader wanting more at the end of each book. This is a must if you are a fan of thrillers, romance and series!

He looked… Damn fine. Black leather jacket covered muscles she could only imagine and his trousers showed off an ass so fine it could grace an underwear ad. What was the question? “I’m sorry?”

“You try to run, darlin’, I’ll hunt.” His eyes glittered. “And I like the chase.”

Her pulse jumped for all the wrong reasons. The thrill of the hunt was something she understood. Enjoyed on multiple occasions, but the challenge in his tone begged for a response. “I’m not going anywhere. With you.”

“Pack.”

She walked to him with a swing to her hips and a sassy smile on her lips. When she got to him, she pressed a finger to his oh-so-firm chest. Her fingers itched to explore all his taut flesh. The man obviously worked out. “Make me.”

“Challenge accepted.” The bangles on her wrist jangled as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. “You wanna play?”

Firm lips tempted as they slanted across hers, moved across her cheeks, leaving a trail of fire to her jawline. Her breath hitched when the hands at her hips pulled her close. The warmth of his hard body was the dream she tried to forget, but couldn’t. She wanted hard and commanding, something to dull her mind, but he moved slow, tangling lips and tongues.

This Blake was controlled where the boy had raced to the main event.

The years and the hurt and the world disappeared under his gentle assault. She drank him in, his breath, his tongue, the press of his lips. She gave herself to it, in anger for the lost years, the lost— Everything.

Lifting to her toes, she took her frustration out on him, forced the hard need into her kiss.

If you read the first book in this series, This Is War, then you will be pleasantly surprised by this book. Because they are like complete opposites in how Travis and Viola interact with one another.

Travis is determined to prove himself to Viola. That she can trust him. That she’s it for him. And Viola wants that – has always truly wanted that. But can these truly make it work with everything that has happened over the years?? And what about Drew – what will be say – if he finds out about these two??

I love how these two authors allowed things to develop in this story. Everything is natural and flows like it should. Travis and Viola slowly move their relationship along all the while keeping it from Drew until it’s a good time to tell him.

Another huge big deal is that neither Travis or Viola give up their dreams just because they are finally figuring out things between them. Everything that happens in this book is very natural, minus Mia and her outrageous antics. And it’s her antics that causes some issues between everyone.

This Is Love plays out beautifully. These two amazing authors have won me over with these characters. The interactions between all of them is amazing (except Mia – she needs a hug around her neck with my hands).

If you’re looking for a series where you can fall in love with all the characters after you’ve berated a few of them for being idiots, then this is the series for you!

What a sweet story. I have always been a sucker for a professional sports player. This one did not disappoint. In fact, it more about the falling in love and the characters themselves rather than the hot steamy sex scenes. Yes, there are some, however, it was not in detail as much as some of the new romance books. I really enjoyed getting to know Miranda and Jake. If you took two of my favorite movies, Pretty Women and Maid in Manhattan, took the best story lines and added a hot NHL player- BAM! You have this wonderful story of Miranda and Jake.

Miranda is a college student that holds two jobs and goes to school full time and Jake is a cocky NHL player. They are so fun to read between the banter, the love scenes and the sweet touching moments. It is such an easy and enjoyable read.

She licked her lips before hovering over his torso. Her tongue snaked out and licked the salt. When her breath warmed his skin, his dick noticed. The situation got worse when she cupped her mouth around the shot glass and sucked it down. By the time she captured the lime wedge from his mouth, he’d come perilously close to the point of no return.

Ah hell…and the movie had just started.

It was his turn next. She lifted her sweater to beneath her rib cage and placed the shot and salt like he’d done. The smell of her skin tickled his nose as he inched closer. It took every ounce of willpower he possessed to not do something really stupid. Even though taking her to bed wasn’t the reason he was here, right now it felt like a great idea, especially when he kissed her, and the taste of lime, tequila, and her mixed inside his mouth.

Her breath whooshed out between her lips. “I…I…”

She couldn’t seem to get the words out and neither could he. Instead, she hit the play button.

High on raging testosterone, it was soon his turn again.

“Oh no.” He pushed her hands away from only revealing her rib cage. “It’s time to go big or go home.”

“What do you mean?” The gulp eased down her throat as she looked at him.

Instead of verbalizing the wayward trajectory of his thoughts, he pulled the sweater over her head, revealing a red lacy bra that didn’t hide a damn thing. Taut nipples poked through like a siren’s call to his overcharged hormones.

Because he wanted to up the ante for no other reason than he’d lost his damn mind, he made the whole situation even more difficult for himself. “This time we’re doing it properly—between your breasts.”

Her eyes drew wide as she lay down. A mixture of trepidation and sexual attraction reflected in her expression. She pulled in a breath as he placed the shot glass and sprinkled the salt on the swell of her right breast. He handed her the slice of lime, and her fingers shook as she placed it in her mouth.

Before he knew what was happening, he’d unhooked her bra.

“I don’t,” I say with an indifferent voice.

But all he does is burst into laughter.

“You can fool them, but you can’t fool me.” I suppose by them, he means the other girls.

“It’s true,” I add, trying to make it more believable.

His laughter stops, and his face turns dark. “No, it’s not.”

“I hate you,” I say.

His fingers curl around my thigh in a possessive manner. “Lie.”

“What do you want me to say?”

“The truth. Be brave.”

I shrug, trying not to let him get to me, even when he does. “I just want the money that you offered me.”
