In the second book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’ Thatch series, Knox Alexander must convince his long-time love Harlow Evans that they’re meant to be together.

He promised to wait for her.
She told him he was wasting his time.
Not waiting for him ended up being the biggest mistake of her life.

When they were younger, Knox Alexander swore to Harlow Evans that he would wait for her to turn eighteen so they could be together. But that was two and a half years away, and Harlow couldn’t ask him to give up all the fun and thrills of going away to college for her. As the years passed, Knox remained a constant in her life—whether she liked it or not—but when her eighteenth birthday came around, Harlow’s heart belonged to someone else.

Every day for the last four years, Harlow has been haunted by that fateful choice. And though he may appear unaffected by what happened in their past, Knox has always tried to fill the void Harlow left. But when he comes stumbling back into her life and refuses to leave, will Harlow finally let him into her heart…?

Molly McAdams - author picAbout Molly McAdams:

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

My Author Space – Blog

Addison Fox

Thanks so much for having me today on the blog! It’s always fun to get a peek inside of others lives and I thought I’d share my writing space with you today.

While I will write anywhere I have a block of time – a coffee shop, an airplane, lunchtime at work – I prefer whenever possible to write in my home office. A converted bedroom, my office is a haven that is full of pieces of my career. My 20th book – THE PROFESSIONAL – comes out this month and I wrote it in this room along with almost every one that came before.

A few highlights:

1 – My Desk.

I love this desk. From the very first moment I saw it in the furniture store, it was everything I was looking for. I love the curved legs and the wide open space on top and, most of all, I love the simplicity. There are no side drawers (which I’d inevitably hit my legs on) and plenty of room to feel comfortable.

A Fox_DESK

2 – My bookshelves

For anyone who’s spent more than three minutes with me, I’ll no doubt end up uttering the following comment – “I’m a reader first.” Part of what I love about writing is reading and there’s not much I love more than a full bookshelf, mixed with old favorites and my TBR pile.

A Fox Bookshelves

3 – My computer

Okay – I own it. It’s not natural to love this little computer as much as I do. This is a workhorse laptop and I’ve dragged this little guy with me everywhere I go, pretty much every day for almost four years. I’m totally attached and feel that my physical equipment is as much a part of the writing as the mental process.

4 – A framed photo of the Alaskan Nights Trilogy

One of my best friends made this piece for me and I absolutely love it. From the first moment I opened this gift I wanted to cry at how thoughtful it was to take something I love and giving it back to me.

5 – The Roses

I’m a member of the Dallas Area Romance Authors and we have a wonderful ceremony at the start of each meeting. Any author who has sold a book gets a rose. While I love our meetings, this is my most favorite part (as it is for most DARA members!) and I remember how desperately I wanted to get my own rose as I worked toward selling my first book.

A Fox_Roses

I keep this vase as a constant reminder of the work and my goals and what we can accomplish when we work toward those goals.

Last – but by no means least!! – is my little furry partner in crime, Max. He’s the best part of writing and I love looking down to see him hanging out next to me.

So there you have it! A bit of a peek behind the scenes where the writing gets done.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

XO,

Addison

Thanks so much for this wonderful tour, Addison!  It was a pleasure having you!  xo, Jillian

Cherished by You by Steph Nuss….Review Blog Tour Stop

Title: Cherished by You (Love in the City #4)
Author: Steph Nuss
Release Date: Oct 7, 2015
Find on Goodreads

“Move in with me,” he said.

Being cherished is how Tessa Wilder always imagined falling in love. But for years, she’s always gone for the wrong guys. Now that she’s fallen for one of the good ones, she fears rejection.

“I can’t,” she replied.

Justin Jameson quit looking for a woman after being used so many times for his brains. A bit of an introvert and completely oblivious to women’s advances, he can’t even see that his friend cherishes everything about him.

When Tessa needs a place to stay, Justin’s the first to offer her a room. Hearts are opened; feelings are ventured. They’ll finally know what it’s like to be cherished in the city until one moment threatens the relationship they’ve built.

“I can’t lose you.”

My Review:

Cherished by You is the fourth book in author Steph Nuss’ Love in the City Series, a series I have really enjoyed form the very beginning. This latest installment was no exception and once again Ms. Nuss has written a book I thoroughly enjoyed!

First, I want to mention that you don’t have to read every story in this series, as they are meant to be standalone books, but I love them all so I vote “yes” to reading them all!

I loved so many things about this story.  Tessa is a strong gal.  She is protective of her little brother after a horrible childhood, and not deterred on bad past experiences and is hopeful to one day find love.  I really admire her strength.  Justin is swoon-worthy.  He is smart, romantic, and although weary of women due to too many users from his past, also still hopeful of love. Together, after being friends for quite some time and ending up moving in together, things go from friend-zone to deliciously hot and emotional and I loved every minute of it!  I always love a good hidden crush/friends to lovers story and this was one of the best ones out there!

This is one of those hidden gems series that I always look forward to reading more of and will recommend to anyone looking for a well-rounded story with lots of emotion, romance, and a great cast of characters.  Thank you, Steph, for another great addition to the Love in the City Series!

“I can’t believe you agreed to live with a woman,” Cash said, sitting down on the couch in my living room with a beer in his hand.
It was Saturday afternoon, and most of the gang was over at my place, waiting for Tessa and her brother to arrive so we could help move all of her stuff in. Maverick and Harper were at home with their baby girl, Seghen, and Paige had a work function with a client.
I really couldn’t believe it either. I’d never had a roommate before who wasn’t some sort of family member, but I knew I didn’t want Tessa living in some dilapidated hole in Grand Concourse again. Just hearing her talk about growing up there pissed me off.
“Living with a woman isn’t so bad,” Carter stated proudly, with his arm slung over Elly’s shoulder. “They make the place smell good. They’re nice to look at.”
“They cook,” Fletcher added, rubbing Bayler’s thigh. They weren’t living together yet, but they stayed together enough that he enjoyed the benefits of Bayler’s excellent cooking skills.
“Not all of them cook,” Carter retorted, nodding his head toward his wife.
“Hey!” Elly exclaimed, smacking him in the stomach. “I’m cooking your baby right now.”
The room filled with laughter as I paced over to the window and looked down at the sidewalk. I was nervous because I wasn’t sure whether or not Tessa would like living with me. I’d had the place cleaned twice this week in anticipation of her arrival.
“But Tessa loves cooking,” Elly continued, smiling up at me. “You can finally stop eating out every night.”
I scoffed, glancing over my shoulder at her. “I don’t eat out every night.”
Bayler laughed. “All you have in your fridge are takeout boxes and condiments.”
“And beer!” Carter said, clinking his bottle with Fletcher’s.
“Ladies,” Fletcher stated, shaking his head at the women. “Jameson has the necessities. Lay off him.”
“Tessa is going to freak when she sees the fridge,” Elly said, laughing along with Bayler.
I turned to face the gang as anxiety tumbled in my stomach. “What do you mean? Why would she freak out?”
“Because Tessa enjoys cooking,” Bayler explained.
“Yeah,” Elly said, nodding. “She’s used to having a stocked kitchen, especially since she’s cooked for her and her brother most of her life.”
Now I felt bad about not going grocery shopping. The truth was, I did order takeout often, only because it was easier than attempting to cook a meal. I’d grown up with either a maid cooking for me or my grandma, but no matter how many times Janice Jameson tried to teach me how to cook, the meal never turned out the way she made it.
“You guys can go grocery shopping later,” Cash said, running through the television channels. “That way she can pick out whatever the hell she wants.”
“Maybe she’ll even teach you how to cook,” Elly teased, nudging my arm.
“Yeah,” Bayler continued, pointing her beer bottle at me. “Every guy should know how to cook. Women love a home-cooked meal they don’t have to make themselves.”
“I’m not trying to find a woman,” I stated, furrowing my brows.
The gang laughed at my candid response, despite the fact that it was true. I’d practically given up on finding a good woman during my college years. The girls I seemed to attract back then only wanted my help passing a class. The only date I’d been on since was a few years ago when my grandma set me up with her neighbor, Elly. The chemistry wasn’t there, so we became friends instead, which was perfectly fine with me. She was still in love with Carter, and I’d been a loner most of my life. When Carter moved back to New York, he and Elly started dating, and I gained another friend. Our group of friends continued to grow after that with the addition of Carter’s sisters, Harper and Bayler, falling for two of our own, Maverick and Fletcher.
“I call bullshit, Justin,” Bayler exclaimed, rolling her eyes. She leaned into Fletcher’s side and rested her feet up on the coffee table.
The laughter quickly died down at her blunt retort.
“Excuse me?” I asked, deflecting my surprise.
“All men are predisposed to think with their penises,” she explained, entertaining everyone with her words. “I don’t care how much of a genius you are; you’re still a man, which means that brain of yours down south is focused on sex just like every other man’s.”
Laughter grew louder around me as I stared her down, the smile spreading wide across my face. We got a kick out of giving each other a hard time, and I enjoyed dishing it out just as much as everyone else. Leaning down next to her ear, I said, “No, Bayler, what I meant was, I don’t have to try to find a woman.”
She nearly spit out her beer as she smacked me on the arm and laughed. “See! Just like every other guy! I knew you had a dick in there somewhere, Jameson.”
“Is this the part where I tell you I know how to use it, too?” I asked sarcastically, laughing along with her.
A knock on the door sounded before she could reply, so I walked over to answer it. Opening the door, I found Tessa and a younger guy standing behind her, with three suitcases resting at their sides and a duffle bag slung across his body. She wore an old pair of ripped jeans and a hoodie. Her long brown hair was knotted on top of her head, but it was her light blue-gray eyes smiling back at me that caught my attention the most.
“Hey,” I said, grabbing one of the rollers. “Come on in.”
“Thanks,” she said, crossing the threshold into my apartment.
The Love in the City series is about a group of friends looking for love in New York City. Each book is about a different couple, so they can be read as standalones. The stories are told from both the female and male point of views, and they all end in happily ever afters, no cliffhangers here! Finally, all the book covers are different colors to represent a certain awareness or cause that is referenced in each book. Grab the first book in the series, Wanted By You, for FREE today!

SCARLETT

It was the kind of relationship where I invested more than I had to spare.

I gave it everything.
And so when it failed, I lost myself.
It changed me. He changed me.
I went down with the ship.
My soul, burnt embers in the aftermath.
The fire of him ravaged it all.
He burned me.
Broke me.
Scarlett had always dreamed big. She was headed straight for Hollywood. Destined for silver screen greatness.
But in her wildest dreams she never imagined she’d be broke and single at twenty-eight, doling drinks at thirty-five thousand feet.
She was a glorified waitress in the skies.
It had been years since she’d seen him.
But one day, there he sat, gazing intently at her, ready to set everything ablaze once more.

Dante wanted her. Again.
Sure, she’d play along…but this time, it was his turn.
She was breaking him.
After all, love is war.

His voice was so full of sweet nostalgia that I had to make light of it.
Had. To.
“If you cry while we fuck I’m putting it online,” I quipped.
He laughed and tried to turn my face toward his.
Going in for a kiss, I knew.
I hated his kisses.
Hated. Them.
Hated. Hated. Hated.
I wrenched my chin out of his hand and pressed my body back until my ass was flush to his crotch. He was hard as a rock, bulging through his slacks.
I rubbed against him, teasing him into action.
With a groan, he started kissing my neck again, both hands going to grip my breasts.
I circled my hips, working against him shamelessly. I knew what it did to him, knew he was a hair trigger the first time we made any contact after a long parting. I didn’t care. If I got him to embarrass himself before he’d even taken off his pants, all the better.
Humiliating him was a bonus, as far as I was concerned.
No such luck. He knew all my tricks.
He wrenched away suddenly, breaking contact. His hands went to my hips and he tried to turn me around.
“No,” I said firmly. “Like this. I want it just like this.”
The Bastard wasn’t having it. And he was much, much bigger than me, the fucker.
He picked me up like I weighed nothing and carried me straight to bed.
I let out an embarrassing little squeak as he tossed me on the mattress, then followed me down before I could scramble away.
Still fully clothed, he wedged himself between my naked thighs, pinning me.
Slowly, eyes watching me all the while, he cupped my face in both hands.
“I don’t think I have to tell you this. You already know it, but—I miss you. Even your bad attitude, I miss.” His voice was clear, vulnerable, and succinct.
Shut up, I wanted to snap at him. But it would reveal too much about what his words did to me.
“The feeling is not mutual, you fucking stalker,” I told him, voice fraudulently collected.
He just smiled and pressed his mouth to mine.
I turned my head away, gasping, “Don’t kiss me!”
He gripped my chin in his hard hand and turned my face back. His defiant gaze bored into mine as he melded our lips back together.
A feeling of raw, violent need quaked through me.
“Fuck you,” I snarled into his mouth.
“Yes. That, too,” he breathed back. “But first—kiss me, angel. Please.”
It was the please that did it. Dirty fighting bastard that he was, he knew how to use that word in the most devastating way—absolutely effective in its rarity.
With a moan, I gave in.
Kissing him ruined me. He knew it.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one out for blood here.
His lips were my own personal hell.
They were either his biggest lie, or his greatest betrayer. Every kiss he’d ever given me, when we were in love or in hate, told me how he cared. Told me how he longed. Craved. Pined. Mourned. Despaired. Told me he was as desperate for me as ever.
I hated him for it, and I couldn’t get enough, my hands driving into his hair, nails scoring against his scalp, tongue diving in to taste his liquor sweet breath, clashing with his as unwanted whimpers escaped my throat.
I let it go on for way too fucking long. I have no defense for myself there.
It was too good. Too sweet. Too bitter. Too pleasurable and too painful.
I lost myself so completely that at one point, I even let my hand pull at the chain around his neck, fingering the cursed object that it held, which was a complete slip-up. As soon as I realized I was doing it, I jerked my hand away.
Finally, it was my sex drive that put an end to that torture. I was throbbing from the inside out and addictive as it was, kissing him was not enough to physically satisfy me.
It was one of the few times in my life where I could say that my libido worked in my favor.
I started tearing at his shirt, wrenching at the front until buttons flew, shoving it off his shoulders, then pushing impatiently at his chest when it caught on his elbows.
He wouldn’t budge, still kissing me like I was the air he needed to breathe.
I’d almost forgotten. Dante always turned fucking into making love. Even when he was drunk. Even when it was rushed, hurried, hard, angry, or desperate. You name it, he turned it all into something more.
I didn’t want any of that.
I wasn’t here to make love.
I was here to make war.

Bon Appétit and a Book

These mini blender muffins are by far my favorite recipe for a sweet treat in the afternoon when sitting down with a good book. I imagine these yummy muffins could be served at Healthy Eats restaurant, featured in “Christmas Undercover.” These are truly the best muffins I’ve ever tasted! (The original recipe can be found on: http://www.averiecooks.com)

Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Mini Blender Muffins

INGREDIENTS:

1 medium ripe banana, peeled

1 large egg

Heaping 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch salt, optional and to taste

Heaping 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 400F. Prepare mini muffin pans by spraying with floured cooking spray, or grease and flour the pans; set aside.

To the canister of a blender, add first 7 ingredients, through optional salt, and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute.

Add chocolate chips and stir in by hand.

Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop that’s been sprayed with cooking spray (helps batter slide off spoon or scoop easily), form rounded 1 tablespoon mounds and place mounds into prepared pans. Each cavity should be filled to a solid 3/4 full.

Bake for 8 to 9 minutes, or until the tops are set, domed, springy to the touch, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, or with a few moist crumbs, but no batter.   Watch your muffins closely, and bake until done. Allow muffins to cool in pans for about 10 minutes, or until they’ve firmed up and are cool enough to handle. Muffins are best fresh, but will keep airtight at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 4 months.

The soft strumming of a guitar immediately assaulted my
senses, but that wasn’t what made the hair at the end of my arms stand at
attention. I closed my eyes needing to check my emotions and the thoughts that
attacked my mind at rapid speed.
One right after the other.
They were disastrous and unforgiving.
The strumming of the guitar was effortless and defined. I would
recognize it anywhere. No one could play like she could.
No one.
That voice…
It was smooth like silk but raw enough to give you chills.
That song…
Would be a permanent reminder of what I lost.
That night…
Would forever haunt me. My days and nights.
God… I couldn’t think of that night without my cock getting
hard and the shame engulfing me almost simultaneously. Metallica’s lyrics of
Nothing Else Matters took me back to another time, another place, where I
pretended that she was mine…
I was always hers.
Always.
Her face…
Her eyes…
Her body…
I remembered it all, and I hadn’t even looked up to see her.
I didn’t have to. She was engrained in my mind. In my heart. In my soul.
She sang the chorus over again with the emotions bleeding off
the strings of her guitar and her voice. The guitar solo followed making the
crowd scream and cheer for her talent. Her energy was fucking contagious, it
always had been. I felt it all around me even though I still hadn’t opened my
eyes to take her in. I knew she was biting her fucking lip, it didn’t matter
how many damn times I told her she was going to bite it off. I’d memorized the
feel of her lips against my mouth the way I’d take that same goddamn lip and
bite on it myself.
Wanting a piece of
her.
Needing a piece of
her.
Her voice dropped to a soft tone, as did her guitar. The
song ended and the crowd went even more wild and ravenous for her.
“Well, hello there fucking Nashville!”
They hollered higher and louder. She always knew how to work
a crowd.
“Welcome to Bootleggers! Who’s gettin’ fucked up tonight?”
“Yeah!” they shouted.
“Who’s gettin’ fucking laid tonight?”
They shouted again, whistling and clapping that time. I
shook my head with a smile I didn’t bother trying to hide.
“That’s what I’m talking about! Down and dirty in the
fuckin’ South!” she yelled in the same southern drawl she hated as a child.
“I’m going to take a little break—”
“Booooooo!”
She giggled and my cock twitched.
“I know, darlins’, I’m too fucking pretty to look at. I’ll
be back, I promise! In the meantime buy me a fuckin’ shot! My name’s Kid.”
I immediately looked up, right at her. I swear to God my
chest seized and she literally took my goddamn breath away. Wearing short daisy
dukes and a miniscule shirt that had “Whiskey Makes Me Frisky” written across
her breasts. The damn thing looked like it was as old as me. Her entire stomach
bare, her belly button now pierced and her long dark hair cascading down her
back, almost touching her ass. The tiny frame that I fucking loved was still
the same, but she looked grown up. Older. Her legs, her fucking legs. I
remembered them wrapped around me and I had to shake my head to erase the
images that had my cock hard and my heart heavy.

Amazon eBook ** Amazon Paperback

Excerpt:

She didn’t know the exact moment when the air between them changed from simply hot and playful to something darker. Something so fierce and powerful, it made all of her nerve endings stand at full attention.

Jehan wanted her.

She’d have to be an idiot not to realize that.

She wanted him too.

And she was too smart to think for one second that he hadn’t picked up on her staggering awareness of him as a man. As a dangerously seductive Breed male who could have her carotid caught in his teeth just as swiftly as he could have her legs parted beneath the driving pound of his muscular body.

Sera swallowed hard, her breath and heart racing as she slowed to a stop before him.

She glanced down, to where she was tethered to his strong hands by the unraveled length of red silk.

Although she was covered where it counted, there wasn’t much of her dress left. Most of it lay on the floor at her feet; yards of scarlet pooled in the scant space between her body and Jehan’s.

She licked her lips as she struggled for words. She should tell him to go, but everything female in her yearned for him to stay. She was no trembling virgin, no stranger to sex. But never with a Breed male. And the electricity that crackled to life between Jehan and her was something she’d never felt before.

It was arresting.

Consuming.

Terrifying in its intensity.

Yet it wasn’t fear of him she felt when she held his piercing light blue eyes. It was fear of herself and of the way he made her feel. Fear of the things he made her want.

“Jehan, I…” She shook her head, unsure what she meant to say to him.

Leave?

Stay?

Forget the fact that neither one of them had come to this place willingly, nor intended to walk away from the archaic tradition with a blood-bonded mate?

But that’s not what this moment was about.

What she saw in Jehan’s amber-swamped gaze right now didn’t have anything to do with their romantic surroundings or the expectation and hopes of their families. The things she was feeling had nothing to do with any of that either.

It was desire, pure and simple.

Immediate and intense.

Her body throbbed with it, longing pounding furiously in her breast and stirring a molten heat in the center of her. She drew a shallow breath—then held it tight as Jehan reached out to caress her cheek. His warm fingers felt hard and strong against her face, but he stroked her with such tenderness, she couldn’t hold back the soft moan that spilled past her lips.

EXCERPT

The soft ding of the elevator stopping on this otherwise quiet floor catches my attention. I practically leap out of my seat, not wanting to be in a position to be talked down to if it is Alexander.

It’s only seven. Most of the employees don’t start rolling in for at least another forty-five minutes, but I know that Alexander is always the first one at the office every morning.

I hold my breath as I hear heavy footsteps head in my direction.

Our gazes meet as soon as he rounds the corner and turns into my office. He’s always so put together, and today is no different as he waltzes toward my desk in his perfectly pressed black suit. I stare into Alexander’s gray eyes, ready to begin our verbal sparring match, but I never get the chance to say a word. He turns without so much as a word to me and storms into his adjoining office, slamming the door shut behind him in the process.

My mouth drops open. So much for my thought-out plan of attack.

I plop down in my chair and do my best to pretend the man, who is now my husband, isn’t on the other side of that door, avoiding me at all costs.

Asshole.

I flip off the door but refuse to go chasing after him to demand answers. If he wants to play ‘let’s pretend last weekend never happened,’ then so be it.

Game on.

EXCERPT

I motioned around the patio. “Is this what you do? You save women from the resort leaches and lure them to your lair?”
“My lair? Am I Batman?”
“Are you? I don’t know.”
He smirked. “If only I could make a living at doing just that, but alas, no. You’re my first rescue.”
I stopped my reach for a piece of cheese and looked back up at him. “You’re first?”
“My first rescue,” he clarified. “Hardly my first.”
“Why?”
He lifted his glass toward me in a toast. After I lifted mine, he said, “To you, Charli with an I, and to learning more about you.”
After our glasses clinked and we both took a sip, I asked the question that I’d been dying to know ever since our morning encounter. “You seem to have a clear advantage. You know my name, but I’ve yet to learn yours.”
“Do I?”
“Do you what?”
“Do I have an advantage?” He leaned closer. “Do I know your name? You see, I had the resort’s reservations scoured. I wanted to send a gift to your room and confirm our dinner, yet Charli was nowhere to be found.”
I took a deep breath. “Well, I’m here with my sister. I guess my name isn’t on the reservation.”
“You’re sister?”
“Yes, and you—if I were to have the reservations scoured?”
The sun had now fully set, falling below the water and the darkening sky was beginning to fill with stars, especially over the water.
“Would you believe, Batman?” When I didn’t respond, he said, “Bruce Wayne?”
Though I pursed my lips, I felt the twinkle in my eyes.
