Release Day Blitz & Review…Bend The Pucking Rules by Rachel Leigh

Bend The Pucking Rules by Rachel Leigh is now live!

Bend The Pucking Rules is the second book in the sexy and suspenseful Ice Lords Series. An Enemies to Lovers, Why-Choose, College Hockey Romance.

I know too much and now, I’m paying the price.

One secret shattered my world.

Three boys wrecked my life.

And one of them just might own my heart—if only he could remember.

As Callan fights to piece together the memories we shared and the time we lost, I’m caught in the crossfire of rival teams, bitter betrayals, and players who would love nothing more than to watch me fall.

Someone is out there.

Whispering. Watching. Waiting.

And if I want to survive, I’ll have to trust the very people who broke me.

Aidric. Sebastian.

Maybe even Callan

Sebastian says he hates me.

But hate doesn’t burn this hot.

I see it in his eyes. I feel it every time he looks at me.

I’m just not sure if his fire is meant to save me, or burn me.

When Callan finally remembers, will it be enough to put us back together?

Or will the bond I’m building with his best friend tear us all apart?

They say you can’t have the best of both worlds.

But I’m beginning to realize, the three of us were never meant to live by the rules.

Rachel, Rachel, Rachel – you are torturing us readers in the best possible way. LOL

Bend the Pucking Rules starts exactly where book 1 left off (gut wrenching cliffy) but we are thrown a loop with Callan. Aidric is his typical alpha-self and tries to remind everyone of their place, all the while making sure nothing happens to them.

This book focuses more on Avery and Sebastian as she leans on him more while Callan is healing. We see a different side to Sebastian but he’s still who he is at his core and that’s what makes him even more intriguing as the story moves along.

Rachel does a phenomenal job with the twists and turns and keep readers on their toes the entire time. Just when you think you know something, she proves us wrong and throws another puzzle piece into the air. And I love how the romance plays right into the suspense of everything, just giving the book a whole new level of intrigue.

A fantastic book two and after that epilogue – I am dying for book three!

Release Day Blitz & Review…Ruining Hattie by P. Rayne

Ruining Hattie by P. Rayne is now live!

A man with no limits is the most dangerous kind of threat.

When Trent Clarke caught me picking pockets at eleven, he didn’t turn me in. Instead, he took me under his wing and taught me that in this world, you take what you want and never look back.

He might have shaped me, but I built my empire of the most successful string of strip clubs on the West Coast.

Now that I have everything, it’s time to track down my deadbeat mother and remind her who she left behind. That is if the drugs didn’t kill her already.

But I don’t find the worn-down shell of the woman I remember. Instead, she has all the things she never managed to give me—the white picket fence, a family dog, even church on Sunday mornings.

The real kicker? She replaced me and raised the perfect daughter with all the care and love she never gave me.

A twisted need for revenge roars to life inside me, and I aim it at my mother’s precious stepdaughter—sweet, sheltered Hattie Sinclair.

At first, it’s purely about vengeance, pulling Hattie into the darkness to watch her innocence unravel piece by piece. But she becomes something more. Something dangerous. Something I can’t resist.

Until she becomes my obsession.

I love this darker side of Piper Rayne.

How can two completely opposite people create an amazing story (and I’m not talking about the authors) – Ruining Hattie is how.

Bastian has nothing to lose. Hattie is a church-going girl who has never stepped on the wrong side.

These two authors know how to create characters with many layers, allow them to grow and yet not lose who they are at the core.

The journey for Bastian and Hattie was perfection – the plot flowed beautifully and the romance blossomed at the right time. Phenomenal writing.

This duo once again blew me away.

If this happens to be the last book in this series, Kristy ended it perfectly.

Sweet Distraction is Rocket’s story. Without giving too much away, Rocket grows so much in this story. He is why I love this story so much. Willow is the perfect soulmate for Rocket.

I love this band of brothers and how they are so supportive of another.

Kristy wrote this one brilliantly. I want to say so much but I don’t want to ruin any reader’s experience by saying the wrong thing. This book will pull at our heartstrings in so many ways.

Sweet Distraction may be a rockstar romance but it’s on the sweeter side of romance and just shows another side to a rockstar.

A highly recommended read.

SWEET THING by Kate Meader

Release Date: July 15

Blurb:

My dad’s teammate needs a nanny and I need a job. Sounds perfect, right? Except for my massive crush on him … the one he knows all about.

Lars

I just found out I’m a dad.

My one-night stand dropped a baby bombshell in my local bar where I was celebrating my team’s win. Then she fled, leaving me holding my new daughter.

Thank God for Adeline. The daughter of my teammate and closest friend on the Chicago Rebels, she practically raised her little sister and knows exactly how to deal with this situation. I need a nanny; she needs a job. Problem sorted, right?

Not so fast …

Adeline

I think you’re the sexiest guy alive.

That’s what Lars Nyquist overheard me say while recounting my embarrassing crush on him. Yeah, that Lars Nyquist. Defenseman for the Chicago Rebels. Owner of the thickest thighs in the league. More than a decade my senior. Oh, and my dad’s teammate.

My only option? Leave the country, of course. Luckily, I’d already planned a round-the-world trip with my bestie and by the time I returned to Chicago a year later, I expected my blunder would be long forgotten. Shows what I know. Now I’m lying awake in the bedroom next to his while playing nanny to his surprise little girl. But I can ignore this stupid infatuation. I have to. Even though the sight of Lars learning to be a dad leaves me breathless and takes that crush to a whole other level.

One that has the potential to break my sorry little heart …

Sweet Thing is the first book in the brand new Chicago Players hockey series from Kate Meader, the USA Today bestselling author of the Chicago Rebels and Rookie Rebels series.

Sweet Thing is a great start to this series. It’s a sports romance with the single dad, nappy, age gap tropes and written very well.

I really enjoyed the small-town vibes this gave off with the found family (looking forward to reading about more of them). I love that Lars and Adeline’s relationship blended into this found family so well.

I really liked that we got to know Lar’s background as it helped readers understand him more. Madeline comes from a very a family that has well accomplished and feels a bit overshadowed – Kate wrote this character beautifully and her growth shows how she comes into her own. Lars, Adeline and Mabel become this unique family unit that I absolutely adore.

I will say that there alot of side characters and felt a bit confused as to who is important to this series and who was from a previous series. This is my only drawback with this book but I just sort of breezed over these parts.

The story moved at a perfect pace. Kate delivers a great blend of romance, humor and sports into this story. The chemistry between Lars and Adeline just builds as the story moves along and I really liked that.

Overall, a great read and I am looking forward to more in this series.

Release Day Blitz & Review…Unbroken by Jane Henry

Unbroken by Jane Henry is now live!

A dark single dad, forbidden, mafia romance from USA Today Bestselling author Jane Henry

Vadka Dragunov—Bratva executioner, cold-blooded strategist… and my dead sister’s husband.

The man who built his empire in blood and protected it with silence. The man with a stare that holds me hostage—and a voice that cuts straight through me. I’ve avoided him, and the way he makes me feel, as I’ve wallowed in my own grief following my sister’s death.

But now there’s no escape. I’m living in his world. I’ve been targeted. The Irish want war. And the only safe place left is under his watch… or under him.

He’s a single father now—haunted, vengeful, and dangerous. A man who reads bedtime stories with the same blood thirsty eyes that promise death and retribution. The man who would raze the world to keep his son safe.

He thinks I’m reckless, chaotic, unpredictable. I was only a child when we first met. But he doesn’t see me as one anymore.

I see what he hides beneath all that control—the obsession simmering just below the surface. The way he watches me like he wants to equally destroy and devour me.

And now the same loss that tore us apart is now pulling us together.

I wasn’t supposed to end up in his bed.

But the Bratva is splintering. The Irish want blood.
And I’m spiraling – holding a secret that could end it all while falling for the man I can’t have.

Is there a future for Vadka and me, or will the secrets between us cause another tragedy?

Goodreads: https://bit.ly/3YKxTsX

Unbroken is definitely the most emotional book in this series so far.

If you read the previous book, we were left on a cliffy with Vadka losing Mariah, Ruthie’s sister.

Vadka, now a single dad, and Ruthie are now trying to navigate a world without Mariah. On top of dealing with grief, working through very emotional feelings these two share alot with one another and grow closer. And then the Irish attack.

I like that readers can empathize with Vadka and Ruthie as they navigate their loss and you see things start to come to reality for them in how they feel towards one another. I will say that Ruthie’s was easier to accept than Vadka’s but you could see he was not replacing Mariah with her sister.

Jane does a great job of blending the suspense of the Bratva and the relationship growth in this. I love how the plot of this book just helps move the romance part of this story along and yet doesn’t get lost either. This family is not one to mess with and you can visualize that with every book.

And that ending – oh I have quite a few thoughts on what we get next but I will not spoil anything.

Oh yes, give me some more Beck and Jolie!!

The Wildest One is the second book in the Weston Group series but can easily be read as a standalone. I did not read the first one and had I had not seen it was part of a series, I would have never known.

Beck Weston is a man in his own league – holy smokes. Not only is he a professional hockey player, his family is well known in the food industry. He’s cocky in the right ways and knows how to make the right woman feel like a queen.

Jolie is going to college to learn the ins and outs of what he father does and looking to one day take care for her father. She’s very smart, confident yet does have some weaknesses she does not show many people.

When these two meet, the chemistry is fire and neither can deny it. Their connection is great but they both have busy lives, leading them in different directions. I truly enjoyed how Marni let this play out; it was real and honest and so relatable. The timeline was authentic, which made it all the more real.

Beck and Jolie are perfect for another. Their playfulness, respect for one another and their lives/goals, and that undeniable chemistry that was incredibly naughty and spicy – loved it!

This was a fantastic read and I am definitely going back and reading the first book but also looking forward to the next one.

Synopsis

It was a stupid bet—that I could find a date, a real date, to my sister’s wedding. Or I was at the mercy of my brothers’ whim.

No problem. I got this.

Except…I don’t.

Until I meet Sawyer Brown. The moment she pulls up to my roadside fruit stand looking for directions, I’m all in.

Then she tells me to go to hell.

Which is just peachy since she just so happens to be the expert the state sent to help my company this summer.

To say that we don’t exactly hit it off is an understatement. As it turns out, I happen to have something Sawyer desperately needs, and I’m not above using that to leverage her into being my girl—even if it is just for show.

Well that is definitely quite the enticing and dramatic start to a series.

This book is definitely a wild ride riddled with suspense, drama, lots of schmexy times and even some mystery with the characters.

Jodi keeps readers on the edge with every twist and turn that these characters find themselves in.

I do love the side characters in this, even if at times I feel like they might steal the show. But I love how the balance out the drama with some great humor and entertaining banter.

And that ending – can’t say I did not see it coming, but I am excited to see where this goes and how things play out for Jude and Amelia

That Crush is the 9th book in the That Boy series, but can easily be read as a standalone. In all honesty, Jillian could’ve done this as spin-off series and released it that way.

That Crush is an age-gap, he falls first romance. If you have ever read anything by Jillian before, you know she always deliver a phenomenal romance story and this is no different.

This entire book takes place over the span of a week, but it also doesn’t feel that way. This is the second book recently where the actual time frame is short, but the story itself makes you forget that. What I was not expecting though – that ending.

I now not-so-patiently wait for the next book (or two) for Ainsley and Damon’s story to continue.
