I love when I sit down to write reviews, sometimes I have all the words itching to be typed out onto my keyboard and other times, I just sit here, staying at my screen figuring out how to start the damn review. And that can either be a good thing or bad thing. In this case, it’s good.

I Bet You is a college sports romance – second in a series but can be read out of order. I hadn’t realized this was in a series til I added it to my goodreads shelf and saw that there was another book before this. Ilsa does a great job of keeping this story a true inter-connected standalone.

I am not going to surmise the book – the blurb does that for you. I enjoyed this book for its simplicity and practicality of the plot. There isn’t a lot of over the top, unnecessary drama or any of the nasty cattiness between the women either. Ilsa stays focused on the main plot and focuses on the budding of Penelope and Ryker’s friendship.

Ilsa stays true to her characters are and never has them acting out of character or changing their ways to be more what the other person wants. The flow of the story is perfect and the added witty commentary is a perfect blend to the story.

I really enjoyed the story and characters. There wasn’t anything that makes this book stand out from others, but I found myself really enjoying the normalcy vibe it gave off and how easily relatable and real the story felt. I will definitely be checking out the first book in this series as I am intrigued to how Maverick’s story came to be.

I Bet You is a charming, sexy, funny and downright swoony romance set amongst all of the delicious fun of college football in the South. It’s damn good.” Mary at USA Today HEA⁣

“You find me someone better that writes football players… I’ll be waiting because you’ll never find better than Ilsa.” We Like Them Dark, Goodreads⁣

I Bet You is enemies-to-lovers GOLD. I devoured this funny, feel-good perfection in ONE DAY!” Dylan Allen, Bestselling Author⁣

Goodbye, Kate by Nicola Haken…Release Blitz & Review

Title: Goodbye, Kate
Author: Nicola Haken
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: October 29, 2018
Cover Design: Sommer Stein at Perfect Pear Creative Covers

Goodbye, Kate is a thrilling, unpredictable ride ~ Heather, White Hot Reads

Deception, action, drama, angst, and love ~ Stephanie, Goodreads Reviewer

Truly phenomenal read! ~ Michelle, One Click Aholics

Crime families and mob wars only exist in the movies. Betrayal. Violence. Murder. They don’t happen to ordinary people.

Right?

Wrong.

For Lincoln Hollis, this is his world, and there isn’t a clapperboard in sight. A trained killer and advocate of justice, he’s been sent to unravel the neat little bow tied around Kate Fletcher’s perfect life, exposing her to the brutal truths she’s been so meticulously shielded from, before delivering the ultimate punishment for her family’s sins.

There’s just one problem. They’re his family’s sins, too, and he must make a choice.

Who will he say goodbye to first?

I have read previous books by Nicola before but not in the romantic suspense genre. I was a bit hesitant as to how this would play out as I have high expectations for romantic suspense (I.e. Aleatha Romig, Keri Lake). Nicola definitely surprised me with this one with the potential to become even better.

Goodbye, Kate is a rollercoaster ride of action and drama. There is a lot going on in this story, so you have to pay close attention to what you are reading. Nicola starts this book off running and truly doesn’t let up in anyway. For some, this will be a problem as it may be too much going on and become cumbersome and for others it will just help drive that suspense and action.

Nicola drops a lot of twists and turns in this book, keeping readers on their toes the entire time. While I was able to figure out some, I enjoyed how the plot twists came to fruition and played out. Nicola holds nothing back in her scenes and doesn’t play down the environment that this is set in – she gives you the action and crime you suspect to happen.

As for the characters, while I personally couldn’t connect to either, Nicola did an amazing job of making them authentic in their actions and characteristics. I love that she had Lincoln questioning himself at times when he acted out of character and I really loved that she did not make Kate out to be some damsel in distress.

Overall, I have to say that this was an enjoyable read. While I do have high expectations in this genre, Nicola definitely tackled this genre well and I can see a lot of potential for growth from her and really making her mark in romantic suspense.

Nicola lives in Rochdale, England with her husband and four children. She is the author of multi-genre romance, including the Amazon international bestseller, Broken. When she is not busy playing with her imaginary friends (or talking about them with real life friends) she can usually be found carrying out her ordinary mum/housewife/all-round-slave duties, bingeing on boxsets, drinking too much Pepsi Max, or fussing over her menagerie of pets. Oh, and if the kids ever ask, she moonlights as the Pink Power Ranger while they’re sleeping…

Ballistic by Keri Lake…Release Day Blitz & Review

Title: Ballistic
Series: A Vigilantes Novel
Author: Keri Lake
Genre: Romantic Suspense, NA
Release Date: October 30, 2018
ON SALE for 2 days ONLY!!

On the streets of Detroit, it’s the code we live by. You take from me, I take from you. A balance of power, and a ceaseless war between rivals.

As a foster kid from the projects, I never had much, besides an unshakable addiction to women and drugs. Only took one glance into the amber eyes of a slave for me to realize my two worst vices could be one and the same.

And the woman behind those eyes quickly became my obsession.
Nicoleta is more than she seems. An enigma I’m determined to crack before time runs out and our enemies hunt her down. Except, she moves by her own trajectory, an unstoppable bullet on the warpath to track down the men who murdered a girl from her past.

Me? I’m the rogue whose path is less predictable. A junkie, fiending for the one thing I shouldn’t want: the only woman who gets me high. I want to keep her for myself, but when the unstoppable bullet finally hits her mark and secrets begin to unravel, another life must be paid.

A heart for a heart.

Can my review just be – THIS BOOK IS SO AWESOME!! And leave it at that??

Keri Lake easily became a go-to author for me years ago when I read her Sons of Wrath series. She has become my rule of thumb when it comes to grizzly, raw and dark romances. She sets the mark for the perfect blend and balance of suspense, thriller and romance all tide into one brilliant story.

Ballistic is the third book in her Vigilante series, but they can all be read as standalones. However, I highly recommend reading them in order to understand the true storyline behind the whole series.

Dax has been a character I have been long waiting for and Keri did not let us down. However, what differs from this book compared to the others is that the focus is more on the heroine than the hero. Nicoleta has been on Dax’s radar ever since he was unable to save her from being purchased from his target, Tesarik.

I refuse to give any details on this book. This story is dark and twisted. Nicoleta has lived through hell and back; she may appear weak to most, but she is a woman scorned and out for vengeance. She’s not one to be messed with and Dax learns that right from the beginning.

Dax and Nicoleta are the perfect balance for one another but they both have their own agendas. Keri holds nothing back as these two try to work together (sometimes against) – Nicoleta may have been the one seeking out revenge, but Dax was right beside her doing what he can to deliver his own type of vengeance. She may use him to her whim, but it’s not without his own rules added in. But how far is one willing to go to exact vengeance? And at what cost?

“Something was going to happen to me. Captured, killed, or both. If it didn’t, it’d mean I’d failed, and I had no intentions of failing.”

Keri delivers another raw, gritty and suspenseful story that drives us deep into the underbelly of the crime world – where there is no true justice, just vengeance. This is a series that you must read, especially if you love a real and truly gritty suspenseful story.

Keri Lake is a dark romance writer who specializes in demon wrangling, vengeance dealing and wicked twists. Her stories are gritty, with antiheroes that walk the line of good and bad, and feisty heroines who bring them to their knees. When not penning books, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters, and their rebellious Labrador (who doesn’t retrieve a damn thing). She runs on strong coffee and alternative music, loves a good red wine, and has a slight addiction to dark chocolate.

Dangerous Exes by Rachel Van Dyken…Release Blitz & Review

DangerousExes-SBPRBANNER-RB.jpeg

“I was going to destroy her the same way she destroyed me, from the inside out.”

Dangerous Exes, an all-new contemporary romance in the scorching series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken, is coming October 30th

DanergousExes.jpg

Isla made one teeny little mistake. Now she and her PI company, Dirty Exes, are being targeted by one seriously angry and furiously sexy ex-quarterback. Jessie freakin’ Beckett. But there’s no way some NFL superhunk is going to take her business away. If only he didn’t make her so hot—and bothered.

Jessie wants payback for a ruined reputation. His plan? Top secret. His hard-to-hide arousal for Isla? Not so much. Especially when they let down their guards and sneak a kiss. Like any juicy scandal, it goes so viral, so fast, that only a good lie can combat the bad press. Mortal enemies in a fling? No way. Um…this is love!

Actually…could it be?

Isla’s not faking it. Jessie can’t. As the game of let’s pretend gets real, Jessie forgets all about revenge. That’s the problem. His plan is already out of his control. Now it could undo everything they’ve been trying to build. Coming clean may be the only thing that can save it.

I really enjoyed Dirty Exes, so it was no brainer for me to read Dangerous Exes. You have to Dirty Exes in order to understand how Dangerous Exes comes about and plays out.

We already met both Isla and Jessie in Dirty Exes, so we know what to expect of them. I loved Isla from the get-go in Dirty Exes, and she was all the more hilarious in this book. Blaire’s ex-boyrfriend, Jessis is hell-bent on seeking revenge against Liars, Inc for ruining his reputation.

I won’t go into specifics as to what happens, but I will tell you that lines get blurred and what was suppose to be fake, ends up being more. Jessie and Isla are quite the pair, both working together and trying to avoid the building chemistry between one another.

Rachel wrote a very entertaining story with Isla and Jessie. It is full of laughs, tension and some really hot scenes. We also get to read about Blaire and Colin from the first book. Oh and I can’t forget to mention Goo-Poh – Isla’s aunt – now that woman is a hoot!!

If you haven’t already, buy this book (plus Dirty Exes) and binge read them both – you’re in for on hell of a treat.

Fall by Kristen Callihan…Blog Tour & Review

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.

In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.

Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.

Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.

An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.

Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.

Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.

All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

AMAZON | APPLE BOOKS | B&N

The air between us shifts. I’m filled with a strange giddiness, wanting to laugh for the fun of it, but I’m also too warm, my limbs oddly heavy as if simple movements might be too much for me.

His tone turns soft and cajoling, teasing the truth out of me. “Are you going to tell me what you do?” When I say nothing, the corners of his eyes crinkle. “I see. You’re going to torture me a bit.”

The warm, fuzzy feeling grows as I shrug. “Torture feels apropos in this scenario.”

He hums again, taking another step toward me. “What makes you think I won’t like being tortured by you?”

The heat of his body and the scent of his skin makes my head light and my pulse pound. How did it get to this point where the highlight of my day is flirting with Jax Blackwood? Despite the thrill, I know I’m in over my head. I haven’t gone out on a date in months because I form attachments, I get emotional, and then I hurt when they inevitably leave. And this man will leave. He is as bright and fleeting as a camera flash. I’ll be left with the image of him seared into my memory and nothing more.

I tell myself all of this, the voice in my head as stern as possible. But it doesn’t make me back away. It doesn’t stop my body from somehow straining toward his without even moving. Because it might be stupid of me, but I want to feel something that isn’t planned. Something, for however briefly, that’s real.

He’s too attuned to me not to notice. John’s lids lower as his attention slides down my body before easing back up to my face. Slowly, he rests his forearm on the wall beside my head. “Tell me, Stella,” he murmurs.

“No,” I whisper back, flirting, even though I shouldn’t.

His biceps bunch as he leans in, a smile dancing on his lips. “Tell.”

My breasts graze his chest, and I feel it in my toes.

“You’re crowding me.” I hate how breathy I sound.

“Can’t help it.” His voice is a rumble, the heat of his breath playing over my skin. He ducks his head, drawing close until our lips nearly brush, and when he speaks again, his tone is almost conversational, except for the husky quality that touches deep within my core. “You smell like strawberries. Fucking delicious.”

My lids flutter, and I swallow hard. “Ordinarily, I’d call you out on that cliché but since I’ve been eating strawberries, you aren’t exactly wrong.”

His chuckle is slow and easy, as he eases back and his gaze slowly travels over my face. “Were they sweet, Stella Button?”

He’s looking at my mouth like he might try to find out. My lips tremble in response, and John tracks the movement, his breathing getting deeper, faster. “You have two freckles on your lips. One on the top lip and one on the bottom corner.”

Those damn freckles. They were the bane of my adolescence. I hid them with lipstick and silently cursed whenever someone mentioned them.

Freckles don’t have any feelings, but I swear it’s as if he’s touching them.

“You’re just noticing this?” I try to make it sound like a joke, but it comes out weak and thready.

His own lips quirk. “Oh, I noticed. It’s distracting as hell. They’re like two little dots of butter toffee. Makes me want to lick them, get a taste.”

Oh, God. Lick them, please. I can almost feel it. I want to feel it.

No. Bad Stella. Behave.

John’s lips part a fraction like he just might take that taste.

“Back off,” I whisper. And yet somehow my traitorous hands find their way to his sides, running over the waistband of his jeans, holding him there.

John makes a sound deep in his throat and tilts his hips, pressing them against mine. A distinctly thick bulge nudges my belly. Both of us lose a breath, and then he’s closer, his cheek touching my temple. “You’ll have to let me go first.”

My thumbs slide under the edge of his shirt and find smooth, taut skin. A tremor goes through his body. I try to think, search for what the hell we’ve been talking about.

His lips brush the crest of my cheek as he murmurs against my skin. “Tell me what you do, Stella. You know you want to.”

My smile feels illicit. Somehow the action is directly tied to all my happy parts, making them draw hot and tight. “I don’t think I do.”

Another hum. “Liar. You’re dying to.”

Now this is a true slow-burn, frienemies to lovers romance. I loved every bit of this story.

This book is so “wow” for me. It’s not just the slow burn, but it’s the normalcy within this story that takes place.

If you have read any of the previous books in this series, you’ll remember that Jax has some issues and doesn’t handle things in the best way (fyi – you don’t need to read any before to understand this story, but it does help to go in order to understand the overall flow of the series). The band is on a break and Jax finds himself stuck in New York in one his houses due to snowstorm blowing in.

Stella and Jax have a brief exchange of words and a kiss when at the grocery store, but nothing more comes of it. It’s when they start seeing each other around more and more and also become neighbors. I love how this story just builds and builds and builds. And it’s one of the best romance build ups I have ever read – it’s not too slow to where you feel like it’s dragging – it’s the perfect pace and so normal and that’s what I love about it.

Neither Jax or Stella have lived any sort of normal life. Jax is a rockstar and Stells has practically lived on her own since her mom died. She has learned to depend on no one but herself and cannot trust anyone more than surface level. Jax has his own demons to fight and knows that no one but himself can fix it.

I feel like I have said way too much already but it’s the raw and realness of this story that makes it stand out to me. These two both have severe trust issues but they are willing to try for each other. And I love that. I love that neither gives in to the other and doesn’t let the other off the hook for shitty stuff. It’s truly real and honest – a normal relationship problems and how people handle them.

I hadn’t expected this story to hit me so hard or make me feel as much as it did. I love every aspect of this story and these characters. I wouldn’t change a damn thing in this book.

I love the message behind the romance – mental health. It’s an ugly disease that affects every individual differently and we all cope differently. I love how Callihan handles this and works it through the story. I think that’s what makes this story all the more real.

I apologize if my review is all over the place. I tried not to give much away but also wanted to explain why this book just really wow’d me and smacked me so hard in the feels.

Bravo, Kristen – you wrote another amazing story.

Reveling In Sin by Meghan March…Release Day Blitz & Review

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.

No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

iBooks | Amazon US | Amazon UK | Amazon AU | Kobo | BN

Reveling in Sin is the final installment in Meghan’s Sin Trilogy and she definitely goes out with a band on this one.

Whitney and Lincoln have gone through hell and back to get where they are today. And they now refuse to let nothing stop them. All the heartache, pain, lies and family feuding isn’t enough to stop the chemistry, adoration and deep love these two have for one another.

The book starts off on the one day that set Whitney’s life for the past 10 years, a day we had never been privy to til now. And then we are thrown back to the present and it all makes sense now – well some of it.

Throughout this whole book, truths are finally revealed, shocking “holy shit” moments are laid out in blunt ways and well, everything and anything that could happen – happens. There is a lot of drama, suspense and angst piled into this one book. I hate to say, some of it was a bit too over the top and too much for me – may peppered some of those truth bombs in previous books because to ease up on the dramatics in this one.

Meghan definitely delivered a very exciting and thrilling ending to this trilogy. Even though some moments were too over the top, I still enjoyed the hell out of this story and it kept me glued to the pages.

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.

Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.

I didn’t know or care what her name was.

Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.

She hates me, and she should.

I objected on her wedding day.

Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.

They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.

I’ll never be done with her.

Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

Rebecca and Amy really know how to write an entertaining story together.

Elle and Kas meet when she accidentally runs him over. I loved how this whole part played out and how Kas and Elle bantered back and forth. While the situation itself was not funny, they made the most of it and definitely made it less stressful.

I really enjoyed watching this story unfold. Kas is quite the determined man when he wants something but Elle has sworn off men in Hollywood; she’s been burned badly before and is not falling for that again.

While I enjoyed watching Kas and Elle banter back and forth and move forward in their lives and their friendship/relationship due to the short nature of the book, it is hard to see the character growth and the deep connection between them.

Overall, I did really enjoy the story and both characters were likeable and real. The story was light, funny and fast paced; perfect for a quick read.

We have a $25 GC up for grabs, so you can get a ton of books 😉

Frequency by Christopher Krovatin…Blog Tour & Review

Frequency
by Christopher Krovatin
Genre: YA Contemporary Fiction
Release Date: October 2nd 2018
Entangled Teen

Summary:

Five years ago, Fiona was just a kid. But everything changed the night the Pit Viper came to town. Sure, he rid the quiet, idyllic suburb of Hamm of its darkest problems. But Fiona witnessed something much, much worse from Hamm’s adults when they drove him away.

And now, the Pit Viper is back.

Fiona’s not just a kid anymore. She can handle the darkness she sees in the Pit Viper, a DJ whose wicked tattoos, quiet anger, and hypnotic music seem to speak to every teen in town…except her. She can handle watching as each of her friends seems to be overcome, nearly possessed by the music. She can even handle her unnerving suspicion that the DJ is hell-bent on revenge.

But she’s not sure she can handle falling in love with him.

The Pit Viper had waved a hand in their faces. “You don’t need to know, and you don’t want to know. Saturday night, you keep your kids at home, and Sunday morning, your ‘problem’ will be solved. Then, one week from Sunday, I come back and you give me one hundred large, cash. Got it?”
Fiona had tried to read the council’s faces through the crack in the door. Most of them had looked suspicious, but many of them had seemed resigned. Even she had been reassured by the tone of his voice. He’d obviously meant business.
“And what if it…what if whatever you’re planning doesn’t work?” Aunt Emily had said in a soft, shaking voice. “What if our town is stuck with these…people?”
The DJ had turned to her, paused, said, “You’re the dead boy’s mom, aren’t you?”
The council had cried out as one. Fiona herself had felt a sting of rage, knowing the dead boy was her cousin. “Hey,” her dad had said, taking a step forward.
The DJ had raised his palm to Robert Jones. Fiona had expected her dad to barrel through it, but he’d stopped, looking as confused by his compliance as Fiona had felt.
“I am terribly sorry for your loss,” the Pit Viper had said calmly.

I decided to read this book completely based on it’s cover – I love unique covers and the blurb just added to it’s uniqueness. And well, I was definitely not let down in any way of creativity and distinct story telling.

Frequency is a new take on the Pied Piper legend. And I do mean take and no retelling because there is a difference; Frequency takes the idea of the Pied Piper and Christopher turns into a whole new enlightening story.

This one blurb that gives you just enough to be intrigued, but gives none of it’s best parts away. I was thrown off guard by the amount of suspense and fascination that surrounded this story – I had not expected to be so drawn into and held captive the entire time.

Christopher does a great job of building up the suspense, the world of music that this story is based around and keeping you right at the edge of your seat. I truly enjoyed every bit of this book.

I know that I am being extremely vague in my review but I truly believe because I had no idea of what to expect, it made this book that much more enjoyable.

Frequency is one book I highly recommend to anyone (Yes it is YA but it’s definitely geared to older teens with the drug use and certain situations). And it’s the perfect read for this time of year.

EXCERPT:

Marley’s boots clapped to a halt on the linoleum at the same time her heartbeat cranked way, way up in her chest. She blamed the former on the way the deputy—who had nervously picked her up from The Corner Market—had stopped short beside her, as well as the sight of her oldest brother Owen’s best friend standing a few feet away, his face locked in disbelief. The latter was entirely the fault of the man planted next to Lane, though. Between his tanned skin, the tall, muscular frame that nearly gave Lane’s a run for its money, and the inky black tattoo curling from beneath the sleeve of his T-shirt all the way to his left elbow, Marley really couldn’t help the visceral reaction.

Even if the guy was leveling her with a dark and stormy gaze that said he didn’t like what he was looking at in return.

“What the hell is going on here?” Lane’s voice crash-landed in Marley’s thoughts just in time to chase the flush from her face. What did she care what this scowling stranger thought of her, anyway? She had bigger problems at the moment, thanks.

Case in point. “I, uh,” Deputy Collingsworth stammered, turning roughly the color of summer strawberries as he cleared his throat. “I made an arrest.”

“I can see that,” Lane replied tightly. “What I meant was, would you care to elaborate on exactly why it is that you’ve arrested my best friend’s little sister?”

Marley’s gut fluttered, but she refused to let the sensation get anywhere near her face. She’d known exactly what she was doing when she’d claimed those groceries as her own. Even if the steel bars and jail cell were a whole lot more real now that they were standing starkly in front of her.

Deputy Collingsworth straightened. “She was shoplifting at The Corner Market. Travis Paulson caught her red-handed, and she admitted it, to him and to me. What else was I supposed to do?”

Shock streaked over Lane’s face, but it didn’t last. “Radio me, for starters,” he hissed, and the guy next to him released an audible, oh-please scoff that sent Marley’s brows hooking up. She opened her mouth to tell Lane and the deputy and God and anyone else within earshot that she didn’t want any special treatment.

But Lane was already shaking his head, the thought forgotten. “You know what, never mind. We’ve got a more immediate issue to deal with here.”

“Okay,” Woody said, enough of a question hanging in his voice that Lane huffed out a breath.

“I’ve also made an arrest, as you can see.” He jerked his chin at Tall, Dark, and Scowling. “And we can’t put two people of the opposite sex in the same jail cell.”

The guy’s face changed then, sending another curl of heat through Marley’s blood. “By all means. Ladies first,” he said, gesturing grandly at the single cell. His smirk was its own entity, taking over his unnervingly rugged and (ugh) undeniably good-looking face as if it had a life of its own. He could fill Wrigley Field with his arrogant attitude and ultra-cocky bravado. Even then, he was brimming with so much of both that he’d probably have to use a crowbar to cram it all in. Too bad for him and his sexy little smile, Marley was packing boatloads of backbone, herself.

And she was in just the mood to let it fly like a fifty-foot flag.

“Oh, no. Really. Age before beauty,” she maintained, planting her hands on the hips of her cutoffs and smiling so sweetly at the wide-open door to the cell, she damn near needed a root canal. “After you.”

The guy’s black brows shot toward the tousled waves falling over his forehead. “It wouldn’t be gentlemanly of me to step on your cute little toes. Please. I insist.”

Oh, my God, was this guy even for real?

UMMMMM… Crossing Hope is seriously the best of the best of the Cross Creek Series! I have to forewarn you not to start reading this book late at night because the moment you meet little Miss Marley, you will not be able to put this book down! I cannot express how much this book gives me the butterflies in my stomach! Kimberly Kincaid, take a bow, because Crossing Hope is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Marley is a little sister  of the handsome Cross boys (a family she never knew growing up existed) and let me tell you not only do I love Marley but also I did not like her in the beginning (because I just wanted her to accept her family whom I have come to love as a reader). I adore that Kincaid wrote a strong bad ass female character. True to Kincaid’s style, she writes the characters flawed and relateable. I always fall in love with each of them.

Do not let me leave out Greyson because ladies, hold on to your hearts, he is delicious in every way possible. It is nice to see that Greyson is a bad boy that has a heart and when him and Marley meet- O-M-G. The chemistry oozes off the pages with these two. When the Marley’s  brothers are added to the mix, a business rivalry and the sexual tension…Lordy, Lordy do you have a sizzling romance story! Did you see the excerpt because that is not even the tip of the iceberg?!

Standing ovation Mrs Kincaid! I did not think a fourth book in series could be a favorite but honestly you have out done yourself on this one and it is for sure my favorite! This book was read in a day in a half, with eyes taped opened so I could not fall asleep. I just had to know what happens. Crossing Hope can be read as a standalone easily and you would not feel like you are missing something.

And don’t miss the first three standalone titles in the Cross Creek series, CROSSING HEARTS, CROSSING THE LINE, and CROSSING PROMISES!

Hunter Cross has no regrets. Having left his football prospects behind the day he graduated high school, he’s happy to carry out his legacy on his family’s farm in the foothills of the Shenandoah. But when a shoulder injury puts him face-to-face with the high school sweetheart who abandoned town—and him—twelve years ago, Hunter’s simple life gets a lot more complicated.

Emerson Montgomery has secrets. Refusing to divulge why she left her job as a hotshot physical therapist for a pro football team, she struggles to readjust to life in the hometown she left behind. The more time she spends with Hunter, the more Emerson finds herself wanting to trust him with the diagnosis of MS that has turned her world upside down.

But revealing secrets comes with a price. Can Hunter and Emerson rekindle their past love? Or will the realities of the present—and the trust that goes with them—burn that bridge for good?

Cocky farmer Eli Cross plays twice as hard as he works. When his latest stunt drums up a heap of negative PR for the family farm, he grudgingly agrees to play host to an ambitious New York City photographer. Her feature on Cross Creek could be just the ticket to show the country what the Cross brothers do best…which is more problem than solution for Eli.

Scarlett Edwards-Stewart has photographed everything from end zones to war zones. She’s confident she can ace this one little story to help her best friend’s failing magazine. At least, she would be if her super-sexy host wasn’t so tight lipped. But the more Scarlett works with Eli, the more she discovers that he’s not who he seems. Can his secret bring them closer together? Or will it be the very thing that tears them apart?

For Owen Cross, the only thing that matters more than family is farming. As the oldest Cross brother, the land is his legacy, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make Cross Creek a success—including hiring local widow Cate McAllister to manage the bookkeeping tasks that are growing in his office like weeds. Cate’s as pragmatic as she is pretty, and she rattles his hard-fought composure at every turn.

Cate had known a lot of things about her husband before he died three years ago in a car accident, but how much debt he’d gotten them into wasn’t one of them. She needs her job at Cross Creek, even if her boss is both gruff and gorgeous. But Owen’s a family man, through and through, and the last thing Cate is interested in is anything—or anyone—with strings attached.

As Owen and Cate join forces to right the farm, they discover there’s more to the other than the surfaces shows, and that passion can be found in unexpected places. Can Cate heal from the loss of one family to gain the love of her life? Or will the past prove too much for the promise of the future?

Love Sincerely Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn…Blog Tour & Review

Dear Mister…**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we’re being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt.

With my boss.

I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . .

He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments.

Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona.

HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you.

My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

Two of my favorite authors coming together to co-write a book together – I don’t even the need the blurb, I am ALL IN!!!

I knew this was an office romance from the teasers that I have seen, but I never read the blurb for this so I quite surprised with how this played out. I expected one thing and got another, which was fine by me.

This office romance plays out in emails that were quite entertaining to read. Peyton knows how everyone sees their boss but she sees something more in him. Her anonymous email in a drunken state was hilarious and definitely caught the boss off guard. So much so, that he decides to reply.

Rome isn’t sure what to make of this back and forth but this mysterious woman has definitely intrigued him. She brings out a side in him that most don’t see. Regardless of the niggling in his brain that this could be something else, he continues to respond.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I am usually pretty good with deciphering which author which wrote character but for once, this one blended well as if only one author wrote the book. I enjoyed the back and worth between Peyton and Rome and the blending of their personalities. While I found myself not connecting to them really well, I still enjoyed the story.

In the end, this was hilarious and enjoyable read. I look forward to many more book by Meghan and Sara.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
