If there’s one gift Erika Sheraton does not want for Christmas, it’s a vacation. Ordered to take time off, the workaholic surgeon reluctantly trades in her scrubs for a ski suit and heads to Wild River, Alaska. Her friend Cassie owns a tour company that offers adventures to fit every visitor. But nothing compares to the adrenaline rush Erika feels on being reunited with Cassie’s brother, Reed Reynolds.

Gone is the buttoned-up girl Reed remembers. His sister’s best friend has blossomed into a strong, skilled, confident woman. She’s exactly what his search-and-rescue team needs—and everything he didn’t know he craved. The gulf between his life in Wild River and her big-city career is wide. The dog jumped onto the couch and continued to yelp, pawing Erika’s shoulder.

“Can you get it away?” she asked, her eyes closed, hands clutched in front of her.

“You allergic?” he asked, approaching and lifting the dog into his arms.

“No. Terrified.”

“Don’t worry. Diva doesn’t eat city folk.” He brought the dog to the kitchen and set her down by her food dish.

Erika glared as she removed her coat and scarf. “It’s not like we have a certain smell or anything.” She kicked off her boots and leaned back against the cushions.

He shrugged as he reached for a blanket from the back of the couch. “I don’t know about that,” he said. He bent toward her and paused near her ear to sniff. The action was meant as a jerk move to annoy her, but damn, it backfired. The tantalizing sweet scent of honey on her neck was subtle and provocative. He hadn’t been close enough to be tempted by it when she’d been in his arms, but now it clouded his senses.

Luckily, she shoved him away before he could do something moronic like lick her.

He tossed the blanket over her quickly and stood. “Okay, so you’re all good?”

She nodded, but her gaze was on his midsection. And her unblinking stare was full of unconcealed attraction. The same way she’d checked out his biceps in the bar.

He glanced down to see that his T-shirt had risen slightly on the right side, exposing his stomach.

Obviously his abs were to her liking.

“Erika.”

“Huh?” Still staring.

“It’s been a while, huh?”

She frowned, finally pulling her gaze back to his. “For what?

“Since you’ve had sex.”

Her mouth gaped.

“I mean, that’s why you’re staring at my stomach like I’m a piece of chocolate.”

“I was not,” she said, but her cheeks flushed. “And I’ll have you know, I have plenty of sex…all the time. Men beating down my door for it…” she mumbled.

That he wouldn’t doubt, except he knew from Cassie that she was a reclusive workaholic and he was willing to bet the only penises she saw were her naked patients.

“And anyway, even if that was the case, you’d be the last guy I’d want to break my dry spell.”

Okay, now he was intrigued. Especially since he’d made no motion to fix his shirt and her eyes were glued on his abs again, betraying her words. He crossed his arms, making sure to flex his biceps for her viewing pleasure, as well. She wasn’t going to get him, but all of a sudden, he wanted her to want him.

“Because I don’t think you’d be any good.”

Star by Elizabeth Lynx…Release Blitz

Title: Star
Series: Price of Fame Series
Author: Elizabeth Lynx
Genre: Steamy Rom/Com Novella
Release Date: September 26, 2019
A movie star moves next door. A disabled veteran minds his own business watching a rather loud *ahem* movie in his bedroom. What happens when she gets fed up with the noise by breaking into his place only to discover him in his birthday suit?

Hi. I’m Niki Sargeant. The actress mentioned above. No, that’s not a movie pitch I plan to show producers. It’s my life.

I recently became Hollywood’s it-girl and moved into a swanky condo. When I hear a woman screaming rather loudly from my new neighbor’s home, I’m concerned. Breaking into his condo seems like a good idea at the time, at least that’s what my friends tell me. I realize it’s a mistake once he appears in the living room with no clothes on.

Yet, I can’t keep my eyes off him.

Did Niki say she broke into my place over concern about a woman screaming? Let me tell you the truth.

I’m Tucker Six, former Marine, the current head of a tech firm, and a mysterious loner. Maybe not a loner or mysterious but I am where it counts.

Wait, that didn’t come out right. Let’s start over.

There is only one reason Niki broke into my home, my body. I won’t lie. I’m cut and the coolest person within a five-mile radius. I can’t blame Niki for wanting me. But I have a problem.
She obviously wants me for my body but I wanted her heart.
Pushing on my wheels, I came to a stop on the other side of the couch. “I know you are there. You might as well stand up and get the humiliation over with now.”

“If we don’t get up, he can’t have us arrested,” one of them stage-whispered.

“Do you even know the law? Of course, I could have you all arrested. You broke into my home.”

“Technically, we used your key. It’s right outside your door on that small table, under the plant. If we really analyzed the situation, you practically invited us inside,” one of the women said and her voice sounded familiar.

What she said sounded like something I would come up with. I had to give her credit for that piece of wordcraft.

“I commend you on putting that together, but the law would disagree with you.”

“Shit. Sorry, Emmie, Niki. I tried.”

“Willa! You just used our names. What happened to using code names?”

“You all realize I can hear everything you say, right?”

“This is ridiculous. I’m standing,” one of them said while the others pleaded with her to stay down.

The air left my lungs when she emerged. The soft curls of her platinum blond hair looked like a halo that framed her face. Her long, dark lashes dusted her cheeks, and I imagined her down on her knees sucking me off, her lashes almost tickling my cock.

That image brought me to her thick, red lips, which were currently in an O-shape. She was surprised and embarrassed but for a moment, I imagined she was like the woman in the porno with the horny mouth.

Her cheeks darkened and I suspected it wasn’t due to breaking into my home. It was because we knew each other.

“Oh, uh . . . hi, Tucker. So, this is your place? It’s nice.”

“Tucker?” Willa said and stood. “Oh, shit.” She turned her back to me. “You need to cover yourself. You can’t be pointing your torpedo at us like that!”

“What?” the final female said as her head lifted over the edge of the couch. It was Emmie Delarosa.

I knew Willa Jones as she was my brother’s girlfriend, but the other ladies I had only met once. We met when Willa drew penises around my brother’s car and threatened to call the cops on him. That was a fun day. I remember trying my best to impress the ladies by going along with them.

Was I selling my brother out? Yes. But come on, they were all hot, especially Niki Sargeant who looked like a mix of Marilyn Monroe and Kate Upton.

“Emmie, stay down. That thing may go off at any moment. We can’t afford a casualty,” Willa said placing her hand on Emmie’s head and pushing her down gently.

Glancing down, I was shocked, too. Not that I was naked—I knew that part—but that my cock was at full attention.

“Now you come to life? I downloaded the dirtiest porn I could find and nothing. But three women break into my condo and you get hard . . . Wait, oh, I get it. Never mind, Little Me, you’re working A-OK.” I gave it a wink. I would have fist-bumped it but that would be weird, even for me.

“How did I not know you lived here?” Willa asked with her back still toward me.

My eyes kept bouncing between her and Niki. Emmie was back to hiding behind the couch, but Niki had yet to turn or close her eyes. Every time I glanced at her, she quickly averted her gorgeous blue eyes and my dick loved it.

She was pretending not to stare at me, but she wasn’t very good at it. I heard Niki was an actress. She must not be good if she couldn’t pretend to keep her eyes off my buff, slightly broken, body.

“Because you’re too busy boinking my brother to visit. Besides, I’m not really the social type but since you ladies are here, I could try to come out of my shell,” I said with a wink at Niki.

“No offense, Tucker, while a guy with a big dick is my thing, I’m rather faithful to your brother,” Willa said.

“I get that. I may be an asshole, but I’d never do that to Hunter. So, that just leaves you, ladies. You obviously were attracted by the female mating signal I sent out—at least enough to break-in. So, should we just—”

I was cut off by Emmie’s squeal as she raced to the front door. That woman could move. She was a blur and before I knew it, there was only Willa with her back still facing me and Niki.

“So, no threesome. That’s cool. It would be confusing with so many arms anyway.” I stared at Niki who had finally brought her eyes to mine. They were like looking at the sea for the first time—refreshing and breathtaking and I never wanted them to turn away.

“Tucker. There will be no sex with Niki tonight. She’s coming with me.”

“Can I watch?”

Willa finally turned. “You’ve got problems. Now go back to your porn and for God’s sake, turn it down.”

Elizabeth Lynx writes romcoms with a lot of steam and characters you’ll be mad aren’t actually real. She has worn many hats in life: mother, wife, photographer, graphic designer, executive assistant, and used to print pictures for the White House. For the past several years, she’s decided to put down on paper all the crazy voices in her head. Surprisingly, those voices did some really naughty things.

Once I realized I was alone with Seb, I started to feel uneasy. Since the night, I left Brian I hadn’t been alone with a man. I didn’t really want to be. My fight or flight instinct was kicking in, and the flight was telling me to get the hell away from this man. Looking at him, I knew he could hurt me. He was taller than me by a good foot. He was built like a rock. I knew that, since I had his body pressed up to mine not even 15 minutes ago. Even though he seemed like a good guy, I didn’t know him well and I just couldn’t trust him just yet.

“I need to go,” I tell him, looking around for the door. I know he is probably thinking I am crazy but at this moment I just don’t care. I am frantically looking around for the door that we came in. I have got to get away from him before I have a complete meltdown.

“What’s wrong? Are you ok?” He places his hand on my shoulder.

I flinch, I just can’t help it, trying to slow my breathing I respond, “yeah, I’m fine…I just really need to find my friends.” I turn and start to walk toward the door, but before he could say anything else, the door opens and in come, not only his friends but mine too. I sighed with relief, but it was short lived. I knew with all four of them in here, we ladies didn’t have a chance if they wanted to hurt us. I knew that not all men were out to hurt women, but I couldn’t stop the way my brain worked. I had lived in fear for over 2 years, before I finally had the courage to run. I start walking toward Beth. When her eyes met mine, she knew instantly something was wrong.

Taking my hand, she leads me to the restroom. Once inside, she locks the door, and places both her hands on my cheeks.

“Babe, calm down. You are fine. We are in a club with nice men who want to talk and dance with us. Nothing more.”

I place my forehead on her shoulder. “Did he do or say something to you to make you think he would hurt you?”

I shake my head, no. “Then what the hell happened?”

Thinking about her question, I sigh. “I was fine, we were talking and then we were alone. I just freaked. God, Beth, he probably thinks I am crazy.”

“Where are you going? My house is in the other direction. I live in the city, not over the Bay Bridge in the East Bay.”

I try the door handle, but it doesn’t work. I push my shoulder into the door, hoping it’s only stuck. I push harder, putting my whole weight into the door. It doesn’t budge.

“I know where you live,” he sneers. “We’re going for a ride.”

“What are you talking about? Take me back! Stop the car! Let me out!”

He ignores me and doesn’t respond. When my panic levels out to an even terror, I begin to think clearly. The app documented my ride. My friends and family will look for me. I stare down at my phone.

I can call 911.

I dial.

Nothing.

I look to see how many bars are on my phone, and instead it reads “No Service.” My heart races faster than it ever has.

I see the driver hold up a contraption that looks almost like a garage door opener. “This is called a cell phone jammer. No cell service for you.”

My blood turns cold. I try the door again. I finally realize the child safety locks are engaged. I don’t know what to do.

Holy crap. What did I get into?

I verified everything when he drove up.

What has set this guy off?

I look frantically around me. People are busily going about their day, heading home for the evening, driving over the Bay Bridge and heading east away from San Francisco. No one looks at other drivers, too busy concentrating on the narrow lanes of the bridge and five lanes of traffic.

My pulse quickens, and I begin to sweat. I’m breathing too quick and start to hyperventilate. My mind is racing.

I think of Mason. I know he’ll turn over hell to find me.

I think of my brother and desperately wish that my twin telepathy actually worked for once.

I think of my three best friends.

Emerson. I’ve known her since our freshman year at Stanford. She was so busy with the golf team and her classes that she hardly paid attention to my drama, but she quickly became a steadfast friend.

Hadlee grew up next door, and when her mother died, her dad left her to be cared for by nannies as he searched through three more wives looking for a replacement. She essentially moved into my room.

Greer’s mother is sick. Her father plied Greer with money so she’d stay and take care of her mother while he started a new family. Now she has a wonderful husband, and I’m sure she’ll be pregnant any minute.

I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to stop this. Even though we’re going over the bridge in heavy traffic, moving well below the speed limit, if I could open the door, what use would it be? We’re going too fast and the traffic is moving too quickly for me to get out.

An evil, maniacal laugh comes from him. “Face it, you’re mine!”

I sit back in my seat, knowing I need to think, not dwell. I close my eyes and hear the rhythm of the bridge. Bu-bump, bu-bump. I take a big breath and hold it for a count of three, then purse my lips and blow out. I do that again and again as we pass over the bridge. We head north on 80 toward Sacramento. The traffic begins to thin, and his speed increases.

I need to get him talking. I need him to see me as a real person, not someone the newspapers and gossip columns have made up. “What did I ever do to you?”

“You have no idea,” he growls. “I know who you are and where you work. I know all about you and your little group of friends at SHN.”

Holy shit, this guy is a stalker. How did he manage to get my ride? How is it even possible?

He exits the freeway and takes a four-lane road through the Contra Costa mountain range. I’m trying to keep talking while I pay attention to every turn we make.

“I know all about them. Dillon thinks he’s so smart. He’s not. Cameron thinks he’s so great with computers. He’s not. Mason never liked me; he always thought he was smarter than me and that he had better business acumen. Well, I showed them.”

We transition to the 680 and begin heading south on the other side of the mountains in the hot central valley. It’s almost like we’re doing a circle. Maybe he’s going to rant and rave for a while and then drop me at home. I decide to keep him talking. “How do you know Dillon, Cameron, and Mason?”

“I’ve known them since we went to school together.”

“When did they go to school together?” Duh. They all met at Stanford.

He glosses right over my question. “We met then, too. You were all high and mighty. Mizz Caro-line Are-no. La-tee-da with your French last name and your big trust fund. You’ve never had to work a day in your life.”

I need to direct him to share more about himself and not add to his craziness by defending myself. “I don’t recall meeting you. When did we meet?”

“Oh, we’ve met lots of times,” he says snidely.

He doesn’t elaborate and begins to mutter a little bit to himself. I try to listen to what he’s saying, but I can’t make it out. I don’t think he’s drunk, just mad. Mad as a hornet.

“You guys and your little clickie-club. No one is ever good enough for you. You snub anyone who tries to break into your little group. Oh, I know all about you.”

I stare at the side of his face. He doesn’t look familiar.

We slow as we enter some of the larger towns on the other side of the Contra Costa mountain range. I keep watching my phone, waiting to see if I get any bars.

Nothing.

It’s dark now, and all I can see are headlights of the oncoming cars. It’s getting stuffy in the car. “Can we crack the window?”

“No.”

I begin to do my breathing exercises as we approach San Jose. I look in my bag for the water bottle I always keep there and my keys fall out. I push them out of the way as I search and then notice the safety hammer attached to my keyring.

Of course! The hammer is made to break a window!

We have to get off the freeway at some point. He’ll need gas eventually. I can wait. My anxiety begins to ebb.

Suddenly he explodes. “Dillon is a giant pussy. He’s all about any slut who waves her snatch in front of him and then forgets everyone else around him. He goes wherever a pussy leads him.”

I might as well engage him. “I don’t know if you know this, but he’s happily married and has a little boy.”

Blurb
I knew falling for him was wrong. I did it anyway, his half smiles and blue eyes pulling me deeper.  Blue eyes that made me soar. He wasn’t mine to keep, though. And like all good and rare things, it came to an end.
Then he strolls into my life, armed with
dimples and gray eyes. Gray eyes that ground me. He smashes through my
defenses, stealing what is left of my heart.
Now my heart is a war zone, past and present battling for my forever.
They say lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice. I call bullshit on that theory.

Autumn Grey, you really know how to keep people dangling off the edge with this trilogy.

Disgraceful picks up where desolate ended and Autumn keeps on this emotional roller coaster ride.

Grace has chosen to walk away Sol, even though it hurts them both. She knows what they were doing was wrong, regardless of how much they love one another. I applaud her for making such a tough decision, but it was necessary for them both.

This book is very much Grace’s book. Even though we get POVs from Sol, this book was all about Grace and her growth (or sometimes lack thereof).

For anyone reading further – there are some elements that will tick some readers off. Grace is torn between loving two men. Her actions are those of someone who is conflicted, confused and trying to make the right decisions. I know some readers hate love triangles, so if you are one of them, take precautions when reading this book. However, I feel that Autumn handles this brilliantly and truly doesn’t make light of any of the decisions that her characters make.

Autumn has me completely sucked into this story. While I may not be thrilled with the decisions on these characters and they sometimes give me whiplash with their ping pong ways, it’s those crazy-haired choices that make this book all the more angsty and entertaining.

I love that this book is told from each character’s POV. Autumn adds another layer to this story with adding Levi to the story. I am probably in the minority but I really want to see Grace and Levi together, I really do. It’s not that I don’t think Sol is right for her, but I think their place in each other’s lives was to be each other’s first love and that’s all.

Disgraceful leaves us dangling from the edge once again. I definitely saw this ending coming before Autumn brought us there, but I wasn’t upset by that or letdown. I’ve just read enough books to have an idea of where things are heading. Regardless, I am still anxious to see what happens in absolution.

review

Amy Daws is back with another Harris book – but this one the main character is their female cousin!! If you have never read any of her Harris Brothers books, do not worry, this one can be read as a complete standalone. But you do get glimpses of the Harris brothers, which will just have you wanting to go read their books next.

The blurb for this book is pretty much all you need to know going into this book. If I tell you any other tidbits of the plot, I would be pretty much surmising the book for you and that is just not cool.

I love the way Amy brings life to her stories. Amy’s characters are always relatable and real. I love how we see growth in Allie and how she handles herself. Roan is just WOW. That man is definitely one-of-a-kind. His pursuit of Allie and how he treats her is just out-of-this-world amazing.

I loved so much about this book. I laughed, a lot, and even teared up a bit. I know that with every book that Amy writes, I am going to be living in the characters’ shoes and I love that. It makes the book that more authentic and real.

I highly recommend Payback – whether it be your first Amy Daws book, your first Harris Brothers read or a continued fan of of Amy’s – you will enjoy this book so much.

excerpt

Without warning, my uncle pushes open a set of double doors and leads me into a changing room full of…

Naked. Soccer players.

Butt naked, wet or sweaty—I can’t quite tell—soccer players.

I catch sight of one guy flicking a towel at the bare ass of another, so I duck my head and shield my gaze. Good-god, if I’m caught ogling several hanging members being swung about all willy-nilly, I’ll be sure to lose my job! Be cool, Allie. Be cool. You’re one of the guys! And you’ve seen penises before!

I stumble behind Vaughn, who doesn’t miss a step as he continues marching on, walking past loads more of naked soccer players positioned at their lockers. Seriously, why are they all completely naked? Don’t they get cold? I thought shrinkage was a real thing! Nothing in this room is shrunken. Shranked? Whatever…I can’t grammar right now, there’s dicks everywhere!

Vaughn rounds a corner to another set of lockers and states firmly, “Here we are.”

I look up just as my high heel catches on something beneath me. I make a move to extract it, but my foot hooks on to whatever it is, holding my leg hostage while my body continues propelling forward. Letting out a yelp, I brace myself for an epic tumble.

But instead of falling down on the concrete flooring like I thought I would, I end up face planting into a chest. A very manly chest. A very manly, naked chest, whose pecs feel like two smooth boulders tensing beneath my twitching fingers that are currently clinging on for dear life.

“Ag, careful…That bag’s a biter,” a familiar voice murmurs on the top of my head as two very large hands wrap around my waist.

I look up and every organ in my body does a somersault as I stare up into the gorgeously pale brown eyes of Roan DeWalt. My one-night-stand.

Who’s apparently not at all worried about shrinkage.

The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine…..Review & eBook Giveaway

Synopsis:

The internationally bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish follows that success with an addictive novel filled with shocking twists about the aftermath of a brutal high-society murder.

Dr. Kate English has it all. Not only is she the heiress to a large fortune; she has a gorgeous husband and daughter, a high-flying career, and a beautiful home anyone would envy.

But all that changes the night Kate’s mother, Lily, is found dead, brutally murdered in her own home. Heartbroken and distraught, Kate reaches out to her estranged best friend, Blaire Barrington, who rushes to her side for the funeral, where the years of distance between them are forgotten in a moment.

That evening, Kate’s grief turns to horror when she receives an anonymous text: You think you’re sad now, just wait. By the time I’m finished with you, you’ll wish you had been buried today. More than ever, Kate needs her old friend’s help.

Once Blaire decides to take the investigation into her own hands, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems in Baltimore high society. As infidelity, lies, and betrayals come to light, and tensions rise to a boiling point, she begins to alienate Kate’s friends and relatives with her relentless, accusatory questions, as she tries to find Lily’s killer. The murderer could be anyone—friend, neighbor, loved one. But whoever it is, it’s clear that Kate is next on their list. . .

In The Last Time I Saw You, Liv Constantine takes the lightning pace of The Last Mrs. Parrish and raises the stakes, creating an exquisitely tension-filled and absorbing tale of psychological suspense in which innocent lives—and one woman’s sanity—hang in the balance.

My Review:

The Last Time I Saw You is the newest work from the dynamic sister duo Liv Constantine and if you know me at all, you know I have been singing the praise of their first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish, since it’s release.  To say I was super excited to get an advance copy of this book would be a serious understatement and as I started reading it, I knew these sisters had done it again….this book was FANTASTIC!

This book starts out with a huge blow and the hits just kept coming the more and more I read.  I loved it. From a childhood friend suddenly returning years after a major falling out to a husband with a coworker dying to get into his pants, and of course, a murder mystery and threatening anonymous texts, I could NOT put this book down.

Like our heroine Kate, I was kept guessing with each text she received.  I had no idea who to trust, who to keep an eye on, who to dismiss as a non-threat.  Honestly, I imagine I felt EXACTLY as Kate felt.  I could put myself in her shoes and with each chapter I read I got more and more involved in solving the mystery at hand.  It was SUCH a thrill ride! Along the way I had mixed emotions towards the childhood friend Blaire, her husband Simon, and even the police trying to help get to the bottom of things. I won’t spoil anything for you but I will tell you the twist at the end was one I never saw coming and it was absofreakingloutely brilliant. Oh so juicy and oh so perfect!

If you take one thing away from this review, it’s that you MUST read this book…..you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you, Lynne and Val, for another stellar read!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Cover Reveal…Undeniable by Melanie Harlow

Undeniable - CR banner.jpg

Undeniable, an all-new stand-alone sexy second chance romance from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow, is coming May 20th and we have the gorgeous cover!

Undeniable-PRINT-FOR-WEB.jpg

When we were eleven, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot-jump.

He lied.

(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.)

I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton.

But it wasn’t.

Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier—and the betting stakes higher—until finally, he left me in pieces. I swore I’d never talk to him again.

But twenty years after I took that flying leap, he’s back in my life, daring me to risk everything for him: my job, my self-worth, and my heart.

How many chances does true love deserve?
