Everywhere and Every Way

BLURB:

Hot on the heels of her beloved Marriage to a Billionaire novels, New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst nails it with the first in an all-new sexy romance series featuring red-hot contractor siblings who give the Property Brothers a run for their money!

Ever the responsible eldest brother, Caleb Pierce started working for his father’s luxury contracting business at a young age, dreaming of one day sitting in the boss’s chair. But his father’s will throws a wrench in his plans by stipulating that Caleb share control of the family business with his two estranged brothers.

Things only get more complicated when demanding high-end home designer Morgan hires Caleb to build her a customized dream house that matches her specifications to a T—or she’ll use her powerful connections to poison the Pierce brothers’ reputation. Not one to ignore a challenge, Caleb vows to get the job done—if only he can stop getting distracted by his new client’s perfect…amenities.

But there’s more to icy Morgan than meets the eye. And Caleb’s not the only one who knows how to use a stud-finder. In fact, Morgan is pretty sure she’s found hers—and he looks quite enticing in a hard hat. As sparks fly between Morgan and Caleb despite his best intentions not to mix business and pleasure, will she finally warm up and help him lay the foundation for everlasting love?

My Review:

Everywhere and Every Way is the first in a new series from author Jennifer Probst and being a huge fan of Ms. Probst, I am always excited for a new book and especially a new series.  It’s safe to say that this is gearing up to be another fave series of mine because after this first installment, I am hooked!
Oh, boy, this book is not only packed with plenty of heat and deliciously building heat between the two main characters, Cal and Morgan, but also with tons of family business drama.  Being married to a third generation family business owner and all of the dynamics that come along with it, I can tell you that Ms. Probst freaking nailed that aspect of things.  There are always plenty of opinions and different views on any type of decision, especially when the people making the decisions are men! All those healthy egos tend to get in the way and I loved each brother’s differences as well as their common bond with wanting to keep the family business around…even if they all don’t want to admit it at first. These brothers are all amazing and I cannot wait to read each of their stories as the series progresses.
Getting back to Cal and Morgan…oh, how I loved these two together. From their very first meeting and the humor that went along with it, they were spectacular.  Opposite in many ways but similar in so many more.  Both having been hurt in past serious relationships and both having their own personal battles they are overcoming really touched me and I was pulling for these two to get their happy ever after.  Of course, being the amazing ending writer that Ms. Probst is, I can assure you it was everything I could have hoped for and more!  Man, every ending this author writes is totally movie worthy! The whole book is movie worthy!
From start to finish, with Ms. Probst’s talent in delivering wonderfully multi-faceted characters and a story line that captivates with each page, I know this is going to be a favorite of all romance fans! Thank you, Ms. Probst, for yet another series I have already fallen in love with!

Deception Island by Brynn Kelly…Blog Tour Stop & Review

51c8n50sZWL._SX328_BO1,204,203,200_About Deception Island

Hardcover: 336 pages

Publisher: HQN Books (May 31, 2016)

A stolen boy

A haunted soldier

A cornered con woman…

Rafe Angelito thought he was done with the demons from his past—until his son is kidnapped. Blackmailed into abducting an American heiress, the legionnaire soon finds himself trapped in paradise with a fiery, daring beauty who’s nothing he expects…and everything he desires. But when he uncovers her own dark secret, Rafe realizes he’s made a critical mistake—one that could cost him everything.

Playing body double for a spoiled socialite was supposed to be Holly Ryan’s ticket to freedom. But when she’s snatched off her yacht by a tall, dark and dangerous stranger, the not-quite-reformed con artist will make a desperate play to turn her captor from enemy to ally, by any means necessary.

Yet as scorching days melt into sultry nights, Holly is drawn to the mysterious capitaine, with his unexpected sense of honor and his searing touch. When they’re double-crossed, they’ll have to risk trusting each other in ways they never imagined…because in this deadly game of deception, it’s their lives—and hearts—on the line.

My Review:

Deception Island is the debut work from author Brynn Kelly and filled with action and suspense, this is definitely an author I will be looking forward to reading more from.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Rafe and Holly.  Neither one of them is who they appear to be but in a good way.  While Rafe is appearing to be a cold, badass kidnapper, he has a touching reason behind his mission.  While Holly appears to be a socialite used to the good life, she is actually an ex-con playing a role.  I loved how both of those factors played into their situation and the internal dialog it gave us.  Both characters are wonderfully complex and multifaceted.  I also loved that this was heavier on the action/suspense side rather than the romance side of things.  It gave this story a very real and believable feel. I also have to say I loved that Rafe was French.  It gave him a little extra flavor of interesting that I really enjoyed.

Overall, this was a thrill a minute ride I won’t soon forget! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this author because i have no doubt it will be amazing.

Review:

Are you laughing or at least smiling as you read the 10-rule blurb above? If yes, then you have to read the rest of this book.

I normally shy away from books with the “new adult” tag, but this one doesn’t have all the heavy drama and angst I associate with that genre. It was a light-hearted romantic comedy. Heavy on the comedy! I seriously laughed out loud many, many times. I’m going through all the parts and quotes I highlighted and if I share them all with you this review will be longer than some books.

Lainey Taylor is starting her very first post-college, grown-up job as second assistant to the CEO at Starr Media, Brogan Starr. The hot CEO with tattoos and amazing dimples and oh, somewhere around 750 rules. No, really. The employee manual has about 750 rules that every employee must learn and memorize.

Pretty much, working at Starr Media was the equivalent of being part of Fight Club. Heavy emphasis on the first rule.

But a hot boss makes it hard to follow some of the rules. Or, a lot of them

He cleared his throat.

Warning bells blared between my ears. Abort mission. Move your eyes up before he thinks you’re staring at his package. Which, let’s face it, I totally was.

Dear readers, we haven’t even made it past day one yet! The humor and the chemistry kept me turning pages. This is one of those stories you’ll find hard to put down. You will love the heroine, Lainey. She’s smart and funny and her inner dialog is hilarious and on point. You’ll want to be her best friend.

My only complaint is the closed-door sex scenes. It was a bit of a let down after all the build up between Lainey and Brogan and it made it confusing as to when their actual first time having sex happened. But it’s a minor complaint, the rest of the book is fan-freaking-fantastic. Even the dog with a gas problem!

Excerpt

I sat down at the table and unwrapped the Panini and frowned. Breadsticks would have hit the spot. Although, no amount of breadsticks was worth giving up a steady income, not even Luigi’s. Still, I gave a spiteful glare to my sandwich.

Just in time to take me out of my garlic grieving, someone walked into the break room. The first thing I noticed was his hair. You could tell a lot about someone based off the length and style. And the clean-cut, lightly-styled golden brown hair that the guy in the plain black tee sported spoke volumes. It said “I look like I’m not trying too hard, but I carefully crafted this look of perfection for at least fifteen minutes this morning.”

The second thing I noticed was this guy should be reamed for violating the dress code policy. Not that I was complaining—because, really, those tatted biceps deserved to be on full display at all times.

I mentally catalogued everyone I’d spotted during Jackson’s drive-by office tour. He most definitely wasn’t part of that whirlwind of name-drops, because I’d remember those high cheekbones. And those tattoos. His arms were covered from each wrist with intricate markings, disappearing under the sleeve of his T-shirt. Some were words, some were pictures I couldn’t quite piece together without creepily staring at him. Decidedly, all were hot as hell.

He smiled at me and walked over to the water cooler. He procured a teabag from his pocket, plopped it into his black coffee mug, and filled it with water. The glug glug glug of the cooler cut through the silence, and I quickly swallowed my bite of turkey sandwich, preparing myself for if this guy wanted to talk—unlike the last five people who took one look into the break room, saw evidence of human life, and booked it to the elevator before I could even manage a hello. For people working at a social media agency, they were oddly…antisocial.

“You’re new here.” It was a statement. One that held the suggestion that this happened more often than my purchases from ShoeBinge.com. I’d deleted the app from my phone the minute I learned Mom’s diagnosis a month ago and was still thinking about those rhinestone heels.

“Second day.” I smiled. Finally. Someone to talk to. Besides Jackson and his awesome ability to give the evil eye over his computer screen.

“How are you liking it so far?” The muscles in his bicep bunched together as he took a sip of his tea. Ovaries, meet arm porn, your new best friend.

I folded the wax paper of my sandwich wrapper in half and creased the seam with my thumb. “It’s been nice. I made it through the employee manual…finally.”

“Learn anything good?”

I looked up from the wrapper and eyed him. “You’re breaking the dress code in at least two ways.”

He looked down at his clothes and then back at me, smiling. Two dimples indented his cheeks, and I realized how incredibly unfair it was that someone could be that gorgeous and not airbrushed by professionals in a magazine.

“Guess I am.”

“You’ve met the boss. What’s he like? Uptight like that rule book?”

His lips tipped up in one corner as he regarded me with his piercing brown eyes. “I don’t know if uptight would be my first choice.”

I chuckled. “Really? I hear he’s called the Antichrist.”

His brows rose. “Oh, really. That one’s new to me.”

“Huh.” I fiddled with the wrapper. “Jackson said it was a pretty well-known nickname around the office.” Maybe the guy worked in a different department than everyone else. Heck, he was a lot nicer than all the other employees I’d (not) talked to yesterday and today.

He let out a loud laugh that echoed throughout the break room. “Very interesting. Thanks for the heads up.” He grabbed the string to the tea bag and absentmindedly dunked it in the water. Veins corded deliciously up his arms and my brain went into zombie mode. Except instead of my inner monologue chanting must eat brains, it was must touch veeeeeeeins. “What’s your name?” he asked, bringing me out of my stupor.

I cleared my throat, heat tingeing my cheeks. “Lainey Taylor. Newly appointed second assistant to the Antichrist.”

Mr. Dimples mashed his lips together, and I couldn’t tell if the glint in his eyes was because he was amused or slightly annoyed. Maybe a bit of both. Great, I guess I was back to square one with making friends here. He backed toward the door and leaned against the frame. Really odd. Where I came from, people tended to give their name after someone else introduced themselves. This guy? Nada. I doubted 200 exits up the I-5 corridor were enough to see a shift in social customs.

He bit down on his full bottom lip and looked like he was really enjoying this awkward silence that had me squirming in my seat. I balled up the sandwich wrapper just to give my hands something to do. Really, these people needed to work on their social skills. Where was the welcoming committee? Mental note: start welcome committee if one doesn’t exist.

“It’s really nice meeting you, Lainey,” he said.

He put his hand on the doorframe, and just before he left the room, I called, “Do I get your name?”

“You can call me the Antichrist.” And with that, he breezed out into the hallway and disappeared into his office.

My heart screeched to a halt, and that turkey Panini turned to a solid brick in the bottom of my stomach.

Shit.

Wild Aces #1

Adult Contemporary Romance

Penguin/Berkley

BOOK SUMMARY:

From the author of the Capital Confessions Novels comes the first in the steamy Wild Aces Romance series.

U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Noah Miller—call sign Burn—loves nothing more than flying hard and fast. When he meets a gorgeous and sassy woman while partying in Las Vegas, he immediately locks on to her.

Jordan Callahan owns a thriving clothing boutique, but her love life is far less successful. Her luck changes when six feet, two inches of sexy swagger asks her to dance and turns her world upside down.

One scorching weekend becomes an undeniable chemistry that they can’t leave in Vegas. But the long distance relationship and their different lives threaten to ground their romance. And when the dangers of Noah’s job become all too real, Jordan learns being with a fighter pilot means risking it all for a shot at love…

My Review:

Fly With Me is the first in a new series from author Chanel Cleeton and I absolutely loved it.  From start to finish this book is filled with heat, humor, and a ton of emotion.

Right from the start we are treated to Jordan’s sparkling personality and a dose of humor as she sets out for a night out on the town in Las Vegas for her sister’s bachelorette party.  But pretty quickly things turn from funny to smoking hot when she meets Noah.  Sexy swagger filled, fighter pilot Noah.  Oh man, talk about an instant attraction.  It was hot and fast and just perfect.  Soon they both realize what happens in Vegas shouldn’t stay in Vegas and that what they’ve found was something special.  Would they’re budding relationship be able to handle the struggles of not just a long distance but with all the things military life brings to the table?

I loved so much about this book.  I loved Jordan’s entire personality.  She’s strong, confident, determined, and witty.  I love that she knows who she is and isn’t afraid to be that person.  Tyler was equally amazing.  He shares a lot of the same traits as Jordan in being determined, confident, and damned sexy.  Together they are delicious.  The heat between them is ridiculously hot but also tender and sweet at times.  Noah is, like Jordan says, a unicorn in the dating world.  He’s so many things rolled into one sexy package.  Of course, I knew as well as things were going for them, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.  And oh man, when it did, I was so heartbroken.  It really shook things up for Jordan, Noah, and the men he flies with.   I won’t ruin anything but I will tell you to get some tissues and not to worry too much. It was a necessary moment they needed to have and while I was sobbing my eyes out, I understood it.  It really added a touching emotional layer to this story and made my love it even more.

It’s safe to say this is shaping up to be a fave series of mine and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Cleeton has in store for us next!

Dare to Take by Carly Phillips….ARC Review

Dare to Take is out TODAY!

dare to take cover

Synopsis:

She was off limits,
But he couldn’t resist.

There are just some guys you don’t touch–even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother’s best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can’t resist. After all, she’s wanted him for years…

On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend’s sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.

Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It’s his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he’s never forgotten that he’s coming after her . . . in more ways than one.

My Review:

Dare to Take is the sixth installment in author Carly Phillips’ Dare to Love series and I hate to admit it but this is the first book in the series I’ve read *runs and ducks for cover*.  I know, I know, I really need to read the rest of them now because I totally loved this book and am dying to know the entire Dare family.

Tyler and Ella have a bit of a long history, with a few bumps in the road that led them to where they are today.  A drunken night of lost virginity and regrets years earlier has tainted the friendship they once had…but it never tainted the attraction and hidden feelings they both shared for each other.  Fast forward to the present day where time had passed, but those feelings never faded and when Ella needs help, Tyler has to be the one to be her knight in shining armor.  Of course, the forced close proximity wasn’t exactly what they wanted, having successfully avoided each other for quite some time, but oh boy, was it just what the doctor ordered and turned out to be exactly what they needed.  And I loved it!

I seriously love a good friends to lovers to enemies to lovers story and Ms. Phillips knocked it out of the park with Tyler and Ella.  I loved getting to see Tyler’s protective side in the very beginning and then getting to see his sexy sweet side with Ella.  And let me just say, his sexy side is sexy with a capital ‘S’! I loved Ella as well and he reluctance to open up her old wounds but also wanting to give it a chance.  Give Tyler a chance.  They were so great together and the heat burned up the pages.  There was also a bit of mystery in this story and it added an element of danger and suspense that I really enjoyed.  It had Tyler’s alpha side out in full effect and oh my, was that hot to see.

I also loved the interaction between Tyler, his family, and Ella, who had been a close family friend for a good portion of their lives.  It’s a big loving and loyal clan with a lot of characters I really am dying to read more about…rest assured I’ll be heading to scoop up the entire backlist as soon as I finish typing this review!

If you’re looking for a sexy, intense, emotional, and suspenseful romance, this is a book for you.  And seeing as though it’s the first in the series I’ve read, it can totally be read as a standalone (but I’m sure you’ll be like me and dying to read the other Dare’s!).  Thank you, Ms. Phillips, for a fantastic read!

Never Tear Us Apart by Monica Murphy…ARC Review

Never Tear Us Apart is out TODAY!

Never Let You Go

Synopsis:

The second novel in this darkly sexy contemporary series from bestselling author Monica Murphy wraps up an emotionally powerful two-part tale of forbidden love.

The truth hurts, they say—and my pain cuts deep. While I was falling for Ethan, he was deceiving me the entire time. He held a huge secret, protected by his lies. When I discovered what he was hiding, the truth shook my world, threatening to ruin us forever. Ruin me. But I soon realized that what we share can’t be destroyed.

The connection between us is too strong. It always has been. I can’t deny him any longer. And I can’t deny my truth: I’m in love with Ethan.

I don’t want to let him go.

While we’re trying our best to make this relationship work, other forces are fighting against us. My family, who wants to keep me safe. The media obsessed with my tragic past. The public that feeds off of it. Even Ethan’s father—the man who nearly destroyed me all those years ago. He’s doing his best to finish the job.

Despite my love for Ethan, the doubts creep in, clouding my mind. Is he worth the pain? Will our love survive, or will we have no choice but to end it—end us—once and for all?

My Review:

Never Let You Go is the follow-up to author Monica Murphy’s Never Tear Us Apart, which I highly recommend reading first, and is the ending to Ethan (Will) and Katie’s story.  What a wild and emotional ride…it was amazing!

There’s something to be said for relationships forged in trying and hard times, as Katie and Ethan’s was.  It’s what happens in the aftermath and picking up the pieces that matters in making any kind of future…whether together or apart.  As if the trauma Katie and Ethan have already been through isn’t enough, they now have to navigate all sorts of issues.  Family drama, especially for Katie, a reporter hell-bent on getting them to talk, and fumbling through the confusing and intense emotions they feel for one another…it’s enough to make a person crazy.  But they have each other and no matter what, that will win out in the end (and oh my what an amazing ending it was!).

Filled with a ton of raw emotion and showcasing a beautiful and touching love found in darkness, this book was a phenomenal conclusion.

Thank you, Ms. Murphy!

After We Fall by Marquita Valentine….Release Day Event & ARC Review

Title: After We Fall
Series: Take the Fall #3
Author: Marquita Valentine
Publisher: Loveswept
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Release
Date: April 26, 2016

Blurb
After winning raves for Take the Fall (“crackling with tension, intrigue, and romance”—Katy Evans) and When We Fall (“sexy, emotional, heartfelt”—Monica Murphy), Marquita Valentine ratchets up the tension as new beginnings lead to undeniable passion.A tough cop with an even tougher past, Hunter Sloan has never let anyone stop him from getting what he wants—and he wants Evangeline Ambrose bad. With her gentle curves and raw vulnerability, Hunter’s beautiful, mysterious new neighbor awakens his protective side. Determined to do right by a woman who’s gone through hell and back, Hunter could be the one to take away the pain—so long as his own secrets don’t sink their relationship before it begins.Having escaped an abusive marriage, Evangeline simply wants to start over in the small, quiet town of Forrestville. She’s also avoiding all contact with the opposite sex, because she just can’t trust her instincts when it comes to men—not even with the sinfully sexy cop next door. So why can’t she stop thinking about him? Hunter has darkness in his soul, and yet no one ever made her feel so safe. For all her best laid plans, Evangeline didn’t count on choices this hard—or temptation this hot.

My Review:

After We Fall is the third book in author Marquita Valentine’s Take the Fall Series and actually the first in the series that I’ve read.  It’s safe to say that I will be picking up the previous two titles after reading this third installment because I really enjoyed this book!

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the message of survival and resilience.  A message that no matter what your past held, you can overcome anything with determination and strength.  Both Evangeline and Hunter have painful pasts and experience with abuse.  Hunter’s having been in his childhood and Evangeline’s much more recent in her failed marriage.  I loved the strength Evangeline was able to draw from Hunter after she is able to open up and let him in.  Their journey from when they first meet to becoming much more was set at the perfect pace and was extremely real.  I appreciated that, especially reading what Evangeline experienced at the hands of her ex.  I also loved Hunter’s patience with Evangeline and how he let her set the pace at which their connection grew.  Oh, and when their connection grew? Holy moly it was HOT!

Overall this was a beautiful, sweet, sexy, romance with two amazing characters.  I can’t wait to dive into the previous books in the series and look forward to reading more of Ms. Valentine’s work!

Mr and Mrs by Alexia Riley…Blog Tour Stop & Author Interview

mr and mrs - blog tour

MM_Ecover_LoRes

Synopsis:

Welcome to Alexa Riley Promises. This series is dedicated to old romances. It’s tropes galore, with all of our usual over-the-top alphas and sweet cheesy goodness.

These short books will focus on traditional and classic tropes while sticking to the Alexa Riley code: no cheating and always with an HEA. That’s our Promise to you.

Mr and Mrs:

Phillip has been married to Molly for a year. He’s beyond obsessed with his new wife, to the point that he has to hold his true feelings back. If she knew how crazy he is for her, she might push him away.

Molly is feeling distance growing between them, and she’s worried she’s not enough. One night she walks in on Phillip, and it changes everything.

When Phillip discovers Molly was in an accident and now has amnesia, he’s going to do all he can to make her fall in love with him again. Holding nothing back this time.
Warning: It’s just as crazy as it sounds and just as over-the-top ridiculous. If you want to get silly with us and spend a little time away from reality, grab this one up!

Review:

As promised, Mr and Mrs delivers on everything you loved about old-school romances. I mean, we have a secret baby, amnesia, a big misunderstanding, and, last but not least, a bona fide happily ever after. It is unapologetically cheesy – my second favorite thing about Alexa Riley books. The first is the filthy talk in bed or wherever else Alexa Riley characters get it on.

Molly and Phillip have been married for one year, but Molly senses that something isn’t right. She takes off when THE BIG MISUNDERSTANDING happens and Phillip goes balls to the wall to find her and bring her back. Except there’s an accident and Molly has amnesia. Phillip vows to make her fall in love with him all over again and he won’t hold back how obsessed and crazy he is for her.

Everything else happened in a blur. When I came flying into the hospital making my demands, they’d tried to keep her from me. They were lucky she was in the hospital or I would have burned the motherfucker to the ground just to prove how serious I was about getting to her.

It didn’t take long before they got the point and attitudes started to change. I don’t like to push power and money around on people, but in this case I just couldn’t bring myself to care. There wasn’t a goddamn thing I wouldn’t have done in that moment to get to her.

This book was a blast and I loved every over-the-top and crazy minute of it. It was like an x-rated version of a soap opera come to life.

Interview:

Mr and Mrs was chock-full of romance tropes, the kind that people who don’t read the genre usually cite as examples of why they’re dismissive of romance novels and authors. Did you set out to make a statement with this book? Funnily enough, no. We’ve never set out to make a statement. It was more of a homage to all the old tropey books we loved and a fun way to be silly. This book was so much fun to write and an incredible way to pay respect to all the classics before us.

I love how you unabashedly embrace romance clichés. I guess that’s not really a question, I just wanted to get that out there. You’re adorable.

I haven’t read all of your books (yet), but those I have read are all first person POVs from both hero and heroine. Does one of you always write the female POV and vice versa? We use to be strictly one person writes one PoV and one person does the next. But as time has gone on we blend more. Normally Lea (Alexa) does the males and Mel (Riley) does the females. But we’ve found out after two years that we enjoy changing it up. And it’s fun to see if readers can feel our individual voices coming through each character.

Tell me about an upcoming project that you’re really excited about. We are really really really excited about a book we have planned for next year. We’ve been picked up by a publisher for this one so we are making it nice and thick (slow wink). Can’t wait for everyone to get all the details! But in upcoming news we have a LOT planned for books and signings this summer. Stay tuned!

Funnily enough, no. We’ve never set out to make a statement. It was more of a homage to all the old tropey books we loved and a fun way to be silly. This book was so much fun to write and an incredible way to pay respect to all the classics before us.

Worth it All by Claudia Connor…ARC Review

All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan…Blog Tour Stop & Review

ABOUT ALL CHAINED UP:
Some men come with a built-in warning label. Knox Callaghan is one of them. Danger radiates from every lean, muscled inch of him, and his deep blue eyes seem to see right through to Briar Davis’s most secret fantasies. But there’s one major problem: Briar is a nurse volunteering at the local prison, and Knox is an inmate who should be off-limits in every way.

Knox feels it too—a shocking animal magnetism that drives him to risk his own life to protect Briar’s. Paroled at last, he tries to resist her. She’s too innocent, too sweet, and she has no idea what Knox is capable of. But a single touch can lead to a kiss—and a taste . . . until the only crime is denying what feels so right . . .

My review:

All Chained Up is the first book in author Sophie Jordan’s Devil’s Rock series.  From the cover alone I was excited to read this book and it was a great read filled with heat, emotion, and action.  I loved it.

From the moment they met, Knox and Briar’s relationship was complicated.  He was a prisoner in the jail she was working in and even though she knew he was completely of limits and wouldn’t dream of acting on this unexpected and taboo attraction she felt for him, she couldn’t help herself from wondering what it would be like if they had met under different circumstances. Sure he was gruff, cold, and obviously dangerous, but there was something under his hard exterior that called to her…almost a kindness.  That kindness would show itself when Briar found herself in a life or death situation and Knox goes from inmate to hero.  That act gets him paroled and now, all those “what-ifs” become possibilities.  Would she ever see him again?  The better question is, what would she do if she did…

I love when an author has the ability to make me fall in love with a character who hardly even speaks for the first few chapters.  Know was one of those characters.  Ms. Jordan wrote him in such an amazing light and even though he clearly had done something bad in his past, I wanted redemption for him.  I wanted to know there was a heart in there somewhere.  Oh, and there is.  It takes him a little while to let it show but when he did, it was awesome.  I loved him and Briar together.  Talk about two opposites attracting!  But despite their differences, they meshed so well together and the heat and attraction between them is intense and smoking hot.  I will certainly never look at Cherry Garcia ice cream the same way again 😉

I am so excited to see where this series goes.  Ms. Jordan sets up for one helluva story in the next installment and I’m dying to know how it all plays out.

Thank you, Ms. Jordan, for an amazing read!

In less than three years, her firstbook, Once Upon A Wedding Night, a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Nominee for Best First Historical, hit book shelves. Her second novel, Too Wicked To Tame, released in March 2007 with a bang, landing on the USA Today Bestseller’s List.

My Review:

The Total Package is the first work of author Stephanie Evanovich that I’ve read and I gotta say, I loved it! So much so that I went onto Amazon and picked up her other two titles listed above.

This was a great story with a wonderful flow and characters I truly enjoyed.  Tyson is a hot mess in the beginning and works his sexy tush off to get better.  Better at his job.  Better at his health. Better at his entire being. It wasn’t an easy road and he took all the challenges with a sense of humility I really enjoyed.  Dani has also reinvented herself since her college years and is enjoying the rewards of her hard work…until she has to see Tyson again.  You see, their past was a bit of a touchy subject with them.  Those darn college years.  Tyson, because he always felt terrible about how things ended between them and for being a strung out jerk and Dani because, even though that last night left her with an incredible gift, Tyson had still been a donkey’s arse and she wouldn’t be forgetting it anytime soon.  The problem is, once they are back into each other’s daily lives, Tyson proves he’s changed and Dani’s resistance wears down.  That old spark is back with a vengeance and they both know they should take this second change as the gift it was.  But would their past threaten to ruin things just as it begins?

With so much to love about this book, it’s hard to know where to start. These two characters go through hell and back.  Emotions run high and feelings run deep.  I loved both Dani and Tyson from the start and was cheering on from the sidelines for them to get a happy ever after.  Together.  The push and pull and road to redemption for Tyson was a rough one but very needed.  He has no trouble rising to the challenge and, in a book world with a lot of jerks in it, he was a refreshing and positive character to read.  Dani was equally amazing at seeing her feelings for what they were, and keeping Tyson at arm’s length until he really proved he had changed.  Permanently.  For the good.  I was also a nervous wreck for them as there was a pretty big secret that needed to be revealed.  Luckily, Ms. Evanovich wrote one hell of an amazing ending that had me laughing and crying happy tears!

I also have to mention the secondary characters were equally awesome and a joy to read.  Oh, and living in the Philly suburbs, I loved where Dani grew up!

Thank you, Ms. Evanovich, for a fabulous read!
