Washed Up is a slow burn age gap medical romance that will have your heart racing as you turn the pages desperate for more. Early reviewers are calling it “addicting,” “gripping,” and “phenomenal!”
Washed Up is the first book in the The Bayside Heros series. They are all complete standalones written by different authors but main characters from each book are mentioned throughout the other books. While they can read in any order, I would recommend reading them in order (they all come out within a week of each other).
Washed Up is very sweet and swoony with a twinge of angst that Kandi is truly known for. If you have read her previos books, you will gobble this one up quickly. And for those who are knew to her writing, this is the perfect taste of what is in store with her other books.
Amanda is in the midst of a bitter divorce and attempting to restart her life. All her life, she was a stay-at-home-mom and is now going back to school to support herself. Her adult son is supporting her in every way.
Greg is an anesthiologist a local hospital and finally has his roots settled at the hospital but something still isn’t making him feel “at home”. Greg has learned to keep himself in a routine since his job is so stressful and the routine allows him to find a calm in his otherwise very chaotic job.
I truly enjoyed watching both Amanda and Greg grow and change in this story. I loved how they brough the best out in one another. The best was watching their friendship blossom – the perfect foundation to what was to come between them.
Kandi wrote another amazing story with great characters that readers can relate to in one way or another.
Meet Kandi
Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.
An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.
When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.
If Only in My Dreams by Carrie Aarons is now live!
‘Tis the season to … be freshly divorced at twenty-six and moving back into your parents’ house?
Because that’s my reality this Christmas. As if it isn’t bad enough that my entire hometown is buzzing with the news of my failed marriage, who is the first person I bump into at the grocery store? The guy who treated me like his personal booty call in high school just happens to be looking at spices while I’m trying to pick up cinnamon for my mother.
And get this; Porter Kelly, the broody, mysterious recluse who exposed his own secrets to the world by writing a book about his family years ago, is the one who acts like I wronged him. His rude remarks on aisle nine are the final straw as my exhausted unhappiness breaks, and I’m officially calling off the most wonderful time of the year.
Too bad it’s literally impossible for the woman whose parents own a railroad that specializes in Christmas train rides to ignore the holiday season. Because I’m back under their roof, it’s mandatory to work in the middle of the red and green merriment, Santa himself, and wait for it …
Porter serenading us with the greatest festive hits of all time. That’s right, apparently my teenage heartthrob turned nemesis not only works for my parents, but can strum a guitar like he’s trying to get every soccer mom on board pregnant. As we’re forced to spend more time together than ever, his past baggage and my marital rejection make their way to the surface, bonding us in ways neither of us knew possible.
I thought I was heartbroken about my ex-husband wanting to end our marriage, but that pain is nothing compared to what Porter could inflict. He seems like a changed man, one on the precipice of a new chapter, which is exactly where I find myself. Would it be crazy to think we could turn the page together?
Returning home was the only option I had. But as I come dangerously close to counting on the first man who broke my heart, I wonder if all of my future dreams are too good to be true.
Author of romance novels such as Fool Me Twice and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.
When she isn’t writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She’s a Jersey girl living in Texas with her husband, daughter, son, and Great Dane/Lab rescue.
If Only In My Dreams is a super sweet, holiday romance from Carrie Aarons.
The blurb gives you just enough to give an idea of what’s in store for readers. But the writing is what will capture readers and keep them engaged in this story.
I absolutely loved the pacing of this story. Carrie delivered not only a believable story but a very relatable one in so many ways.
Madison is back home after going through divorce and runs into the last person she ever expected.
Porter is quite the brooding male hero we all love. He’s got his own issues and unfortunately, Madison was always the recipient of his hot/cold persona throughout high school. And now that she’s back, it seems as much has changed except he’s everywhere because he’s also one of the nicest people to others. Just not Madison.
This book was an absolute joy to read. I loved so much about this book. It’s got a lot of spice, sweetness and heat mixed in with the holiday spirit. Another amazing book from Carrie Aarons.

This is a great introduction not only to this series, but to Tijan’s amazing talent. It honestly just gives you brief glimpse into her writing prowess and how she can easily pull readers into her stories.
I did not read the first book in this series and you don’t have to at all. Tijan gives you just enough to piece things together without taking away from the main characters in this story.
Jonah is one of four siblings in the Bennett family. And they are extremely tight; two have stayed in the family business and the other two have opted to say out of it.
Jonah is one of the two siblings who chose to stay out of the family business but he quickly realizes that just because you aren’t involved in it, doesn’t mean you can avoid all that surrounds their family business.
Tijan wrote a fabulous novella and was able to give the perfect depth to the story and characters, even for a novella. I loved every bit of this and will be going back to read the first book in this series.
About Tijan Tijan is a New York Times Bestselling author that writes suspenseful and unpredictable novels. Her characters are strong, intense, and gut-wrenchingly real with a little bit of sass on the side. Tijan began writing later in life and once she started, she was hooked. This whole day made me feel super prickly, but I still went with it. Unfortunately, I had no say in this, since I had lost a bet.
Then there was Trinity and my parents’ wrath to think about. And the fact Bear deserved a mother who didn’t look like she practiced the most ancient profession in the world.
Also, privately, I could admit I really, really liked the Anthropologie dresses.
“I think I’m starting to get a feel of what you’re into,” Cruz said when we got out of the store, which by the way, smelled like a new car and someone’s upscale bathroom.
I ignored his observation. I already felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman without being told I was on the cusp of self-discovery and inner transformation.
Next, we went to Free People, where I grabbed a few pairs of pants and some casual shirts and jackets. Then we went to a bohemian boutique, something small and not too pricey, and Cruz splurged on two pairs of sandals for me—both orthopedic but surprisingly not hideous—and a little purse that didn’t look like a tie-dyed squirrel.
I didn’t thank him one time during the entire shopping trip, careful to remind him that it was his idea, not mine.
Finally, around two in the afternoon, when I was ready for my lunch (more like in danger of eating my own arm), he stopped in front of Prada.
He jerked his chin inside. “Ladies first.”
“Are you crazy?” I glared at him. “I’m not really going to let you buy me anything from there.”
I knew I’d joked about it the other day, but I also joked about having Benicio del Toro’s babies, and I sure as heck was closed for business.
“It’s an outlet.”
“It’s outrageous,” I countered. “I don’t care how much money someone has, a five hundred dollar scarf is excessive.”
“Quality costs.”
“Say that to my Kmart shoes. They’ve been servin’ me well for three years and counting. Even when I work double shifts.” I was surprised my feet didn’t slap my face for lying.
“I try not to converse with inanimate objects as a general rule. Why do you even care? It’s my money. I get to decide what I want to spend it on.”
“Why would you want to spend it on a semi-stranger you don’t even like?”
“This semi-stranger I don’t even like is about to become my family. Besides, I’m a shitty tipper.”
We were blocking the entrance to Prada, but that was all right, because no one but us seemed irrational enough to wander in.
There was also a guard at the entrance. A flipping guard. It made me want to throw up. I would never, ever walk into a store where some people might not feel welcome.
People like my mom.
Or like me, for that matter.
“Ugh, don’t remind me.” I thumbed my nose at him, adamant to put up a fight. “I’d hate to be associated with you. You may ruin my reputation.”
“Your reputation’s in the shitter,” he reminded me kindly.
“Yeah, well, maybe it’ll find your kissing technique there, since it seems to be in the same destination. What the hell was that about yesterday?”
Classic aversion.
I was a master of misdirection.
“You enjoyed it,” he said calmly.
“Did not.”
“Did, too.”
Lord, I had.
And not only had I enjoyed it, but the fact that it had been sweet and intimate and not filthy and carnal had completely disarmed me. I still felt my pulse against my lips. Both pairs.

Bad Cruz was quite a different read for me from LJ Shen and I quite enjoyed this change of pace in her writing. Bad Cruz is a romantic comedy and Shen delivers the hilarity well.Tennessee (Messy Nessy to the town’s people) is quite an interesting and entertaining character. While she is strong in so many ways, her biggest weakness is her family. But there were also the only ones who were there for her when everyone else cast her out.Cruz Costello is the town’s golden boy; he was a like a celebrity to them. He left town, became a doctor and came back to take over his dad’s practice. He had an image to maintain and did everything he could to avoid tarnishing that image. When Cruz and Tennessee find themselves on the wrong cruise line, that’s when things get entertaining in so many ways. The banter, the scenes, and the mannerisms of these characters made this book so entertaining.I truly enjoyed these characters. Shen gave us a heroine that was relatable on many levels. And Cruz wasn’t exactly who he portrayed himself to be. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and watch them let their walls down with one another.Bad Cruz is a hilarious and sweet romance that moves at the perfect pace. While there were parts that I was not crazy about, overall, I enjoyed this book so much. Highly recommended read.

Yes, please do send the press kit etc. And the below excerpt is a little longer.
His eyes soften and he catches my hand. “Come here.” I let him ease me closer, and when he pulls me onto his lap again, I say, “Am I going to end up with my hands behind my back unable to touch you again?” “Not unless you want me to tie you up and tease you.” There’s no denying the idea of Dash in control and me at his mercy, is a delicious prospect I won’t even try to deny. And so, I don’t deny anything. Instead, my arms slide around his neck, and I lean into him. “Not this time, Dash. Please.” “Well now, as long as you say please, you can have just about anything you want.” With his promise that I can have anything I want if I say please, Dash’s hands slide under the T-shirt I’m wearing and up my back. Molding me close, my breasts pressed to his hard chest. “For instance,” he says, his voice low, a rough sandpaper tease on my nerve endings. “I’ll lick you anywhere you want to be licked if you just say please.” I’m really, truly a rather shy person and no one has ever spoken to me so boldly as Dash has this night, but I’m different with Dash I’m starting to realize. More comfortable in my own skin and sexuality. I just can’t find it in me to hide from this or him. “What about where I want to kiss you?” “Where do you want to kiss me?” he asks, squeezing my backside and Lord help me I can feel the thick ridge of his erection between my thighs and through his jeans I want to be gone now. “Everywhere,” I assure him. His lips curve and he says, “Is that right?” “Oh yes, but you resist me, Dash Black.” “I assure you, Allison, I am not resisting you.” Somehow him calling me Allison in this moment is more intimate than Allie, and I don’t know why. “I want nothing more than your hands and mouth on my body,” he says. “But you’ll have to allow me to kiss you everywhere first.” He drags the T-shirt over my head and by the time it’s on the ground his hands are on my breasts, and when my hands cover his hands, his finger strokes my nipples. My fingers catch long strands of his light brown hair and I tilt his gaze to mine. Any control I’d thought to gain in that moment is lost when Dash pinches my nipples, sending darts of pleasure straight to my sex. I moan and he captures the sound with his mouth, kissing me with the kind of passion that a girl thinks she will never know because it can’t be real. Oh, but it is. It so is. My hands tunnel into his hair and when his gaze lifts to mine, I find hunger there. So much hunger, and all for me. He catches my hands and presses them behind me, bracing them on his powerful thighs, his arm wrapping my waist, securing me. Watching me now, he cups my breast and leans in, licking my nipple, sensations rippling through me, my sex clenching with impossible need, need for him.
What If I Never is the first book in Lise Renee Jones’ newest trilogy, the Necklace Trilogy. It’s a romantic suspense and Lisa starts this trilogy off very well.
This book is an extreme slow burn. The pace of this book at times was good and at other times, it was a bit too slow for me. But this book is definitely all about building the suspense and each of the character’s part in this trilogy.
I really don’t want to say too much and give any plot points away accidentally. The blurb gives you all that you need to know going into this book. Lisa does a great job of building the suspense not just between each of the characters but as well with the plot.
There are a lot of secrets, a hefty amount of suspense and lots of steam going on within this book. Lisa delivers a great first book to start this trilogy off perfectly. She leaves us hanging at the end of this one but we thankfully are left dangling over the edge too long.

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Kristen Proby, comes Serendipity, the final installment in her gripping Bayou Magic series…
My sight is a gift and also a curse. It cost me the love of my life. We may have been young, but some things you don’t get over. Like being the cause of the biggest tragedy of your boyfriend’s life. It’s something I’ll never forget, and a reflection of who I am.
But now that Jackson’s back in town, with scars and a hero’s badge of honor, it’s time for me to be brave, too.
A malevolent evil hell-bent on making my sisters and me pay for rebuffing him is still stalking my family, and some ancient writings portended that the six were the only ones who could defeat him.
Jackson Pruitt and I round out that magical number, which means I have to face the evil and the things Jack makes me feel, to save my family and my city.
I never sought to reconnect with Jack. Working with him now means opening myself up to my feelings for him.
Refusing means destruction for us all.

Serendipity is the third and final book in Kristen Proby’s trilogy, Bayou Magic and she ends this series on a perfect note.
Each book focuses on a particular couple but there is an underlying plot that ties each book together so it’s best to read them in order. Serendipity centers around Daphne and her fated soul mate, Jackson and their story. And this story was very much worth the wait til the end.
The Bayou Magic series is story of three sisters who are witches and hold different powers in their own rights. I truly enjoyed the design of the paranormal and witchcraft that Proby brings into this story (and series). You can definitely tell that Proby did plenty of research for this series and shows a unique side to witches.
Proby wrote this book perfectly to not only tie everything together, but also tell Daphne and Jackson’s love story. These three sisters (and their fated) have been through so much but it’s when they are together, that they are strongest. Daphne’s story was quite unique and I enjoyed seeing everything coming together, but also watching Daphne and Jackson’s story play out right alongside everything.
Serendipity ended the Bayou Magic Trilogy perfectly and I enjoyed every bit of it. I am looking forward to more PNR books from Proby in the future.
Meet Kristen
Kristen Proby has published more than forty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion and Romancing Manhattan Series.
Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two cats.
Only One Regret is the fifth book in Natasha Madison’s Only One series but can easily be read as a standalone. I have not read any of the books in this series and was able to read this one with ease.
Erika and Cooper have been best friends for over 8 years. He was her first huge client and as his agent, he respected and loved her for everything she’s been able to help him achieve. Until one night, things get a bit blurred unintentionally.
I enjoyed watching Erika and Cooper’s story go from one of friendship to more. Natasha blended the sport aspect of this with the romance perfectly. The flow of this story was perfect; nothing happened too fast nor did things move too slow. I loved seeing how deep their friendship went and how easily it just became more. While it does complicate things, I love how all of it was handled.
Only One Regret is an uplifting romance story with very little drama and a lot of smiles. And there is a lot of steamy and hot scenes once they got together (sometimes felt too much) so be prepared to sweat through those. LOL
Natasha brings her readers another great romance story. I’m excited for the next book in this series.
Meet Natasha Madison
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
Finally free from her controlling ex-boyfriend, she’s not looking to date someone new, even though all of her friends are encouraging her to do exactly that. One in particular believes she’s found the perfect guy for Amelia. So she sets her up on a blind date.
At a wedding.
Amelia has no idea the guy she bumped into at her friend’s Christmas tree farm is the same one she’s been set up with at a wedding reception. Isaac Jones is a nice guy. A good looking guy. A much younger guy. No way could they be compatible – they have nothing in common.
The more time Amelia spends with Isaac though, the more she realizes he just might be perfect for her. He makes her laugh. He’s a complete gentleman. And they’re definitely compatible between the sheets…
But is he only the rebound guy? Or can they actually make this newfound romance work?

Blind Date is set during the holiday season and while I normally don’t read too many books like this so early, I couldn’t pass up on this one as I enjoy Monica Murphy’s writing.
The blurb pretty much tells you all need to know. Amelia and Isaac have an interesting first unintentional meet up and things only get more interesting from there. Amelia struggles to trust another man after her last relationship and Isaac is still trying to find his niche in the world.
I thoroughly enjoyed how Monica allowed this story play out and the characters came across as so genuine. Everything felt so real and authentic that it just made the story all the more relatable.
Blind Date is the perfect, sweet and quick read for romance readers. Add in the holiday setting that just always puts people in better spirits and readers will fall in love with everything.

“What do you want from me? Do you want my forgiveness? Do you want me?”
His face contorts, the pain of my words evident in his expression, and his hand engulfs mine. He squeezes and tugs me toward him, causing me to fall into him. Then his arm circles my waist, and he lifts my chin so that I have no choice but to stare into his devilishly gorgeous eyes. “I want everything. Don’t you know that by now? Your lips, your body, your heart, your soul—and I don’t deserve any of it. But as hard as I’ve tried to stay away from you, I’m just a foolish, selfish man who is completely and utterly spellbound by an enchantress who deserves so much better.”
I suck in a breath, my heart thumping manically. Before I have a chance to regain any sense of composure, his lips are on mine, his groan filling the cave of my mouth and vibrating through my body. At this moment, nothing else matters. I can forget it all. Then he picks me up, wraps my legs around his waist, and walks me toward the lifeguard tower.

Jack Dryden-Jones is easily the worst rugby player on the field—when he moves to The States to follow in his brothers footsteps, he has no idea how he’d hate the game. He’s so horrible he considers faking an injury to take himself out of the game.
Jack is a quick-witted, comic book loving gentleman—not an athlete.
DO NOT DATE YOUR ROOMMATES CRUSH.
When her roommate brings home a random stranger, Eliza is shocked when he makes himself at home; he’s strapping, strong and watching a movie at the end of her couch as if he belongs there.
It makes her uncomfortable in the best way possible.
But if there is one thing she believes in, it’s GIRL CODE: No girl may date her friend’s ex, past crush, or guys who have humiliated/used her. And she most certainly may not date any guy her friend currently fancies…
DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Jack and Eliza are two of the good ones—it’s going to take a miracle to keep them apart.
Jock Reign is Ney’s 5th book in Jock Hard series. I absolutely adore this series and Ney’s writing. I can see her quirky side come through and find it refreshing it.
The blurb truly gives you all to need to know about this book. But what makes it endearing, is all the interactions between Jack and Eliza. These two were made perfect for one another. I love their banter and how one was always able to one-up the other.
Jock Reign is a nice slow-burn romance, as it should be for college kids. There isn’t any huge spark between but rather a gradual progression towards things. Jack was quite the surprise and I loved his character so much. Same with Eliza – I wish I had more confidence like her when I was in college. I could have seen myself being really good friends with her.
I digress. Jock Reign is another great college romance story that is sure to make readers laugh, smile and enjoy the sweet romance.
