I ache to be touched … to feel wanted. His fingers reach mid-thigh, and I close my eyes. His fingertips circle my upper thigh, slowly inching my skirt up. Desire radiates. He caresses everywhere but there as I bite down on my lower lip to stifle a moan.
I’m pathetic. I imagine him touching me there. I imagine pulsing around his fingers. I imagine pulsing around him.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks, breaking me from my erotic dream.
The truth will come with consequences. He won’t let me forget my next word.
“You,” I breathe, still feeling the physical effects of his touch.
His finger slides along my panties. “Do you want me to touch you here? I’d fuck you for hours, beautiful, and when I was done, no one else would ever be enough.”
“River,” I moan, his finger tracing the line of lace.
“I’d show you heaven and hell all in one night. Is that what you want, Marley? Do you want me to fuck you?”
I grip the door handle like it’s my lifeline, unable to speak. Instead, I open my eyes and stare at his profile. There’s so much I don’t know about River, but for some damn reason I need him.
He’s a magnet.

My Review:

Daring Her Love is a novella in author Melissa Foster’s Braden Series as well as story number 18 in the 2015 1,001 Dark Nights line-up. Here’s where I admit that this is the very first work by Melissa Foster that I’ve read and here’s where I also admit that I went and bought the entire back list after devouring this book. Ms. Foster knocked my socks off!

Kat is moving forward. She’s leave her old life behind and is on her way to a fresh start. A start without a new guy every few weeks. A new town, new state, new start, new Kat. She’s about to start with all of those new philosophies until she meets the sexy and smooth talking guy at the bar while waiting for her flight. The flight taking her to the fresh beginning. She knows she shouldn’t but she can’t help be tempted by this man and his sexy swagger. One more quick fling couldn’t hurt, right? Or could it…

Eric could use a distraction and the woman sitting at the bar giving him the sultry once-over seems to be just what the doctor ordered. Even better is that she doesn’t seem to be recognizing him from his fame in the racing circuit. It was refreshing to have someone being attracted to him for him, and not his fame and money. Just one taste is all he’d need….but he will soon realize he was dead wrong.

What happened when karma intervenes and takes what Kat and Eric thinks is a one night fling and turns it into more than they ever thought possible?

I have two words for you: Smoking. Hot. This story started out with one hell of a heated bang (heh, quite literally!) and just got better and better. The attraction between Kat and Eric was fast and hot and I loved it but what I loved even more was when a monkey wrench was thrown into their plan of making it a one night thing. I loved when they realized they would in no way, shape, or form be able to stay away from one another. I loved that they tried hard to fight it but had no choice but to give in. These two characters were so well written and multi-faceted and I enjoyed them tremendously. They have both been burned in the past and aren’t looking to rush into things but are willing to give what they’ve found a chance.

Another aspect Ms. Foster added into this story was a bit of hidden history Kat and Eric shared that they didn’t realize right away but when they did? Magic. It really cemented the universe’s plan in getting these two to admit their connection is one to keep and cherish.

It bears repeating that Ms. Foster knocked my socks off and gained a new fan in this blogger! I can’t wait to start from the very beginning and meet the whole Braden clan!

I love Rage (AJ) and this book. This is probably my favorite book in this series so far.

Rage is slightly different than the rest of the books in this series in that in really focuses more on the love of a child and his AJ’s ability to form a strong bond with her regardless of what his peers think of him.

AJ (Rage) is a major league baseball player and earned the nickname Rage because of his extreme outbursts and inability to keep himself in check (on or off the field). However, he has learned to control and focus that energy in a more positive way thanks to his coach, Mr. Lara.

Addison is coach Lara’s daughter and her daughter, Clair, is a huge baseball fanatic and smart beyond her years. She also has the same love of stats as her mom, so she is always going with her grandfather to all of the games. She also happens to be AJ’s biggest fan and these two form one hell of a bond.

Due to the closeness of not only Clair and AJ, but also the way AJ looks up to coach Lara, it’s inevitable that AJ and Addison would eventually meet. Their first interaction isn’t one that I would say went smoothly either. But as time moves on, things become better and also get more complicated, for many, many reasons.

I won’t give any more of the plot away. This book is full love, devotion, heartache, deceit and determination. You will feel everything that both AJ and Addison feel. You will understand AJ’s rage and you can totally picture him when he is flying off the handle, regardless if you agree with him or not. You can sense Addison’s apprehension to a certain point, only because we don’t know exactly what all she has going on.

AJ and Addison will both infuriate you and also make you want to root for them. These two are very passionate people and they do no hold back anything. Elizabeth does an amazing job of writing two extremely strong characters. Yes, they have their flaws, but that’s what makes them so much more real and honest.

As I said earlier, this is probably my favorite book in this series. I cried, laughed, rooted on fights, and even felt like punching things all while reading this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I love when I feel so much in one book.

My Review:

Easton’s Everything is book six in author Amy Gregory’s Finding Perfect Series, a series I have really enjoyed reading. This story was no exception and follows Jessica and Easton’s push and pull relationship that I adored reading.

Having been left adrift without anyone to rely on but herself, Jessica Pierce was once again uprooted. Now. she was on a ranch, helping the family who owned it, and finally feeling a part of things. Almost a part of the family itself. Of course, she always had a nagging feeling that the other shoe would drop…enter Easton. The sexy veterinarian son of the owner’s and now the constant thorn in her side. Funny, though, how sometimes the person you bicker with is the person you turn out to be closest to…

I loved this story. The push and pull between Jessica and Easton starts off almost immediately and, like a grade school crush where the boy pulls the girl’s pigtails, was a fun banter. Of course, underneath the banter was an undeniable attraction that grew wonderfully over the course of the story. Jessica is one tough cookie and I admired her determination and tenacity when it comes to life and succeeding. Easton is beyond loving and local when it comes to his family and with his animal clients. Together, even though they start off on somewhat of a bad foot, they realize they have a lot more in common then they imagined and things just grow from there. I also loved how they really came together in the face of an illness that befalls Easton’s mother. Truly, a wonderfully well-rounded story!

Easton closed in on her, effectively trapping her between the truck and the open door. He’d meant to intimidate her into speaking, instead he was encircled by the scents of her shampoo and soap, both floral and light. Very feminine, despite the hard work of being a farm hand. Her eyes dilated rapidly before she glanced toward the dessert and away from him.

“Can you please back the hell up?”

“I want to know what you’re not telling me.”

“If you’re so damned concerned, why don’t you ask your father? Better yet, go ask your mother. It’s not my place to say a fucking word, Easton Montgomery. Now stop putting me in the middle, get the hell out of my personal space and quit acting like some macho tough ass who thinks I’m some little lady he can boss around. Never gonna happen.”

“What’s never gonna happen?” He tipped his head. She sucked in a quick rush of air, loud enough for him to read her mind. English was his first language obviously. Sign language, though he was learning, he was far from fluent. But body language—he was a self-professed expert. She hadn’t meant for the last three words to slip from her mouth.

Easton leaned in, “For the record, you’re as gorgeous as you think you are.” She attempted to spin away, but the confined space kept her facing him.

“Unlike you…I don’t think I’m gorgeous, Mr. God’s Gift to Women.”

“Are you saying, you think I’m an egotistical, arrogant ass with a black book for late night booty calls?”

“What’s Mom doing?” He tried to pull his thoughts away from the erotic pictures building in his head.

“She’s sitting at the kitchen table writing recipes down for me. Ones she says are in her head. There, are you satisfied, yet?”

The little head jerk she gave to accentuate her point nearly did him in. Easton smirked, holding onto every fiber of not only his temper, but his desire. “Not nearly, darling.”

“I’m not your darling. I’m not your honey, sweetheart, doll face—your nothing. Not now, not ever. I’m here for your mom, your dad and more importantly, Roscoe. If it wasn’t for the fact that in a very short time, I’ve grown to really like your parents and I need a place for my horse—you’d be eating gravel about now.”

Her skin was tinged with the most beautiful shade of pink. Her blue eyes had darkened and her pulse had spiked. Easton knew she was bluffing with every bold-faced lie she spoke. He lifted his chin, daring her to continue. She opened her mouth, he lifted his brow…waiting. She narrowed her eyes at him and clamped her mouth shut.

Meet Lorenzo

Walking smack into a wall jolted her instantly out of her thoughts. The moment she realized the solid wall was actually a man’s chest was mortifying enough, but when her eyes met Lorenzo’s uncompromising expression, her legs went weak.

“I’m sorry,” she said, feeling her face go hot, and pulled her hand away from his chest where it’d flown in reflex.

She was caught in his intense eyes as she had been earlier. Like she had been so many times the night she met him. But it was only momentarily.

“Don’t be,” he said, glancing away quickly, and if she weren’t mistaken, he seemed a bit panicked. Maybe his wife or fiancée was here. “I wasn’t paying attention either.”

They stood there in heavy silence for a few awkward seconds until she finally smiled and shrugged. “Small world, huh?”

The miniscule nod said he agreed, but his vacant expression now bordered on hard. His eyes lowered, and she gulped when she realized he was staring at her lips. He licked his lips as the memory of his kisses inundated her. Is that what he was thinking of too? She stared at his lips as she felt his face lean in a little closer to hers and froze when she could actually feel his warm breath so close to her lips. Just when she’d been certain he was going to kiss her, he froze too and their eyes met again. “Too small maybe.”

Ouch.

“I can assure you,” he went on as he pulled back suddenly, “if I’d known you’d be here . . .” He glanced away with a frown without finishing then tipped the edge of his hat with a painfully forced smile. “My apologies for running into you,” he said tersely. “Have a good day.”
