I loved everything about this book from the storyline, to the banter, to the characters. Reese, Paisley, and Bellini are the main characters in this story but the secondary characters add just as much humor and insight that everything is rounded out so perfectly and leaves wanting to know more about each of them in their own books (hint hint).

Reese is the star Olympian swimmer who is dating Bellini, a reality star bitch. Paisley is hired on their personal assistant. Let me tell you – I don’t think I have ever loathed and despised a characters so early in a book and only had that hatred grow. Bellini had me wanting to punch her every time she opened her mouth. But that’s what I love about Meghan’s writing – she is always able to yank such a strong feelings out of me with her characters. I absolutely loved Reese – he was such a sweetheart and had me melting every time he walked into a room. Not just because of his looks (holy hot!) but because he puts himself out there for Paisley. Paisley – I love her! She’s a strong woman and knows how to not only handle herself, but handle others around her. She’s amazing!!

Meghan wrote this story flawlessly. I loved how she allowed everything to play out naturally. Reese holds nothing back and Paisley stays true to herself. They are both open and honest with each other – this keeps things from getting ugly with assumptions and not talking them out. The back and forth between Reese and Paisley was awesome. I loved how they both dished it out to each other. It just added to their attraction to one another.

Meghan has another hit series on her hand! I can’t wait to see which character gets a book next. I am very intrigued to see what happens with Bodi, Hollisand Melony. I have come to really enjoy this characters as well.

For a moment Connor just examines my face in silence. There’s a strange tension in him, a stillness, like a held breath but in his entire body. Then he abruptly swings around in his seat so he’s facing me, his massive thighs on either side of my bar stool, his booted feet planted on the floor.

My Review:

Into the Blue is the second book in author Chanel Cleeton’s Wild Aces series and after falling in love with this group of fly boys in the first book, I was so excited to get my hands on this second installment.

I love a good second chance romance and having met Becca and Eric (Thor) in the first book I had no doubt their story was going to be sexy and full of high emotion. Well, Ms. Cleeton didn’t disappoint! After a pretty messy ending to their relationship it’s easy to imagine this was going to be a delicious and intense read and was it ever. The chemistry between Becca and Eric is crazy hot and I just loved reading them. I was glued to each page and was so sad when I realized I had read it so quickly.

I also loved getting to see more of the entire cast of characters I have grown to love. Of course, this just leaves me in more anticipation of the next book, On Broken Wings. I have a feeling I will need to order an entire case of tissues for that one and I can’t freaking WAIT!

My Review:

Filthy English is the second book in author Ilsa Madden-Mills’ English series and after reading the first book, Dirty English, I was dying to read this twin’s story. I mean who can resist sexy British twins? Not this girl!

This is the most recent in a bunch of second chance romances I’ve read and I have to say, this one was freaking fantastic. There is just something special about how this author writes her characters and from the very beginning when a jilted Remi falls into the lap of her ex-quickie-flame Dax, I was hooked. The chemistry between these two was scorching and jumped off of the pages. The banter between them was done so well and I loved the verbal foreplay. There was even a bit of humor, which added a nice layer to the story as a whole. I just loved reading these two and watching their relationship evolve from a not so great past into something pretty damn special.

One of his hands traced down my spine and then up. He outlined my shoulder blades with his fingertips. His hands drifted to my hips then caressed back up to my hair, massaging my scalp.

But what had started as an innocent hug changed.

Fire licked my skin everywhere he touched. Of their own accord, my hands slid down to his waist and teased the line where his jeans rested on his hips. I went further, my fingers toying with the V at his hip until I felt him harden against me.

Lips brushed the top of my hair. “Remi . . . look at me,” he said, his voice raspy.

I love how this book starts off – getting right into it and not holding back. Cam and Makayla couldn’t be any more different if they tired. However they are both learning to find themselves again.

The chemistry between Cam and Makayla is immediate once they let their walls down. They are drawn to one other but also have this push and pull dynamic. I love their interactions and how they keep each other on their toes. One thing that never pushes them apart is their honesty between one another.

This story is very light and not too angsty. However, it is full of hot, steamy sex!! And not just between Cam and Makayla. Kim definitely delivered a quick paced and heart warming read with the just right amount of hotness added in!

A highly recommended summer read!

Then 13 years later, these two come crashing back together. They have a lot to work through. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions. What I absolutely enjoyed most about this book was how open and honest Rori and Kray were with each other once they reconnected. Their true connection never died.

Kathy’s writing always sucks you into her stories. Makes you feel what her characters are going through and The Drifter is no different. My only issue was sometimes I felt myself skimming parts because they felt insignificant, but nothing ever took away from the story.

Overall, another smashing hit for Kathy! She’s always been able to captivate me and keep me glued to the pages.

“You in there or what?” Josh nudges me with his hip. His finger rises up to tap me on my temple, startling me out of my slumber. I stumble forward, damn near tripping over a guitar case that’s sitting on the edge of the sidewalk. I should be paying attention to where I’m going. There are many people here singing and offering up some sort of trick for money up and down this strip. Only the ones who can carry a tune catch my wandering eye for more than a second. Not that they all don’t deserve my attention, but the people who sing have a raw, natural talent. I become lost in their voices. Attuned. Familiar. There’s no sweet, tender, or rough and seductive voice close by. Therefore, whoever owns this particular case isn’t singing, or otherwise I may have pulled Josh to a sudden stop to listen before tumbling over it like an idiot. “Shit. Sorry about that,” I tell the man I notice standing up against the brick wall without looking at him. This is what I get for thinking about things I shouldn’t. “It was my fault,” Josh comments as we both bend down to shove the few dollar bills that fell out back into the case. The man behind us just mumbles something incoherent. I instantly feel worse for some reason. He’s worked hard for this money. In the heat no less. And here I am, scrounging around to make sure I gather it all up while assholes walk around me not giving a shit there are two people squatted down on the sidewalk. They just step around us, not bothering to offer help. Insensitive assholes. I reach into my purse and toss a hundred-dollar bill inside the case. I know most of these people spend their money on booze and drugs. I don’t care. Well, I do, really. They should be using it wisely. But who am I to judge? I only wish I could have heard him sing before we walk away. The talent they have is remarkable. It’s sad, really, how I enjoy listening to them sing on these streets for food, a home, or more than likely a fix of alcohol or drugs. I can’t help it; those voices carry me away. Some of them are truly mesmerizing. Wasted talent on a dirty street. I’m sure some are runaways with dreams shattered and hopes burned. This is the only way they know how to survive. The Hollywood record producers should listen to some of these talented people instead of shoving their lying butts into the faces of the fake boob Barbie to either get in her pants or rake her back over hot coals, sucking as much money out of her as they can. If only the rich would seek out the poor. To lend a hand to those who only think life has fed them nothing but shit. For these people to see that no matter how bad your life has been, if given the chance or a choice, you can become whoever you want to be, even if you’re alone doing it. I turn to the man whose face is darkened by the way he stands. His face is completely out of my sight with his chin tugged down to where it’s almost touching his chest. One black, shiny-booted foot rests up against the wall. His jeans hang low. He’s wearing a faded gray t-shirt that, if I’m correct, was black at one time. It also looks way too small, because my god, is it tight across his massive chest. He has shoulders any woman would love to reach around and grab as he lies on top of her. I’d give anything to see his face. To hear him sing. To observe and dissect his talent.
