The Boudreaux Series—Sexy. Intriguing. Easy.

No one said change was easy…

Savannah Boudreaux knows what it is to hurt. To bleed. To move on. To live life to the fullest. With five brothers and sisters and a loving mother as her constant source of strength during the pain and the healing, Van realizes there is little else she needs.

But some things never change…

Benjamin Preston sat on the sidelines of the Boudreaux family for years, in love with a woman he couldn’t have. As the best friend of the Boudreaux brothers since childhood, Ben has seen both tragedies and joys in the family. And as a former MMA fighter and KravMaga expert, Ben’s used to fighting for what he wants—and winning. His hands were tied when Savannah married her high school sweetheart not long after graduation, but now two years have passed since Ben found Savannah broken in her own home.

Sometimes what you need most has been right in front of you the whole time…

Van’s convinced that happiness isn’t in the cards for her, no matter how right it feels to be in Ben’s strong arms—and his bed. Ben is determined to win her heart and fight for her trust. I adore and I mean just adore Kristen Proby’s Boudreaux series. Why? Let me start with the obvious…the leading men are hands down amazing not only to read but dare I say dream about (sorry hubby…love you the most still). What I admire the most in Kristen is her ability to write a romance with more substance to it. It is not always about picture perfect love. Her female characters are strong women. Women who find the best in themselves and fight for not only those they love but most importantly themselves. I love that each one of the books in the series never left me bored or fighting to read the next page.

Kristen Proby deserves a standing ovation on ending the series with just the right couple, Ben and Savannah.

http://gph.is/1Re8ET5

Savannah has a horrific ex-husband that battered her and destroyed the person she once was. However, she finds the strength to not let her past define who she is. Kristen writes her in such a beautiful way that you find yourself wanting the strength that Savannah has. Savannah never is a victim in the story. She is a girl who is badass and growing from her painful past. Yes, I felt her pain and suffering but most of all I felt her strength and pride when she rose above it.

Now let’s not forget that Ben ladies. A hot, pierced, tattoo and protective man. Loved every single ink that was used on his character! Ben is patient and understanding but willing to fight for Savannah when she needs it. He will be your new book boyfriend ladies! He will capture your heart and squeeze it! What a perfect character to write about in the last book!

Easy Nights is just the icing on top of the Boudreaux Series. Yes, it can be read as a standalone but do yourself a favor and invest in all the books.

Porter by Georgia Cates….Release Day Blitz & Review

Title: Porter
A Men of Lovibond Series Standalone
Author: Georgia Cates
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 4, 2017

Blurb
My
employee’s daughter. The tomboy. The kid who once did odd jobs around the
brewery. That’s all she was… until three years passed and she walked into my
office for an interview.
Frankee
Dawson is no longer that girl I once called Kiddo. She’s grown into a
beautiful, sexy, desirable woman. Very desirable. And that’s a problem. She’s
my employee’s daughter. Lovibond family. And too young for me. Too innocent.

I want to
feel her respond to my kiss.
I want her
body to tremble as she anticipates my touch.
I want to
learn all the places that bring her pleasure.
But mostly
I want her to know that she’s never truly been loved by a man until me.

Frankee is
my intern and under me for the summer. Literally. It’s a difficult secret to
maintain when you can’t keep your hands off each other.

This was
supposed to be a hot summer fling. Sex and fun without commitment—that’s what
we called it. But we were wrong. This is more. I’ve never felt this way about a
woman. Never cared more about someone else’s happiness more than my own.

I love her
and I’m happy. So damn happy… until a terrible mistake from my past springs
forward and threatens to rip us apart.
There are a
million reasons for her to leave me. And trust me, she should. But all I really
need is one good reason for her to stay.

I have loved this series so much. I am truly sad that it has come to an end. And Georgia ended this series perfectly with Porter.

Frankee gets hired as the new graphic designer intern at Lovibond. But she’s not new to the brewery. Her father was hired there when it opened and she found herself helping out here and there and also crushing on her dad’s boss Porter.

When Frankee comes into Porter’s office, he can’t believe how much Frankee has grown in the last 5 years. She has grown in a beautiful and intelligent woman that he can’t seem to get out his head.

It doesn’t long for Frankee and Porter to give in to their attraction. However, they have to keep a secret not only because it’s boss and intern but because they don’t want her dad finding out. They agree to a summer fling since she is moving in the fall and well, Porter has never had a long term relationship at all. Sounds like the perfect set-up, right!? These two are just too great together and they soon realize that not too far into their agreement. Will Porter be able to let Frankee move? Will Frankee’s father be ok with these two dating, especially given Porter’s past? What will the other employees think?

Georgia definitely ended this series on a high note. She gave us more spice and sexiness in this book – Porter and Frankee went at little damn bunnies in heat!! And I loved it!! And the added clusterfuck was perfect – it was very entertaining to watch play out. While a part of me wanted to see how the “clusterfuck” handed the results, it didn’t hurt the book overall.

Great ending to an amazing series!!!

Excerpt
Unedited
and subject to change.
Frankee and
I stayed up until three in the morning. I couldn’t keep my hands off of her.
Not when she was wearing that sexy-as-fuck lingerie.
I’ve never
seen anyone wear anything like that. Sure, I’ve watched porn and seen it on
those women, but never on a real-life woman. And never one in my bed.
Frankee is
like my very own porno princess.
I gave her six orgasms last night—one an hour.
I’ve never done that before. Not that I don’t have the ability. I’ve just never
been inclined to.
“Frankee.”
She doesn’t
stir. Not even a little. I shake her shoulder this time. “Frankee. Wake up,
baby. I have to go.”
She rolls
to her back and slowly opens her eyes. “Someone fucked me into next week.
You’ll have to check back with me when it comes around to see if I can wake
up.”
“You don’t
have to get up, but I do have to go.”
“No. Don’t
go. Staaaay.” She has no idea how badly I want to.
At some
point during the night, Frankee washed off her makeup, and I’m seeing her for
the first time without cosmetics. It’s confirmed. She’s a natural beauty and
doesn’t need that garbage on her face.
“I wish I
could stay in this bed with you all day, but I promised Stout I’d help him move
his stuff to his new house today. I was supposed to be there already, but I
couldn’t bear to leave when you looked so beautiful in my bed.”
I already
know he’s going to give me shit for being late.
“Wait a
minute… before you go.”
Frankee
dashes to the bathroom, still wearing her porno princess attire from last
night. That is one convenient getup. I hope she has more of those.
She returns
from the bathroom with her hair twisted into a topknot. I don’t know what it is
that makes that so damn sexy.
She wraps
her arms around my shoulders and lowers herself to straddle me on the bed.
“Kiss me before you go.”
Her mouth
is minty. And hungry, based on the way she devours my mouth and neck. “Is this
your plan for tempting me to stay?”
Her hands
are working to undo the button and zipper on my jeans. “No. This is.”

Enrage by Rachel Van Dyken…Blog Tour & Review

SBPRBanner-Enrage-BT

Enrage, an all-new sexy standalone from #1 New York Times Bestseller Rachel Van Dyken is available NOW!!

Enrage_ebook_HiRes 9.02.25 AM

Enrage by Rachel Van Dyken
Release Date: July 31st

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Enrage is the next standalone in the international best selling mafia series, Eagle Elite.

Part of a world I loathe.

Part of a family who hates me more than I hate myself.

Living with a girl who reminds me of my darkness.

I’m. In. Hell.

Also known as the Cosa Nostra.

My life was over the minute I stepped off that plane.

Son to a murdered mob boss.

Heir to a throne of murder and lies.

My name is Dante Nicolasi.

And there will be blood.

Well I sure as shit wasn’t expecting that ending, but it is Rachel Van Dyken. She is always able to throw me through a loop with one thing or another in her books.

“Loyalty. Family. Honor. Independence. Class. Blood.”

“Blood In. No Out.”

Where oh where do I start this review?!? Dante was raised knowing what his family was but never having to deal with any of it. That is until his father was killed and he was thrust into the world he never wanted any part of. El wasn’t given a choice when her husband was killed by the very people she is now living with.

The only thing that Dante and El have in common is not wanting to be living in the place they currently reside, with the Italian Mafia. But neither really had another viable option if they wanted to live. While Dante is being trained to become the heir to his family’s throne, El is just trying to stay hidden and out of the way. What neither expected was for the other to be the light in their darkness. I won’t give away any tidbits or details, but I will tell you that there is one hell of a twist that I did not see coming and had my mouth falling open at the end.

I don’t know how Rachel does it, but every book in this series is just as brilliant as the previous ones and has me on the edge of my seat the whole. She gets me vested in new characters and has me itching to know how everyone else is doing. I love it!!

This is one mafia series that everyone needs to read. Rachel really knows how to keep things new and exciting and not once, repeat a previous plot line (or even a sex scene!). And I love that I get so damn into this series all over again when I read a new book. It’s like a family reunion every time!

Excerpt:

Dante slammed his hand into the tree, his jaw popped as he gritted his teeth together and then calm washed over him as he whispered near my ear, “Want me to kill him?”

A few people walked by and stared at us, it looked like he was kissing my neck, like we were normal college students sharing a moment.

Nope. Wrong story, kiddos.

He just offered to kill someone for offending me, run along, nothing to see here.

“After,” I said. “Kill him after he stops being useful to you, to the bosses.” I couldn’t believe what was coming out of my mouth, what I was agreeing to. “Yes.”

Dante pulled back, his face broke out into a smile. “How messed up is it that I’m actually looking forward to that moment?”

I gulped. “It’s in your blood.”

“I wish it wasn’t,” he said gruffly. “I wish I didn’t crave it — dream about it — almost as much as I wish I didn’t feel guilt every day because of it.”

I sighed and put my hands on his chest, then ran them up around his neck, he didn’t move, or flinch, so maybe we were having a moment as our mouths almost touched. “The only shame in life, is not being who you were truly born to be. If that means you kill the bad guys — kill the bad, guys Dante. Just don’t lose your soul in the process.”

“And if it’s already gone?” He croaked his eyes darkening as he slowly leaned in until his forehead touched mine.

Days ago I would have been terrified that his body was this close.

Days ago, I would have shoved him away and run.

Days ago, I would have shuddered that his bloodstained hands were running up and down my skin.

But today.

Today was different.

Today I closed my eyes and drank in the wicked scent of Dante Nicolasi, the cologne mixed with soap. I inhaled.

And opened my eyes again.

Yesterday I was angry. I was afraid.

Today. Against the tree.

Pinned by Dante’s arms.

I was safe.

“I’ll help you find it,” I whispered.

“Just don’t damn yourself in the process, El.” He cupped my face with his right hand, his eyes fell to my mouth, his half-lidded seductive look could stop a girl dead in her tracks.

The wives always talked about how attractive his father was, even at an older age.

Almost like he’d aged backward.

Dante was no different.

If it was possible for a human to get more attractive by the day — he’d be the one to prove you right.

“Are you going to kiss me again?” I asked hopefully.

“No.” He pulled away.

My heart sank into my stomach.

“Because I don’t want to start something I have no intention of stopping.”

My head jerked, our eyes locked, and I saw it. The honesty.

“Told you I’d never lie to you, El.” His voice had a warning edge to it, like I shouldn’t push him, push whatever invisible boundaries he’d mentally set up between us. His eyes never left mine.

And I knew, this was what he looked like when he was telling the truth.

His eyes pierced through my defenses in an unapologetic search for my heart, my soul.

And I let them.

“We should get to class.” I finally found my voice and started walking, he fell into step beside me.

And I spent the rest of the day thinking about the non-kiss.

And the promise that came with it.

Crossing The Line Excerpt

Her pulse kicked in a burst of realization. “You’re going to be my point of contact for the whole four weeks?”

Looked like she’d unknowingly managed to piss off karma after all. But come on. She needed a blockbuster, not a ballbuster. She had to be stuck with the cockiest Cross of the bunch?

That unsettling smirk worked its way back over Eli’s mouth. “Yes, ma’am.”

Greeeaaat. “Scarlett,” she said. “And I’m not going to keel over from heat exhaustion.” She was hardly a delicate freaking flower.

Eli lifted one shoulder halfway before letting it drop. “That’s what everyone says right up till they do it. But just because you don’t plan on something doesn’t mean it isn’t gonna jump up and bite you on the . . .”

“Ass?” Scarlett supplied, filling in the obvious blank from where Eli had abruptly trailed off. No, really? They didn’t even swear all the way out here in God’s country? Fuck, she was hosed.

Chagrin flickered over his sun-bronzed face, there and then gone. “Yes, ma’am.”

“Scarlett,” she reminded him, pulling a breath full of hot air into her already tight chest. Story. Story. You’re here for a story. “Okay. Any other house rules I should know about?”

“We start early ’round here.” He angled his boots over a branch on the path, heading toward a long, skinny barn-looking structure.

Wait . . . “How early?”

His smile paved the way for his answer. “Five thirty.”

Oh, ow. “You do know that’s inhuman, right?”

“You do want the ‘authentic experience’ of farm life, right?” Eli volleyed, slinging air quotes around the words she’d used earlier, and shit. Shit, shit, sleepless shit. He kind of had her there.

Not that she was conceding defeat of any kind. “So no flip-flops, hydrate, cover up, and be ready to roll at o’dark-thirty. Is that all?”

The slight lift of his dark-blond brows was the only betrayal of his surprise. “It’ll serve for now.”

“Excellent, because I’ve got a couple of rules of my own.” Scarlett jammed her flip-flops to a halt on the path, staring Eli down even though he stood a solid foot taller than her in those banged-up boots of his. “I’m here to do a job, and I don’t intend to take any half measures, which means, yes, I’m going to take a lot of pictures, and yes, I do want to experience farm life authentically. I’m fine with hard work, and also fine with any suggestions or guidance you’re willing to offer while we get that hard work done. What I’m not cool with”—she lifted a finger to send her point all the way home—“is you underestimating me. These features are going to do a lot for your farm, and I’m a damned good photographer, not to mention a pretty smart woman. Now, are we going to play nicely together for the sake of this magazine layout, or are you going to keep leading the way with your cocky attitude? In truth, I’m fine with either, but if you want to go the arrogant route, be forewarned. I bite back.”

Racer McKay is a broody bastard.
From the moment I met him, he’s been rude, irritable, and unbearable.
A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.
Racer McKay is also infuriatingly . . . sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time.
We try to stay out of each other’s way . . . that is until I have no other option but to ask for his help.
But what I don’t realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he’s desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.
Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.
*Twisted Twosome is a stand alone romantic comedy.

Excerpt:

**GEORGIANA**
“So, are you ready for tonight?” Madison asks.
The heat of the sun intensifies with the mention of tonight. It’s beating down on me, building up the pressure, circling me in an inferno of what’s to come.
Tonight.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more nervous in my entire life. Even when I was forced to go with Danny Leshay to senior prom because it was part of my father’s business deal with a client. My dad buys out a lumberyard, and in return, I have to go with the guy’s son to prom. Thoughts of being stabbed and murdered on the side of the road by someone I didn’t know terrified me. Thanks, Dad!
“I’m prepared but so freaking nervous.” I turn on my side and face Madison. “I have that sinking feeling he’s going to say no.”
“How can he say no, G? You’ve run through your presentation a million times. I’ve seen it. You are solid with all your numbers, with your projections; it’s an easy yes.”
“To any other businessman, my presentation is an easy yes, but to my dad . . . I have this horrible feeling it’s going to be a hard pass.”
And that’s the honest truth. He’s a good man, but when it comes to me, I’m his little girl, not an aspiring entrepreneur.
“You might be surprised.” Madison takes a big sip from her drink. “He wasn’t happy at first about you going to Northwestern and earning your master’s in business, but he changed his mind about that.”
I roll my eyes. “Yeah, because on paper, I’m more appealing to one of the ‘husbands’ my dad has chosen for me. An educated girl is a girl with goals and motivation, one that will be able to participate with knowledgeable commentary in dry, pointless conversations at charitable events. My entire life leading to this point has been a long and drawn-out finishing school run, and operated by my father, preparing me for the very moment I meet the one man I can stand at his side, woo his clients, and be the trophy wife I’ve been morphed into.” I set my drink on the table between us and rest my hands under my cheek. “I want so much more, Madison.”
“If you had red hair and was brushing it with a fork right now, I would think you were the little mermaid.”
“I’m serious.” I laugh just as cursing from a thousand men breaks up our little conversation.
From the side of the pool where renovations for the pool house are taking place, the lone construction worker is holding his finger between his jean-clad legs.
Madison sits up and lifts her sunglasses to get a look at the commotion. “Did you hammer a nail into your finger over there?”
The man who’s been working on the building for a few weekends looks up at us. His head is covered by a backward black baseball cap, his chest is bronze from working many hours outside this summer, and it’s hard not to notice the corded muscles wrapped around his entire body, from his chiseled stomach to his powerful biceps. To be honest, it hasn’t been a chore watching him these last few weekends.
What’s-His-Name looks up and pops his finger in his mouth, sucking on it as his body ripples under the brightness of the sun.
“Damn,” Madison mutters under her breath just as the man pops his finger out of his mouth. “Mama likes.”
Unable to hear Madison slowly discredit his self-respect, he gruffly says, “I’m good.” Not giving us a second thought, he shakes his hand and turns back toward his project.
Never having spoken to the man—I’ve only seen him around—I cautiously say, “You sure? Kind of looks like you’re hurt.”
Slowly he turns his head in my direction, his eyes cutting me a look of indignation. “I’m good, Princess. No need to set your cocktail down to check on me.”
Pardon me? Was that attitude?
I sit up, my legs straddling my lounge chair and tip my sunglasses up so he can see my dissatisfaction in his choice of words. “It’s Georgiana, not princess.”
Picking up his hammer, he shoves it in a holster attached to his side and says, “Could have fooled me.”
“Oooooo,” Madison says as if she’s in grade school. “Burned.” She sits back in her chair, taking a sip of her drink as if she’s preparing for the show of a lifetime, one she might just get.
Slowly, I set my drink down and stand. I adjust the fabric of my swimsuit bottom so it’s covering my ass and saunter over to the man, now sorting nails as he casually glances in my direction.
When I stand in front of him, I watch his eyes travel over my barely covered frame until he meets me head-on. His staggering height doesn’t intimidate me, even though he towers over my petite frame. He appears strong and powerful with a hard set in his jaw.
“What did you say?” I ask, a hand on my hip.
Not giving me his complete attention, he says, “You heard what I said or else you wouldn’t be over here trying to put on a front.”
“Put on a front?” My voice sounds a little shrill from the accusation. “I’m not putting on a front.”
“Yeah?” He pulls a rag from his back pocket, lifts his hat, and wipes his brow. His blond hair sticks up in all different directions with beads of sweat at the tips that aren’t covered by his hat. “So you’re not trying to act intimidating in front of your friend? You know, push around the hired help to make yourself feel better?”
“Excuse me?” Two seconds ago I was irritated, now I’m mad. “How dare you make such an awful accusation about me. You don’t know a thing about me.”
“I know enough,” he answers and turns around to nail another board for the new siding. His incessant hammering has ensured a headache all morning.
“Hey.” I poke his sweaty back, trying to ignore how amazingly tight it feels under my index finger. “I suggest if you want to keep your job you show a little respect.”
Whoa, can we all say it together? Georgiana, you’re a bitch. The words felt dirty leaving my mouth. I really don’t act like this, like my—gulp—parents, but I’m tired, anxious about meeting with my dad, and irritated. It’s a cataclysmic combination and when that happens, nothing good comes from it. I’m about to apologize when he starts to go off on me.
“Respect? You want to talk respect?” He spins on his heel and holds up his hammer. “What do you know about respect, Princess? From where I see it, you know nothing. Every weekend I’ve been here, you’ve ordered people around, watching them wait on you hand and foot, complained about not having any money, gossiped about every bad boob job in town, and have yet to be pleasant to anyone who stands an inch beneath you.” He goes to hammer again but turns around once more and says, “And the heels you just had to wear out to the pool ripped a fucking hole in my nail gun hose, giving me no other option than to nail these boards by hand, adding on time I can’t afford. So, Princess, excuse me for upsetting you, but I’m sticking with the nickname. It fits you to a T. Oh, and just so you know, sandals. Sandals are the proper footwear you should be wearing around the pool.” He rolls his eyes, turns around, and starts hammering another nail into the siding of the pool house.
How dare he!
“That’s what you think I am? Some whiney brat?”
“If the unnecessary high heel fits, Princess.”
Unsure of what to do. I stomp my foot and say, “Well, I’m not.”
Pretty sure my reaction just solidified his assumption.
“Tantrums don’t work on me; try your daddy.” He continues to hammer away, his back muscles shimmering with each movement.
“Maybe I will. We’ll see what he has to say about this little conversation.”
He places another nail against the board and starts hammering. “Wouldn’t be shocked if you did. You step on my hose, ruin my chances of getting this project done today, which only prolongs my time here, cutting down on my chance to make more money since I’m getting paid a flat rate, and now you want to get me fired. Sounds about right. Can’t take the blame for anything.”
No one has ever been so disrespectful to me.
“How was I supposed to know I stepped on your stupid hosey thing?”
“Maybe if you pay attention to people and objects around you, you may have noticed.”
“You’re a jerk, you know that?” He has me all wrong, and it is really bothering me that he pictures me as a spoiled, inconsiderate, self-consumed brat. That’s not who I am at all.
“How do you figure? Because the way I see it, you’re the jerk.” His body fully turns around to face me, challenge in his eyes, maybe a bit of humor at the corner of his lips as he awaits my answer.
Holding my chin high, I say, “Because, instead of having a hissy fit like a petulant child, you could have come over to me and said, ‘Miss Westbrook, sorry to bother you, but you seem to have poked a hole in my hose.’ But instead you decided to stew over here and then pick on me when I was trying to see if you were okay from your inability to hammer a nail into a piece of wood properly. It’s called being an adult.”
He studies me, hands on his hips, not showing any kind of reaction. “Being an adult, huh? And you think you’re an expert at that?”
“I would say I’m well-versed in the topic.”
He nods, his teeth biting down on his lower lip as his eyes flick to where Madison is sitting. “Well-versed, interesting. Tell me, when did adults start eating dinosaur chicken nuggets for lunch?”
Just when I’m about to reply, Madison calls out, “Nuggies are ready, G. Come eat T-Rex’s arms with me. Roar!”
I shut my eyes tight, willing for this moment to disappear, maybe praying for the ground to swallow me whole due to Madison’s poor timing. The infuriating man says with a smile, “Your nuggies are ready, Princess. Don’t want them getting cold.”

Loving Kalvin by Siobhan Davis….Review

BOOK BLURB:
A friends-to-lovers second-chance romance from USA Today bestseller Siobhan Davis. Standalone with HEA and no cliffhanger.

Lana
I knew it would end in disaster, but I didn’t listen to reason. I didn’t care. Because I loved him so much.
Kalvin Kennedy ruled my heart.
Until he destroyed it.
Shattered it so completely that I became someone else. Someone I loathed. Someone who repeatedly lied to her loved ones.
So, I ran.
From him. From myself. Desperate to hide my new reality.
But I could only run so far.
When he reappears in my life, I’m terrified. Unbelievably scared of facing the consequences of my actions.
Never mind that I still love him and want him so badly—there’s too much at stake now.
How can I trust him with the biggest secret of all when he’s likely to rip my world apart again?

Kalvin
Lana was always far too good for me. Everyone knew it but her.
I tried to stay away, but I was weak.
And I hurt her.
Crushed her until she barely resembled herself. Forced her to follow a path she would never have willingly chosen.
And then she was gone.
And my world has never felt as empty, as lonely.
She begged me to stay away. Not to find her. To forget she ever existed.
But that’s like asking me to slice my heart in two and toss half aside.
I’ve never believed in fate, but when I rock up to the University of Florida, I’m ready to eat my words.
Because she’s here. Like I hoped she would be. And I’m determined to prove I deserve a second chance.

“Another inspiring story about love, strength, and forgiveness … I was awake until the early hours frantically turning the pages.” Angelina. Goodreads reviewer

“It wasn’t pretty. It was a fully-fledged sob-fest and ugly cry but I loved every second of it.” Dreamland Teen Fantasy

“Absolutely amazing. A beautiful, emotional story about forgiveness and second chances.” P. Leslie. Goodreads reviewer

“An emotional and heart touching story. I am looking forward to the next adventure in the Kennedy saga.” Jacquelyn. Goodreads reviewer

Loving Kalvin is the 4th book in Siobhan’s The Kennedy Boys series. It is a standalone, however, if you want to understand the true meaning behind Kalvin and Lana’s history, I would highly recommend reading the previous three books, which you do need to read in order.

Quick background:

Kalvin and Lana have known each other since they were two. But they were never on the same level in society’s eyes. He was the rich boy and she was the daughter of the help. As they got older, Kalvin denied whatever he was feeling for Lana and in her eyes, strung her along while he played the field with every other girl. Lana ended up doing the unthinkable and in her blind hate and rage, accused of him rape, something she knew wasn’t true. She requited her statement in court but asked that he leave her alone and never look for her.

And that’s where this Loving Kalvin starts off. Lana is now enrolled at UF and trying to move on with her life. She has changed her name so that people don’t recognize her so easily and hopefully prevents Kalvin from ever finding her.

Kalvin finally got his shit together and realized that his feelings for Lana were never going to dissipate and that he needed to prove to her he was in it for the long run. But he also knows that he has a lot to prove of himself to her.

If you have read any of Siobhan’s other books in this series, this book doesn’t have the deep angst and drama that the others have. And it shouldn’t. Kalvin and Lana story is about second changes, learning to trust and love again. These two have gone through a lot and now they are trying to move forward, together.

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of Lana because of what she did. Even after reading this book, I am still on the fence with her. She is very selfish and uses excuses to explain away her decisions. I will be honest, Kalvin is a damn saint for being able to forgive her for everything and wanting to have that second chance. Without giving any of the twists away, Lana isn’t completely honest with Kal when they start to rekindle what they have, and her dishonesty with him is way worse than her wrongful accusation of rape.

I know many are thinking, if you don’t like one of the main characters, how could you rate the book with 4 stars. Let me explain myself – Siobhan was able to write a character that I am sure she no doubt knew her readers wouldn’t care for initially but would maybe empathize with once we got her story. In my case, no, I still didn’t like her. I don’t hate her, but I am not a Lana fan at all.

For me, it’s the fact that she is able to write an amazing story with characters I may love and/or hate that I rate this book so high. When an author is able to make the story so damn good, that I actually want to smack characters upside their heads because of their actions, that’s a damn good book!

Loving Kalvin is an enthralling and emotional story. Siobhan really knows how to bring out all the stops and keep you rooted in the story with the ups and downs of a great love story. Another enticing read from Siobhan.

THE WILL
SOARING

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
