Baby Daddy is another sweet and light read from Kendall Ryan!! I really enjoyed this one and read it one sitting.

Kendall has the niche down to a science, I swear. She knows how to write this easy and sweet romances with great characters that you find yourself loving so easily.

Jenna is over trying to find the perfect man to settle down with and start a family and she knows her biological clock is ticking so she’s ready to become a single mom. Emmett took over the reigns of the family company and has no interest in ever having a relationship because he saw how his father failed at having a successful company and be a family man too.

When these two have a very odd first meet up but things couldn’t be more perfect for them. She doesn’t want the daddy in the picture and Emmett doesn’t want anything to do with having a family or anything along those lines. Match made in heaven for these two.

I love that Kendall made these two characters older and more mature with their shit together. It made the whole story all the more believable and enjoyable. Jenna and Emmett’s interactions were very entertaining and quite hilarious at times. Everything happened naturally and over time as they spent more time together. I was afraid that the one snafu between these two would be resolved too easily but again, Kendall worked it out the way that fit these characters and made sense. It was a quick thing but it was handled with maturity so I had no qualms with how everything panned out.

Another smashing hit for Kendall and one that her fans will love.

I don’t know what love is anymore.

Well, that’s not entirely true, but I’m going to tell you a little secret: I’ve lost the spark.

You know the kind of spark I’m talking about?

Where butterflies take flight in your stomach from two hands innocently colliding. Or catching your breath when you first meet someone attractive. Yeah, that spark.

Except I haven’t felt that feeling in forever; there is nothing left inside of me.

Someone is ringing my fucking doorbell. I was at the hospital until the wee hours, I was finally in a deep, lovely sleep, and someone is ringing the bell.

All I know for sure is, this had better not be the damn door-to-door people trying to sell me a vacuum. Or a magazine. Or Jesus.

I wrap my robe around me, stumbling toward the door. I pull it open and am surprised to find an excited Sadie and a ridiculously sexy Brad standing at my door.

“Is that coffee?” I ask.

“Rough night?” he asks without confirming or denying.

“Babies,” I reply with a shrug. “You?”

He just shrugs. “Are you going to ask me in?”

“Sure.” I back up and gesture him into the room. “Sorry, I was sleeping pretty good. My energy level is about equal to a sloth on Xanax.”

“I can leave and let you go back to bed.”

His eyes roam up and down my body, reminding me that I’m just in a robe and nothing else. His green eyes are hot, and every muscle in his body is tight.

Even sleep deprived, I can tell when a man is in the mood.

“You’ve brought me coffee. I’ll never kick you out when you’ve done that.”

“I’ll remember that,” he says with a chuckle.

“Besides, I have plenty of room.” I turn and walk into my bedroom, glancing behind me to see that he’s following me. He makes a hand gesture at Sadie, which I assume means stay. “We can take a nap,” I suggest.

His lips twitch, but he doesn’t say anything when he joins me next to the bed. He takes my coffee and sets both of our cups on the bedside table.

“Is that what you want, Hannah?” he murmurs and skims his fingertips down my arms.

“Eventually.”

Review:

I have been a HUGE fan of this series since the very first book, so to say I was super hyped for this newest installment would be an understatement and after finishing reading it I can say it felt just like I thought it would. Like coming home.

From the very first page I fell in love with Hannah and Brad. I loved their easy banter and their comfortable and familiar attraction. It was all just so honest and came with a delicious simplicity that a lot of book relationships don’t have these days. There was an ease about these two that I just adored and it was so natural and uncomplicated. They both work crazy hours, but each understood it and worked with it. They took care of one another when there were tough times and when things were difficult. There was a beautiful mutual respect and admiration they shared and I loved it so much.

That’s not to say there wasn’t a bit of turmoil when Hannah has to comes to terms with some issues that have been plaguing her for quite some time. But having Brad by her side made that task a manageable feat. Man, I just love that sheriff!

Of course, in addition to all of that, the heat and chemistry between them is off the charts delicious and I ate it up with a spoon! Totally swoon worthy!

And I would be remiss if I didn’t say how happy I was to see our fave characters from the rest of the series as Hannah and Brad’s story was told. I love this town so so so much!

Thank you, Ms. Proby, for bringing us back to one of my favorite towns with some of my favorite characters!

Colton and Ana are so hot together! I have always enjoyed sports romances but this one left me a little confused. It wasn’t because I haven’t read the previous books- at least I don’t think so. I found myself actually flipping back a few pages and re-reading things in case I missed something. Keep in mind, I had an advanced copy so it may have been edited a bit more since I read it. As much as I enjoyed the hot romance between Colton and Ana, even the characters alone I enjoyed, I just found myself asking, “Wait where did that come from or where did that person come from”. It just didn’t flow for me. I also found it hard for two people to be so intimate a few times and not wanting to ask him what his name was. It drove me mad because it took so long for her to get it.
If some of the odds and ends of the story were more coherent I would have loved Sweet Revenge. It has the great characters and it has an unbelievable story line with suspense. I just felt it needed a bit of tiding up. However, if you love a fast pace love story that has a bit of mystery- you very well will enjoy this one!

I am so happy that I was able to read the second book in this series and let me tell you- A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! The first book Max Henry wrote, Desire, was good but Regret is amazing! Seriously, I devoured this book in two days. That being said it is a series but I do think that you could possibly read it as a standalone since you will get the idea that Belle is not supposed to be with her dad’s best friend, Zeus. I know, I know, dad’s best friend? Don’t worry because while he is older than Belle, he is also younger than John (Belle’s dad).

Now let me get to the nitty gritty of it- Zeus-ummmm hello- a man down on luck but trying so hard to better himself. The way he loves Belle, ugh, just put butterflies in my stomach! He is such a great book boyfriend ladies. I love him even more in Regret. It is a forbidden romance that neither one of them are quite sure they want to get tangled up in again. Plus, Belle has been gone for three years in another country. Things have changed but the love they have for each other is so hard to deny! It is as if Max Henry gave her all in this book and it shows. She writes, “It’s everything; how our love is viewed and persecuted by those who don’t understand it, the struggles we face, the adversity. He is the serpent, and I am the dove”. That right there ladies and gentlemen explains what this book is about and it is such a great read!
