I finished this book in a couple hours, devouring every sentence, every page Natasha gifted the world with, until it was over and I was crying happy tears. – Cait’s Creatures

Unexpected Love was just that unexpected. The storyline at times has some heartbreaking moments for both characters that made you want to hug both of them. -Melissa BookSmacked

I really enjoyed Unexpected Love Story. Gabe and Crystal’s story was quite unique and pretty entertaining.

Gabe is like a large yet sexy teddy bear. His loyal and fierce with his friends and family. So when he’s left picking up the pieces of a failed relationship, his friends and family are there to help him move forward.

Crystal is the best friend we all love. She’s strong in herself, helps everyone out and is always there when you need her. But no one knows that underneath it all, she’s protecting her biggest secret. She erected a wall around her heart and moved on her with her nursing career – one of the best in her area.

Watching Gabe and Crystal were a hoot. As much as they grated on each other’s nerves, it was the sexual tension that drove them to it. These two were practically starting an electrical fire every time they were around each other. And as much as they thought they were being sneaky – everyone seemed to know that something was going on.

Overall, it’s a sweet and quick read. I definitely recommend reading these in order as they all blend together and would be slightly confused on things. My only gripe is that since each book has overlapping scenes, it felt slightly repetitive in ways and I felt myself skimming those scenes since they didn’t give any new insight to things. Other than that, the book was enjoyable.

They’re serving up some red-hot revenge. A sizzling series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel van Dyken.

Blaire has never quite gotten over Jessie Beckett, the ex–NFL star whose kisses were hot enough to ignite the entire Eastern Seaboard. When he chose work over her, Blaire was left brokenhearted. Why else would she have married a skeezy two-timer, just to divorce him less than a year later?

Now Blaire is getting even by becoming one half of Dirty Exes, a PI firm fully committed to humiliating cheating jerks. If only the new jerk she’s been hired to uncover wasn’t Jessie Beckett himself.

Exposing Jessie isn’t going to be easy, especially when she still daydreams about his sexy smile. Further complicating matters is Colin, Jessie’s best friend. He’s gorgeous, a little bit cunning, and willing to help Blaire get the inside scoop on Jessie—for a price.

Now caught between two men—one totally right and the other totally wrong—Blaire will need to decide just how much she’s willing to risk…and whom she’s willing to risk it for.

Excerpt:

It ended there.

Right. Forget about his mouth.

Or the way I sighed when he touched my shoulder.

The way my body quivered when his skin pressed against mine in the car.

“Stop!” I gritted my teeth and searched the kitchen. Cheaters often hid things in places that their spouse wouldn’t expect, like pantries and junk drawers, places that seemed obvious but weren’t. I’d once found a second cell phone in a cereal box.

Cheaters were like drug addicts.

They knew the perfect place to hide the drugs.

I shuddered.

Dirty. Toilets.

Not the best day I’d ever had, but marginally better than the sewer.

I spent the next thirty minutes with plastic gloves searching every crevice of that kitchen, patting down the inside of drawers, digging through trash. Nothing.

The guy was either a saint . .

Or we had a serious Dexter situation going on, and he knew exactly how to dispose of incriminating evidence.

Sexy male laughter jolted me from my search. I freaked, ran into the pantry, and shut the door just as Jessie’s face came into view.

Sweat trickled down my back.

Shit, shit, shit!

Oh, this was bad, so bad.

What man didn’twant to eat after coming home from the gym?

“Nice, man, she keeps the book on the bar?” Colin’s mocking voice at least made me feel like I wasn’t the only one who thought it was strange. “Fams always so classy.”

“Yeah,” Jessie agreed. “I think maybe it’s her way of reminding me how happy we were that one year.” He hesitated. “You know, the one where we actually did normal things like stay home and make dinner, and watch movies instead of going out all the time. That went to hell fast.”

Colin sighed.

“She writes a book about our best year, and then turns into this greedy person I don’t recognize and dream about murdering in her sleep.”

  • “Hey,” Colin warned. “I get it, I do, but she’s still my—”

“Sorry, man.”

“It’s fine, like I said, I get it.”

I plastered my ear to the door to listen harder. What did Colin mean? Why was he defending her? Why was Jessie saying sorry? I made a mental note to purchase the book and torture myself by reading it cover to cover.

“You contemplate murdering her while she sleeps,” Colin said in a weird tone, “and yet she’s still living here in this house with you? Tell me how that makes sense? You say she’s not the same person, but she never really was the person you thought she was. When are you going to get that?”

“She was different then, man. She was.” Jessie came to her defense so quickly I almost fell backward. He sounded like—he still had feelings for her. I turned my attention back to the door as footsteps neared the pantry. Oh hell. Not good.

I needed to get out. Fast.

I grabbed my cell and texted Colin.

And seconds later heard a ping.

“Another one of your sex buddies?” Jessie teased.

Colin paused and then, “Oh yeah, but this one’s been really hard to tame. You know the type, a bit schizo but so hot you don’t care that she asks to twist your nipples while she licks your nose.”

“Seriously?” Jessie choked.

“She likes noses. And snake tattoos, loves them.”

“Lucky for you.”

“I think it reminds her of the size of my dick, you know?”

I made a gagging noise, shifted on my feet, then texted again.

Me: Seriously! Trapped! And your dick can’t be the size of that python on your arm because that would mean you actually impale women on a daily basis.

Colin: Just call me Dracula.

I frowned.

Colin: Get it? The impaler.

Me: Look at that, basement dweller can joke! He’s got jokes! Meanwhile I’m going to starve to death in this pantry.

Colin: You mean around all that food?

“Wow, this girl must have skills if you’re that focused on your texts . . .” Jessie trailed off.

“She’s . . . unique,” Colin finally said.

My eyes narrowed. Was that a compliment? Did it matter? Why did I care? And why the hell did Jessie have ten different kinds of cereal—and all the boxes were full.

And alphabetized? Starting with Apple Jacks? Really?

Not that I’d resorted to more snooping.

Okay, so I’d resorted to more snooping.

But the fact that they were full was emotionally distressing. A full cereal box at my house lasts about one hot minute before I get a craving for Cheerios that even wine can’t cure.

“Hey”—Colin cleared his throat—“I need a favor.”

“Anything,” Jessie said quickly.

“I need a nice shirt for a date tonight, something . . . classy.”

Jessie laughed. “What? You can’t wear your own clothes?”

“You know I like your style better.” I rolled my eyes, has he seen that man’s closet? His white shirts are all ironed to within an inch of their lives. “Plus I want to impress this girl and I don’t have time to go grab a new shirt, we’re going on a late lunch date and I’m sweaty as hell, so please? Let me borrow a shirt, I’ll go home and shower, pair it with some nice jeans, and be inside her in no time.”

I glared at the door. Like I could actually see Colin’s smug expression. Why was my heart thumping? Why was I breathing like I was having trouble sucking in air?

He could date whomever he wanted.

I shifted on my feet as my face heated.

He was an attractive, successful man.

I crossed my arms.

Then uncrossed them nervously.

“Yeah, yeah,” Jessie finally said. “I’ll be right back, try not to burn down the kitchen or set the book on fire.”

“Shit, you read my mind,” Colin joked.

The sound of footsteps faded as Jessie walked toward the bedroom.

And then pantry door was jerked open.

I blinked up at him. “Thank you.”

“People . . . they pay you,” he said, leaning his large frame against the door while his muscles bulged beneath his sweat-soaked shirt, “for this?”

My eyes narrowed. “Yes! And I’m good at it.”

His smirk was wicked as he glanced behind me and then locked eyes. “Obviously.”

I shoved his chest. “I miscalculated the time, that’s all.” I tried squeezing past him, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back into the pantry and closed the door.

“What the hell are you doing?” I hissed as he pressed me against the wall. “He’s going to find me!”

“A favor for a favor, spy girl.” Colin’s grin turned menacing. “I got Jessie out of the house, gave you my car, and saved your sorry ass. I get a favor.”

“I’m not sucking your nose and licking your tattoo, you psycho,” I said, repeating what he’d said earlier.

“Don’t knock it, you may love it.” He winked, and then stood his ground. “One favor.”

I sighed and gritted my teeth. “Fine.”

“A date,” he said triumphantly. “I want a date.”

“A date,” I repeated in a slightly panicked voice. “Like to dinner?”

“No, I was thinking the drive-in, we could make out, eat popcorn, I’d feel you up a bit—yeah, dinner.”

I smirked. “If I go to dinner with you . . . you’ll get me out of this godforsaken pantry with the full boxes of cereal?”

“Noticed that, did you?’

“He’s clearly not human.”

“I steal his Cocoa Puffs every chance I get.”

I nodded seriously. “I think my respect for you grew just now.”

“Ah, she likes cereal.”

“She’d also like to not get caught!”

“Go.” He shoved me toward the pantry door. “Run out the back and try not to trip and ruin your escape.”

“I don’t trip.” Of course, at that moment, I tripped over my own feet and almost face-planted into his lips.

He sighed, his expression worried and a bit stunned as Jessie’s voice carried to the kitchen. “Black okay?”

“Go.” Colin shoved me again. “Oh, and you’re picking me up. It seems I’m down a car.” He winked. “I’ll text you.”

I think everyone knows by now that any book RVD writes, I am reading it. I am in completely – no blurb needed, it’s an ALL- IN deal for me. And she did not let me know with Dirty Exes.

I enjoy Rachel’s humorous and light side more than I realized. I have a high bar set for comedy in romance because if not done correctly, it can feel over the top and ruin a great book. But Rachel blends her humor in really well with this book giving if the needy light side so things don’t get too serious and annoying.

Dirty Exes is the first book in Liars, Inc and starts everything of well. Blaire is one of the two women who started their PI firm. They only work with top clientele looking to see if their SO is cheating. And let me tell you, no job is too dirty or too risky for these women.

After their last successful “catch” it’s Blaire’s turn to be the bait and try to catch the perp in the act. Until said perp is the one man she just can’t find herself getting over. She tires to now allow herself to get too personal with this one but when you have a history with someone, it’s hard not to let personal feelings get in the way.

I have to say that in the long run, I did enjoy this book a lot. I loved the characters and how they each held a perfect blend to the story. I loved that things panned out how I thought (wasn’t upset I guessed early because the story was perfect) and I loved getting to know each of the characters.

My only gripe is the timeframe Blaire and Jessie were together previously – 3 weeks. Three weeks isn’t enough to really be pining after the dude years later, but whatever – maybe the connection was that strong. But RVD does a great job of explaining things and working it all out.

Another amazing story from RVD. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Lei couldn’t breathe. Her chest closed painfully as if she’d been knocked flat on her back, and her lungs burned with the need for oxygen. Somewhere in the tiny rational corner of her mind, she knew there was nothing really wrong with her, but rational thought had no place in the midst of her panic.

He’s back. Emma was right all along and he’s coming for us.

Stop.

You’re spiraling.

Travis Berkley is still in jail. This is a copycat, and no matter how bad a copycat is, he can’t be worse than Travis. You survived before. You will this time, too.

A whine cut through her thoughts, and then Saul was there, nudging her hand with his cool nose. She inhaled sharply, suddenly aware that everyone in the room was staring at her. The Feds had the blank-slate expression she’d come to associate with cops when they were in a difficult situation. Emma looked at her as if she was on the verge of her own panic attack.

Lei stroked her hand over Saul’s head, forming a wall of indisputable facts in her mind to keep the fear at bay. She wasn’t twenty-one anymore, only a couple of years out of the stifling family home she’d grown up on, still drunk on freedom and the realization that she could do anything she wanted to with her future.

She’d been an idiot. A child who was playing dress-up without realizing the pitfalls of adulthood.

Though most pitfalls don’t come attached to a knife.

Lei wasn’t that girl anymore. She’d seen the worst Travis Berkley could offer and had the scars to show for it. She could shoot. She could fight. She’d worked with enough cops over the course of her career as a trainer and search team that she had an inside view to how their minds worked.

She would not lose herself to terror.

Another stroke to Saul’s head and she was able to speak. “How close to the original murders are the details?”

Agent Young exchanged a glance with his partner and leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees. His big hands dangled between his legs, and she distantly noted that he had really firm thighs beneath the expensive slacks. He spoke slowly, as if gauging her response. “We haven’t had a chance to check the original case files, but the big details are almost identical. The murders were performed in the same way—girls kept in a main room and taken out individually. We think he snuck in through a window, because their condo was on the second floor and he used a knife from the kitchen.”

She could almost hear Travis’s voice in her head, even after all these years. Let me in, Lei-Lei. I have a surprise for you. Stupid. She’d been so incredibly stupid, swayed by a pretty face and a boy her parents would approve of who made her feel. Smart, athletic, the right dollar amount in his family’s bank account. Someone bright and colorful and checking all the right boxes.

Since she couldn’t bring herself to ask if one of the girls let him in, she focused on the rest. “If this is a fan, he must have been in contact with Travis at some point.” She put her hand on Emma’s leg when her friend flinched at his name. The Feds didn’t react, which made her sigh. “But you already knew that. You don’t need me telling you how to do your job. What is it you need?”

Another loaded look between them. They’d obviously been partners for a long time, because they managed to convey an entire conversation’s worth of talking in a single look.

Again, it was Agent Young who took the lead. “We can find the details of the case easily enough, along with your accounts, but what I’d like to know is your take on Travis.”

“Because I dated him.” She stated it baldly, as if the fact she’d slept with a murderer was something she’d dealt with and moved on from. As if the fact didn’t still keep her up at night, moving beneath her skin until she wanted to take a wire brush to her body. There weren’t enough hot showers and bleach baths in the world to change the fact she’d willingly been with him. She could never take that back.

“Because you—both of you—have known him longer than anyone.”

“Agent Young—”

“Dante.”

She stopped short. Dante. It fit him somehow—strong and a little bit intense. He masked it well, but there was fire lurking in the depths of his dark eyes, in the way he clenched his fists as they spoke about Travis. She shouldn’t be forming personal opinions about any man, let alone one connected with the case. Lei’s track record had more than proven that fact.

While she was still trying to process her strange and seriously inconvenient reaction to him, Emma had found her voice. She spoke softly, her southern accent giving her breathy tone a pretty lilt. She had a Dolly Parton thing going for her—at least before Dolly got a little crazy for plastic surgery—and Emma wasn’t above playing up the sweet-southern-belle thing when it suited her. “Travis Berkley is a sociopath with a healthy dose of narcissistic personality disorder—which you already know because you read the file. Everything is in the file. We have been doing our best to get past what he did to us—to our sisters—and that means forgetting as much as possible.”

Maybe for Emma. Lei couldn’t afford to forget. It had been her mistake that tipped the first domino that destroyed so many lives. While it was possible Travis could have gotten into the house on his own, she’d been the fool who let him in her window.

The knowledge made her hands shake. Emma might want to do everything to avoid that gory walk down memory lane, but Lei didn’t have that option. Guilt wrapped around her throat, tightening, ever tightening. “You have something specific you’re here for.”

Agent Rowan leaned forward, a clear indication that she’d take it from there. As much as Lei wanted the calming force Dante—Agent Young—seemed to emanate, she turned almost gratefully to the redhead. She eyed her as if Lei was a particularly interesting bug. “We’re theorizing this fucker—”

Clarke.

She didn’t look at him. “These women have seen enough, Dante. You know as well as I do that a few choice curse words aren’t going to have them scrambling for their sniffing salts.”

Lei understood now why Britton had paired these two together. Clarke was the blunt force designed to set a person back on their heels so they were too busy reacting to her foul mouth to stop and think that there might be a shrewd mind behind those deceptively big blue eyes. Dante on the other hand, was a cool summer mist, unruffling feathers and putting everyone in the room at ease with his calm presence. Both agents would be underestimated in different ways, which was only to their benefit.

Clever.

She eyed the dogs on the floor. Neither of them seemed overly concerned with the Feds in the room. Good. Lei had more than proven she could be fooled, but Saul couldn’t. Every time he reacted poorly to a person, she paid attention—and most of the time something eventually came to light to prove her dog’s instincts correct.

Clarke followed her gaze and then refocused on Lei and then Emma. “A lot of sociopaths think they’re smarter than everyone else in the room—some of them are even right—and Travis sure as hell falls into the latter category. His IQ is 167, and from all accounts, prison hasn’t broken him. What we need to know is if he’d encourage a fan to take these steps.”

“Of course he would. He’s a fucking psycho,” Emma snarled.

“What do you think?” Clarke was looking at Lei.

Because why not? Even now, cops thought Lei had some kind of inside track to the way Travis’s mind worked. She’d dated him for months, had slept with him countless times, and so she must have some insider knowledge to explain how the golden boy went so very, very wrong.

She hadn’t been able to give them a satisfactory answer then. She didn’t have one now, either. But she could try.

Katee Robert – you have outdone yourself with this book in this series. This is my favorite book so far in this series. I couldn’t stop reading (while I was awake). Hell, my brain even had me dreaming of this book.

The Surviving Girls gave me chills at so many points in this book – it was written that damn good. I got this sense that I was right there with these characters as this unwound this twisted path they were thrown onto.

I won’t give any details because you need to read this one blind (aside from the blurb). Lei and Emma survived that same brutal killings their friends unfortunately didn’t. But they both have moved on in different ways, but together.

But when a copycat killer starts things back up, they are thrown back into the thick of things. And even though it’s been over 10 years since they went through that whole ordeal, everything comes rushing back to them.

Katee wrote a very strong and intriguing plot. This book moves at the perfect pace; while everything may only happen in a few days time, it all makes sense and never feels rushed in any way.

The twists and turns are brought about very cleverly and she leaves just enough bread crumbs to string you along. I have so many different ideas as to who, what, why, how things happened. While I was right on one thing, it was how it played out that I was totally baffled on.

Bravo Katee for writing another amazing suspenseful read. You have this knack for writing books that keep your readers engaged and immensely emerged in the story.

If you haven’t read any of Katee’s books yet, I highly recommend giving this series a go!

Side Note – let me clarify something on all these books and it’s something that I have come to realize after now reading the third book. These books are classified as romantic suspense but there is very little romance in them; however due to the fact that there is some romance in them and due to standards, it can’t be listed as just a suspense/thriller. So please do not go into these books hoping for a lot of romance – it is definitely a subplot that is not really developed too much in the book, which I find to a be a great thing. The suspense and thrill are what really drives these books home.

“…a captivating read, made all the more rewarding when good triumphs.”—Washington Post on The Devil’s Daughter

“Robert shows off her impressive versatility in this fast-paced and inventive new Hidden Sins series. One Baby Daddy by Meghan Quinn….Review Tour

“What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?”

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn’t falling for my reputation as the NHL’s Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend’s house. She didn’t want to hear my reason–she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy–and the perfect escape.

She’s everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I’ve ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don’t expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don’t expect is having to fight for her affection.

“Would you mind zipping up the back of my dress?” She walks toward me, her flowery scent floating in my direction, spiking my yearning into overdrive.

“Uh, yeah . . . sure.”

She turns around, and looks over her shoulder. The back of her dress is completely open, the zipper undone to just above the curve of her beautifully round ass.

Shit, all that smooth, tan skin, covered by nothing but the velvety fabric of the dress. Is she wearing underwear? She’s not wearing a bra and I see no panty line.

Clearing my throat, I ask, “Are you wearing underwear, Adalyn?”

From over her shoulder, she smiles shyly. “Yes, it’s small though.”

Of course it is. Why wouldn’t it be?

Not being able to stop myself, I take a second to float my fingertips up her spine. From the initial touch, her back arches and a small gasp releases from her lips, but before I can think about stopping, she melts into my touch. Stepping closer, I place my hand on the back of her hip, my thumb pressing into her ass while the other hand explores the bare expanse of her back. Her head falls to my shoulder. Her lips part, and when I snake to the front of her dress, her breath hitches.

Eyes closed, I take in ragged breaths, my fingers inching closer and closer to her front, my cock painfully hard.

It’s been so goddamn long—and being with Adalyn has only spurred on my need—but I want to make sure we’re in a good place before we commit to anything. I want to make sure she’s ready emotionally because the minute I bury myself deep inside her, I know there will be no turning back. She will be mine forever.

But maybe for now, I can just have a little touch . . .

My cock pressed against her butt, she expertly grinds her backside into me, her hands moving to my neck, pulling my head down to hers. I kiss the side of her neck, using the hand that’s gripping her hips to guide her with her grinding in just the right place.

Fuck, that feels good.

I grunt, the sound vibrating over her sleek neck. My hand on her stomach, she arches wanting more of my touch, silently asking me to move north.

And I fucking comply. Inch by slow inch, I guide my hand to just below her breasts. When I halt my pursuit, a displeased groan escapes her.

“Hayden, please.”

I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to find the willpower. Her fingernails dig into my scalp, spurring me on as she turns her head and finds my lips.

She kisses me.

Hot.

Wet.

Needy.

Her lips gliding across mine, her tongue diving into my mouth, her moans are vocal and sexy. Her delicious ass, pressing, grinding, undulating against my rock-hard cock makes me want to do so much more, makes me want to taste so much more.

Moving my hand higher, my fingertips graze the bottom of her breast. Soft. Round. Smooth. I caress her right below her nipple, never touching, just teasing . . . tempting.

So I love Meghan Quinn and her writing style. I don’t know that there isn’t I haven’t read by her that I have not loved completely. And One Baby Daddy is just another book to add to that list.

One Baby Daddy is a complete standalone in her Dating by Series. It is Hayden’s story, whom we met first in Three Blind Dates. However, I love that Hayden’s best friend is Racer (Twisted Twosome) from Meghan’s Binghamton series!! I love that she intertwines these two series. You do not need to read any other books to enjoy this one, but she will make you want to go back and read about these others characters (and let me tell you, you will love them too!). Oh and Calder from Back in the Game also makes an appearance too.

Ok – on to this book!! Hayden is a professional hockey player who is now is his off season after losing an important game. He chose to return to Binghamton instead of his parents because he wanted some alone time. It’s in Binghamton that he meets Adalyn, a very close of Racer’s at his “welcome home” party.

Adalyn came into Racer’s circle due to other mutual friends and these two just really hit off and agreed they were better off as friends. Aside from Racer warning Hayden to stay away from Adalyn, there is something that draws him to her. And so beings their journey.

I have to admit, Hayden surprised me. That man has a lot of restraint. And Adalyn has the patience of a saint. The chemistry between these two is off the charts this book is a slow torture burn. But I loved it so much. Hayden wants their relationship to built on more than the physical. But when it does get physical, things go south for them.

Hayden and Adalyn are good at communication, to a degree. Like all relationships, there are ups and downs but when one of you is a professional hockey player where the majority of your time is spent training, playing and traveling for that sport, it adds even more pressure to the relationship. There was a certain individual who was adding some outside issues and while he annoyed at first, in the end, Meghan was able to make me like him.

Meghan writes a very real and heartfelt story. I love Hayden and Adalyn both separate and together. They are both strong individuals who know what they want out of life. They are both stable people with great families behind them which makes this story all the more enjoyable.

One Baby Daddy is another smashing romance with the perfect blend of humor added in from Meghan.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Another One by Aleatha Romig…Review Tour

Get ready to laugh out loud, swoon, and fall in love with this new, fun, and sexy stand-alone novel from New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig. Demonstrating her versatility in writing, Aleatha revisits her lighter side that you loved in PLUS ONE.

A complete stand-alone, ANOTHER ONE is the next big summer hit.

*Shana*

Trevor Willis is sexy, sweet, and oh so fun. He’s also my best friend’s brother-in-law. That should mean he’s off-limits, or that I should be off-limits to him.

Someone probably should have told us that before my best friend married his brother, before the morning of the wedding when we woke in each other’s arms with gaping holes in my memory.

They didn’t.

We did.

The hilarious truth behind our crazy, secret adventure secured this handsome, off-limits man in my heart. But alas, life goes on. After our one secret night, we went back to our lives—our hardworking, solitary lives.

And then it happened.

My phone began to buzz. Each night with thousands of miles between us, we laughed, talked, and shared. And then, the phone stopped ringing.

Before it did, I knew one thing…

Our secret one had bloomed and blossomed, and now that our circumstances have changed I want another one!

*Trevor*

Shana Price is that one woman. You know, the one who suddenly makes the world more than a place to work, but also a place to live. Usually shy and awkward, in her presence I want to be more—I am more. I don’t even have to try.

She’s my one. I knew it the moment I first met her. What followed simply confirmed it.

The problem is the little hassle of the thousands of miles between us.

I tried to make it work, but each phone call made it harder. (Yes, that is a pun) I couldn’t take it any more—and she became the one who got away.

Now, everything has changed.

Shana is back in the United States—all I have to do is make her see that her job isn’t the only reason to stay.

That shouldn’t be a problem, right?

From a secret one to another one!

Try Aleatha’s lighter side for a guaranteed smile—the perfect getaway.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Trevor~

Sweet and tangy.

Shana Price tastes like sugar with a twist of lemon.

My mind tells me to go slow, reminding me that I don’t have any right to this beautiful woman. My mind is saying to stop, yet her soft moan is all I hear.

My body has its own GPS with the destination close. Listening to my mind is out of the question.

Her petite body shivers as I tease her sweet lips. They willingly part as my tongue delves inside, wrestling with hers.

Not giving up its fight, my thoughts remind me how forward this behavior is and how it isn’t like me. Trevor Willis is not a man who chases a woman down, pins her against the wall, and kisses her until neither of us can breathe or cares.

It’s not me.

But, it should be.

I like it.

I won’t blame the alcohol. I’ll blame my need to know it’s really Shana and to claim her for my own. I didn’t do it last time, and I’ve regretted it every day since.

When her hands come to my chest, I seize them, lifting them above her head and pinning them to the wall. Shana doesn’t fight; instead, her hips move against mine and our kiss grows more passionate. In the dark, crowded hallway, with my body pressed against hers, I swallow the soft moans coming from her throat.

At that moment, I want to be anywhere but a crowded bar in the middle of Manhattan. I no longer care about Eric’s bachelor party or my friends. I don’t even care about Kimbra back out in the bar. All I want is to whisk Shana away and do what we didn’t do before, what her body and mine are ready and aching to do.

I am loving Aleatha’s lighter side. For anyone who has read Aleatha in the past, she is one my favorite go-to authors for romantic suspense. However, I will absolutely buy her lighter, funnier reads in a heart beat too.

These books are all standalones that are inter-connected but you never need to read a previous book to know what is going on in the next book.

Shana and Trevor’s story had me smiling the entire time. I loved how these two met and then even when they were oceans apart, that spark never tied. Aleatha does a great job of taking this from an insta-attraction first meeting to one with a bigger depth than just physical attraction.

Shana and Trevor are individuals who have secure jobs and love what they do. Even though their jobs could force them to move anywhere, they still want to take this bond to the next step and don’t wan to miss out anything, like they did before.

Another One is a slow burn romance with lots of laughter and ALOT of sexy time!! And if you didn’t read the novella, A Secret One, before reading this – you will definitely want to afterwards. It’s the meeting of Shana and Trevor that they talk about in this book.

The Wright Love by K.A. Linde….Blog Tour & Review

The Wright Love — May 15th

A sexy new contemporary romance duet from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I have the perfect life.
Until the day my husband tragically dies.
Being a single mom and widow was never part of the plan.
When David Calloway enters my life, I have no room for love in my heart.
But he’s determined to do right by me.
Could he be the Wright love?

The Wright Love is the first book in the Wright Love Duet, and Sutton and David’s story will conclude in The Wright One—coming May 29th! Get ready for your newest binge read.

Amazon USAmazon UK iBooksB&NKoboGoogle Play

I have been reading this series since the first book. You do not need to read any prior books to read this duet (book two comes out shortly after this one). However, I do highly recommend reading them in order so you have a better feel on all the Wright siblings.

I have been a tough critic of this series because I was expecting more from certain books than what I got. However, I never once stopped continuing on with this series because I know Linde’s stories and her writing are worth giving the next book a try. And sticking with this series was very damn well worth it.

The Wright Love is the start of Sutton and David’s story. Sutton has been through the ringer for the last year of her life. She is the baby of the family and nothing like her siblings. I knew this duet was going to be more emotional than the others and truly wasn’t expecting much in the way of drama. But Linde surprises me and throws in some unexpected suspense and delivers a fantastic twist at the end of this book.

David has got to be the one of the sweetest men I have read so far this year. He puts Sutton’s needs above his own and moves at her pace. He doesn’t push for anything and even backs off when she gets spooked. But he never once loses his sight of what he wants – Sutton. Maybe it’s my hormones, but I love a man that respects any woman enough to adhere to her requests but keeps himself aware of her at all times.

Linde, I think this book (duet) may be your best in this series! I can’t wait to see how Sutton and David’s story ends!

That the vows you made to each other were simply empty promises.

You pick up and move to the country to start fresh.

When life hands you limes, you make sure you have tequila because your life is about to get stirred up.
Jensen

Married to my high school sweetheart, the best thing she gave me was my baby girl.

But we weren’t enough for her. I wasn’t enough for her.

The last thing I expected on my birthday was a Dear John letter, but that’s what I got when she upped and left.

Now, it’s just me and my girl against the world till the new girl moves in next door.

Is there such a thing as a perfect love story?

PERFECT LOVE STORY was just that…the PERFECT LOVE STORY! Beautiful, touching, charming, devastating, magical, and hella’ sexy, once I started, I couldn’t put it down for the life of me, nor did I ever want to. – Shayna Renee

Perfect Love Story is a step away from Natasha Madison’s typical romantic comedy, and she does an incredible job of delivering a poignant, emotional and sigh-worthy romanceMary Dube USA Today HEA

Natasha Madison does it again! Perfect Love Story as so many feels. The title of the book is perfect bc this was the perfect love story. – Tara Sexy Book Diva

Perfect Love Story is exactly that. Beautifully, unbelievably perfect. This is one of those books that digs deep right into your heart.Britt Red Hatter Book Blog

Never has a title fit a book so perfectly. Perfect Love Story is just that. My review will be brief but only because this is one book you just need to go and read.

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions and I love that. Hearts are broken, mended and try to love again. It’s ugly, messy and beautiful.

I love these characters that Natasha has introduced to us. Hailey’s story is one I can never imagine being thrown into, but she is so strong. Jensen, that man has a huge chip on his shoulders, and for good reasons, but he needs to let shit go.

I won’t say anything else. Just know that these two characters plus the secondary characters make for one hell or a Perfect Love Story. I loved everything about this story and these characters.

Natasha’s writing flows beautifully and you feel the words come to life off the pages. It’s what make this book so amazing.

Bravo Natasha. I am looking forward to the next book, Unexpected Love Story.

Chapter One
Hailey“Hello.” Turning down “Glorious” by Macklemore blasting in the background while I washed the kitchen floor with Pine Sol and water, I answer the phone after the first ring.

“It’s me.” I hear my best friend and cousin, Crystal, say from the other end. “Where are you?” I can’t see her face, but I know something is wrong. Even though she’s asked me that question a million times before, this time it’s different. There is no carefree tone. This time, it’s curt and to the point with no laughter in her voice.

“I’m home,” I say, almost whispering as my hand shakes against my ear. My mouth suddenly goes dry, my neck starting to get hot. Something inside my stomach suddenly drops when a slow burn sets in.

“You need to come to the hospital.” Crystal is an emergency room nurse at St. Mary’s, so whatever feeling I was having before has now doubled. “Blake is on his way to get you.” When she mentions my brother, I now know something is gravely wrong. The honk outside doesn’t allow me to question her any further. “You need to get in the car, okay?” she says softly but firmly. “Listen to me, Hailey. Go outside and get here.” My head nods as the hand holding my phone to my ear falls away.

The front door opens, and Blake comes in, looking at me with sorrow and sadness. His brown eyes meet mine briefly, and then he looks down. He doesn’t say anything to me; he simply holds out his hand to me. I put my hand in his, and he leads me out to his truck. He opens the door for me, helping me take that step in.

As I’m looking at him, he pulls the seat belt over my chest and buckles me in. My mind’s still playing the phone call, trying to dissect the conversation. Trying to find one little word that can be the clue. “It’s going to be okay.” His voice breaks through the haze.

I nod my head at him, then he steps back and shuts the door, jogging over to his side. He gets in and puts the truck in drive. I’m on the outside looking in, watching my life fall apart without knowing it.

The only thing I’m certain of is that the sun is shining without a cloud in the sky. As I watch a bird soar through the sky almost in the same direction we are going, I think to myself, Bad things don’t happen when it’s sunny outside, right?

I watch the bird, not even realizing we’ve made it to the hospital. I don’t have a chance to open my door because Blake has it opened before I even think to reach for the handle. “You’re going to be okay,” he assures me as he raises his baseball cap to run his hands through his short dark hair.

“What’s going on?” I have a feeling my entire life is about to change, so I beg him to tell me before we walk through those doors. Blake doesn’t answer. He just reaches down to grab my hand and lead me through the revolving doors.

The harsh smell of antiseptic immediately fills my nose. Voices bombard me, though, none of them are familiar. Glancing around, I take in the hustle and bustle of the emergency room. My heartbeat echoes in my ears as I try in vain to locate a familiar face. I just need to know who we’re here for.

As we silently walk down the corridor, my mind never stops thinking about why we are here. I look up at Blake, asking the one question that makes my heart squeeze with such intense pain, it feels like it might explode.

“Is it Mom? Dad?” I can hear the pleading in my tone. He gives me nothing, continuing to look straight ahead. My eyes go back to the floor, following the tile pattern as we make our way beyond the entrance to the emergency room. The first thing I see is both of my parents, alive and healthy. My mother has tears running down her cheeks, and my father has his arm around her shoulders. They are standing next to the nurses’ station. I look back at Blake in horror. “Is it Nanny?”

He doesn’t have time to answer because Crystal comes out from behind the nurses’ station in her everyday uniform of blue scrubs and Crocs, wearing a stethoscope around her neck.

With one glance at her face, I stop my feet in their tracks. My feet are stuck to the floor as if someone crazy glued them to that spot. I can see the hurt and tears in her eyes. She looks at me with her head tilted sideways, her bottom lip trembling. My body blocks any movements I try to make. I try to advance to Crystal, but I can’t. My knees start to give out, and a horrible shrieking sound comes from somewhere.

I try turning my head to see where the yelling is coming from, but I can’t. I’m on my hands and knees in the hospital corridor. It isn’t until the coldness seeps through my hands that I realize I’m the one screaming. That wretched sound is coming from me. Me. My throat raw, my eyes burning, and my heart irrevocably broken. No words need to be said. No confirmation given. I don’t need them to bring me to a place where we can “talk quietly.” It’s at that moment I finally know what everyone else knows.

My husband is dead.

Jock Row by Sara Ney….Blog Tour & Review

Scarlett is always the sensible one: The sober driver. The planner. The one holding your hair back while you’re worshiping the porcelain gods.

Week-after-week, she visits Jock Row with her friends—the universities hottest party scene and breeding ground for student athletes. And if keeping her friends out of trouble, and guys out of their pants, was a sport, she’d be the star athlete.

Being a well known jock-blocker gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons; just like that, she’s banned from Jock Row. NO GUY WANTS A GIRL AROUND WHO KEEPS THEIR JOCK FRIENDS FROM GETTING LAID.

“Rowdy” Wade is the hot shot short-stop for the university’s baseball team—and the unlucky bastard who drew the short straw: keep little Miss Goody Two-Shoes out of the Baseball House.

But week-after-week Scarlett returns, determined to get inside.

Jock Row is the start of Sara’s next series. I have found myself loving sport romances more and more when they are written from the right authors.

I was a bit surprised with this book by how things panned out between Scarlett and Rowdy; and that’s not a bad thing either. Rowdy was way more sensitive and endearing than I expected him to be, especially right from the beginning. He was the surprise in this book for me.

Scarlett has no problems in telling people how it is – she’s not a bitch about it, but she doesn’t sugar things. When she is kicked out of a house on Jock Row because the guys take her wrong, Rowdy is picked to the be one to assist her out the door. What Rowdy doesn’t expect from this bland looking girl is her whit and saucy banter. An unexpected friendship starts.

Rowdy really surprised me. I was expecting him to be more like his jockhole twit friends and be all cocky about things. And he’s cocky, but for the right reasons and comes across as confident than cocky. The night he is chosen to escort Scarlett from the party, he is enthralled by her quick comebacks and refusal to just leave without her friends. She piques his interest like no one has before.

Jock Row is definitely a slow burn romance and it is so sweet. I enjoyed watching Rowdy and Scarlett go from friends to lovers and learning about each other along the way. Since I was expecting Rowdy to be so sweet, I did feel a bit let down that there wasn’t any asshole moments from him, but at the same time, I am glad that Sara did not go down that alley and kept me on my toes with Rowdy.

A great start to the series and I am looking forward to the next book.

Jesus Christ, she has a dimple in her damn cheek.

I’m a sucker for those.

She shoots me a tentative smile, ass parked on the stoop, back propped against the wooden siding of the house.

It’s obvious that she’s blushing by the way she ducks her head, glancing down at the floor, the soft glow from the two busted lamps illuminate the crown of her head.

The porch lights are busted and rusty, needing their bulbs changed, one flickering—the other just about to burn out. It makes the entire place look like a goddamn Halloween fun-house, casting a weird glow on the girl’s smooth, pale skin.

And her pretty dimple.

Stop staring at it, dipshit.

I cast my glance at her outfit, doing my best to analyze her under the dim lights; she must have been sweaty inside the house; I got a good look at her before convincing her to follow me, but still study her as if seeing her for the first time.

Both of her boots are tucked under her legs, and she sits, cross-legged on the ground. Blows out a frustrated puff of air that translates into a billowing stream of steam.

“So.” She wraps her puffed sleeved arms around her knees, hugging them tight. Shivers. “Now what?”

Her prim ponytail is jaunty, bobbing when she tilts her head to gaze over at me.

“Now I babysit you.”

“Lovely. We can bond.”

I position my large body against the railing, giving it a gentle shake to make sure it’s sturdy before supporting all my weight on it. It’s solid and secure and is going to get real uncomfortable real fucking fast if I have to stand here all night.

The girl raises her brows at me. They appear black in this light; full and arched expertly. “Have you babysat anyone before?”

“No one I managed to keep alive,” I joke. “A few cousins my parents forced me to watch a few times; never would feed them but would occasionally throw out a dog bone so they wouldn’t get hungry.”

She smiles, dimple denting the smooth right side of her face. “Is that what you have planned for me?”

I raise my empty hands. “I’m fresh out of Scooby snacks. Guess we’ll both have to starve.”

“Sorry you have to sit out here.”

“Really?” I sound hopeful. “No one is forcing you to sit out here.”

Her light laugh is quiet. “Fine. I guess I’m not that sorry.” She bites down on her lower lip. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying your discomfort—just a little bit.”

“Gee, thanks.”

Bro Code by Kendall Ryan…Blog Tour & Review

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother’s best friend.

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

Kindle US | AMAZON UK | iBooks | B&N | Paperback

I felt like I was on Kendall Ryan binge this weekend reading two of her books in a row. And I love he writing, so I enjoyed the back to back stories.

Bro Code is an example of where Kendall shines – she writes realistic characters with a relevant story line, which makes it easier for readers to relate to. And I love when everything plays out in a seamless timeline and nothing is rushed, it flows naturally.

Bro Code is exactly what you think it is – following the bro code – the unspoken rule amongst men – sisters are off limits being a part of that unspoken code. But like all rules, spoken or not, they are meant to be broken.

Ava and Barrett have been around each other since they were kids. Barrett and Ava have never voiced their attraction to each other because of Nick, Ava’s brother. They have not seen each other in years due to Barrett moving away to focus on his career and Ava focusing on herself and her future.

Barrett returns to his hometown for Ava and Nick’s father’s retirement party and the tension between these two is as thick as ever. I love that they both flirt and taunt one another not that they are older and aren’t as shy about their feelings. However, bro code is still an issue and they can’t break that.

Kendall gave us a lot of tension and steam in this one; it oozed off the pages. I give Barrett credit for his resitance because Ava was ready to have it after their first kiss – bro code be damned!!

Everything played out really well and I lpved that there wasn’t any lack of communication or immaturity between the characters. They were adults and handled everything maturely. My only gripe was how quickly things played out in the end and wanted a bit more about how those big moments played out.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more Kendall.

Lyric by Molly McAdams….Blog Tour & Review

Lyric

A stand-alone romance novel in the Rebel series – a Redemption series spin-off

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams delivers the first captivating, stand-alone novel in her REDEMPTION series spin-off—the REBEL series . . .
I’m not the kind of girl you forget.
I wish I was.
I wish I was normal.
That I could blend into a crowd. Have a future with the man I’ve loved my entire life…
Maxon James understands me in a way others can’t.
For as long as I can remember, he’s vowed that one day he would claim my wild, rebel heart. God knows I wanted him to try. I wanted the life he promised me in his lyrics.
But his assurances couldn’t change the past, and the infamous mafia blood in my veins guarantees my heart can’t be claimed.
Somewhere along the way, I slipped. I let myself believe we could have it all. Now a dark, menacing shadow hovers between us, mocking us for daring to hope for a normal future.
And it’s come to collect on a blood oath.
My name’s Elizabeth Borello—Libby for short. Don’t worry about forgetting it… He hasn’t.

Oh Molly, Molly, Molly – what you have you gotten me sucked into?!?! Lyric is the first book a spinoff series from Redemption. While I only read one book in the Redemption series, I was in no way confused or felt like I was missing anything as I read this story. Honestly, this story makes me want to go back and read the other books just to know what happened in that series.

“Your heartbeat will always be my favorite song.”

Libby and Maxon have been in each other lives forever. Maxon has always told Libby that they would be together forever. But it’s on his return from a tour that he comes back to a different Libby – stronger in new ways, but also more distant. Maxon knows he needs to change things in order to get Libby back and keep her. But can he really keep her??

“You’ve given me the greatest gift laced with the cruelest pain, because I know…damnit I know any day you’re about to take it away.”

Molly slayed me with this book. I love Maxon’s determination to prove to Libby that they truly are forever, regardless of every wall she throws up. Libby is not only crushing his heart at every turn, but she’s also hurting herself, but it’s for the best in her eyes. Maxon has no idea who her family is and she wants to keep Maxon from away from the harm that could come his way.

“And I’ve spent half my life with your eyes begging me to chase you and one of your hands pressed to my chest, keeping me from catching you.”

Molly delivers a perfect mix of romance and suspense in this book. I love how everything played out in this book so much. While I was correct in guessing who was behind the mysterious mask, I was no way deterred from continuing reading this one. I was super excited I was right because I doubted myself a few times.

Overall, I absolutely love this book and can’t wait to dive into the rest of the books. I couldn’t stop reading this once I started. I needed to know who was behind everything and how things would end for Libby and Maxon. Now I must go back and read the rest of the Redemption series.

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Seducing Kaden by Siobhan Davis…Blog Tour & Review

SBPR-BT-BANNER-2

Seducing Kaden, an all-new taboo romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis is available NOW!

SeducingKadenFinal-FJM_Kindle_1800x2700

Kaden

The woman I love will never be mine because she already belongs to another.

I’ve tried everything to forget her, but it’s impossible when she occupies a starring role in my dreams. My eyes are glued to her shapely curves whenever I see her around campus, and it doesn’t help that she looks as miserable as I feel.

I wonder if she misses me as much as I miss her.

Short of putting a bullet through the skull of that gangster she’s married to, I’m stuck in a hellhole of my own making.

Until fate intervenes, setting us on a collision course we can’t avoid.

Evelina

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of falling in love. The all-consuming sweep-you-off-your-feet kind of love I swooned over in movies.

It didn’t take long for that fairytale notion to come crashing down around me. Now I’m trapped in a marriage I despise with no way out.

The only light in the dark is Kaden Kennedy—the one true love of my life. He doesn’t know he is, because I’m forced to love him from afar, condemned to toss and turn at night, crying over everything I want and all I can never have.

Seeing him day in, day out, destroys me, but there’s no other choice; I had to push him away to keep him safe.

Because if my husband ever finds out I’m in love with another man, I won’t be the only one in danger.

While you don’t need to read the earlier books in this series to enjoy Seducing Kaden, it is highly recommended. This book is a contemporary new adult romance, and it is only suitable for readers aged eighteen and older due to mature content, sexual situations, and language.

This story includes details of an extramarital affair, so if you don’t like cheating or controversial storylines, then this book isn’t for you.

For anyone who truly follows my review, you will know that I have read every book in this series so far. I love Siobhan and how she writes these stories. And with each book, these boys grow and does Siobhan’s writing. Seducing Kaden is the sixth book in this series, but the third standalone within the series. However, I really, really, REALLY recommend reading them all in order because the series is so much better that way.

I have been dying for Kaden’s book to come out because he and Keven are my two faves of the brothers. Don’t ask why – I just was more interested in their stories and I am so happy we finally get them!

Seducing Kaden is very emotional and action pack read. Siobhan delivers another dramatic romance that keeps you glued to the pages, never wanting the book to end. We are given the perfect blend of romance, suspense and drama with Kaden and Eva.

Kaden is in love with a woman he can’t have and she’s forbidden in more ways than one. Eva loves Kaden but can’t give him the relationship and love he deserves. She knew what she was signing up for when she married a criminal at the age of 18. But she never expected a man like Kaden to enter her life at any point.

This book is told from both Kaden and Eva’s POV and also goes between past and present. I love how Siobhan was able to tie everything together and not lose the reader once in the story. One thing I absolutely love about Siobhan and her books is the descriptive detail she gives to everything. And it’s not details that just fluff the book, it’s details that add another layer to the story, making the story all the more entertaining to read.

Siobhan writes her books with so much passion and you can see that as you read; in her characters, in the plot lines – you are so easily able to connect to everything. The book comes to life and I love every minute detail.

And just like with every other book – we do get our HEA, but Siobhan gets you prepped and ready for the next book with just enough information that leaves you going “GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!”

Up next, my other fave brother, Keven. YESSSSSSSSSSS!

I make a last-minute detour, veering toward the bathroom instead. My heart is beating wildly against my ribcage, and blood is thrumming through my veins. What the hell was I thinking back there?Anyone could’ve noticed me making a beeline for Kaden across the dance floor. One look at both our faces would’ve given the game away. My hands are shaking as I push through the door out into the corridor leading to the restrooms. Nausea swims up my throat at the thought of that girl with her hands all over him. I stop, resting my forehead against the wall. What the hell is wrong with me?He isn’t mine, and I shouldn’t be having these thoughts.

I’m married, for God’s sake, and he’s my student.

He’s as off-limits as they come.

Perhaps that’s why I want him so badly.

Isn’t it true what they say? You always want the things you can’t have.

The door crashes open, and I stop breathing. “Eva.”

Oh, God. Please give me strength to do the right thing. I hurriedly compose myself before I turn around to face him. “Kaden.”

“We need to talk.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Well, tough,” he says, walking around me and pushing the door to the wheelchair-accessible toilet open. “In here, quick.”

Against my better judgment, I duck under his arm and step inside the small stall. He locks the door and then leans back against it, running a hand through his hair. Strands come loose, falling over his forehead in a casual way that is completely sexy.

“I can’t stop thinking about you,” he admits candidly, and butterflies take up residence in my chest. “And I miss our chats. You’re one of the few people I’m comfortable talking to. It’s so easy to just be myself when I’m with you.” His expression is deadly serious as he eyeballs me, but there’s a soft layer underneath it. “I guess I just miss everything about you. And judging by the way you were looking at me out there, I’d say you’re the same.” I chew on the inside of my mouth, hugely conflicted. “And you look beautiful by the way, and too damn sexy for that crowd.”

I thrill at his bold statement, and I know I’m fighting a losing battle even as words to the contrary slip from my mouth. “This can’t happen, Kaden.”

“Why not?”

“You know why.” I start pacing the small space. “I’m married, and you’re my student. Starting something could get both of us into big trouble.”

“The things truly worth fighting for in life come with the biggest risks.” He pushes off the door, cautiously approaching me. I’m acutely aware of every delectable inch of him as he approaches, and I’m struggling to hold on to my willpower. “And you don’t need to worry about me.” Tentatively, he reaches out, caressing my cheek. “If it blew up in our faces, I would be okay. The biggest risk is on your end, and it’s the main reason I haven’t said anything these last couple of months. I’d come to the conclusion you weren’t feeling it the way I was, but I see it written all over your face. I know you want me as much as I want you.”

I take a step back, needing to clear my head. “Wow, you’re awfully sure of yourself.”

“Tell me I’m wrong and I’ll walk away. I’ll leave you alone and never mention this again.”

I gulp over the sudden panic in my throat. I don’t want him to leave. Screw it. I throw caution to the wind. “I can’t tell you that.”
