Blurb:
Coy Mason is a jerk.

If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.)

Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.

He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it.

Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.

So why is she still standing there?

It’s been awhile since I have read Adriana’s books. I read her book that was in the Kings of Football series with two other authors back in Dec. 2020 and was intrigued by the secondary characters who were obviously a part of another series. And that is how I found myself vying to get an arc of Reputation because Coy & Bellamy really piqued my interests.

You definitely don’t need to read the first book to quickly and easily see the dynamics of Coy’s family and how Bellamy fits into everything.

And it’s extremely easy to fall in love with these characters. Not just Coy and Bellamy, but this whole huge family will warm your heart over.

Coy may be a music sensation, but at his roots, he just the boy next door who got lost along the way.

Bellamy has always been one of Coy’s closest friends growing up. These two plus Boone and Larissa always hung out when they were kids and even into their high school years. But it was in those high school years that Bellamy and Coy crossed the friendship line a few times, but never forced it passed that.

Now that Coy is home, he wants to figure out why they lost that connection they had as kids and become friends again. But Bellamy refuses to get her hopes up again because Coy will be leaving, again.

Both of these characters grow personally and in their relationship throughout this book. Coy refuses to let Bellamy walk away and slowly, Bellamy lets her walls down and sees that they have both failed in the past in so many ways.

“A life without tears is a life unlived.”

I really enjoyed this story a lot. Adriana’s writing is simple yet keeps your attention to not only the story, but these characters. The book flows smoothly and quickly. This may be listed as an enemies to lover romance but I would also throw in the second-chance aspect too and you have to read out to figure out why.

I am looking forward to see Adriana brings us with Boone’s book.
