The Hating Season is a contemporary romance full of angst, drama and a frowned upon romance. It is a complete standalone, however, I would highly recommend reading these books in order to get the best and all-around full story. The Hating Season is part of a series, The Seasons, but it is a spin-off of Linde’s Cruel Trilogy.
Court Kensington needs to have his image cleaned up after he had a rather unfortunate and complicated breakup. It’s not only for his own self-image but also because his mother is running for re-election and doesn’t need to be adding additional stress.
Anna English is one of the best publicist’s for Hollywood’s elite in LA. However, being a publicist for a social elite in New York is a whole other area. There is a reason that Anna excels at what she does – she doesn’t let any client get under her skin or under her in bed.
But now Anna finds herself being thrust into the spotlight with her movie star husband cheating on her and the paparazzi popping up and printing pictures and stories that fit their agenda. And Court has found himself in more deep water just weeks before the election.
However, Anna and Court find themselves needing one another for far more reasons than business. As much as Anna thinks she can resist the Kensington charm, she finds herself seeing another side of Court that makes it much harder than she thought.
I really, really enjoyed this story. It has all the angst, drama and sexy times that I love from Linde. We get to see the rest of the crew too in here and see where things are with all of them, but it never detracts from the story. Linde does a great job of keeping things entertaining, steam and moving at the right pace. I also love that she keeps readers on their toes about two more members of the crew that are coming up in the next book.
Another great book from the Upper East Side Crew and I am looking forward to Camden and Katherine’s story.
