Down on Me (Man of the Month Club #1) by J. Kenner…Review

Tight muscles. Vibrant Ink.
Meet Mr. January. Winter’s never looked so hot…

Certified bachelor Reece Walker wants two things — to save the local bar he manages and to get Jenna Montgomery into his bed.

He has a few ideas for the bar. But Jenna… well, he’s going to have to rely on cold showers, because she’s been his best friend for years, and that’s a line he just can’t cross.

Until one wild kiss on a dark night changes everything. Now Reece is certain Jenna’s meant to be his.

And with long nights in bed, sensual caresses, and deep, lingering kisses, he sets out to thoroughly convince her that friends can be lovers, too.

All I am going to say is, “Hell yeah I have something to look forward to every month!”. Okay Down on Me gives you that romance fix you need but aren’t sure you have enough time to get it. By that I mean, it is short, fast paced and to the point. I feel like J. Kenner is really using this first book in the Man of the Month series to really set it up. The great thing is that you get to know the key players and how this Man of the Month comes about. What is also fantastic is that you get to have a new book monthly as well as a cookbook!! YYYEEEESSSS- book and food- you cannot go wrong, just BYOB and you are all set readers!

True to J. Kenner form, the story of Jenna and Reece is so fun and hot to read. I literally read this in two days! It has a little bit of a rushed ending but why prolong something you know is going to happen? You really need this one to start the series off so you can get a good understanding of how everything unfolds. This is really a must-read series from a great romance author. I cannot wait to tell you about the next one because the Epilogue to the next book in the series is juicy!

About the Author

J. Kenner (aka Julie Kenner) is the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Wall Street Journal and #1 International bestselling author of over seventy novels, novellas and short stories in a variety of genres.

Though known primarily for her award-winning and international bestselling erotic romances (including the Stark and Most Wanted series) that have reached as high as #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, JK has been writing full time for over a decade in a variety of genres including paranormal and contemporary romance, “chicklit” suspense, urban fantasy, and paranormal mommy lit.

JK has been praised by Publishers Weekly as an author with a “flair for dialogue and eccentric characterizations” and by RT Bookclub for having “cornered the market on sinfully attractive, dominant antiheroes and the women who swoon for them.” A five time finalist for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA award, JK took home the first RITA trophy awarded in the category of erotic romance in 2014 for her novel, Claim Me (book 2 of her Stark Trilogy).

In her previous career as an attorney, JK worked as a clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced primarily civil, entertainment and First Amendment litigation in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as in Austin, Texas. She currently lives in Central Texas, with her husband, two daughters, and two rather spastic cats.
