Synopsis:
After a night of drinking turns to chaos, Henley finds herself alone with Lucas Young, a student from London who has come to America to unravel a few secrets of his own, as well as break a few hearts.
Covered in tattoos and drowning in liquor, Lucas was everything Henley should avoid but couldn’t resist. She soon begins to fall for him like the many women before her. But after stumbling across something he didn’t want her to see, she learns that Lucas may not be who she thinks he is.
Henley and Gigi devise a plan to teach Lucas a lesson, but it isn’t long before Henley learns that no one at Shamus Thornton College can be trusted.
When everything begins to feel like it is falling apart, there is only one person Henley wants to pick up the pieces, even if he is the person who caused her to crumble.
I was beyond thrilled and truly honored when I was given the option to review Teresa’s newest book, Shameless. For anyone that has not read Teresa Mummert – you are missing out on ALOT!!
Shameless is told in dual POVs – Lucas and Henley. They are both attending, Shamus Thorton College (Shame U). Henley is more the quiet, mousey type – sticking to her school work and not out partying it up and enjoying college life. Lucas moved to the states from London for his own reasons. He’s her total opposite – tatted up bad boy.
“Sometimes you lies are as simple as a smile.”
On one particular night, Henley’s best friend, Gigi, is able to convince her to go to a party. A party where she ends up alone with Lucas. And so beings their tale of lies, deceit and betrayal but neither can walk away.
Teresa writes some of the most intricate and descriptive books. I love how she is able to bring her words to life and make them feel like a movie playing out before you. And Shameless has no shortage of this. Teresa puts you through a rollercoaster of emotions and does let up on the angst at any point.
“He was a heartbreak waiting to happen, and I refused to be his next victim.”
Teresa has created another fabulous series with characters that will leave you wanting more. Shameless can be read as a standalone. However, I am looking forward to reading more about Henley and Lucas along with the rest of the cast. I can’t wait to see where Teresa takes us next!
