My Review:
After We Fall is the third book in author Marquita Valentine’s Take the Fall Series and actually the first in the series that I’ve read. It’s safe to say that I will be picking up the previous two titles after reading this third installment because I really enjoyed this book!
One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the message of survival and resilience. A message that no matter what your past held, you can overcome anything with determination and strength. Both Evangeline and Hunter have painful pasts and experience with abuse. Hunter’s having been in his childhood and Evangeline’s much more recent in her failed marriage. I loved the strength Evangeline was able to draw from Hunter after she is able to open up and let him in. Their journey from when they first meet to becoming much more was set at the perfect pace and was extremely real. I appreciated that, especially reading what Evangeline experienced at the hands of her ex. I also loved Hunter’s patience with Evangeline and how he let her set the pace at which their connection grew. Oh, and when their connection grew? Holy moly it was HOT!
Overall this was a beautiful, sweet, sexy, romance with two amazing characters. I can’t wait to dive into the previous books in the series and look forward to reading more of Ms. Valentine’s work!
