New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Diana Palmer is back in Wyoming with a tale of love born in Big Sky Country…
Billionaire oilman Blair Coleman has always taken care of his business. After having been used and cast aside by a woman he thought he loved, his personal life is far from his first priority. He knows only one has ever truly cared for him—but the irresistible blonde beauty is the daughter of his best friend.
Niki Ashton has seen her father’s friend wounded and she’s seen him fight. Blair is the strongest—and most stubborn—man she’s ever known. That very heart and passion makes him the man of her dreams, but whenever they’ve been in danger of getting close, Blair has always pushed her away.
It takes a possible tragedy to strip away all of Blair’s misgivings. Now it’s all or nothing: marriage, baby, family, forever. But will the choice be too much for Niki…or too late?

My review:
Wyoming Rugged is the fifth book in author Diana Palmer’s Wyoming Men series and admittedly the first of her work that I’ve read and it was an enjoyable one.
This story follows a young woman’s journey into a romantic relationship with an older man. The relationship developed at a slow build and, in the beginning, more so coming from Niki and not Blair. But that being said, I’ve certainly read my fair share of books where relationships started off one sided and grew to more so it didn’t bother me too terribly. I was curious to see how Niki would develop as a character and when, and if, Blair would eventually grow to love her back. They ultimately have the same goals in life which were really what most of us want: love, a family, and a stable life.
One thing I have to admit, however. A few times I got the vibe that Niki really was looking for more of a father figure in Blair at times and that I wasn’t a huge fan of. She was a bit too “young” at times of me and it threw me off a bit. I don’t think it had to do with age, but more of her life experience level and how much she’s actually been able to experience having lived a sheltered life.
Overall, this was a sweet slow building romance that I enjoyed as a whole. I will certainly be looking into more of Ms. Palmer’s books in the future.

Thanks, Jillian….I appreciate the review. It is hard to distinguish between age vs. lack of experience…not going to be in a hurry to get to this one, but eventually, because Dianna does write well.
I’m interested in reading more of Diana because the writing was great…I just wasn;t connecting with this heroine :-/
I really want to read this as the things that are summarised above has made me more excited to read this.
