Bryce Douglas faces a crisis of faith when his idyllic view of his family is challenged with his son’s diagnosis of autism. Instead of accepting his wife and her tight-knit family’s comfort, he pushes them away, fears from his past threatening to undo the happiness he’s found in his present.

My Review:

Weather the Storm by Lisa Mondello is the 7th episode in the Rising Storm series and, by far, the most emotional of all. It was touching and an amazing continuation of the series…

Pastor Bryce Johnson and his wife, Tara, are struggling with the realization that their son is autistic. Tara has come to terms and is in the process of doing everything she can to make sure he is successful in all things…but she’s doing it alone. Bryce is in denial and to say it’s putting a strain on their once solid marriage would be an understatement. Their struggle broke my heart. There were many touching and emotional moments packed into this episode and I loved them…especially the end when Bryce and Tara have a beautiful moment and realize they need to return to their loving marital roots. I have to warn you, don’t read this while on a treadmill, like I did, because I was crying and all out of breath and almost fell more than once.

I’m sad there’s only one more episode left in this season! I can’t wait to see how it ends and spend one last time, for now, in Storm!

About the author:

New York Times and USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Lisa Mondello, has held many jobs in her life but being a published author is the last job she’ll ever have. She’s not retiring! She blames the creation of the personal computer for her leap into writing novels. Otherwise, she’d still be penning stories with paper and pen. Her book The Knight and Maggie’s Baby is a New York Times Bestseller. Her popular series includes TEXAS HEARTS, DAKOTA HEARTS, Fate with a Helping Hand and the new SUMMER HOUSE series. Writing as LA Mondello, her romantic suspense, MATERIAL WITNESS, book 1 of her Heroes of Providence series made the USA TODAY Bestsellers List and was named one of Kirkus Reviews Best Books of 2012.
